Fun course for players of all skill levels. Some nice and wide open fairways and a couple that are not. Only one one hole are there houses a bit too close. Clubhouse should be better. Staff was great. Greens in great shape.

Love this course!!! Very challenging and several risk/reward holes. Augusta National has amen corner... Wentzville has Communist Corner! #8 is a slight up hill 200+yd par 3, #9 is a wicked 90 degree dogleg left and major up hill, #10 is a dogleg right par 4 over water and easy to drive through the fairway!Course is usually in good condition even in mid summer. Its a must play! Its a little bit on the high side for price... When I say a little it is just a little... If they dropped prices just a little it would be a 5

This is our group’s favorite course for winter golf. The folks at the cub house are great; they never bat an eye when we want to play in cold drizzle. We love winter golf at Golf Club of Wentzville.

This course should be the model for any developer looking to build a residential golf course and have the golf course be worth playing to someone who doesnt live there. The course is not super challenging but fun and interesting, but most importantly, the homes are (mostly) unobtrusive to the players experience on the course. I cant stress the value of that last point enough.

Good layout, challenging but playable. Course was in great shape, with exception of #1 green. All other greens were pretty quick. Had a blast playing the course.

Fun course with a nice layout - very playable. The rains have given courses a beating this year, and while there are of course low spots with some damage I appreciate the job theyve done keeping the course in as good of shape as possible.

Excellent golf course to play. It rained during our round and was wet from previous rain and other than water you could hardly tell. The course is very well maintained and fun to play.

Tough early summer like 90% of the greens /course in the St. Louis area, but I played yesterday 10/21/18 the greens have recovered, the fairways are perfect and the tees are real close to perfect. Im a past golf course owner and this course is in good shape, the reviews dont do it justice or are they warranted! Great value! Always a fast round of golf. Tee it up this fall @ GCW, youll enjoy yourself!

I was called 1.5 hours before my tee time saying they were cancelling it due to a tournament. The man was extremely rude and seemed bothered that he had to call me. I usually enjoy playing here. Not anymore!

St
Review №18

Well maintained and a few holes play a little long for the average golfer, but very fair and challenging. Play is usually a little slow, especially on a few of the harder holes, so expect a longer round. A twosome of 10 handicappers can play it in 3 hours with no delays, but expect about 4 or 4 1/2 on a normal day. Its a great course so it does get a good amount of play.

Lots of recent talk about the greens being torn up, but dont let that keep you from playing here. Summer was brutal and mother nature won the battle. We live about 5 miles from this course and for the first time in 18 years my own lawn had gotten disease, and it was not due to lack of care. I saw the same thing at other courses all over the St Louis area in early fall, greens that were recovering. But like my lawn, the greens at GCW have recovered well with the fall weather. This is a really nice course, well kept, and it will challenge the best of you to keep it straight!!

It has a really nice layout and I try to play there at least once a year. Today was that day. The trees and fairways are in usual great shape, but the greens are downright awful. I guess they have some disease and really bad rolling. I was really disappointed. We played 18 in just over 3 hours bc the course had very few golfers. At least that was a bright spot.

Worst greens I’ve played in years. They have lost 80% of the greens and the pro shop didn’t even bother to mention it when charging me full price. Also the water coolers were bone dry on a 93* day.

One of the highest prices ive paid for a round of golf, but it was a beautiful well taken care of course. Also it was not overly crowded so we rarely were rushed or waiting. Well worth it

Have played this course several times over the past 5 yrs and today was the worst I have seen. In the course snd their staffs defense it has been a scorching summer so far but nothing abnormal. Greens were terrible and the boxes were without grass in many spots.

Usually good conditions. Course is not very exciting though.

Ma
Review №37

For how wet the conditions were, the course held up exceptionally well! Driving through lakes of rain water on the cart paths but the greens still rolled true and I didnt have a single ball plug the entire round. Thankfully the course held up its end of the bargain, because the rest of the experience was dreadful. 2/2 stars for conditions.Yardage markers were garbage on the tees, especially on the par 3s where none of them were within 5 yards of my Bushnell. No yardage books available and minimal sprinkler head markings means those without a laser range finder are stuck walking off from one of the 4 generic distance markers on the fairway sides, which were also less than consistently placed. 0/1 stars for amenities.Clubhouse staff left a lot to be desired. Was told there was no one working carts, so I had to go get a used, dirty cart from the return shack when there were 30+ clean ones lined up for league play, which didnt start for 4 more hours. 0/1 stars for service.I always make a point to try hot food where available. Their grill at the turn was under construction. The clubhouse attendant felt a bratwurst with her bare finger then stuck it in the microwave in clear sight. She made no attempt to apologize or recommend something else that was cooked, I promptly refused to buy it and left unsatisfied after my round. I can understand the grill being out of order at the beginning of the season for an upgrade/addition, but at least train your staff in proper preparing and handling of food if its not their usual job or dont serve it at all.Ive played this course several times 7-12 years ago and always had an exceptional experience. Im always willing to give them another shot, but they need to step up their amenities and customer service to retain my business after the next visit. Most of the other local courses have complimentary yardage books and relatively accurate markers on course, for one of the most basic necessities of the game, GC of Wentzville is sure coming up short for the price they charge. 0/1 stars for value.
