Marcellas prints are so beautiful - such high-quality and special work. Beyond her own art, she is a wonderful instructor. I took one of her virtual watercolor workshops and absolutely loved it. She was great at teaching technique, giving time for questions, and creating a really calm and inviting virtual space. I highly recommend buying one of her pieces AND joining one of her watercolor classes (beginner - intermediate folks would love it!).
Marcellas in-person and virtual watercolor workshops are great for anyone that wants to learn about watercolor basics and for those who want to practice more. I highly recommend these workshops. Marcella is a great teacher and the classes are very fun and enriching. Im a watercolor enthusiast and want to learn more. These workshops are really good because you can practice more and have someone that can give you great feedback!
I was a lucky participant at my nieces virtual birthday watercolor workshop with Marcella. She is an awesome instructor and her teaching style is engaging and patient. She made learning about watercolors fun and magical. I highly recommend taking a class with her!
Did a zoom watercolor class for a friends birthday! The watercolor palette and illustration was mailed prior to the class. LOVED it - learned so much about watercolors. Marcella was a great teacher :)
Marcella’s cook books are so beautifully drawn, and have recipes that are delicious and easy to follow. Really love the personal touch and stories that accompanies the recipes. They make wonderful gifts!!! Also love her posters—have several in my home, and have given some to friends.
Marcellas art is so colorful and unique. We own two of her cookbooks and have given her framed prints to family and friends - they make great gifts. Also love the kitchen towels!
Great selection of foodie gifts for pretty much anyone you know. I picked up a card, kitchen towels, and a super cool cookbook for my girlfriend. She loved them!
Great little spot to pick up a little gift for the fellow foodie or art-lover in your life; the price points are just right; and the prints are beautiful!!! Marcellas studio is nestled in the Monroe Artswalk among many other artists and artisans studios. Its a joy of a destination.
Marcellas art is such a joy to behold. Her prints are jewels of colorful delight and her two (so far!) cookbooks are complete wonders of culinary & watercolor craft. She manages to bring such life to all aspects of what it takes to lovingly prep ingredients, provides thoughtful explanations of flavors and technique, and weaves all these details together so you can craft authentic and oh-so-tasty food & drink without ever having to step outside your home -- apart from the quick grocery run. If youre so lucky as to be in the DC area, too, her Arts Walk shop is not to be missed. Be sure to stop in!
Wonderful shop and artist. We’ve got two illustrations of hers in our kitchen and her Havana cookbook.
A lovely little studio of the lovely artist Marcella Kriebel, selling her prints and cookbooks. Her food illustration is seriously drool-worthy. Her cookbooks are an incredible conglomeration of her travels, love of food, and the history and anthropology of the region. Love her stuff.
Was introduced to Marcellas work by some friends. After seeing some prints and her new book at a Union Market Workshop, I promptly purchased Comida Cubano for myself and several prints for holiday gifts. Shes an extremely talented artist and knowledgeable about her subjects! Definitely looking forward to one of her workshops and picking up more prints.
Marcellas cookbooks are fabulously written and illustrated, and the recipes are easy to follow and produce tasty results, even by amateur cooks like me. Moreover, reading her cookbooks allows one blissful insights into the rich culinary traditions of other cultures, which in the U.S.s current food industrial complex, are breathes of fresh air, or should I say, mouthwatering aromas.
Not only is Marcellas artwork very relatable to every day life, it is the kind of thing most of us need around the house or in the office. It is art that brings a smile to your face as soon as you see it.....something we desperately need nowadays!
Amazing art and delightful studio! Marcellas food illustrations rock!
