Trailhead Park Playground

Good environment, good place for birthday parties or picnics, it is kids safe, has gazebos with tables, it also has grills, has the play area and a splash area for the kids to get wet. It is well maintained. Reminder to parents always clean up after your self and instruct your children so the can clean their own mess.

Love taking the kid here! So many different thing for kids to do. Swings, slides, climbing areas, balance structures and plenty of picnic tables for the parents to relax at or to break for lunch. There is also a really decent sized splash pad for the kids to cool down in. Perfect little hidden gem.

So many things for your kids to do for all ages probably up to 12 on the playground. However, it is not enclosed with a fence, so you must be very cautious with kids who wander. There are also a lot of random people walking by at any given time. I recommend if you have more than one kid to have someone else with you to help. Other than that, great playground!

My daughter loves this park! She can go from playing on the swings to the water splash pad and back how ever many times she want. Very clean bathrooms nice all around

Brand new playground! Not full shade but still some which does allow for playing during the florida heat midday. Splash pad is always a favorite and plenty of open spaces and picnic table space.

Fantastic playground! City of Winter Haven has hit it out of the ballpark on thus one! Well maintained and clean. Best part is that the entire playground area is covered either in thick Astroturf or padded playground foam. No rocks, dirt, mud or grass stains. Police patrol in golf carts during the day. Lots of covered picnic tables for kids and adults. Water splash park wasnt operating the day we were there buts it looks nice. Great job Winter Haven!!!

The park was not packed and it was very well maintained. I am extremely impressed with the upkeep of this park and it’s facilities. The park offers so much and is completely free. The children can have a lot of fun here. I would come here every day if I could.

This was our grandsons ( and ours!) favorite place!! Not only was the play ground and splash pad amazing, but so were the people we met!!

Park was nice, well maintained. We liked the fountain deal for the kids to splash around in.Only two things I would have about it on the negative side would be, too crowded with the COVID thing going around, and the chlorine smell was really strong. Although in fairness that was probably done out of caution for the COVID thing again.

Such a wonderful environment for children they have a section where the water shoots up so they can play on a hot day they have several different playgrounds with lots of swings and slides and rock climbing and everything it is fantastic lots of room to. They also have picnic tables areas in the shade and there are separate bathrooms

Beautiful and clean. My kids love it!!!

Free city splash pad. Great way to keep the kids safe and cool on a hot day. Having the splash pad within the playground area makes it easy to watch your kids in both areas at the same time.

Theres an updated look and I like the design alot. The dry park is getting an upgrade also and is still under construction

Absolutely loved it. Had my daughters 2nd birthday party there. All the kids loved being able to go from the splash pad to the playground. We have found our new favorite park

My kids love to come here and play. There is a lot of things to climb and play on. the children at the park seem friendly to each other and play well together. melting pot of people. also has disabled play sets and bathroom. Plenty of places for picnicking..

This place was a lot of fun but make sure your kids are seriously aware that the splash pad is super slippery. My children wore their water shoes and that really helped but there were children slipping and sliding all around taking spills and someone could be seriously injured. Also be aware that children jump back and forth between the park area and the splash pad so slides, swings, and stairs are often wet.

Cute park to take the kids to. There was quite a bit of litter on the ground when I visited. People dont seem to pick up after themselves very well here. Ill most likely make the trip to lakeland to go to the common grounds playground if I know it will be a park day.. but great if you want to stay local.

One of my granddaughters favorite places. She really enjoys all the different things to do there from swinging to climbing to playing in the splash pad area. Very pleased to see us have such a kid-friendly area. One suggestion would be too work on adding a little bit more shade. Some of the equipment gets very warm in the sunlight, and little hands burn easily.

The kids had fun for free. Was great. Adults able to sit in shade and watch there kids or join in on the fun

Descent park. Equipment works as intended but there is a swing missing and the safety features in the chair swing do not work. Overall its still my favorite park in the area. The water play area gives it a boost of fun for the kiddos during the warmer days/months.

