Parking can be challenging on a hot day, but average if the day is fair. The beach is clean and has plenty of space for families. The view on a clear day is breath taking you can see the Bay Bridge and the S.F. Skyline. I love that there are many bathrooms available, but they need to be cleaned more often.Bonus there is a designated bike lane that runs parallel the beach.Overall, a great place to spend a lazy weekend.
I came here this morning to enjoy a coffee date with a friend. There were quite a few people on the beach and some in the water. The folks on the beach were good about keeping their masks on when passing others. My friend and I happily sat and people watched for 1.5 hours. And the parking is free! Morning well spent!
My whole family loves this place it has lots of parking right n front in parking lot its sandy, clean, friendly and single big bathrooms right n front its shallow then gets deep in middle so its safe for kids theres a dog park and walking trails market right across street and a boat shop to rent from the only thing i dont like is that u get harassed by squirrels constantly lol they steel your food n gets very close but a lot of people like this my daughter loves it but scares some kids cuz they will steel from their hands and invade your area.
Was pretty empty and most people have masks so I felt safe to go. Dogs are not allowed on the beach just on the sidewalk which is still nice
This beach is pretty interesting. Obviously man-made and the sand is a little coarse for a beach but its a great place to take the kids has plenty of parking and is much closer to the inland communities than the actual beach. plus theres no real tide or surf to speak of so you dont have to worry about that too much and on summertime days the water is actually decently warm.
The water is so nice if you like swimming or just relaxing. Very shallow and no waves. Unfortunately they do not let dogs on the beach. Looks like theres a place to rent kayaks and its not hard to spread out once in the water because its so shallow you can go pretty far out but very crowded on the sand.
I go to the Bay and enjoy the noice of the ocean. People really show their child like when they have fun at the beach. So this is why I recommend and well live a little bit. Enjoy the good company and the music.
I love this place they have bathrooms close by and then they have a place where to take a rinse before you go inside the beach. There is plays where you can do bbq. They also have a place where you can rent kayaking and Pateling. Its family friendly! Love it! Its closer than sf. And you can see the bay Bridge from far away!
Spacious, great vistas when its not fogged in, water calm enough for open water swimming along the shoreline, windy enough for kiting, wind surfing. Its usually kept clean of debris and if you go early there are few people to have to avoid... Quiet, soothing, nurturing atmosphere, waves lapping at the shore. Plenty of beach space for social distancing while sunning. Avoid likely busy times between 11am and 6pm, weekends. NO DOGS (supposedly) ALLOWED! Thats a good thing...
Pretty nice area for picnicTons of trees giving shades. People had hammocks on an relaxing. But it is closer to marina and there is very little waves. So there is an algae problem. If you want to take a swim you must likely will be eating some of the algae and sea weeds!
Its a great beach and beautiful. It is patrolled a lot by police so try not to get caught here at night or with a dog. No dogs are allowed.
A little hard to find unless your on foot and walk up to the sand dunes/wall. You get the general idea where to go when you notice all the people coming to & from the beach with paddle boards etc. Very nice spot to sit & have a beach picnic. Ideally shallow waters for the kiddos go out into the water at a lengthy distance which is interesting. Lots and lots of parking with some shaded areas from trees. Lots going on here but people are cool and mind their business, such a good vibe! The water is a bit murky with a layer of muddle above the sand/gravel clears up pretty quick. Lots of small crabs & tons of silvery minnows swimming around you. Very spacious beach is close to restaurants etc.
I absolutely love the view of San Francisco from here. This is a nice quiet place to just relax or read a book. One of my favorite places in the Bay Area.
Long strip of beach with plenty of space. Parking is tough but you should be able to find something.Bathrooms are locked it 5pm so plan accordingly!
This beach is pleasant enough with plenty of street parking. It has decent views of the city and is pretty clean. A great neighborhood beach, especially if youre in East Bay and need a beach fix.
This beach is pretty interesting. Obviously man-made and the sand is a little coarse for a beach but its a great place.
This beach is pretty interesting! Water is shallow so easy to enjoy water with family.
Its quite n clean also d people around r nice n parking s not so bad
Have always loved Alameda Beach.Great place to take kids as the water doesnt go deep and the waves arent too big . Easy to get to, even has a shopping center across the street
Decent place to pass your time.. not much sand..plenty of parking. Google maps didnt take you to the right place. Lot of crowd.. overall well spent day with kids, sand, kites and ofcourse water..
Nice beach for kids. Water is shallow for a long time. Can play for the whole day. And beautiful vistas over the bay, you can see the San Fransisco skyline faraway and the mountains at the other side. Also a good place for swimming, the water warms up during the day.
