Best theater of this kind in the Hudson Valley. Much better than ipic and much cheaper. I recommend it.
I have left a review for this place before for a date night, but I want to shout them out for being amazing to families and people with special needs. Their Alamo for All and Tuesday Baby Mornings are a blessing to people with children with special needs who want their kids to be able to participate in fun stuff. Parents on maternity leave can get a break and watch a movie without stares and snide remarks. Love this place and their super amazing incredible staff!!!!! PS....It is the best place for a holiday pic too!!
This was definitely my husbands and favorite go to place for date night. The draft beers are always great and their menu selections are good. We like when they sometimes add a theme menu which makes the experience while watching the movie the menu was created for all the better.A couple times they mixed the orders up like bring extra wings or forget the wings all together but regardless we love it there so much we always overlooked it.
I don’t go to the movies often, so when I do, I treat myself to a trip to the Alamo. It’s more than a movie theater, it’s an experience. They have a bar in the lobby that serves a ton of great craft beer. (A few I had never even heard of!)Then when you enter the theater and take your seat...you have a HUGE menu of food you can order. A runner will bring your order directly to you, in the dark. They time it perfectly too so they bring you the bill and you pay just as the movie is ending. When the credits roll...you can too!Definitely recommend especially for bigger/popular films (think Star Wars), it brings out the community and fans.
My favorite theater to visit. There are so many good things I can say. Its just a movie theater on steroids. Food and drinks are great and those milkshakes are out of control. Having a good beer menu is a plus but I typically drive there so I dont tend to have any in those cases. The rewards program is also a nice touch which makes me a very loyal Alamo regular. Overall, never a bad experience here.
I had an absolute blast seeing Captain Marvel at this theater. Alamo Drafthouse truly elevates the moving going experience. The service was excellent and considerate of everyones experience. The food was excellent, though is over priced. The bottomless popcorn is a great option to save money and the milkshakes are a must-have!
I ordered a double cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and pickles along with a milk shake. They brought me my shake first at the start of the movie THE THING. Halfway through the movie our server tells me the burger was coming out soon. 3/4s of the way through the movie and two sips left of my milk shake my burger finally appears. The fries were cold and the burger was nearly raw in the middle. The bun was so wet that I couldve drank it. The pickle was fine. But whoever made that burger could have done better.Because youre in the dark and focused on the movie screen doesnt mean one is not conscious of what they are putting in their mouth. The timing was way off on the food served to me.You can get someone sick serving them an undercooked, nearly raw burger. Thankfully I didnt get sick or I wouldve reported this establishment to the Health Department and the Yonkers Better Business Bureau.Suffice it to say, I wont eat there again.
Nice servers. Food takes forever to get there but its to be expected. Very accommodating and polite. Overpriced prices of everything. But if youre willing to spend a bit to kind of treat yourself or another so you can be lazy its a great place to go.
The best movie theater I have ever gone to. First of, you get to choose your own seat. Second, you can order food or dessert from the menu while you watch the movie, and third, you can have a cocktail or hard liquor at any given time before, or during the movie. Definitely a place I have already recommended to many friends, co-workers, and even strangers.
The food was very good but they really need to remodel and update the place. The seats should recline and a tray should flip up. It would make a way better experience and I would come more often. However, the staff are friendly and the food came out quick.
The best theater! I absolutely love it here. They have a wide variety of food options as well as drinks. I come here at least twice a month. The staff are super friendly and the location is great!
Extremely accommodating to individuals with special needs. Staff is very friendly, it has a small-town theater vibe. Prices are less than the big-box, impersonal theaters. Senior pricing is up to 2:00 p.m. every day and Alamo has a strict policy on no talking and no cell phones. Food/drink prices are affordable and a lovely treat to be served while relaxing at your seat. For tea drinkers - they actually serve a full pot of tea for $5 (tip generously!), not just one cup, and the tea bags have been steeped in the pot for a real cup of tea, not tepid water with a teabag chaser on the side. My favorite movie theater - curl up with a pot of tea and escape for a few hours!
