Had dinner downstairs. Food was good and the wait staff are masked and gloved. Good service. Tuesday is Trivia night and that was fun to listen to.

Its been a great experience out there. Please have in mind you need to have your friends and get ready to have a super time creating memorable moments with the loved one. Totally worth it!

We played the day after a rainy evening. Wet couldnt start to describe the conditions. The course was completely soggy and muddy. Bunkers are not just wet but filled with water. Need drains and sand. The layout nice and challenging. Dont play after rain or on a rainy day. Spent 20 minutes cleaning clubs, shoes, legs. Not impressed.

Fun day on the Blue Heron course. Steady flow of foursomes but not too crowded. Course was in ok condition.

This now a review of golf course and Murdochs.Murdochs. Service was painfullly slow. Waiting 40 minutes for a my burger. Does not look like they have enough staff.Food was okay. Nothing great. It took 45 to get the burger. Tip is included.Took 10 minutes to get the bill. Then they gave free dessert. That would have been a nice touch, it it too took a long time to come.I would avoid restaurant. There are plenty of other restaurants.This review is lengthy, as I typing it waiting for the desert. Wow...they are really slow. If you have read this far, then you know to avoid the place.The golf course review.As for golf club, it looks beautifully maintained. I would guess there is no issue getting a tee time, since I saw only a handful of golfers.

Excellent condition of all greens and friendly staffs

I absolutely Love Fords Colony!! They have championship golf courses, a great staff and top rated facilities and restaurants. Not only did I work there, I have continued to play and visit. Also my niece was married on the first hole of one of the golf courses. Their reception was beautiful.

Greens are beautiful & well kept. Theres water carts keeping you hydrated... Nobody snooty... all welcome!

Celebrated my fathers retirement past night with a big party in the Williamsburg Room. Fords Colony was simply amazing on every level. All night the guests raved about the food, the service, and the beauty of the venue. The event could not have gone better. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard for us. Shay went above and beyond to help us make this event a very a special night. Highly recommended for anyone needing a space to host a special event.

Played Blue Heron today. Course is in great shape... kudos to greens staff and agronomists. Long but fair. Lots of elevation changes and greens were fast but not ridiculously so with no crazy breaks (Ok, #17 was a beast!). Most importantly, our foursome had a blast! Ill be back to try the other 2 courses.

Fords Colony is beautiful community. However, the event space that we were in seemed a bit small and the food was very averge. I guess I was expecting a bit more, simply because of how highly people in this area speaks of Fords Colony.

Not sure to start with the bartender Debra who hid my itemized check because it had gratuity on 3 bottles of water. Pretty shady to try & steal from customers. Or I could go with a $65 twilight with a emotionless pro & poor course upkeep. Course layout is great. But that predates the current owners.

Pleasant seating area on the patio with live music. The inside looked nice too but we stayed outside mostly. Friendly staff, nice place to relax for cocktails.

I attended a wedding here. Honestly, my friends who selected this as their venue didn’t get their money’s worth. During the service, the “members only bar” didn’t bother to keep the noise down. Before the service, the hostess was incredibly rude when I walked into “the members only bar” to get a glass of water since there were no fountains available. She said that I needed to go downstairs to which I promptly ignored and got a glass of water at the bar.

Played the Marsh Hawk course and completely enjoyed the experience. Very challenging course.

We are staying at the Marriott and were walking along side one of the tees adjacent to the Marriott. The starter was about 40 yards from us and said stay on your side and dont come any further . I told him I considering a membership but after his rude behavior there is no way I would ever join this club. His last comment was I dont care . Great ambassador to your club.

Evenin the Winter the grounds are immaculate and the Christmas lights were traditionally beautiful.

