I was excited to check out The National Theatre after a long break from theatre. I saw “Fiddler on the Roof,” one of my favorite plays. I’m going to start with the venue. The venue itself is quite historic and I love an old theatre. One of the biggest and most obvious gripes is the fact there is only one bathroom on the second floor which fills up FAST. I was slightly confused where to pickup tickets but the staff were helpful and kind. Before the show there was a small happy hour if you will which had a wine and cheese tasting. I loved it! So fun to have before the show. Our seats were pretty good but they’re not windowed very well so if you’re sitting far back or behind someone tall you’re kind of out of luck.As far as the show, I love love love this play. Overall I felt it was pretty great but I didn’t really love the mother, Golde. Personally didn’t love her voice or acting but the rest was great.

Saw the Illusionists last week and reminded me just how magnificent this building is. True without elevators and restrooms are on the second floor but there is no bad seat when watching . Nice bars and go to the second floor for no lines . You can bring drinks and food purchased inside . Lots of parking nearby and if you use spot hero I get very convenient parking at a discount . Several restaurants closed by if you arrive early and walk on E over to 12 or beyond.

We went here for a free Saturday morning children’s play. Unfortunately the lobby was closed to prepare for an evening show so had to wait outside, even though we were advised to arrive early when reserving. I was looking forward to see how more of this magnificent building, but spent 20 minutes watching people skate outside under the hot sun.

This theater is so much bigger than I expected, and it doesnt seem to have one bad seat in the house. The staff was courteous and kept us moving efficiently. The stage is awesome and the performance we saw was awe inspiring: Cirque Dreams Holidays. Thank you for a wonderful experience with 4 generations in attendance in my family!

Saw Jersey Boys here. Very nice, historic theater with lots of history. Did you know Abraham Lincolns son was attending a performance here when his father was shot at nearby Fords Theater? The seating is classy and comfortable and the acoustics were great. Dont wait for the bathrooms after the show. Just walk out and go right a little ways into The Shops. There are public (and very nice) bathrooms on the second floor. And no wait! Also nearby is the W Hotel. A beautiful place to check out if you have a little extra time on your hands.

After a great dinner at MXDC, we walked to the theater. We had two front row balcony seating, on the far right. Solid seats nonetheless. We thought we would be too far for good viewing, but that was not the case.“A Bronx Tale” was a nice mix of a “West Side Story” and “Jersey Boys” (just like it’s marketed as). The theatre is certainly dated, but nice. Dont go looking to buy food or drink without a budget for that line item (cocktails are approximately $20 and up). In terms of seating space, I’m 6’4”, and legroom wasn’t an issue for me - at least on the balcony level (although my wife and I were seated in Row A).Overall, The National Theatre is a much more affordable option than the Kennedy Center - and has more character. We’ll definitely plan on a return visit!

Jersey Boys is a fantastic show! But our seats somehow ended up in the farthest row from the stage in the mezzanine level. We couldnt see the top part of the stage display. Luckily we were allowed to move forward at intermission. Pay attention to where youre seats are in this theater! But you cant go wrong with Jersey Boys-- great music and dancing. A delightful show.

This was our first experience at the National theater. I loved the more intimate feel if this theater. I was really surprised at how good our seats were and how close to the stage we were. I came here with my family to see the Illusionists. We had a wonderful time and our seats were awesome! The folks who work there were super nice and helpful. The only thing I can ding the place on is the snack and beer prices. It cost us $25 for two beers! Other than that, its a fun place to see a show.

I came here to see Swan Lake and had a great evening. I noticed that the shows at this theater are often big production items and I definitely think the seating lend itself to that kind of show, but I have to admit that I was disappointed that this theater dles not have a pit for a live orchestra. The sound quality of the recordings was not great and we could hear every little play and pause, and the house curtain was extremely wrinkly and possibly just a scrim because I could see everyone warming up between scenes. Regardless, I enjoyed my evening here and Im sure Ill be back.

I love this theatre ️. The elevator is spacious and quiet, and the womens bathroom on the Mezzanine level is huge, like it needs to be so women can be in and out in a reasonable time. Tonight I noticed a staff member assisting a man who was using a rolling walker. She stayed with him, even on the elevator to make sure he was taken care of. It touched me.

Excellent theatre in terms of ease to get into your seat. The only issue is that the seats in the main floor are somewhat leveled with each other and with the stage making it hard to watch the show because if any one with a slighter taller neck is sitting in front of you. The seats are also outdated and uncomfortable. Also, if you want to use the restroom it’s a bit of a hike to the 2nd floor.

I prefer to see shows at the Kennedy Center, but went to the National Theatre to see Rent. I had first row seats in the balcony. Talk about tight seats, no room for my feet or knees to move. Thankfully, the people next to me didnt return after intermission, so I had a little room. Performance was good, but the feeling of being cramped took away from the experience.

This place is fine unless youre in the back of the balconies. The ridiculous angle and low ceiling height make it nearly impossible to see the stage. Although I have enjoyed many shows at this theatre, I am disappointed about my most recent experience.I received their email promotion that excitedly included a short clip titled: Illusionists - Magic of the Holidays. The clip showcased magicians and snippets of magic shows. I watched that video and saw that Shin Lim was in it. Immediately, I knew that my mother and father-in-law would love to see him, therefore I purchased tickets for a party of 5. We all were ecstatic.Well, he was nowhere to be found. From beginning to end, there was no Shin Lim ANYWHERE. And it was NOT MAGIC or magical at all. It was a TRICK. Please do NOT use a person to advertise for a show if they will NOT be included. This vagueness and misleading lure is a lack of poor integrity and I am truly surprised because I have never thought this could happen at an establishment that I have respected in the past.

I attended Beetlejuice, which was an amazing show! I sat in the mezzanine section. As far as the venue goes, before the show started, they had spotlights moving around. Unfortunately, they would shine directly into your eyes part of the time, which was really annoying and blinding. I was on the 3rd floor, and during the intermission they closed the mens restroom to accommodate women from the 3rd and 4th floor. That was considerate, so the womens line wasnt as long. The concessions were a ripoff, as expected. $4 for some peanut M&Ms and $6 for a bottle of sparkling water.