You buy your ticket online. You select your seats. If there arent any good seats, you know. No unpleasant surprises. When you get to the Alamo, you go straight to your seat - no lines. You peruse the menu, pick out some food and drink. Maybe a choice ale? Shot of tequila? A fancy cocktail? Or even an adult milkshake. How about popcorn. Or a nice sandwich, salad, or pizza. The food is really good. All you do is write down what you want on a card, put the card in a slot, and magically your stuff comes. And if you want more during the movie, you dont have to miss any action, just fill out another card. Its the civilized way to see a movie.
Good food, good service, nice outing. I went to see a move with my friends and it was cool just ordering from my seat. Seems like a great date night place.
Was a great Movie theater when it was opened
Good food, good service, nice outing. I went to see a move with my friends and it was cool just ordering from my seat. Seems like a great date night place.
Great theater! I have so many memories of this theater from when it was Movieland. The Alamo has revived this old theater and turned into a Gem in Yonkers! Great movies, drink, events, and food while you watch!
The movie had JUST started. And they let someone in. I had to stand up during the opening shot while they tried to find their seat with a cell phone flashlight. Missed the first shots of the film and titles giving important context to the film. The movie START TIME WAS 6:00pm. This happened at 6:15pm. HOLD TRUE TO YOUR POLICIES. Was not a great experience overall. Also, not crazy about the way you have to get in and out of your seat. People huff and puff when you get there and have to get to your seat. BEFORE the movie starts. And also during the movie the waiters running around in the dark is a little distracting...
This is my go-to movie theater. Anytime Ive had to reschedule a visit, they were very helpful in rearranging the tickets. I wish all movie theaters were like Alamo. The food is good, especially when there are special items on the menu. The staff is very friendly. And if Ive ever had a problem with anything they were very helpful in remedy the situation.
Great spot to see a movie. Comfortable, clean and friendly staff. Tamika made sure we were well taken care of. Food, beer, speciality drinks makes it a fun spot and it is refreshing to see fun movie clips before the previews instead of car dealership or soda ads. Get there a 1/2 hour early to enjoy and place your order.
Best movie theater in Westchester in my opinion. Ticket prices are reasonable, the audio/video quality in the theaters is top notch, the food is excellent and not too expensive (they have a limited movie themed diner menu) and the seats a quite comfortable. Most important of all though are the Alamos no talking/cell phone policy and the incredible curated classic and cult movies they regularly show.
My favorite movie theater. Always a great place to go to see a movie - love the wacky previews beforehand. Food has always been great here - recommend their awesome milkshakes and bottomless popcorn!
A more adult crowd, they serve beer, booze and food to your seat. After one warning about being too loud the will throw people out! Pick your own seat. Dont expect super cool seating, no stadium seating, no recliners, just regular seats (the arm rests fold up). I love this place!
I love this theater, Gives me 90s vibes. Nice leather seats with a real table in front of you. Food & drinks are excellent, with decent prices, good portion sizes and decent variety menu for everyone especially seeing Im pescatarian, they are willing to substitute. Some items like popcorn and soda have unlimited free refills. Just like a restaurant, you will write down your order and the server brings everything right to your seat. I will be going back.
Great idea for the cinema industry. It is nice that there is a no cell phone policy, and the beer selection is great for enjoying with friends while you watch a movie. There is a good selection of food on the menu an d seat delivery is always nice.
Great service from the wait staff and the food is actually pretty good. We were expecting fully lay down seats which they dont have so we were a little dissapointed . Otherwise pretty good except for the smell in the theatre, like the floors hasnt been cleaned properly. Thats the only thing that brings them down to 3 stars
Very clean theatre. You can order food from your seat and it is brought to you quickly. The concession stand is clean and the workers are very helpful as well. It is always a great experience.
Today was my first experience coming to this theatre and I love it, I came to see movie Gemini Man and will come to see the new movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. I love the movie theatre service and how clean it is and that I can order foot without me going outside. This is now my favorite theatre
Great food and a fun experience! I wouldn’t recommend getting a meal though, it’s weird eating in the dark but the delicious appetizers are worth it! Great date night idea in Yonkers
Great experience. The food service was different from other movie theaters. They take your order like a restaurant while you sit and enjoy the movie. And top top it off, the have like 32 different draft beers. I recommend the Gun Hill Earth Invaders. Take your date or take your family. This is a very chill spot.
