The place has a good amount of sanitizing stations, its a place to bring kids and enjoy with the family so be mindful of it being noisy.

We love our Carolina Thunderbirds great bunch of young handsome men playing hockey. The staff is very friendly and the mascots are so funny and friendly. Its a fun and safe and family place to go with your kids

Love the special seating! Highly recommend for every hockey game, But there’s really not a bad spot in the whole place!

We want for the Girl Scouts skate event. I love these events because there is an instructor if you want to participate in the learning session or you can just skate around. Noth my girl scouts had a great time and I did too, even though I fell once. I would definitely recommend the ice skating at the annex.

Very nice ice skating! We bought tickets for 12-4 and arrived at 12:45. All of the children support push carts were rented out. Being from Florida I had no idea this was a separate rental. If you need this item arrive at opening to guarantee you can get your hands on this. My husband had to leave with out 3 year old after 3 rounds. We didn’t want to spoil it for our 9 and 16 year olds first time.

Had a great time at the Annex and the ACC Hockey Tournament action. Tons of stuff to look at and good selection of food and beverages. Always a fun place to visit and catch some ice hockey!

Well.... The annex has the feel of a high school gym, down to the bathrooms but Black Violin was awesome. Definitely enjoyed the show. Its a small venue but they made the most of it.

Ive seen two Carolina Thunderbirds games here and its always a blast. The venue offers decently priced concessions and there is not a bad place to see the action if the game. Definitely worth the trip and cost of seeing some great hockey.

What a fun place to watch hockey! The venue is big enough to not feel crowded and small enough that you cant get lost. Dress warm with hat, coat and gloves. You might even want to take a lap blanket if you tend to be cold by nature. Nothing fancy, just a good ol hockey rink! Hot dogs, beer, popcorn, icecream, candy and sodas were some of the food items I saw for sale. Take the family and friends for some entertaining action on the ice! I hope to return soon.

Very good ice skating place. It is very fun and welcoming, it looks a little old, but it doesnt affect in any way. I have heard the hokey games are very fun. And people enjoy them a lot, my friends always go, I will try to join them very soon. The food store is nice, I liked it. The attention is very good, that lady was sweet. And the bathrooms are okay too.

The event venue provided adequate space and food for the event we experienced. The facility could definitely use a facelift as it’s starting to show the buildings age.

I can only speak for the campground, which isn’t advertised.Excellent price & great location for tailgating WFU games . Since not advertised I can’t give them a bad review for facility. But is obviously not meant to be a “camping spot”. It served our purpose well. And will stay here again. The staff was very friendly. If you need a parking spot for your RV in Winston-Salem (full hook ups) this is perfect

It was great! Everything was great except people smoking everywhere. Being allergic to smoke its not very good when you cant seem to get away from the smell and the smoke. Then you have to use your inhaler.

We visited to watch the Thunderbirds play hockey. The annex is a little dated but is a great place to watch a hockey game. Bring a coat because it is a little chilly inside.

The Dixie Classic Fair is always a great time! I am in favor to keep the name the same for consecutive years to come. The tradition of the name will mean more to the community than it will to change its name that others might take offense to a word. Words create our reality. Changing the name will forever change the fair, and not always for the better.

This place will take you back to the golden days of sports arenass before Coliseums. We saw the Carolina Thunderbirds play and it was packed!! Very fun environment, family favorite and definitely reccomend!

The annex is a great facility. It is where the Carolina Thunderbirds Hockey team plays.

We were there for my sons graduation! It was great until we had to leave then I felt like I was in a sardine can! But it was great!!!

Great place to go ice skating between November and April

Its one of the places youd love to go for events..especially when the Fair comes to town! Its near Wake Forest College & close to MillBook Townhouse Apartments. Its one of those places where you can go on a good day..and park ..and just rest for about a hour, and come away rejuvenated!

You can hang meat in the annex...the airconditioning can freeze a nuclear reactor....in meltdown.....on a hot summer day....on planet Mercury....in a fully involved structure fire.

Great fun place to go for the fair or other events. Lots of parking.

Feels very safe and very organized when there are any events.

Great unload team. Only issue is it appears emany drivers were booked at the same appointment time. But that is not the fault of the unload location.

They have a lot of bridal shows taken place here. Lots of space for vendors and people alike. The only problem I have with the place is that theres not many of them around. Which can be a good thing I guess. Thank you guys for a great time.

Went to lone star concert which was Awesome !!! After the concert was over it was raining really heavy !! One of the usher took mom out to her car in one of the wheel chairs they had at the annexx in the pouring now rain ! Now that what u great service !!! Didnt get his name since I was still inside talking to some friends .

We attended the fair its to bad they changed the name. Lots of intertainment great fair as usual.

Love watching the hockey games. $10 for basic side seats, $12 for general great seats, $14 are closer to the glass, and like $25 for right up against the glass. Concessions and prizes.

(UPDATE: 2/27/18) Ice is in very good condition, bathrooms are good, concessions are good, but not great. Locker rooms Ive heard are small but not terrible. Seating is standard for an arena, and the sight lines for hockey are very good, as long as youre not in the first row behind the penalty boxes. Rental skates are trash, but I deduct no points because theyre all trash at any rink you go to. Solid 9/10

Please add stanchions to your concession areas to keep traffic flowing.

I saw Charlie Daniels here in concert. What an awesome experience it was. At 80 years old the man can still rock and roll! Seating was a little snug in the floor area, so I would recommend a higher seat in the stands next time. The Acoustics was very good and all entrance in and out of the building was not difficult at all. Parking was reasonable at $10 for the event. Recommended from anywhere. ~V.

Great time in hockey game

I play hockey here when they have ice. The locker rooms are a little small, but the league is run well. Communication is excellent. The ice always gets better as the season runs as well. League is set up so each team has an A, B and C line. Its unusual, but I enjoy it. Calling is the best way to find out when there is pick up hockey.

The Carolina Thunderbirds were fun and affordable entertainment for the family on a Friday night. Parking was easy and the atmosphere was family friendly.

Sort of hard to ice skate. I expected it to be 100% easier. I came on a free skate rental day and I accidentally made it through the admission booth without paying. My boyfriend and I are honest though so we went back and paid. Employees did not seem to really be there safety wise. I didnt like it as much as I had anticipated.

The show this past Saturday was not at its best. The sound disameatal was so loud you could not understand the words being said from the stage...least to say the songs being sung. Even the music was just noise!!! If this had been my first concert there it would have been my last.

Nice place. Seats were pretty dirty for having a graduation there .

5 stars for the Annex itself and having the Thunderbirds a home to play at. An absolute blast being there and able to enjoy games there. Im not going to remove a star but, if at some point the seating could be replaced with a more modern wider seating it would make the experience so much more better.

Maintenance has been neglected for years. Chairs are rusted. Bathrooms are good. Concession area above average for this type of event space. Parking is OK if there not a ball game across the street at Wake Forest.

Pretty cool complex. Played hockey here. Just wish places like this would make locker room toilets and showers accessible. People with disabilities and who use wheelchairs DO play sports.
