It was a nice afternoon. All the buildings were accessible except the ones under renovation. Staff was helpful and informative. It is a good way to teach history to the next generation.

The yesteryear village at the South Florida fairgrounds is so cool. It sets back in time as if you were in the late 1800s early 1900sthey dress up as if they were back in time they even serve food that was from back in the day how they were to prep it and or cook it they even have a big smokehouse its really amazing! I always go to the yesteryear village every time I go to the South Florida Fair when it comes around in the middle of January towards the beginning of February of every. if youve never been to yesteryear village give it a try I guarantee youll enjoy it just as much as I do. They also have stuff for the kids to do they have animals in livestock

Very cool place to visit during Halloween time. Takes you back in time. Everyone dressed up in costumes going from house to house. Very cool!

If your interested in a relaxed day-cation this is a great option for the whole family, especially when the fair is in town. Great food that is terrible for you and fun games. Plus the shopping while the fair is here is a fun time. Its a bit expensive, but you will find stuff that is unique and eccentric.

Spooketacular was like Halloween Town. Loved it. All the volunteers were extremely kind and knowledgeable. One house belonged to volunteers grandparents. My son got to sit on the 1920 firetruck and sound the alarm. Great experience for kiddos. Looking forward to the family friendly haunted tour. You were all so wonderful on our visit cant wait to see you again.

Let me just say to disregard the 1 star ratings yesteryear is a great place. you can go with the kids. every year when i go to the south florida fair or any time of year its just amazing. All of the staff is just so kind and they are the reason i come back all the time they help with any questions you have to the best of their ability. Also it is just beautiful there its the best place to go to get away from city life. this place will take you back to the simplest of times. Its good to go if you want to stay away from technology for just a little bit. You can go and breathe in the fresh air and just relax and have a good time. There is also a gift shop that I just love so much. There is also a house that is said to be haunted and you can take the ghost tour.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of restrooms, everything is clean and spaced out nicely; while on our visit there were 350 field trip students and you seriously would never know. For the kiddos definitely bring/wear a bathing suit as they open a fire hose to cool them off.I highly recommend visiting the general store and picking up a souvenir or just browsing, there are some really cool artifacts. Bring your own lunch as the store only offers chips, cookies, candies, and cold drinks (as far as food goes.)Most of the buildings are stroller friendly and some are even air conditioned which really helped considering it reached 96 degrees during our visit.Overall I recommend visiting at least once, its a great lesson in how we used to live in Palm Beach county and just how far weve come in 100 years.

It would have been 5 star if one of the volunteers hadnt said to my 9 and 10 year olds that they were too big for this. Yes, my daughters are big in size but it shouldnt matter. I paid for their tickets to get in, so who cares if they are 9 or 13 they are still children. And thats why they charge for the entry. And because of that comment my 10 year old didnt want to continue. Thats not ok. People need to stay shut and let the children enjoy themselves regardless of size. I hope this is made known to all volunteers. Its not their place to decide who get candy and who shouldnt.

We had a great time despite several of the attractions/buildings not being open. Be aware that it is primarily outdoors with limited shade, and the indoor parts are not necessarily air conditioned. A fantastic trip into history, but definitely plan on explaining a lot to your kids as signage is minimal.

It was good for my children to explore, but kind of boring for adults. The women are loquacious... I understand they like their jobs and try to get other people to like the place as well, but I dont know? Maybe they should learn to be more succinct and verbally enticing to the point where I dont want to drone out after the first 60 seconds. But go visit the place. Its alright.

Had to check this place out after watching it on Ghost Adventures. This place is wonderful due to their preservation of south Florida history. Employees have fun when there and thats a good sign but there are some issues. The park isnt even open half the time unless theres a fair going on. Second, the ghost tour was eh because the employees seemed to make fun of you for some reason. They had their kids telling us ghost stories when they were scared out of their minds.