This is my second time at an Alamo. First one was in SF. The locations are different but the ambience are the same. Great food and great seats. The movie quality is great. But in reality you are going for the experience and that was amazing. Bottomless popcorn and drinks is a must if you are with a family. And the sándwiches are good. The price of the movie ticket and then food comes out to a lot which is why I give it four star. Go to a matinee and save some money.
One of my favorite places to go!! They have real food & drink options for a great price range. They also have a policy to ensure people behave during the movie: no phones, no talking, etc which makes movie watching that much better!
This was my first time at an Alamo Drafthouse and it was great. I especially love their strict no talk/text policy during the movie. The food was great as well.
Clean, comfortable seats, small theater, service was fine, convenient getting snacks and drinks at the seat. Food selection better than typical movie theater fare, but dont expect a great restaurant experience. Crowd was well behaved. Gin inja drink was tasty $13, kids drink overpriced $6. Food and drinks are optional. Overall a nice place to watch a movie.
Great location of a great franchise. Love the fried cauliflower. Good beer selection and service. They also have great alternative programming movie wise, in addition to your standard fare. The Alamo is a haven for movie lovers.
This has to be my FAVORITE dine in theater by the Bronx. No complaints on this end unless youre one to make noise or cause disturbance while the movie is in motion
Good food and adult beverages. Bottomless popcorn is fresh, not bagged. Food brought to you by friendly staff. A little pricey but you are paying for the convenience. Beware, if you are noisy or disruptive during the movie, they will ask you to leave (they warn you in advance).
Before the idea of alcohol at a movie theater was distant. I love this place. Great food. The impossible vegan burger is amazing. I love it. Krystal was our server and she was so kind and helpful. Love this location. Has tons of parking space. And their draft beers are amazing. Will certainly come back
Im in love with this place. The people are wonderful, the food and drinks are amazing and the service was so freaking cool. The idea of being able to have my popcorn and drinks delivered to me while watching my movie was like a dream. The place was super clean, and I just love it!
Very fun environment to watch movies in and the periodic parties are really the best reason to come, very entertaining
Cool place but it does have a funny smell. I love the concept of a bar and the awesome movie memorabilia on display.
Best place to see a movie in New York. The theaters are small, so make sure to buy your tickets in advance, or check the available seats ahead of time to make sure it’s not sold out. Before each show, they play a custom selection old timey video clips relevant to the theme of whatever the feature film will be, so it’s really worthwhile to arrive early anyway.Food is pretty good here, but a bit pricier than it could be for what you’re getting. Usually I’ll try to eat before heading to the movie, and stick with drinks and snacks while at the theater. However, the desserts are delightful, and I really enjoy the selection of cocktails and draft beers.
Pretty good stuff. Very nice to have table/seat service at the movie. The rows are setup well, where theres a walkway for the server to get orders and bring food and drinks. All the menu items seem pretty appetizing, and the ones Ive gotten, including the gourmet popcorn have been tasty.Particularly good for summer type blockbuster movies, not sure a real deep intellectual movie would work well.
Supper great place to see movie. Has a great selection of craft beer in tap. Food is good and service is fast. Clean facilities. Must buy tickets in advanced. Lighting is din as it is a movie theater so some items in the menue are a bit tuff to eat in low light but so worth it.
This is by far my favorite movie theatre to go to. I mean, comfortable seats, full service menu, and alcohol...whats not to like? Sure, the tickets are a few dollars more than AMC, but you have a server and an adults only policy, which, great reduces the likelihood that youll have your movie ruined by an annoying person.
Alamo Draft house is disgusting. It was considered an option after learning the the IPIC movie theater in Dobbs ferry closed. Went there to see Bad Boys and upon walking in I was immediately turned off. The smell of the old carpeting upset my stomach. After walking in the theater itself, there was no relief. Still smelly and extremely hot for a movie theater. The floors were sticky, no ventilation, just not good. The servers are constantly walking around and passing in front of you during the movie. The cocktail drink I ordered was given to me with no straw in a somewhat dirty glass, and also disgusting. The chocolate chip cookies were great tho. Would NERVER go back and already have told friends to never try. You guys should consider a major cosmetic refresh.
