Very nice rec center with plenty of outdoor activities to keep kids busy for a couple of hours. The grounds around all the activity areas are well maintained as well as all the structures. The kids were all well behaved that were there this day and none used a single curse word and showed only respect and kindness towards one another even the young men on the basketball court(ages 8 to 15).

Nice recreation center with community events, meeting space, outdoor shelter, playground, spray ground, and pool. Safe and new equipment.

This weeks exhibit on W-S African-American history is outstanding. Presented by Heritage 365 and discussed today by State Senator Paul Lowe at a WS/FC Schools event moderated by teachers and the administration, it covers (1) health care greats; (2) activism and civil rights; (3) educational and religious institutions and breakthroughs that changed citizens lives; and (4) business and commerce in the African-American community since the late 1800s. Please see this pop-up exhibit before it is taken down next week. I hope it will be permanently installed somewhere.Regarding the community center itself, it was busy with kids playing basketball and being guided well by City We Play staff, indoors and out. Staff are clearly doing everything that I know they should: providing a safe place, encouraging kids in good health and behavior, connecting with community partners/leaders (which I saw today), and providing longevity for the community (e.g., Chris Paul played here on a sign).

It isnt one of our favorite splash pads. Its right outside the swimming pool fence, which seems odd. A lot of families have cookouts and parties there on the weekends too, which has the tendency to make me feel like were invading their event.
