This is our first trip to Maui so I wanted a tour that provided a historical overview and Galvin did. The tour was fun, informative and my teen son really enjoyed it. I recommend sitting in the front it helps not to get motion sickness. The left side (2 seats) provides a view of the ocean the right side waterfalls. I think the left side is the best especially to take pictures. The food was great and looking forward to our second trip with them to see the Volcanoes of Maui.

We visited for our honeymoon. We were interested in doing the road to Hana tour but doing it ourselves. We decided after talking to some other people at the hotel, that we would book a tour instead. We booked this and it was great. The tour is long but very scenic. Scott was our guide and he is awesome! Special shout out to him for keeping it entertaining and answering everyones questions! If we have any friends or family that come we will definitely recommend this company, and specifically Scott! We stopped several times and people who were on tours remembered Scott from before! Thanks Scott!

My husband and I used Valley Isle Excursions for both our Road to Hana tour, as well as the Sunrise tour to Haleakala. Both trips were fantastic.Koa was our guide for the Road to Hana, and offered quite a bit of knowledge, wrapped up in a charming personality. He had drinks available all day as well. It was a long day (10+ hours) but was well worth the money. You make a full circle of the island, rather than turning around when you get to Hana.Billy and Aaron were our guides for the Sunrise tour. They kept the bus quiet on the way up there so you could get a little extra sleep. They had extra poncho blankets for additional insulation against the cold mountain winds. They also stopped at a few other places on the way back down for additional photo ops.All in all, we had a great experience with Valley Isle, and will definitely use them again in the future.

Very impressed with our Road to Hana Tour with Scott in Feb. 2019! Scott was a kind, informative, and funny guide who truly made our experience memorable! Valley Isle provides door-to-door service from your accommodations in their comfortable tour vans (12 passengers max.) Once all passengers are picked-up, you begin with continental breakfast at a golf course and then start on the Road to Hana. From there, you stop at a variety of waterfalls, lookout points, and areas of interest before reaching Hana. A tasty BBQ chicken lunch was served at a flower farm and then we continued with stops (including Charles Lindberghs gravesite) before going around Haleakala, which was amazing to see the difference in terrain, foliage, and climate! We felt this was a high-quality experience greatly enhanced by Scotts fun personality and knowledge of Maui! If youre doing the Road to Hana for the first time, I recommend doing a guided tour like this one. While its a long day regardless, the tour stops are planned out for you and it takes out the guesswork!

We hired Valley Isle Excursions to takes us on the “Road to Hana” and I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive after hearing all the stories about the twisting turning roads and the one lane bridges. But our tour guide, “Jack the Legend” made the trip as comfortable as a Sunday drive.Jack’s knowledge of the physical landscape was unbelievable. He was able to answer any and all questions regarding plant life, rock formations, beach’s, etc.His knowledge of the history of the Hawaiian islands was also unbelievable. He was able to teach us about the islands, from the first explorers of the islands today. And the way he told these stories was absolutely engaging and entertaining. My wife and 2 teenage children will always remember this trip and we would highly recommend Valley Isle Excursions and “Jack the Legend” to all our family and friends when visiting Maui.

TAKE THIS TOUR TO HANA, DONT DRIVE!Our guide, Junior, was extremely knowledge and entertaining. Your probably wondering what your going to see, we did. There were many stops and I understand they change from time to time. Im sure you can count on a continental breakfast (try the jams theyre yummy), youll learn about how the islands vegetation evolved, see beautiful coastlines, and pic opportunities over and over again. Then youll have the waterfall section with plenty of stops to get great photos. From there we went to the Black Sand Beach and the National Park, both worth seeing. Then we stopped for lunch. It was good food but dont expect gormet - after all, youre on an excursion. The next part was a surprise. ..the road back. It was rough and exhilarating! We saw the other side of the island and enjoyed the contrast. Junior even gave us the scoop on Operas residence and where Jurassic Park was filmed.Just a heads up. This ride is physically difficult and could be a bit much for some people. If your concerned, get a seat at the front of the bus and youll be fine. My wife and I were at the back of the bus and found that we were weary by the time we got home but very happy.