As the 20th century rolls along the theater has changed along with it the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Yonkers is a chain of movie theaters in which you were basically having a dining experience as well as enjoying the movieYou will have a dedicated waiter or waitress who will not only get you your food before the movie starts but also refills and additional food during the way they sent the system up chairs and tables are spaced out evenly and nicely and no one gets in anyones ViewThey have a strict policy of being quiet and if you pull out your phone and start checking your Instagram they will kick you out with the bill.I suggest to get there at least 30 minutes early so you can get to know the menu (there is a lot of choices) you know what you want and then have your food come at the start of the movie and be done with it halfway through the filmPeople that get there late & order at the beginning tend to have a more frustrated experience
This place was amazing. The seats were very comfortable and the drinks and food were very good. Could have done without the mouse running across the floor....
Pet cool places. Didnt expect it do be as cool as it was
Love this place when it comes to cinema, and overall quality of the film experience. The staff and atmosphere are top notch. The food service in the 4 years Ive been going has been taking a bit of a down turn on the wait staff. Order cards are either not looked at after the initial order or things are missing from orders. I hope this is just a moment in time, as Ive been letting myself make multiple visits before Id even try to review the experience Ive been having.
This theater is always playing a good assortment of current and older movies for everyone to enjoy. The best part would obviously be the fact that they provide a full menu with a variety of choices of food and drinks. The theaters are large and there is plenty of leg room since there is space between each row for servers to come and go. They unfortunately do not have reclining seats but they are still quite comfortable. They also sell tshirts and movie memorabilia. Lastly they have a bar to grab a drink before or after your showing and sometimes have special themed glasses for new movies. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the bathrooms seem to be over looked. Most stalls are without toilet paper and are left quite dirty. But all in all a great place to enhance your movie going experience.
Good theater for a nice movie with some drinks and food . Overall it is kept very clean and there is plenty of variety of movies shown
I love it there. Great service. Great movies.
Good food. Patient staff. A very nice environment overall for watching movies. The chalk art is also very cool.
Love this place. Always an awesome time. This business as learned to make the movie experience fun again. Always have a DD, because their beers are bomb. Food is great, chocolate chip cookies are amazinggg
This was the first time that I visited Alamo. It was an awesome experience. You definitely can not be late to a showing because the tables are built across the row. The seats are really comfortable. The fish and chips was not very good, but the Irish coffee shake was delicious. The menu looks very healthy. All in all it was a good night out. Everyone should experience this theater at least once.
Great good, great service! Im always finding reasons to watch a movie here
This was the first time I ever came here since when it was the old UA/Movieland theater. A great experience with the servers bringing you the food and drinks while you watch the movie, and I do like the no call, no text policy. Also you have to arrive by the time the trailers end, otherwise you cant get in. Will definitely return!
Good beer, pizza was good but most food options are blah for the price
This is the only way to watch a movie. After the Alamo experience its hard to go to the movies the traditional way anymore.Yes some of the food/drink items are more expensive, but I only go to the movies 1-3 times a year so I dont mind splurging a few times a year. Its never crowded, very strict with noise/cell phone disruption, can enjoy an adult beverage while watching a movie and the menu is excellent.Even though it can be costly I think its something adults should try at least once for the experience.
This place is amazing. Smaller venues. Respectful movie goers. Great customer service and waiters with a great selection of food and beers. Highly recommended.
Much better than iPix. Beer is great, food is ok, but overall experience is very good.