As beaches in California goes, its not what most people would expect. No blue/green water, big waves or fine powder sand. Instead, it gets you a pretty nice view of San Francisco area, and a nice place to cool off on a hot day. The surrounding grounds are spacious enough to stake out your claim of independence for you and your family. It can get very busy at times, so there can be a level of frustration to finding parking related to this place.
Beautiful place to go definitely love it better then half moon Bay very different atmosphere as far as weather super sunny here I love it
Whats known to locals as Alameda Beach today was lovely! It was warm but breezy, and the water was the perfect temp. Something fun about the water is that you can walk all the way in and it does not get further up than your hips. It is a very safe beach for kids to play in the water and the waves were very gentle. People on the beach were abiding to COVID distances perfectly fine and I felt very safe. We had a great time!
Crown Beach is amazing! Its not the Bahamas with no sparkling blue water or white sand beaches, but it has a beauty of its own. Signs publish water quality information for folks interested in getting in, and waves are gentle enough for kids. There are gorgeous views of the city, areas for volleyball and some minimal bathroom facilities. Lining the beach are walking and bike paths and a park with grassy lawns, picnic areas, and ducks and geese. There are no food or drink establishments within reach, so bring your own. On a hot day, the beach gets a little crowded. Depending on the weather, you can see many kites and some really cool kite boarding.
I havent been to the beach in a very long time. I remember when the beach was called just Alameda beach. I didnt even know it had a new name. Overall it was a great experience. Everyone was social distancing. I went with my girls
Relaxing, everyone enjoying themselves. Bring whatever you want to eat and drink
Decent beach. Ample parking. The day I went the sand was soooo hot!! But the kids enjoyed getting outside.
The place is beautiful, but people dont take care of it. I found a piece of glass, and I was lucky I did not hurt myself. Take care of our beaches people!
Beautiful to see a throng of wind surfing surfers simultaneously while the water glistened with a unique turquoise color I havent seen there before! Parking is rather limited, though. Social distancing was practiced but not to the extremes, not sure how much you care about that.
Its nice and calm. Parking is little tough. But you can find road side park.
Public seats are missing. Can you bring food and drinking water in a daze. There is a picnic area that is not too large and suitable for many people. It is recommended to walk along the beach to avoid bicycles.
Great place to enjoy with family and friends. The bay area views are spectacular and dogs are allowed.
CROWDED when its warm out. Nice size beach but the sand does have sticks and shrubs in it. NO dogs allowed but people like to bend the rules and also walk dogs along side the beach on the pavement. Shopping center & food near by.
One of my favorite places in the bay to take my dog!
Great beach & park! Warmer, calmer water & weather than the ocean. Nice fine sand. (But also kinda dirty.)
Robert Crown or as we called it as kids Alameda beach is a nice beach about 2 miles long.Beautiful views of San Francisco and the bay.
Drag my boats here and launch from beach. Rangers are cool and they want sailboats windsurfers to stay away from the swimmers and of the beach.
This is a great family friendly beach. Water is generally warm and pretty shallow.
Awesome clean calm warm waters great to take a walk along the beach or just lay doy and enjoy the sun.
It’s a great place to be with family. Kids will enjoy the place . It’s got a very Long Beach and ample space to walk along. Enjoyed the great weather, building sand castles and flying kite. It was too windy make sure you have are properly covered during the cold days, gets really cold towards the evening.
You can swim and enjoy the bay. Especially good for kids. They have public restrooms. There is no fee for parking. Very clean place. Recommended.
Great walking beach. Warm water.Parking is difficult at times.Always enjoy my time there.
It could have been better, I Truly dont understand why no Charcoal grilling... Anywhere. But Propane is Okay.Look. Fire is fire. And Sand puts out fire. So does Water. You know the simple fire stoppers.
I like to walk here with my friends and just talk about stuff with them. Its not too crowded and its an enjoyable experience spending time to destress with loved ones. Ill probably come here again eventually at some point
Very calm day a little windy but warm. Plenty of parking. Water was very salty or would have been 5 stars
Very nice beach park! But parking was a pain today. Best to come early on warm sunny days!
No parking fee and a lot of place to walk around and enjoy some picnic
Very nice park. Handicap parking available. Surface parking lot with $5 fee. Clean public restrooms. Well maintained, clean fronting San Francisco Bay with view towards the San Mateo County Peninsula. Pinic Ares with BBQs available.
Whats not to love here?! Get out and enjoy the fresh air! Bring the kids to the beach and enjoy the sunshine. Your mental health depends on it!