Went on the Haleakala sunrise tour and it was arguably our favourite morning during the entire trip! Mike and Janelle were great guides, super informative and very entertaining. We got to the summit of Haleakala quite early and were freezing outside for over an hour (make sure to bundle up!), but it was well worth the wait as we had prime viewing position for an amazing sunrise. The breakfast was probably the best meal we had on the island, it tasted great! Would definitely recommend this tour, just make sure to dress for the freezing temperatures (bring mittens)!

So glad we booked this excursion to experience the road to Hana in a way we wouldnt have been able to on our own.Our driver, Dennis, was fantastic. He was funny and knowledgeable, sharing information about the history of the island and the different locations we passed. He kept us both informed and laughing throughout the long day.We felt like we were also able to experience things we wouldnt have driving on our own or on other tours, since this excursion covered the drier, south side of the road. It just made the experience more breathtaking, getting to see the full picture of the road, and all of the shifts along the way.We had a great experience, and would highly recommend Valley Isle.

My boyfriend and I just finished the tour for the Road to Hana! A must do if you’re ever in Maui and even more so, a must with Travis! Travis was entertaining, considerate and so knowledgeable with information about Maui’s history and current state. The tour provided breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was generic but lunch was amazing! Home cooked meal that any traveler would appreciate traveling far from home. We got picked up and dropped off at our hotel and had a wonderful time. Me and wife took a road to Hana tour on 3rd January. It was by far the best tour we have ever taken and it is only because of Valley Isle. Our guide Travis was just amazing. With so much local knowledge and information he made a point that the trip becomes once in a lifetime moment for us. The food they provided was good, there was enough water and beverages. The tour was nicely paced, we never felt rushed. We also met other Valley Isle Vans on the way and pit stops, and everyone on those tours were equally happy. They picked us on time and were patient enough. Travis was 1 of the best highlights of tour along with the Road to Hana itself. We definitely recommend them. And Maui is best and we learned so much about the land itself.

My wife and I enjoyed Valley Isle Excursions Road to Hana all-day tour. The shuttle bus was new and comfortable, the driver/guide Jon-Lee was excellent and the overall experience was fantastic. Jon-Lee was a skilled and courteous driver, and he provided fascinating insights into the local history and culture - he really knew his stuff and often went out of his way to support and protect his Ohana passengers. We were able to stop many times along the winding, narrow road to take photos, use the restrooms and pick up snacks. Valley Excursions provided an ice chest full of cold drinks and a delicious home-made lunch of grilled chicken, salad and rolls. They even made special arrangements for my gluten free needs. The scenery and overall experience were unparalleled. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

Today my hubby and I took an all day trip to Hana and all the way back around the island with Valley Isle tour company. It was on my bucket list to do this trip, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! It is the BEST day I have spent on Maui!Travis, our tour guide, was the main reason this trip was so spectacular. Don’t get me wrong, the scenery and sights we saw along the way were mind-blowing, but Travis was the element that made this trip SO MUCH FUN! I learned a lot about the culture of the people of Maui and specifically, the people of that part of Maui because that is where Travis grew up. He shared interesting and funny stories, songs, and information pertaining to the people living in that area. The road itself is very narrow and curvy, and sometimes just plain rough, but Travis got us through the entire route like it was nothing. There were a couple pretty thrilling driving moments, to say the least! It was an amazing day, and I highly recommend Valley Isle Tour company. And, if you’re lucky, you might have Travis as your informative and fun guide. Thank you, Travis!

I would like to express how much we are glad we did not try to drive ourselves on either of the tours we took. Many switchbacks and sudden drop offs to deal with as well as other drivers. We are thankful to all 3 guides we had, Everett, A-Aron and Debra.Everett and A-Aron were great. Made us feel comfortable and pointed out many things on our trip to Haleakala for our sunrise tour. We are very happy and glad we didnt attempt doing this on our own, with the switchbacks and no guard rails. The food wasnt bad either at Poi by the Pound. May return on our own to try their food. The Road to Hana Tour we took was driven by Debra. Very funny and polite as she kept us safe driving around the island. Although we could not make every stop, the ones we did make were great. Even if a few people on the bus took a bit too long, it was just a few horn honks to let them know, there was no yelling or scolding. Lunch was good too.

