Nice place
Cool
If youre visiting Washington DC for the first time, you definitely should see this!
Impressive architecture!
Capitol Hill is the seat of the U.S. government, home to the domed United States Capitol, Senate, Houses of Representatives and the neoclassical Supreme Court. It’s also known for the redbrick Eastern Market, where vendors sell produce, meat and cheese throughout the week, and handicrafts and antiques on weekends. Barracks Row is lined with an eclectic mix of bakeries, pizzerias and global eateries.Guided tours of the U.S. Capitol Building are free of charge and are conducted Monday through Saturday, 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Tours must be booked in advance and schedules can fill up quickly (particularly in spring), so it is advisable that you book your tour well in advance. The building is really worth to visit, here monuments of all the presidents are available and can see the history of USBuilding have the tunnel way to the Congress library also which is worth to visitEnclosing photographs and videos for a look
Visit the heartbeat of the United States. Here you find the movers and shakers of the American Government. You must visit Capital Hill before departing the city. Dont be surprised if you are visited by the spirits of lawmakers or history makers from the past. There are many stories these walls have seen.
I loved Capitol Hill before 2016. Now I can only share deep disappointment. Protesting was the best! Unfortunately over half the Senate lives in fear.
The only thing I can say about this place is wow. Yes wow. the architecture is fantastic. This is definitely a must do if you are coming to Washington DC but you need to book before you go. It is free. The tours are guided but the guide we had was really great and really knew his stuff. There is so much to see it is difficult to describe this tour but you will be impressed.
The Capitol Building was absolutely gorgeous. We were lucky enough to get a private tour and were able to go out on the Speaker’s Balcony. The view was amazing. The history of the building could be seen in the design via statues, art, architecture and furnishings. It’s very majestic. Very clean and well-kept inside and out. We spent about 2 1/2 hours touring the building. So much history in the building it was a little overwhelming but stunning nonetheless
I was extremely disappointed by how much construction scaffolding was around the Capitol. Also, unable to climb the steps or really wonder the grounds much. You have to sneak through the back door underground to get to the tour area. The tour was good but not being able to see the house or senate areas even when not in session was very disappointing. I would not recommend going out of your way for this one!
Gorgeous architecture. A must see when in DC
Nice
Great architecture!
The first thing which i want to do in DC is to visit the capitol, i just walked out the subway with my google maps leading me to the location ..then i rises my head to see this amazing buildingits not a matter of beauty ...no this place gives the feeling of power ..you wonder how many nations around the world their lives where affected by dissensions were made under this dome .i took a tour around the building ..then by mere chance i asked a police man if it is possible to get inside the building ..he was so kind and show me the way to the visitor center ..it was free ..i got inside and surprisingly i attended a hearing session in one on congress halls about Syria.while am inside i knew that there is other parts could be seen but unfortunately the place was closed .thanks
Nighttime strolls on a rainy night very fitting for the current state of American democracy
Make America Great Again!
The building is just magnificent. The central dome above a rotunda is what amazes me. The white done shows it exquisite quality on a very sunny day.
I love washington dc
A great symbol of America, the United States Capitol building!
After having meetings at the Senate office, I toured the Capitol Hill. It was such an informative tour which helped me better understand about the U.S. Congress.
An outstanding tour of the US Capitol Building. A must see for all visitors to Washington DC...and it’s free too!!
Know History, you are apart of history after few years later....
Nice, safe and quiet neighborhood, you can walk here anytime.
Beautiful day for a stroll around our nations capitol. Supporting call for DC statehood
Amazing experience
You see it so much times on TVs on movies on the computer and when youre finally there it all hits in great place to visit very historical all around
Walking around here is fun and its just pretty cool to see.
A very interesting place for those interested in history. One should take the audio tour provided. Board says prior appointment but you can walk to the counter and get an appointment in 15-20 min. Dont forget to have lunch in the cafeteria. And you will notice even trash cans are gold in color.
It was fun
A must visit
Great place to visit
Did the tour and it was very interesting. Seen lots of the dome based area.
Amazing architecture and painting. Book for free passes in the morning so that you can enjoy the tour peacefully
One of the power centres of the free world! Great place to walk around though gets very crowded during peak seasons. Fall is the best time to visit as summers can also get intense and winters nothing great to talk home about.
Good place except summer
Capitol Hill is an amazing building and location. The infrastructure in this building is incredible and something you dont see much anymore. It is in walking distance from union station and you get an amazing view of the Washington monument from here as well. It is so awesome to see a building that I have seen so many times on tv but still be amazed by it. Definitely a site not to be missed!
It’s a pretty neat place to visit for tourists. Also the architecture is exquisite! They seem to always be renovating it in some way though
Need Transtripe;& Help find Bussiness work History. For people how whats to have a job.
A must stop while in DC
Excellent tourist attraction
The tour is really fun and informative. At the end they take you to the dome!
Beautiful place to visit. One of the must see locations in DC.
The tour is guided and lasts about 1 hour, security counts 15 people to admit at a time, just to be collected inside with 100 more people for a 20-min video. After the video people are divided to much bigger than 15 people groups. So much for organization! The video is not worth watching, and the inside visit is limited to seeing the great rotunda, a round foyer on the house side and the room supporting the rotunda floor. These rooms are full of statues, and the rotunda has several big paintings, but the group is moving fast and no time is alowed to look around. The explanation given for the rooms and statues is solely based on your tour guide. There was so much that could have been said about the building, its construction and history, and it should have been purely objective using a recorder guide.
Very beautiful. No food or drinks allowed except baby food . We had to throw our food in trash with a heavy heart. So better leave your snacks in your car or some other place...
Great place to go for a walk, food trucks available, Smithsonian museum is great, make sure you wear your comfy shoes and sunscreen
Must see. So impressive.
Nice area to visit and walk through the history of this place. Reminder to appreciate democracy and the sacrifices that we all need to make to improve things for all of humanity.Nice area for walking or biking. Accessible by public transportation including metro buses and several metro stations within walking distance.Plenty of free street parking especially on Sundays.

Wow, very beautiful building with a huge historical background
Im just bill! Sitting on Capitol hill .. was a life changing experience....
Very enlightening tour.
Beautiful and very special as our Congressman had a flag flown over the Capitol in honor of our grandchild the day we visited
Awesome stone work, fantastic library, great views of the city, a historic marvel. Everyone should visit when in Washington.
Rt Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) introduced their TPS Reform Act (H.R. 3899), which would grant TPS for eighteen months to Venezuelans in the country legally, and would require a vote by Congress to extend this designation. It would not allow the President to extend TPS, as is now current practice.....
Great day surounded by american history
