We belong to the Palm Beach Sailing Club and keep our dinghy there for ready access to our sailboat which we keep in the mooring field. The club members are friendly and facilities are pleasant. The club has an active sailing program that attracts many delightful children.
Fantastic spot for saling and hanging out with folks who enjoy sailing.
Nice club setting with ar and bar food.
Hidden treasure! Tucked away off the beaten path,
Poor experience with sailing camp. We signed up for a week of camp. Counselors were not attentive to children. Children were left ignored while counselors were on their phones. One counselor was using harsh language with children. Also, my child had an allergic reaction while in camp and did not receive any care nore I was informed of the situation. Office did not follow up on returning my calls. Very disappointing.
Beautiful spot if you enjoy sailing. Awesome people and the bartender, Sean is fantastic and makes everyone feel at home!
This place seems cool but I’ve called and emailed and stopped by in person multiple times: no one is around, no calls returned, no emails to sailing instructor returned. One call was returned but the girl did don’t have info, just gave me instructors email (which led nowhere). I really wanted to spend my money locally- ??? I guess this place is half closed.?
This place is the perfect sailing club for a yacht Captain who has been around the globe, sailed the seven seas and frankly wants to sleep in his own bed when night falls. Great people, lots of activities, sailing school for young and old alike and that bed I mentioned a quick walk across the street. I got the count but here is to you Captain Embler! Ahoy!
Love hanging out at the bar on wed/friday night, love using the boats.
Ill be happy to update this review if I can, but for now, all I can say is one star. I tried to contact Palm Beach Sailing Club over a week ago, and multiple times per day since, attempting to sign up and pay for sailing lessons, but I have never received a response. Amongst probably 25 phones calls, ONE was finally answered, and the girl was polite but said shes not sure if she can sell me a sailing lesson or not. I asked if she can find out and call me back, and she said to call the sailing instructor (she gave a number) and I called it, no response. I emailed twice as well, two DIFFERENT email addresses I found on their website. No response. If I ever get a call or email back and am able to schedule a lesson, awesome, I will then reassess my experience. However, for now, all I can say is they do NOT answer their office phone, do NOT call anyone back, do NOT respond to emails, and do NOT follow up with messages. If they are not accepting students, they should just say that. Perhaps they should also post it online, and they should also have an auto-email response that says they dont respond to emails, and their voicemail should say it isnt monitored. I work in customer service myself, and I would never fail to respond to someone who called and emailed so many times over the course of 7-10 days. Especially considering I was calling attempting to buy something! Disappointing because I really wanted to try this place out, but they are totally unreachable.
There isnt another space like this in all of palm beach. You have a white sand beach where every full moon they have a bonfire while you watch the moon rise over palm beach. They have a full bar open 2-3 times during the week with an awesome Irish bartender. And as a member you get access to all the club boats. Did I mention the youth sailing program? My son has been part of it, they have a great coach who supervises the kids as they learn sailing and racing skills on the opti boats. Membership is very reasonable. You get a lot of value for the price. You get to meet a lot of great people who share a passion for sailing. You want to crew on a large boat? They have a sign up and they will be happy to have some extra hands! So much to do. They have just redone the interior of the club house.
I have been a member of this club for 17 years and loved every minute of it. This year we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Our ASA (American Sailing Association) classes are going great; youth sailing program is expanding every year; and kids summer camp is almost always filled every week. We host the Florida Laser Masters Championship (73 boats) last year, along with the Blue Regatta, the Fred Thomas Memorial Race, Youth Fall Festival Regatta in addition to other races and small boat Wet Wednesday Racing. There is bar and food service 2- 3 days a week and a lot of social activities. Have met people from all over the world. Many improvements over the last few years with more improvements to come.
I love this place, the members of the Sailing Club are wonderful people; great atmosphere loving, its on the water and regardless of what a lot of people think the neighborhood where its located is no where near bad. I feel completely safe when im their, check it out for yourselves have a cocktail and a little something to eat I hope to see you their!!
This venue is close to my house and from the moment I step foot on the grounds, before I was even engaged, I knew I wanted to have my wedding there. Cary and Sean were amazing. Cary is the event coordinator and she was so sweet send helpful. She answered all my emails almost immediately, she was there the whole day on my wedding and amazing. Sean was the bartender and the nicest bartender ever! They let me do so much with the venue, from decor, crazy ideas, it was all amazing. Everything went off with out a hitch!! PBSC was the most amazing wedding, with a huge lawn, a small beach, historic building and spacious deck, it truly was the perfect venue for my wedding. Thank you PBSC.
Always a great time. Fun just to sit there and watch the boats go by. Sailing is a blast
Really great group of people - a sailing club going through a rebirth with more young families, and a younger more active crowd
We joined several years ago. Some good, some bad.. I have some friends that are members but this place is a hot mess.Beware.. this place is in a bad neighborhood and has serious theft problem. Bad part of town and no security provided. There have been break ins to the club house and gear is stolen all the time. There are better sailing clubs North and South of Palm Beach...
Stopped in to check on membership for my family and thought Id share my thoughts. The guy in the office was named John. Seemed nice enough but couldnt really explain details, costs or availability of lessons for my daughter. There were several other people on property, members perhaps.. Not really a friendly vibe. Very off putting. This club is not very well maintained. The whole place felt like a shambles and not very sailorlike. Lots of unmaintained vegetation, poor driveways, needs paint, repair and a total remodel. The patio furniture was peeling and oxidized and trash in the bushes. Lots of beer bottles in recycling though. This place is in a REALLY bad part of town and was not secured. I would not leave a boat or dinghy here. One person I talked to had said that stuff gets stolen all the time.Looking at the boats they were a steaming hot mess. Some nice boats were well maintained and covered. Private boats? but it looked like most of the boats that were operated by the club were poorly maintained and not seaworthy. Lots of boats there look forgotten and trashed.Lastly the bathrooms... DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY.. DISGUSTING...Its obvious that no pride is taken in this place.
You have done a Great job !!! All that could be done you did I would visit here !! Please keep up the good work..
This place is the best. Sailors from all over the world, a bartender from Ireland, sailing regattas all year long to benefit the local community including a regatta for the benefit of Autism. They provide scholorships for the needy and a port for visiting yachtman. The only facility of its kind in the county. It is the place to learn and love sailing.
My brother, sisters and I learned to sail at PBSC. The coaches and instructors are great. The camp is a lot of fun!
Very accommodating to visiting cruisers. Very helpful and great buffets.
Cant even get ahold of the sailing instructor. Dont know what the sailing school is like, but if its anything like how they handle their office, Id say it sucks.
Nothing but fond memories!
I would like to get a membership here.
Taught me to sail.
