A great place to relax with your kids. What better than a free park with a bridge and lots of shades! And we just came back from the annual riverfest, tons of free activities for kids like canoeing, fishing, cycling and always learn a lot from all the local organizations. Tapawingo Park also the host of many other festivals like the taste of Tippecanoe. And dont forget about ice skating in the winter. So if they are hosting a event then take your whole family and check them out.
Very clean park. Nice trail to walk on. Very pretty view from the bridge.
Great place to relax and take a walk. Right next to the river and downtown.
Great trails near Purdue and picnic areas. Great place to relax in a natural setting.
Nice park we walked the trail it was nice didnt expect to see that type of nature right there
Clean, enjoyable, and easy access to downtown across the bridge!
My husband and I went ice skating for the first time ever. The pricing was very reasonable. We had fun and the staff was very nice. Would definitely go back and bring my kidos.
Ive been going to this place for years at this point and my favorite is primarily during the summertime. Ive been taking my little girl here since she was three and shes currently eight now. My husband and I found a way to get closer to the water for pictures. During certain times of the year the water rises higher to where the sand doesnt really show.
This is the perfect place for a last night walk, roller skating, biking, and so much more!
Great and safe place to go on a walk with a dog or by yourself!
It is a beautiful place that is localized basically between Lafayette and West Lafayette, because is necessary only cross the bridge and you will be in another city. That park is close to restaurants and other stores. Also, is close to city bus center and to downtown which have a lot of stores and options to visit. For see everything above mentioned and beyound you have to walk for not so more than 1 mile.
I could not enjoy much there. We have the option to rent a canoe for twenty bucks but when I went there it was not open
Great place for ice skating. A lot of nit picky rules that the teens working there WILL enforce but all in all still a good time.
Quiet, clean. Nice for a picnic.
Our plan originally was to go to the farmers market, we had no idea this festival was going on. Had a good time despite the fact that it was 96 degrees out. Lafayette is such a quaint town and worth the hour and a half drive to get there. We fly out of Indy exclusively and will usually stop in Lafayette to eat there.
Very lovely park. Love the ice skating bug hit with friends and love the connection you make when in that kind of atmosphere.
Very nice park. My reason for not giving 5 stars is there was no public bathroom. Or at least one that was open. And we didnt see another anywhere so we had to leave.
Nice place to walk around. so nice
Even beautiful in the winter months. Its nice because its right next to the river and always clean.
An oasis of nature in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Well maintained, and clean. Access to the Wabash. Paved trail and picnic areas. Right next to the walking bridge.
I used to love going to tapawingo Park when I was growing up. I loved going there for the 4th of July because thats where they had the 4th of July concert and thats where they lit the fireworks from. However that has since been moved. I still love the park. Its a great free resource.
Absolutely beautiful, wonderful place to watch the sunrise or sunset over the river. For a small park, its exceptionally spacious. Always clean, and everyone is nice!
This place is a wonderful place. We had gone here for the ice-skating. Its a wonderful space with a really fun and cosy vibe. The rink has a good size and the day we went, the croud wasnt too bad either. We went on a Friday night (I beleive). The rink is pretty cheap. Including the skate-rental, it comes out to $8. They clean the ice rink every hour and keep switching directions to keep it interesting. I was a great event! There is free parking here too.
Ice skating in the winter is a fun date activity but the rink is small and it gets crowded quickly.
Clean and good place for walking.
Such a great park! There are lots of trails and the walk across Main Street Bridge makes for a wonderful afternoon (and a great start for a trip to downtown Lafayette). The playground area is small but still great for all ages.
A place of rest and peace in shouts and louds of life
Great park with close access to the river. There is a long trail that feels secluded but safe from West Lafayette.
Beautiful little park. Try the record store next to it. Fantastic selection and good prices.
Falls are pretty small. I cannot say they are very attractive. However, the park is still a good place to walk.
Had a great time with my friends. Good area for a chill hangout.
