Love doing escape rooms, got in same day no problem on a holiday weekend. Tries the psych ward with a friend and my teenage girls. It was so much fun! The plot and puzzles were perfect. Staff was great! Will be back

We were here on a Friday night to celebrate my boys birthdays. You need to make reservations for the timeframe youd like (you get an hour for $25/person). We were able to get an 8:30 slot on Friday night, the day before we were going. Tickets are non-refundable, so plan well. 5-7 slots are available per room.Gabe chose the hardest room, The Phantom. It has a 35% escape rate. We all had to sign waivers and promise not to damage things in the room. Then off to two videos about 2 or three minutes a video. One for safety and the other to set up the premise of the room. We were guided to the room, told we had unlimited hints and away we went. This room was waaay harder than we thought. In the hour, we got about halfway through all the puzzles to be solved, and we had decided to divide and conquer. This was our first time ever in an Escape Room and hindsight says we might have wanted to start on a different room as it took us a bit to orient ourselves and figure out where we needed to go first.But it was a blast!

We did a virtual home edition escape room and it was fantastic. We were lucky enough to get family from other states to join us. We escaped with 4 minutes to spare! What a great way to spend an hour and interact with family near and far!!! Kaitlyn was fantastic as our facilitator!!

This place is fantastic, and they were very flexible with us when we ended up booking the same room as another group of strangers. We had a blast figuring out clues though we definitely needed some help along the way. The staff is really nice and friendly and fun, and the room we got was aesthetically awesome! The rules were straightforward though the clues varied in difficulty. In the end, we escaped The Phantom with only one minute to spare! Im excited to go back and try future rooms.

Very fun experience! I went with coworkers who have not experience an escape room before either, and we all had the best time. We decided even before leaving the place that we will be coming back! Be prepared for a challenging hour (or less if youre lucky). Great way to build teamwork and work together to accomplish a rewarding end result.

Harrison and Renea were amazing and helpful guides. There were 4 of us who did the Informant. The amazing guides made sure we were never stumped too long without revealing answers. This is my first time Ive actually escaped a room and I felt incredibly accomplished! Well worth the money for a heart racing, cleverly designed escape room! I cant wait to go back!

For the past several years, our family has done an escape room when all the adult kids are back for the holidays. This is the 3rd year weve gone to The Escape because we love the detail of the rooms, the many types of puzzles, and the fun we have working together to escape. This year, we did The Informant and had a blast!

I went there for a friends birthday. It was a lot of fun and a challenge. The staff are very friendly and are knowledgeable about their job. I would definitely go back. It stinks that it is so expensive but still very fun for everyone.

I have done a number of puzzle rooms, upwards of two dozen, and this was one of my least favorite (Psych Ward). I would imagine that the other rooms at this place are better - they have some of the makings and creativity for it, but this one in particular was not executed well in my opinion, and the opinion of those I did it with. It was scattered lacked cohesiveness, and the manner in which clues were given to us was not helpful (our group collectively decided that we would accept clues if we were really struggling, but the clues were given too frequently and were unsophisticated). The room was also not fully put back together when we entered it for the first time, which was too bad.

A ton of fun, great for the whole family or a group of friends, regardless of age

I have been to two rooms here, The Informant and the Hexadron. Both times, the staff members working were personable and fun, they made our experience enjoyable! The rooms were also a fun and puzzling experience. We plan to go again!

Our room monitor was Della. She was super nice. Had a great experience in the Hexadron. Cool effects. Will definitely go back!!

Probably the best escape rooms Ive been to in the Des Moines area. Well thought out puzzles and hidden rooms. They give good hints too if you need them. Always enjoy coming here with friends.

The Phantom was too clever for us and we are now trapped for good! Great puzzles that perhaps more brains in the room would have helped us to solve (only 3 of us played this time). Very clever! Will definitely be back to try a different room.

High quality entertainment. Staff was great, the rooms are extremely well thought out and inquisitive. Makes for an overall, great time!

Super fun escape room experience! Our game master Cole was very helpful and energetic about his job.

4.5/5 -- The Escape had great employees and a wonderful escape room. It had lots of clues and hidden gems in the room to increase curiosity and debate in the room. I went in a group of 5 and we completed the room, and had a blast. The wait was about 10 minutes from our scheduled time but then it was totally worth it.

We had so much fun! Loon was great :) I would definitely recommend the Hexadron room.

Megan (Morgan? I forget her name sorry!) and Manny got us all set up. Manny is new I assume, very shy and quiet. Open up man! This is a fun place, show your personality! Megan/Morgan did a great job making our first time there a ton of fun. She gave great clues for us without totally giving it away so we got to leave feeling accomplished and ready to come back for another scenario.Totally worth the price of admission, and I cannot recommend it enough. Get a group of 6 together and reserve the whole event for yourselves. Its so worth it.Thanks again!

