Friendly staff. Good prices for concessions. We love supporting this local business especially during COVID. Its a great way to start safe while still being able to have fun.

Nice theatre, the room we watched the movie was smaller, but cozy.. just the way we like it. They have a $2 Tuesday deal, decent concession prices, plenty of parking and the good customer service is greatly appreciated. We will definitley come back when were in town :)

I love that they opened a drive in movie!!! We went tonight and it was very fun! However, I do suggest that they either get the traditional drive in speakers, or some big speakers outside so people do not have to use their cars and phone. If we are paying for a movie those conveniences should be provided. I know all of the drive in movies are doing that now, but it would be so much better with some kind of speakers. We may try to buy a little radio and bring next time...

Another family tradition in the making; we love this place. We went to see Jaws here and have tickets to see more shows. Best of all, they have the best prices in town. Theres another drive in, but their carload prices are four times higher than Marketplace Drive In. Were sticking with these guys.

Love Taking My Kids Here, Cant Beat A $3 Family Movie Date...

Screen is decent size only thing is the distracting lights and traffic on Peters Creek beyond it...but its the best you can get during covid. Went Friday before Halloween for Ghostbusters. $13.50 for the car and $5 for some candy and open restrooms. Fun experience!

So nice to get out and see a movie! Clean bathrooms and nice concessions. Love that you choose your space based on the size of your vehicle.

First time watching a movie here. Staff extremely friendly. Theater is very clean, bathrooms clean, seats are comfortable however might not be if it were a 2-3 hour movie. Good quality picture. Price is great ! Concessions are still a little expensive but much cheaper than other theaters. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent cinema. Good screens. Good sound! Good pop corn! And the most important, very economic prices. You can go alone or with all your relatives or family and you will have a good movie and a good snack for few dollars.

Its not bad considering the screen is a painted side if tge building. Wish there were more options available on site for food though.

Went to go see Underwater this Saturday and was my first time there. The people were friendly, the picture quality was good and the prices were great!Popcorn was good and the location felt safe.The only downside is that the seats are definitely not state of the art by any means, and would be rather uncomfortable in a longer movie. But you must remember that you are only paying a mere 3 dollars a ticket.You get what you pay for and Ill be back for sure. Highly recommend

Ive been coming here for years. Since there is new management, its brighter in the lobby and kept very clean. You dont have to worry about sticky floors from sodas and popcorn/candy paper all of the floor. The seats are cushioned & comfortable. Its a nice environment to watch movies. The movie Rambo Last Blood was exceptionally GREAT especially Driving from Davidson county! The film had great lighting, the movie theater smelled and looked clean and fresh. The attendees were working staying busy with the wide varied duties that they were expected for customers safety and enjoyment. Bailey sold me the tickets for the best Rambo movie Ive ever seen, and she was quick to know the movie times, pleasant in answering questions, and she encouraged ticket sales.

Best theater I have been to in a bit. Great price (3 bucks for the movie) and its CLEAN! Much better than the place I am used to. The sound is also so much better, too. Will definitely be going again.

I use to love going there until one time transaide dropped me off early ... about 45 minutes. Sometimes there are a lot of riders on Transaide...& Other days none but me. When that happens I arrive very early to my appointments. I have no alternative transportation. I m in a wheelchair n unable to go far. So when the owner, came outdoors ....I said I was cold n asked if I could wait inside. It was winter time and I was very cold. He grumbled yes then proceeded to tell me how I should not arrive early and expect them to open up so I cud sit inside.I had always bragged about this cinema b4 that day. b4 they were always very friendly. I told many of my friends about how nice it was there and friendly. My friends started going there. They especially liked the Tuesday nite discounts. I went a few more times and felt I was imposing due to the attitude of the manager. So I havent been back in years. I.m not easily offended & always give ppl a 2nd chance,...but after the last few times....& How uncomfortable I felt....I have not returned in years. The wife who is also an owner is very nice.

My wife and I go to Marketplace Cinemas often to see first rate movies at very reasonable prices. Their prices for refreshments are also very reasonable compared to other theaters. Yes, it can use some updating but it is always clean. The staff is always friendly.

Considering the price you pay to see a movie is nice but the theater inside was not clean, popcorn all over the floor, garbage bags over seats, popcorn was flavorless, sticky floors and the movie sound was very low. Definitely needs a huge upgrade to the chairs, ripped curtains and surround sound and employees... I went many years ago and it looked the same, very decrepit and beat looking. If I were in charge, this would never happen or look this way, ever! Was hopeful for a change but whomever is running this/owns it, needs to become aware and change things, otherwise it will become a closed facility like its surroundings. Will not be going back until changes are made... Smh

The staff at Marketplace is always cheerful, adding to the benefits of a discounted priced movie! They usually get a good variety, from the smaller, independent art films to the expected big-budget blockbusters. The location is also fantastic.

I love Marketplace Cinema! They charge a fair price to see current movies. They also have a fair price for popcorn and drinks. This place is soo quaint, homey, cozy, and sweet!! On the occasion that we come here it has always been a pleasant experience almost like being at Santas work shop!! Aaaaand dont ask me why the comparison.... ITS JUST SO!!!! but nonetheless I love this place, it still gives the classic feel of an original theater. No video games, no wine, no food... just films, family, fun, and junk food

Great older theater with bargain prices. Not only are the tickets in the $2.00 to $3.00 range, but so is the popcorn! - a bargain any way you look at it. There are no frills, but its clean with clean restrooms and very convenient parking. You really cant beat it! A real gem in Winston-Salem and a great way to see a good movie that you might have missed at the other theaters.