To order:-Menu is under the table, between two metal brackets (low profile).-Youll see white prices of paper and these small things stick things that are actually the pens you use.-Write your order on a sheet.-Place sheet of paper with your order in front of you so that an attendant comes to take the sheet.-They will repeat your order to you.-Confirm or correct.Your done. Now youre a pro at ordering at this place. Its simple and you go through it once, youve gone through it a hundred times. No fear :)
Good beer selection.. more options for food would be nice but overall clean with great service
The good. Seats are great and matinee pricing is cheap. The bad. They used to have great affordable coffee, but then changed the menu. Before you would get an entire French press equal to two cups of coffee. Now for the same price and the same menu description, they give you only a small cup of coffee. It went from a great deal to completely over priced.
Tonight was Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers at its best. It was a “perfect storm” of great food, great service, great timing and a great movie. I have been visiting Alamo Drafthouse since they opened. I loved the concept when I first heard they were coming to town. It is a tricky dance that they perform each night, balancing food service with a reverence for audience enjoyment without disruption. I admit that the food quality has been inconsistent over the years, but tonight was perfect. I know - it’s burgers and fries, but that CAN be messed up. Perfectly cooked burger. Best fries I’ve had in a while. Thanks Alamo!!Also - go see On the Basis of Sex.
This place has almost become our default theater. Its expensive but if you treat it like any other theater and just get sodas and popcorn its on par. When you start getting actual food and alcohol it starts adding up. That said the food is pretty good. Weve had the pizza and mozzarella sticks. I also got the beyond meat burger and Im not a vegetarian but it was tasty. Their beer selection is pretty good but it could rotate a bit more often.
What a fantastic concept. Good food and drink served while watching a newly-released movie. Great service and reasonably priced.
Very comfortable seating. Love the snack service provided at your seat.
I love this theater. The seats are comfy (with arm rests that lift up!), the tickets are a decent price, and the food is surprisingly good. They have a standard menu that includes appetizers salads, sandwiches, pizza, and shakes, but for almost every movie Ive attended there, they also have a few dishes based on the film, which I find so cool. The Alamo is also really good about ensuring quiet, even with the food coming in and out during the film. You write down your order on a card and stand it upright in the table; staff comes by and takes the card, and towards the end of the film, they drop off the check. I would definitely recommend this place if youre looking for a movie and a good meal.
Alamo Drafthouse used to be one of my favorite movie theaters until last weekend. My husband and I took the grandkids to see Lion King which they have been anxiously awaiting to see for over a month. Before the movie starts, we attempt to order our food, and are grilled by our server as to how old the children are and are told that the policy is there are no children allowed in the theater. We would have to leave even as we had paid for 3 adult tickets. I expressed to the server that this is a kids movie and that the kids are excited to watch it and I do not want to disappoint them. She spoke to her manager, Stephanie who came over and asked how old were the children were and I then repeated what I had told the server. She then explained that she would make and exception and allow us to stay but we would have to pay full price for the children who sat in our laps the whole entire time. Then continued to lecture us if the kids cry then take them out which to me is obvious and they were super well behaved. I agreed as to not upset the children but what a horrible policy for childrens movies!Get it together Alamo! We spent over $200 between tickets and food and will be now choosing i-pic instead!
Excellent combination of dinner and a movie. Love their events. Their staff is Wonder, and event organization is lovely as well.
Everytime I visit my family in NY my brother brings me here we love it!! And he frequents it often with my son!!!
Always enjoy the rotation in beer selections at our local Drafthouse. The food, service. and movies are always choice.
This is a good place for dinner and a movie, although it can be a bit expensive if you arent careful what you order. They offer an endless popcorn bowl, with butter, or if you would like, they have a small selection of other flavors to add as well. The wait staff is friendly, and will tell you the way to order items or refills. I have been here several times and would highly recommend it. An important note, if you want to go here to see a blockbuster new movie, buy your tickets online ahead of time. Another plus of the Alamo is they will show classic movies, and sometimes have special events for those movies, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The fact that you can order food and drinks and be served them like a restuarant while youre watching a movie is very unique but the theater is extremely outdated. Seats are very uncomfortable when you compare them to AMC theaters and the theater I was in was so small. Just lack luster truthfully. Not to mention they are fairly expensive.
This used to be one of my go to places.
Though limited in size, its my favorite movie going experience. Staff is nice enough and food is great. Would do it again. I usually do.