Great experience! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We did the room called the informant and it was complex but fun. The staff took the time to design each room in such a way where you spend your time solving the clues rather than spending your time trying to figure out how to operate the locks and the other equipment. We were able to solve the room with about 5 minutes left on the clock. Weve also tried an escape room at a competing business downtown, but The Escape was far better in comparison! 5 stars highly recommended!

This was by far the most unique and fun thing i have done in ages. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was very well put together and the story had twists and turns that were a challenge to keep up with. I would suggest this place to anyone who likes puzzles and adventure! I will be coming back for sure! AAA+++

Absolutely an amazing first time doing escape rooms, Dell or Jell can’t remember was amazing and super helpful and went out of her way to do extra for us. I wish everyone could have her as there guide. Definitely coming back to do the new room after doing the Phyc ward this time. Being a broke teenager it’s a bit expensive but worth it!

This place was awesome! My family has now done a number of different escape room experiences in different cities and states and this one is one of the best that we have ever enjoyed. The rooms are well done and the scenarios are well thought out. We will definitely return again to try some of the other rooms. The staff was fantastic...they helped just enough to keep it interesting/challenging but not enough to dumb it down and take the fun out of it.

I have always wanted to do one of these and I finally had the chance to visit The Escape yesterday. I went with my dad, brother-in-law and sister and we did the Psych Ward room. All I can say is that we had a great time doing this! What a great team-building exercise! The Psych Ward was challenging and we almost didnt get out in time, but we were lucky enough to get out with three minutes to spare, thanks in part to our very friendly guide. He did a great job of explaining how it worked, getting us started, giving us clues if we got stuck and just making the experience a great one! I would definitely recommend doing this and am going to be back to try another room sometime in the near future! Thanks for the fun day!

Great Escape rooms! The Psych Ward was top-notch design; every step was difficult but rewarding.

The Phantom room was very detailed and engaging. Went with a group of 7 and definitely got our moneys worth.

We just completed the Psych room and it was fantastic. I have been a fan of the Escape Chambers so my expectations were a little high. This place has lived up to those expectations. The room was fun and challenging. Everybody had to participate in order for us to solve the clues and escape. I highly recommend this place.

Geared more for younger people.Was on a business trip to Des Moines and my management thought it would be a good team building exercise..Place is well run with friendly, professional staff.Just not for me and if there is a next time. I will bow out.

This place was a lot of fun. Its something different to enjoy than the typical movie night or mini golf. I think the guy supervising our room gave us clues to easily, though.

This place is amazing, well set up and well ran. i had a blast, i highly recommend going here. the set up of the rooms are just awesome and fun. The staff is great also, SO friendly and nice and fun. i cant wait to come back!

Catelynn was absolutely amazing! We had such a great time! We did this as a corporate event and it was absolutely awesome! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a team build or even a fun friend getaway! Catelynn was a huge help ane made our experience so much better! You are lucky to have her on your team!

We had a blast doing the Psych Ward. Very creative and challenging. Katelyn was our hostess and provided enough clues when asked, but not so many that gave it away. Definitely recommend!!!!

Having experienced a handful of escape rooms, The Escape by far exceeds them all. The staff were exceptional. The design of the rooms themselves and the puzzles necessary to escape are entertaining and get your blood pumping with excitement as you feel a part of the story. I will be returning to experience all the rooms they have to offer.

My boyfriend and I are big fans of escape rooms, and we were very excited about doing The Phantom while in Des Moines. We had a 100% escape rate with all of the other rooms we had done together, but here we were paired with another group who hadnt done an escape room before. I know that most escape rooms gave the policy that they will sell slots until the room is full, but working with people we didnt know who didnt always listen when we gave suggestions was frustrating. We almost got to the end, but ran out of time as we were working on the final clue. My boyfriend and both felt pretty numbed that our streak had been broken and felt like our enjoyment of the room was dampened by having to work with people who didnt have our same level of experience in the hardest room at this location. It would be nice if there was an option to pay a fee to make sure that its just your group in the room. My boyfriend also pointed our when we were done that one of the lights we needed to read a clue was broken and that the game master didnt respond about it even though he repeatedly told the camera that the light was broken. Overall, the room was well designed and had some good puzzles, but we were both disappointed that an experience we had really been looking forward to was negatively affected by having to try to communicate with people we didnt know.

Wow I️ didn’t anticipate anything near what I️ experienced tonight! Tons of fun hoping to try out a new escape room soon! This is like a real life board game!