For the price i paid, this place is really good, for example, you can watch a full movie full HD and good sound quality for only 3 dollars now ofcourse add a fountain drink and it will cost you another 4 dollars, so in general you pay about 3-8 dollars for a decent experience. In other places you pay 10 dollars just for the movie, but its not even near the comfortable seats you get in lets say amc and for this price i dont expect to be sitting on a super comfortable couch with heaters and a curved screen and thats ok, its definitely worth what you pay for.

One of my favorite places. Buy a ticket for $3, get a bucket of popcorn and drinks for a few bucks more, and you are set for the night. They always have a pretty good variety of showings. Discount to $2 on Tuesdays. Its an old place, no frills, but the staff is very friendly, and gives you the theater experience without the high price. I always wait for movies to show here, and feel great supporting a local business.

$3 movie was good. Popcorn was movie theater quality (very good). Theater was nostalgic & very clean. Weve been here before & will return.

This has been a favorite for years. They try to keep the prices low. Recently upgraded the outside and looks nice.

$2 movies on Tuesdays along with $2 medium buttered popcorn, $2 fountain drink and $2 for candy.The movies might be a few weeks after the primary release date, but two people can see a movie with soda and popcorn for $12. In most theaters, you couldnt even get two people in to see a movie with no drink or snack.

While the theater isnt the most remodeled or up to date looking place, their popcorn is fresh and they are fantastically priced, especially on Tuesdays when tickets, medium drinks/popcorn, and candy are all $2 each.

Ive been here several times with no issue. Tonight, however, the projector broke and we were unable to see the Incredibles 2. The owner/manager guy was very apologetic and gave people the option to see another movie that had already started or to receive a refund on tickets. Since the other movies were already 20 minutes in, we decided to just cut our losses and get our refund. The hang up we had was that we spent $18 on concessions that we otherwise could have spent much less at a gas station for the same product...and we were just going to go home. We had a conversation about whether to ask for a refund on concessions outside and my boyfriend approached the lady in the ticket booth. She was rude the entire interaction. I can understand the losses that they have suffered tonight and the amount of money they will need to spend on repairs, but there was no reason to be as rude as she was. We would have accepted half of the concession price gladly, considering we had already started eating the popcorn and drinking the beverages. Her attitude, however, was so off-putting that we took the money she begrudgingly handed to us and walked away. As we turned to leave, she loudly exclaimed That sucks! And when we asked her to repeat it, she told us to have a great night with a smile and tone you would use for someone you hated, yet were expected to be nice to. The movie theater is not bad, but I feel bad putting any money into her pocket, as I can only assume she was part owner or manager of the theater.

You pay more for the popcorn than for the movie ticket.... which is good...!!!

We just took our family here this afternoon for the first time and were super impressed! Clean environment and great prices!! Our family of 4 got tickets, a large popcorn and 2 large drinks for $25. Wow!

Floor was sticky, my seat was terrible, but when I moved over one, it was good. So hit or miss. Not a big fan of their popcorn but the sound quality and the picture was good. Cant beat the price.

Good place for a cheap movie. The theater is reasonably well kept up for a budget location. It is a good place to catch a flick that you think might be better on the big screen but your not convinced enough to pay full price at the larger multiplexs. Drinks, popcorn, and snacks run just a little cheaper than at the major theater chains.

You cant beat the prices here. You may not see a movie first run, but still get to see it on the big screen. It was clean and not overcrowded. This was a fun time with the grandkids that didnt break the bank. It was around $20 for 4 with popcorn and drinks.

We havent been to this theater in years until today..It used to be dirty and run down and those attending appeared less than desirable...We wouldnt even consider going to it...That has definitely changed now! The place appears completely remodeled and was super clean...The employees were courteous and the prices were amazing! $20 for everything! 2 tickets, popcorn, soda and candy was more a bargain than I imagined Id see again..Its not stadium seating, reclining chairs, IMAX or alllll the luxurious options weve became accustomed to...However, a theater that will offer independent films as well as the almost first run variety is welcome to me...My wife, who is very picky about the cleanliness and security of the theaters we visit, was very apprehensive before we went today...She was pleasantly surprised and agreed wed be visiting again...Give them a chance to show you what we experienced....It was GREAT!

For a budget cinema, I was not expecting much from this location. But went on a Tuesday and EVERYTHING was $2. It was amazing and the quality of the screen, sound, and atmosphere was great. We will drive from Greensboro again to come here.

This theater is wonderful. go there only, and this is why, i am elderly and not as sure footed as i used to be. parking is right outside, easy to walk into, no hills or stairs to climb. wonderful old fashioned chair seats, not recliners (good for your back) great people, staff, popcorn. $2.50 for tickets, simple, easy, thank youMaudie, was amazing

We love it because we can afford to take the family! Terrific refillable popcorn bucket that is a major value all year! The movies are much older or what is available generally a month or so after releasing, but we really dont care how new the movie is. We are thrilled to have discovered this place and we drive from Mount Airy to take the kids. Always clean and friendly service!
