So serene! Great walk to kill an hr. The paths are well marked. Just watch the roots they are easy to trip on. And you will need to have balance in a couple of places. Definatly worth a quick trip. Some fishing too and I didnt see one patch of poison ivy!

A clean park that we were able to visit to go fishing. The social distancing guidelines didnt need to be enforced because everyone we ran into at the park were already enforcing it themselves.

Very nice for a brisk walk, lots of birds on the lake, etc. However the entrances are small (little hard to find), the path is narrow (especially at the entrance near the bridge), its also bumpy with tree roots (If you are clumsy or drag your feet youll likely trip unless you constantly watch your step). In conclusion if the cons dont bother you its a 4 out of 5, but if they do its a 2 out 5.

Great place to go for a walk along a 1.7 mile trail on the north side or a bit shorter on the south side. Park is broken up into two parts, north of the bridge and south. Its an easy walk on both sides with great views and wildlife. I only go here to take a walk many others I see here are fishing thats actually a popular spot for fishing so I assume they do pretty good. Cant go in the water but you can walk and fish Im assuming its catch and release.

Most of the shoreline is covered with brush and trees limiting the places where you can fish so its not a good place to bring kids fishing because they would need more room to spread out and less trees to prevent their lines from getting caught. Some people fishing there were standing in the lake wearing special gear to get around the problem of a lot of trees on the shoreline, but if youre a casual fisherman, you prob wouldnt have the gear for that. This place is probably better suited for a simple, leisurely nature walk than fishing for the average person looking to make use of it. Also, the trail is very narrow at spots, there were a lot of bugs when I went (It was only still April at the time) and there are only about 8 parking spaces at the main entrance. If the spots are full, youd have to park a couple of blocks away and walk back, although there are probably other places you can park and enter at different points further up along the lake.

Im here very often since its the closest trails to me. I love this place, even though its not very big and part or it is right next to Wantagh parkway. I love the flowing stream that goes over a bunch if rocks and then under a bridge we walk over. Its all dirt trails, which is what I prefer. Ive seen swans, mallards, a hawk, american coots, mudd shoveler ducks, red-winged blackbirds, woodpeckers, etc. Fishing is allowed here but there are spots with lots or lily pads where its easy to get your line caught. Ive seen several geese injured due to fishing hook and fishing line that wasnt properly disposed of, which was horrible to see. One goose swelled 7 feet of fishing line and another (a mom with baby geese) had a hook lodged into her neck. Also teenagers come here and leave beer cans and litter and even break glass bottles so it can be messy at times