Romantic place to go... Lots to do here. Happily ever after, right? Finally kissed her while I was here. But happy endings are stories that havent ended yet... We went our separate ways. Tapawingo will forever have a special place in my heart though. I guess I could say Tapawingo is my wing man haha
Nice park. structure for kids to play on but it is right in the sun, so the one slide was pretty hot even being plastic. More for older kids unless you are with them on the structure. Has restrooms and water fountain and nice walking area. Benches etc are there also. No concessions, but lots of restaurants within walking area. Very well maintained except for the one dirty diaper someone just left on the ground. Connected to the walking bridge.
Nice scenic spot for walking
Their should be a bit more trash cans, especially around the entrance of the trails, so much trash is around. It sometimes smells bad because of the waste plant around the corner. But we love to play at the park and walk the bridge as a family.
Nice jogging trail. Has a a few cool view points along the way. Plenty of picnic spots for families
Ice skating here is nice despite the size being a little small and crowded depending on how many people are there
Wonderful place to spend quality time on your day off.
Nice park by the river to chill out and relax, or walk the trail for some excellent views
Nice little park. Good place to take kids or go for a walk. Nice size parking lot next to a bike/walking path that follows a large portion of the river. The eis also a skating rink for wintertime shenanigans.
Small park but good for kids
Great park with an ice skating rink.
Some sketchy people around here sometimes
Nice clean park on the edges of the Wabash and near Purdue campus. Always plenty of people out here enjoying the trails, the courts, etc. We have been taking our girls out there for training (dogs).
Good place to walk and enjoy very small piece of nature close to Downtown Lafayette
Always clean and relaxed whenever I visit
Very tourist friendly environment. Loved it.
Love the park, walkways, fountain and of course the walking bridge. There is also a scenic view of the wabash nearby.
Nice little park close to a beautiful big fountain. The restrooms are locked but there are facilities nearby at the World store
Great place to hang out
Very nice place to be for any occasion
This is a nice little Park near the Wabash River it is best in the winter the ice skating rink is open
Always love the parks around here. Especially since most is inheritance to most.
Beautiful park overlooking the Wabash river. Theres a playground for kids which is a plus.
Great place to visit with many photo opportunities!
Perfect spot to see the fireworks along with zillions of people
It has a beautiful trail that goes through it to go for a walk.
Beautiful park, but it needs a public bathroom.
Its a nice place but the river
Small park, parking is a little odd, but its right next to the river. Theres a cool group of LARPers that meets there every Sunday around two! Im from Louisville ky and they were inviting and friendly.
Amtgard is out here a lot smacking each other with foam swords, fun to watch.
Nice place for a pleasant sunny trip
Nice. Walk right by the Wabash River
Great place for a jog or quiet walk. Not crowded early in the morning
Great family place
Great place to meet and talk.
Lovely park. Great for jogging.
A wonderful place to take walks. Has a playground and is right next to a bridge that connects Purdue to Lafayette. The river leaves something to be desired but the rest of the park is beautiful.
Very beautiful site downtown
Awesome location!! Ice skating here was so fun!!
Loved the walk and the environment. Good balance of industry and nature, my kids were enthralled by a crane that was strutting riverside.
Full of people doing illegal activities. There are numerous homeless camps just off the trail, homeless guys smoking weed, homeless guys shaking sticks at the bridge and screaming, and homeless guys beating off
Very pleasant park, bike paths. Late summer can be a bit mosquito laden, so plan appropriately.
Everyone loves fountains! This area is pretty nice, theres a few picnic tables, some playground equipment, and a nice trail winding through the woods (part of Heritage Trail).
Beautiful trees and views of the Wabash. Great for running, walking your dog, and meeting friends. A kids play area is near the parking lot, as well as a covered picnic table area.
Pretty little park... great place for walking, ice skating in the winter, renting and riding a bike, or Playing Pokemon Go!
Calm and lots of shade.
Its a small park with a kids playground, skating ring and a river on the side where some people like to fish.
Well maintained and relaxation place
The ice-skating rink is great!
Love that this park is near the Wabash Heritage Trail entrance. The trail is scenic and paved. Park is near some Chinese food grocers and restaurants.
Wonderful playground - my nieces and nephews love it. The green space is perfect for sports, picnics, and other outdoor activities!
Love to walk across the bridge
Fun and clean atmosphere