One of the best childrens parks Ive ever been too. 3 shaded seating areas a public bathroom close by. In the playground the ground itself was that solid rubber surface. The best part of thia place is the splash pad! We ALL know how hot it gets during the day at the parks. This spalsh pad is everything for when it gets way to hot at the play ground. Plenty of parking on both sides of the park. Plus theres plenty of returants nearby including a publix if you wanna go do a run for snacks! Highly reccomend you bring the kids here!

Just need more tables for people to come and have parties at thats all do not have enough tables

My boys had so much fun here!

Spacious. Nice shaded areas. Two big covered patios with about 6 picnic tables under each. I didnt see any grills. Bathrooms were clean. I do wish that there was more sun coverage in the splash pad area though. Overall, would visit again.

The fact that this place has a splash pad is pretty awesome, and the playground equipment is also pretty decent. My biggest complaint is the lack of shade over the equipment. Sure there is shaded seating and tables, but zero shade over the equipment. In the Florida sun most of the equipment is physically too hot to the touch to actually play on. For that reason we only take the kids before 11am or after 5pm.

Nice clean park, love to go there in the mornings with the baby when the sun is not burning yet! Hehe

Children like varied activities for all shapes and sizes. Access areas had picnic tables and some shade. Splash pad to cool down in summer heat. Bring your own food and beverages as grilling is not permitted.

My kids love going here and have for years now! They love being able to play in the water and on the playground! And they love playing in the water!! What a prefect way to cool down on a hot day!!

Park is really great for the kiddos!! Has a splash pad along the side the park!

Clean playground, love that it has the splash pad too. The swings need to get lubed up though, theyre incredibly squeaky.

Some of the equipment is getting worn out. Great place to start/get on trail. Easy to get to out of. Kids loved it.

I love this park. Its small, quiet and well kept. The bathrooms needs a little updating and routine cleaning. Many random people come into the restrooms which is not safe or clean.

Great place, fun for the kids, fake grassed area for the kids so no alargies. The water pad is a great touch and the equipment is sturdy and innovative.

Great place! My grand daughter loves it so much. So I enjoy it as well... her face lighting up means everything. Not to mention restrooms are always clean!

I love that they keep the part clean the few times I have been there it has been clean when I arrive by it is clean Im happy that the kids have a nice little water park close by to go to so far so good I hope it stay that way

An excellent park with great climbing structures. The Splash pad was fun as well. I recommend this park for any age playing.

Great new park. Didnt give a five star though due not enough shade in the playground part. Anything not shaded gets really hot in the summer. The splash pad is a big plus. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking when we went.

Not too busy these days. We went midweek in the afternoon and were the only ones there for over an hour.

A great little water park and great playground equipment center of town.. one more jewel in the city of Winter Haven. dont like braggin so much trying to keep Winter Haven the best kept secret in the county

Very nice park for kids. There are a lot of things for them to do. Grounds and equipment are maintained with plenty of parking. While there is shade over tables and around the perimeter from trees there is no shade over the play ground itself. So, if going middle of the day ensure kids have shoes and either avoid the slides or have long pants or shorts on.

Much fun for my grandson.. splash pad wad perfect for a hot day but the playground was a little tooooo hot for him.. not much shade in that area.. still recommend for a few hours of fun

I love bringing my kids here on those ridiculously hot days. This park does tend to fill up fast, so its best to get there earlier so you can leave before the bigger crowd starts rolling in.

It was a great place for kids to enjoy their summer or even Florida heat by cooling off at this waterpark for free. It could use a bit more shade but in all, plenty of ground for kids to cover and enjoy!Also, it is accessible for those in wheelchairs so thats a plus! Only reason for 4 stars is because of lack of shade but just being real, still a great experience though!

We go to this park often! My kiddos love the splash pad and I love the covered seating. On Saturdays there are often parties taking up the picnic table so I sit in other shaded areas. Def. Recommend wearing water shoes as the splash pad area gets slippery! The only reason why it didnt get 5 stars is that often the patrons of the park leave their trash all over the place...esp. on Saturdays.