I did the Road To Hana tour with David. And I thought he did a great job. He talked about a wide variety of things on the island such as plant life, animals, history, and pointed out cool stops. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars was that it did feel like a quick stop at each place where as I would of liked to spend more time at some of the stops. But, since it was a tour around the whole island and he was showing us so many things, staying for longer at any stop would have prolonged the trip making it too long possibly. I think this was a great option for me as a solo traveler, and I was SO glad I wasn’t driving that road by myself! Thank goodness for this tour! I also want to add that the lunch was GOOD, and I am a vegetarian so ate that option. It was an Indian curry pasta dish (not spicy). As a vegetarian I usually have to eat only sides and not get full, but I did get full from this meal and it was delicious!

Unfortunately, we did the Haleakala Sunrise tour recently when the weather conditions were horrible. Temps were in the negatives and the wind gusts were so strong that you could not stand still. My parents simply could not stand outside for longer than a few seconds at a time. Most of us took shelter in the visitor center, but we couldnt see much through its foggy windows. We could not see the sunrise due to the thick clouds covering the crater and it was not worth it to take any of the usual stops along the way down from the top due to poor visibility. There was report of black ice on the ground, as well which made me question whether the trip should have been canceled the morning of as a safety precaution.I appreciated the efforts of our tour guides and enjoyed listening to our tour guides presentation on the history of Maui/Hawaii on the way down. The food offerings (continental breakfast before tour and hot buffet after tour) left a lot to be desired.I wish there was a way that the weather conditions could be better predicted so that visitors are not put in harms way when mother nature does not want to cooperate. I was offered a second trip to make up for it, and unfortunately was not able to take them up on this offer due to schedule constraints. Just be aware when you are shelling out your money that there is no guarantee that you will get what you expect. Sadly for the 3 of us, the $500 should have been spent on something else during our time in Maui.

This road is treacherous as heck, dont drive it on your own, we saw no smiling faces as we passed those brave drivers in their rental cars, nothing but stress on those faces and nothing but smiles on ours. Tour is the way to go and then you get to enjoy the scenery while someone experienced can drive. The scenery is amazing and a huge contrast from the dry part of the island, quite the paradise. Ask for Travis as your tour guide, he grew up in Hana so he knows all the good spots and history and keeps up a good vibe throughout (he even sang us a lovely song with a ukelele at one stop), high recommendation for him. Well worth the cost. If you dont go for the scenery, at least go for the crazy road that will make you wonder how the locals live like they do.

Great tour! Eric, our tour guide, was amazing! He had so much interesting knowledge to share and really added to the enjoyment of the trip with his personality. The sights were beautiful and I was glad my husband and I did not try to drive ourselves. Not only would would the driver have missed out on some of the views but I much preferred having an experienced driver as parts of the road are a bit (very) daunting. Some of the stops along the way were not that interesting but I appreciated the opportunity to use the restroom often. Other stops were amazing. Even if I would have preferred to have stopped more frequently and for longer there simply would it have been time even if we were driving on our own. I would definitely do this tour again.

We were a group of 10 and did the Volcanoes of Maui tour. Our guide was Kammy and he was PHENOMENAL!!!! We couldnt stop talking about what a wonderful day we had. He just poured so much knowledge about the history of the island and the Haleakala mountain, the Iao valley and all of the other wonderful stops we made along the way. This tour is a must and so worth the money.

This is our first guided tour in Maui and we had a great experience. We had Charlie as our tour guide and he was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. There were several long stretches of winding and narrow roads yet he made us feel very safe with his driving. All the stops we took were just the right amount of time to see the sights. The small group for up to 12 people makes it feel more comfortable and it meant less waiting for each other. The timed bathroom stops were also definitely helpful. I definitely highly recommend this excursion and Charlie!

We had the best time. All the stops on the tour were AMAZING. The rainforest was beautiful, the banana bread was delicious and I have never seen such beautiful ocean water. We had an awesome group of people who laughed and laughed. If you get the option, ask that your driver be Charlie. He made our trip so much fun.

We did a sunrise tour, which was pretty spectacular. Waking up at 2 am was a bit challenging... But if you like Beautiful views and a bit of great star gazing, it could be worth it. Tour guides Billy and Marc were friendly, though not as genuine as they could have been.

