Ive been tie-dying since before it was quarantine cool. My favorite Jacquard Procion MX dye can be difficult to find, and more so now that everyone and their quarantine kid is doing it. But Blick carries the full color line. I ordered online and was very pleased with all services. Thanks, Blick!

Its refreshing to find a well-stocked art supply store in the middle of the city. Docking one star for their poor price-matching policy. They refused to match their own web prices, insisting they could only match the price with shipping. Useless policy for small items, will likely only return if I need something that day.

Great selection and friendly staff. The discount program will usually save you 5-10% on purchases too. They are expanding next door so will be even bigger soon.

The works are nice, friendly, and helpful. Also the location is really organized, so it easy to find the material you want. Finally, the works also know know your talking about when you ask for help.

I havent been since they remodeled this location but I have loved it so far. The staff is nice and friendly and they ask if you need help multiple times. They are often roaming the store to make sure everything is in order. That being said, I havent came across a dried up marker yet in this store.Oh, and their prices are pretty cheap.

They have anything a crafter or artist could need! Beats the chain craft store, like Michaels and Hobby Lobby, easily. I was a able to find foam glue and sealer that I couldnt anywhere else.

Fantastic art store. I just walked out maybe 5 minutes ago and had to leave a review. The customer service is amazing a 10. The selection is a 10. The overall atmosphere is a 10.Im backing packing the east coast for the holidays and came in to buy a pencil bag that Ill use a toiletry bag (forgot to bring one) and I not only found that but ended up buying a sketching starter kit. Being here reminded me of when I used to enjoy art. I was inspired by this spot and cant wait to start sketching again.Thanks!

I ordered two frames in order to prepare for entering 2 oil paintings into an art show. 1. The box that arrived had been constructed and pieced together with a lot of clear tape. I had difficulty cutting through the tape to open it. [customer response: oh, that sounds as if the Fed Ex must have mangled the original box and made up a new one. How can I send it back if the box is not reusable? CS never answered that question. 2. The gold leaf floater frame looked damaged due to missing flakes of gold paint. CS said that it is supposed to look that way. That is not how I saw it on Blicks website. CS has no idea how to fix the issue. CS said I could send it back but as noted above the box was not reusable. Sending it back is not going to solve my need for a frame for an art show in a few days. My experience is that the CS person had reasons for everything but no solutions. I am a long time periodic customer. I will not order from Blick again.

Carries most of your basic and some specialty art brand supplies. A bit limited on their art knife and blade selection, but you can always order online! They offer a 10% discount for students and faculty.

Great selection! They definitely have a different selection than the relatively close by PlaZa Art location. Staff were friendly and available but not at all intrusive. I think their selection of pencils and watercolors is a little better, but I had hoped to see more of their budget Blick papers.

If only I could give this place more than 5 stars. If you look up customer service in the dictionary, you will find this place listed - everyone was outstanding, friendly, and eager to help. You dont often find service like this, and I came in less than a half hour before they closed when most other places have already slammed the door in your face. I came in for an item that was only a few dollars and Google directed me to this place after going to other more well known places. From my call to confirm that they had the item to the actual purchase, the experience was overwhelmingly a joy and I was able to complete my project.

This Blick is a great store, in terms of having a very comprehensive inventory of art supplies and friendly staff. However, the prices here are outrageous compared to their online store! I was shopping for the DB Premier Cotton Canvas Splined Gallery Profile Canvas, 36 × 48. Online, the price is $32.99. In stores, the retail price is $79.48, even after web rebate! I spoke with the cashier about this huge price discrepancy and they responded that they are unable to price match. Needless to say, I decided to make my purchase online, which was free shipping for orders $35 or more. I definitely recommend visiting the retail location to check out art materials in person but make your purchase online!

Running an errand for work, stopped in on my way to an office supply store. Surprise, they had the paper I was looking for! Staff was super helpful and very nice. I was just looking for print paper, it worked fine for our project. The store is small and fully stocked without feeling crowded. I overheard a conversation with another customer and staff member, Im no artist so it was beyond me, but the staff member seemed to satisfactorily answer the patrons questions.

An incredibly complete store nestled into downtown DC. Theres much more in there than you would expect. The perfect resource for an artist in the city. Prices are on par with internet prices and service is on point.

I have been an artist for almost 40 years. This store has been the most mean spirited Ive seen in a the many countries Ive been in. Out of the blue the store manager, Ian Mullins, started to insult me in social media because I disagree with his political views. Beyond unprofessional, it says a lot about this creepy store

People are very nice. They had a good variety of supplies. Unfortunately you have to use a stair lift if you use a wheelchair and that can get a little sketchy, especially if you’re traveling on your own and the door doesn’t shut correctly. Luckily, the staff came to help. But it’d be better if I didn’t have to rely on them to get in.

As physical stores go, this is one of the best. They even match what you would pay if you ordered from their website. This location is a bit smaller than some others Ive been to, and it doesnt feel as spacious, but they still have a large selection of art materials.

Well stocked art supply store with (generally) helpful staff. However, there is very confusing sale signage displayed throughout the store. As an example, I was swayed to buy watercolor paper because the sign next to it said Spend $80 get 20% off. I did not notice the fine print that stipulates that you must buy $80 of that product based on the regular price to get the discount. Probably because that part is printed in teeny tiny type. When I questioned the clerk at the counter about why I didnt get the discount, he responded in an extremely frustrated tone that he had already explained this to me when I was in last week (my last visit was actually six weeks ago) and then spit out a long diatribe about how their pricing worked, directed me to the website, and also to a big sign in the store where these policies are explained at great length. I think he is sick of explaining this nonsense not just to me, but to EVERYONE who is trying to get the discounts that are misleadingly posted next to many items in the store. Still, I did not appreciate being lectured to like a misbehaving child when I was spending $100. And honestly- who has time to understand the intricacies of their pricing policies. We all just focus on the big discount number right? I wont be shopping here in the future. Id rather buy online and skip the attitude.

Great for browsing art supplies, there is always something to find, even if you arent much of an artist. You can always pick out a new weird pen from the fantastic variety. Traditional artists will find all their supplies and mediums. There is usually a clearance section in the back for bargain hunters.

I love blick art but their prices are crazy. Soemtimes Im willing to make the trip all the way up to Plaza Art in silver spring just to save a few bucks. I wish they had better deals or discounts.

I’m not a pro at any particular method/medium of art, Im still trying to hone in on what I like and BLICK always has what I need to get myself started with something new. When I do want to explore something a bit more I Can always count on BLICK to have what I need for the next steps, plus their staff is helpful without being pushy, and that’s important for me.