Very different play sets, which is why the kids loved it....too cold for the water part unfortunately...

It’s a nice playground and I loved the mini library, we enjoyed reading and playing

The park itself is great. The splash area would be great if it were designed so that the turf was not slippery. My 2 yr old granddaughter has a huge knot on the back of her head from the 3rd time she slipped on the wet surface and fell. There is cushion, non-slip turf for the playground area, why dont they have the same safety feature for the water area, which is clearly more dangerous.

Its a really nice park and clean. The water pad is very slippery but my girls love it.

Love taking my lil boy out to the park there. Hes learning to walk, so the artificial grass, and some areas of rubber on the ground is very toddler friendly. A definite relief to know he wont get badly hurt if he was to stumble and fall.

It is a really fun park. Sat in the shade and watched my grandbabies play. Everyone was nice and the kids were so cute!

The play area is fine. Nothing wrong there. As for the splash pad, VERY DANGEROUS!! Do not let you children play in the water! Very slippery! I wouldnt ever go here again unless they fixed the ground. This splash pad as a lawsuit waiting.

Park was clean, and my child enjoyed it. But they need to update and clean more often the bathrooms. Womens bathroom was not working the day I went with my family.

My kids love this place. Bring towels if you dont want your car seats wet. It is a lot of fun.

Love love love this park! Gets kids to be more active than a normal swing and slide play park, and the splash pad- AMAZING! We gladly come all the way from south sebring to spend the day here!

This place is so safe for your children Im an empty nester turn it down just to sit and enjoy the kids laughter but if you are just a person with no kids cant stay there for me though sad but for parents with kids thats fantastic

This park is smaller than it looks in the photos. Also it smells like garbage and looks very worn out.

We found this place by chance and the kids loved it. Lots to run around and play on here. Different and creative play equipment. Not just your typical swings and slides.

Nice clean beautiful park with a lovely splash pad. the best thing about the park is the race track that guides you to different age groups of the park. definitely a 6 star park

Really cool park. Has a playground and splash area for the kids. Was beginning to wonder where the parks were in winter haven for kids. This one is super cool. Kids had a blast, for free, for a couple of hours.

Nice playground and big splash pad BUT the splash pad is extremely slippery and dangerous! I must have watched a dozen kids slip, fall and hit their heads on the pavement including my own child! There is not enough shaded spaces to sit and watch your children play and there are no bbq grills for cooking out. It is what it is and thats it, meh.

Lots of shaded areas to sit while the kids play in the splash pad.There is also a play ground area but the rubber surface was very hot & it fried my kids feet.

It was fun my kid loved it and it was convenient to have both water park and slide in the same area.

1st time at this park. Have been wanting to take our little here for sometime. Nice place, however, no shade over the playground equipment. My son couldnt swing or go on the slide because he would have gotten burned. Splash pad is extremely slippery. We stopped on a whime and our son wore what he had on. Suggest water shoes at all times. Will go back but hopeful they put covers over the playground area.

Fun park for the kids. We wish there was more covered seating. Too often the covered seating is occupied by birthday parties.

This was an awesome addition to winter haven. Kids can enjoy getting wet, running around in the playground area.. As parents there is places for us to sit and have a visual to our kids. Its very clean and fun looking. The bathrooms are clean as well. Parking area is not too far from the park.

Beautiful park campus overlooking the lake. Theres even a splash pad for younger kids. Clean facilities, well-maintained grounds.

Wonderful park for children. Ground is covered with padding so as to lessen injuries on the fall. They have equipment for babies as young as six months on up to teenagers. Also features a water section that has water coming up into the air and children can play in that on a hot summer day. Recommended for families with children, have taken my granddaughter there and well be sure to take her again.

Great facilities and great location! Plus some nice shades over the structures so sunburn isnt as much of an issue.