Our new favorite place to see movies! Comfortable seating, in-movie food and drink service (both of which have always been delicious) and a no-nonsense approach to texting and talking.
Fried pickles are delicious, they do all sorts of special events, and they have a surprising selection of liquor. Plus, if you get to your film half an hour early, you can see some REALLY special footage (you really never know what youre going to get) curated specifically for the movie youre about to see. sometimes its funny recaps of the series thus far of youre seeing a sequel, the history of a particular comic book.character of youre seeing the latest big reboot; The Interview treated punctual viewers to rare North Korean propaganda cartoons, Detective Pikachu was preceded by old Japanese Pokemon commercials, Jojo Rabbit had a couple of Taika Waititis old 48HR Film Festival submissions. And the weird seasonal menu specials are usually really yummy.
Really enjoy coming here. Dont do it as often as Id like but service is great. Food is pretty good, if you like your wings spicy definitely get the extra hot. Great selection of draft beers. A good time. Have to come back for one of these funky theme nights
A great experience despite a chilly theater and overloud sound
Absolutely horrible service. You can’t sneak in any candy or food because the waiters are down your back threatening to “throw you out without refund.” All they want is for you to buy their highly overpriced food. I couldn’t even enjoy the movie! No wonder why nobody is ever in there. Never going there again.
Favorite movie theater. I love how they take phone use and talking serious. I love the beer selection and chicken tenders DON’T forget the unlimited popcorn
We saw the Fruits Basket premiere here and loved it! The food is pricey, but the service is good and it was a really nice experience. I liked how, before the standard movie previews, Alamo Drafthouse played a bunch of Japanese commercials and short films to set the right mood for an anime screening.
Comfortable seats, food and drinks and oh the movie as well!
Great place. Great experience. Brought my nephew to see the new Avengers movie and the manager was awesome. Brought the food out on time and was courteous. Great experience overall.
Love the place. Good theater and great food.
Love the Alamo! Incredible beer selection and the food is as good as what you could get in a normal pub. Solid craft pizzas and sandwiches. The seats are very comfortable, and their strict rules about phone usage and talking during the movie ensure you have a pleasant experience. Servers are good about not being in line of sight, and having them deliver your drinks during the movie adds to the experience.
What a foolish concept to try enjoying a movie while waitstaff is interuptng throughout. First I was given a menu in the dim light of a theater seat. I could not possibly read the description of my selection. I carry a cell phone and have had to use it in restaurants to shed light on pretentiously designed menu pages. Unfortunately here they boast of expeling anyone for doing exactly that. I cant imagine who this novelty was intended for but it is certainly not anyone who loves movies or food. This experience could be much better at home with a remote control equipped with a pause button. Surely it would be cheaper to buy a Blu-ray and frozen pizza. AG cyberenity@gmail
Without a doubt, my favorite place to see a movie. The waiters are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend getting a shake with some cookies. Makes the movie going experience even better. Speaking of which, youll never have to worry about anyone talking around you or texting their friend because thats not allowed. You can actually enjoy the movie without listening to someone elses conversation. If youre in the neighborhood stop on by for a movie and escape the summer heat. Its worth it.
Good service and good food the bar is also good
On September 14, 2019, there was a fire drill and everyone had to evacuate the theater. The evacuation process was extremely disorganized and it was apparent that the employees had no idea what to do. What made things worse was that throughout the process a lot of people had their credit cards taken to pay for the food they ordered. Everyone waited in a chaotic state in front of the theater until we got our credit cards returned. I will never go to the Alamo again and I will make sure to tell people of this horrid experience. Many of us couldn’t even go back to see the movie due to the fire drill and did not receive a refund. Worst movie theater experience in my life!
We love the Alamo. I surprised my husband with tickets to the original Odd Couple. I love the fact that you can see new releases and have the chance to see some classics too. Food is better than standard movie theatre fair. Love that you are served right at your seat. They use real butter on the popcorn and make great Shakes. They also show great old shorts before the coming attractions. I would recommend you try it at least once. Just dont plan on using your phone or talking during the movie. They will warn you once and then youll be asked to leave.
Greatest movie theater ever. Awesome food