The water was so warm & it was easy to social distance. Great place for the kids to swim
Nice, quaint place to go enjoy beautiful views, sand and water. Love the view of my beautiful SF across the way! Kids love the calm waters in the area.
Not very crowded. Quiet and good for a quick break.
Fun family time. No waves. Can walk out far. Clean water. Sandy beach.
Love this beach. Its clean, has bathrooms, picnic tables, and a place to wash up. And the kids can walk in the ocean and swim because its shallow. They love it.
A nice beach to go to not too far away from home. Lots of space for volleyball, frisbee and any other activities you can think of.
Crown beach is a great place for taking the family. The water is very shallow with small waves. The beach has a hill you go down to the beach which is interesting. There is parking. There is a path for walking, roller blading, bikes, and skate boarding.Mynkids love Kayak there. Many people kite surf and wind surf when it is windy.
Beach is busy. Massive parking lot right next to it, which brings more traffic to the beach. Short sand beach, wish it was a bit wider though. 0
Clean beach, a bit rocky for my taste and super windy. But good location, small waves and wasnt very crowded the day we went.
Crowded, no shade, and I got a thousand splinters in my middle finger without touching anything. Only upside was that the ocean is always pretty and I like boats
Its a local beach close to a shopping center. On a beautiful day in the Bay its perfect! You can see SF clearly. No dogs! Tons of algae and seaweed. Excellent beach to fly kites.
Love this massive beach that faces sunset over SF!
I went around 7pm in August (not sure if it was low tide?) And the water was really shallow, even pretty far out. Not great for swimming imo. But its not cold so thats nice
My young son and I love this beach for its beauty, safety and serenity. Look
Loved taking my whole family out to this beach. Very safe for children plus the water is much warmer that at Santa Cruz beach. Awesome view of the City & the Bay Bridge.Great for kite surfing too.
Awesome stretch of sandy beach. This is the bay, not the ocean, still awesome!
My favourite place in Bay Area. Its beautiful everywhere, the city itself, the beach and park. Downtown is close to the beach. Has many nice restaurants around
Water was nice and warm, could go out pretty far and the water not go past your knees. Kids playing and adults relaxing, warm cool breeze on a nice clean beach.
Water is warm, and air was fresh when fire smoke was overcast, creating a depressing mood in the rest of the East bay. My new fav beach
Not too crowded to watch the sunset on a weekday.
Amazing beach for kids. Very shallow and no waves.
I love this place always clean but sometimes times there is dirty people that left their garbage behind
Great place for kids to get in the water at a safe water level pretty far off shore. Only one bathroom open due to covid Im guessing. Came on a weekday so it wasnt too busy.
Nice hidden beach for all of Bay Area. Great place to cool off during Covid quarantine season.
Plentiful parking for this small scenic beach. There is a steep hill to descend before reaching the water however, so those with mobility issues may wish to park somewhere else to more easily reach the water.
Dirty place. The water is warm though.
Beautiful place. Lovely and relaxing
Still a nice scenic peaceful fulfilling strool during current times.
Really windy, so dont take a cheap beach umbrella. Its a nice place anyhow. Water is a nice temperature and no big waves, so good for the kids.
My family and I went on a very windy day but it was beautiful. The sun was out, the water was warm and the waves are so mild that the kids loved being able to swim very far out and still be safe. We will definitely be back soon and do a bbq or walk a trail or 2 also. It is a beautiful open space.
Not overly crowded on the shore line beach. The water was perfect and in the morning it is very calm waters.
Not good, water is very dirty and no facilities, also too crowded.
Beautiful beach with large shallow area. Great for small kids. Water is warm due to being shallow. Wind is high so bring a coat. A little rocky so I suggest at least some flip flops. Beautiful place ti spend an afternoon or tire out your kids!
Nice beach for walking and swimming as water is relatively warmer than ocean
Lived here 35 years. Never knew there was a beach here lol. Anywyas. My kids loved it I loved it. Clean beach too.
The water quality not the best felt lime the people were very rude yes its a community beach but personal space is personal space...
This place is great for picnics, taking long walks by the water or simply to see flowers and ducks all around. Very pleasant and relaxing place.
Great park to relax, read, picnic, exercise, splash around, and/or sunbathe! Clean, well-equipped restrooms. $5 parking, or free to walk in. Shallow water great for children to play in.
Very beautiful and peaceful enjoyed it relaxing couple hours
First time coming here. Family had a good time!
Best place to ride your bike the wind blowing through your hair the sea salt you can taste Alameda California is the best place to live