We LOVED our Road to Hana tour! Eric was a great driver and tour guide. He taught us a lot about Hawaiian history. Only thing we were bummed about was that we didnt get to stop at a lot of the little shops along the way. I supposed if we had tho, the tour would have been 18 hours and not 10! Overall, very nice trip and lunch was yummy! Definitely would recommend eating breakfast before you go, the complimentary breakfast was VERY light. Beautiful day and beautiful island, thank you!

For the money a great tour. The driver was entertaining and knowledgeable plus a very good driver on a crazy road with crazy drivers. The breakfast was good and the lunch was not a typical box lunch. Barbecue chicken with macaroni salad. Plenty of drinks. The sites on the road to Hana were incredible. Well worth the long day and memories to cherish.

My husband and I are so glad that we decided not to try to drive the Road to Hana by ourselves. Our driver and guide was Uncle Joe, and he did an amazing job with the stories, history, and jokes!

“Tour of Hana” was a most enriching and stress-free tour experience for my son and me. Joe, a veteran tour guide and driver, was very knowledgeable and personable. Maui born and raised, he was unique in that he was of pure Hawaiian descent and possessed a deep passion for nature and Hawaiian history/culture. He effortlessly spouted out facts and figures as well as shared his personal experiences as a child and young man and entertained all of our questions. He knew everything, including the names of all the waterfalls, plants, fruits, flowers, and towns. Throughout the entire tour, Joe ensured we were comfortable with plenty of air conditioning, water and a variety of sodas. He even passed around a box of delectable chocolate-covered macadamia nuts. The shuttle (“Kauwele”) had big comfortable seats, big clean windows, and was equipped with USB ports to keep our cell phones charged up. Joe allowed us ample time to take pictures of all the water falls, beaches, and indigenous plants and trees. All in all, we felt the tour was very worthwhile and enjoyable; and so lucky to have Joe as our tour guide.

They forgot to pick us up at 3am. After waiting for 1h, we called, just for them to tell us that they were not coming and we should take our car.So to be safe, take another tour or drive up yourself. Dont forget to make a reservation with the National Park for you to get in - which they didnt tell us as well - so thanks for nothing!(The booking was made by my friend)

I’ve heard a lot of great things from our hotel Concierge desk about the best rated company to book for the Sunrise tour. The pre-dawn colors were breathtaking. Our tour guides, Everett & Tony, were informative & polite. Personally, I didn’t care much for the food or the coffee, but that wasn’t what this excursion was about.A Once if a Lifetime experience everyone should have on their bucket list.

My husband and I booked this tour through our concierge when we visited Maui in November. Our tour guide, David Snyder, was great. Very well-informed and knowledgeable. He made the trip so enjoyable with his experience, humor, and familiarity of the area. He was also very respectful and inclusive of his passengers. Im sure if we would have driven the route ourselves, we would have missed some key spots to visit. We felt this tour was worth every penny on our first-time trip to Maui.

Truly enjoyed this tour. Eric was our tour guide, he was friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and courteous. Attentive to each person on the van. 12 of us. The views were spectacular. We had a great time on our Hana Highway trip! Our driver Eric was very informative and helpful; we all learned a lot about Hawaiian culture and history. Breakfast and lunch was excellent, and we stopped just the right amount of time to experience the beauty at a number of places. Two days before our trip with Valley Isle, my wife and I had driven part of the Hana Highway ourselves, up to the Keanae peninsula, then back to Haiku. Now I am glad we did not drive the whole way. South of Hana the road is especially treacherous. In many spots very narrow, with only a ledge leading to the ocean below! Our driver was professional and safe, and he made it fun. My only suggestion is that, on the last part of the trip, have some more relaxing music, low volume, or just no music. But all in all a great adventure!

Jr. was amazing! Made the tour fun and exciting! Totally worth the trip! The road to Hana is amazing. I heard a lot of people renting cars and driving It themselves. But to be honest, I enjoyed not having to worry about it. With someone else driving you could sit back and see everything.

I was extremely unhappy with this tour! Our guide was phenomenal, he was very informative. However, me and my husband sat on the right side of the bus. The seats on the right were single seats. We couldnt see anything!!! All the views were looking out of the left side of the bus. No pictures, only when we were able to step out of the bus to take them.We were picked up last, so they were the only seats left.Very unhappy!!!