Ordered Christmas dinner from the Country Club. Delicious. Fabulous value. Ours served four and we chose double short ribs for the main course. Thought I had to choose sides too but everything listed was included: Green beans, glazed carrots, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, and yeast rolls. Dessert tray: 4 slices cheesecake. 4 slices flourless chocolate cake, white chocolate peppermint bark. Carefully packaged and boxed for pickup, including reheating instructions. Short ribs were meaty, savory and juicy tender accompanied by a full bodied au jus. Green beans crisp tender, mashed potatoes rich and creamy with butter pats, glazed carrots in a subtle citrusy/butter glaze. Cheesecake rivaled our Long Island favorite. I served the dense, rich chocolate cake drizzled with the creme anglaise included and inserted a white chocolate peppermint bark shard. Five stars! I’m a fan! So amazingly flavorful, beautiful, and best of all effortless on my part. I’ll do this as long as it’s offered. Thank you Ford’s Colony Country Club.

Very nice dining and event venue. The exterior is unassuming, even drab. But inside youll find a very nice members-only formal dining room, event spaces, a casual restaurant, as well as a pro shop.

I think if you are a member of the club and get their discount, eating at Murdoch’s makes a little bit of sense, but if you are not a member, it is downright insane to pay what you pay for food there, unless you enjoy setting your money on fire and watching it burn. Also never had a server come out and refill my water, even though I was the only one out there on the patio, and two servers came out and were talking trash at each other while getting things set up for the dinner crowd. Which is great when there is a mandatory 15% service charge.

Went to Murdochs for dinner last night. They had the prime rib special. $30 for prime, baked potato, asparagus, and salad. Food and service was excellent! Plus, $3.75 yuengling drafts. Conner was the sole bartender and he did an awesome job of balancing the bar with food service. Will definitely be back!

Been here several times and I keep learning new things about what it took to survive in the Colony and then how folks prospered in the colonial world. Amazing when one thinks about it. It wasa mans world where women held specific positions of responsibility which exceeded some of the rights of men when one thinks about it more deeply....philosophical it is a mans world; practically it isnt. Slaves make many day to day decisions as do women. Yes, Men do the long term and directional decisions but is the women and slaves who make the decisions day to day. Not much discussed in educational environments! For me it is important to think about whos doing what, when and why to make this world work!

Course was in great shape. Not busy so we played at a leisurely pace. Others played through. Rental clubs are verrrrry expensive. I got the greens fee and cart on Groupon. Otherwise the fees would have been too much for me.

We have stayed here many, many years (almost every Thanksgiving since 1998). Whether you stay in the old units or the new, you wont have a bad view or lack of amenities. Over the years, our family has grown, and we make use of the excellent playground in the annex. Also, there are plenty of activities organized by the staff. Dont miss Name That Tune! Its our favorite night of the week.

The greens held iron shots nicely and rolled great.Steven made us feel at home and got us all set up. We played Black Heath and had a great day!

Great resort. Have stayed here many time. Activities at the resort well worth it and there are also many things to do near the resort. I especially enjoyed the golf and cycling.

Fords Colony Country Club is home to three comparable, well-rated and always popular golf courses (Marsh Hawk, Blackheath and Blue Heron). These tree-lined and open parkland layouts should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy.

Attended my sisters wedding here recently. Its not a bad place, though I dont frequent country clubs so dont have much to compare it to. I have no idea whether the country club itself catered or if an outer source was hired, but the catering was great even though they ran out of appetizers a little too quickly. The biggest reason Im marking down is because the bar options were pretty terrible. I dont know if it had anything to do with the money that went into it, or if it usually has few options, but I couldnt get most of the drinks I wanted simply because they didnt have the necessary alcohol or mixers. They didnt even have amaretto, which is like a bar staple. But I guess everything else was alright.

Love the multiple venues from terrace to patio, bistro to resturant. The catering venues also vary from large pavillon to more formal rooms. The wait staff is great and bartenders even better. The pro shop is very helpful. There are three 18 hole courses to keep your interest.

Worst place in Williamsburg. Staff is rude to guests. You feel like you are a bottom dweller on the titanic. Will never come here again. The greens on black heath were dead with GUR all over.
