Great place for awards ceremony. The cayetef food was delicious. Real upscale night time social atmosphere. Minimum engagement with the staff but the people at the door were friendly... This event was hosted by the Yakima Herald News Paper. Beautiful ceiling arrangement that hung down that gave the eyes something lovely to gaze upon while tracking up the spiral feeling stairs. Nice place!

The Capitol is a Yakima landmark and also in my heart. I remember my 1st trip to the Capitol when I was about 5 to see Sesame Street Live and I was enamored with the beauty and ambiance of the theatre. Through the years I have seen many performances from The Nutcracker to David Copperfield to Gabriel Iglesias, this latest performance I went to may have been the best though. An American in Paris was so positively incredible and covered the whole range of human emotions. Thank you again for a wonderful experience and for making every night out at the Capitol a night to remember.

Good acoustics, but the seating is terribly uncomfortable. The seats are angled wrong, and exceptionally too small for an average person. I am a tad on the larger size (not huge), and I had to squish myself tightly to sit. Even though I made myself as small as possible, I was still awkwardly touching the strangers on either side of myself. As I looked around, even smaller folk, say a skinny 14 year old, were in the same predicament. This theater is in desperate need of an overhaul.

Visually Stunning, Audibly Challenged. I saw the Russian Ballet Nutcracker November 2018. I paid a pretty penny primarily to hear this masterwork in all of its musical (audio) glory. The sets, dancers, costumes, and venue were visually magnificent. However, the sound was reproduced recorded music. That would be all right, but the sound system made it sound like it was emanating from a 1982 Lloyds, or Soundesign, boom box. The highs were not crisp, the low end was muddy, and the volume was insufficient to emulate a live orchestra. Very disappointed. Come on, guys n gals, spend 20 grand or so and upgrade the sound system.

The building is amazing. However, the conduct of staff should not be over looked. I understand using the lazer point to discourage someone from recording a performance, but I didnt need it in my eyes. Lazers in the eyes could have caused a siezure, which I am prone to. I was only took a picture and the staff thought it was ok to disrupt the performance and blind me. Shame on the staff for ruining a performance with their carelessnessAnd the audio system needs work. I went to three performances this past weekend and each spot I sat in the place I could barely hear the groups.

This is a historical theatre beautifully remodeled. It has a painted ceiling, balcony, and great accoustics. It is very large but for listening there is not a bad seat in the house. It features off Broadway musicals, a symphonic orchestra and choir, many local performers, and much more.

Architecturally stunning. A well planned live entertainment facility. Weve now visited a few times to enjoy the heartfelt hard work and musical talents of our Amazing Yakima Symphony and their guest artists.Attending events at Capital Theatre has become a family tradition of sorts for our family since moving to Yakima 3 years ago. My 14 year old and her best friend (who comes with us) look forward to attending everytime. Planning their dress and appearance to present themselves as ladies.Having Capitol Theatre in our Yakima community and the access to the arts it provides make it an invaluable asset.

Went to see comedian Ron White. The volume was too low on the sound system making it difficult to hear. Their refreshment area was severely understaffed and we had to wait 45 minutes for a beverage. The theater is nice in size but the seats are small and the aisles are narrow. The theater was also very warm in an unpleasant way.
