I’ve attended many events at The Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach over a 10 year span of time and have always enjoyed my time and money spent at this venue.I’ve bought tickets to events through 3rd parties, the venue website, and most recently - the box office. All that to say, I’m truly disappointed and let down by how this business has taken care of their loyal customers throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. We were very understanding and patient when we were being laid off and didn’t have money for rent or food. We followed your guidelines to wait until 30 day AFTER the concert date to inquire or expect a refund back.It is now November 2020. I purchased nearly $300 worth of tickets for a show scheduled for May 2020 from the box office using my credit card. The concert was cancelled.I am unable to make any sort of contact with anyone to get a refund. Other customers are being offered a refund or 125% of what they spent. But not those who purchased from the box office. It is now past the time that I can dispute the charge with my credit card company due to waiting for the venue to respond. There must be people who are still employed here or can at least answer a Facebook message or email to issue a refund.Unfortunately, the customers who went out of their way to purchase box office tickets before, will think twice before handing money over again to a venue that doesn’t offer refunds to events that never happened.Your customers have stuck with you and been loyal through all of the chaos this year. Please look out for us as we attempt to continue supporting you.
Great venue! Very friendly and helpful customer service. You can see the stage well from wherever you sit. Drink prices are normal and bathroom are pretty clean. Paying for the area that had seats is fun, safe and you can see the stage great. Lawn seats are more for the dancers, partiers, pot heads, drunks and sometimes fights. We had lawn seats a couple of times. We can see the stage good but crowd can get really crazy depending on band that visits. A lot of teens and young adults in the lawn seat area.
First time back in 10 years. Concert was great. Sound was good. Plenty of bathrooms, food options and drink options. Beer is as pricey as expected about 14 bucks a pop depending on what type. 4 stars because getting in took forever. Also worth noting that although the website says you can bring water bottles and/or empty jugs you can not. You can bring them through security and then dump as much as possible into a plastic cup. Meh.Well be back Im sure.
My concert was postponed until 25 August 2021 and I was never contacted. As of 9 July Live Nation states the event organizer has closed their refund window. Great job starting the clock without telling your customers. Ill be sure to let everyone I know to avoid your venue in the future.
What a great place for a concert on a gorgeous spring night. We had lawn seats to see Zack Brown Band, and I couldnt imagine a better venue. There are plenty of refreshment vendors and facilities for use, and the entire experience was laid back and enjoyable. I dont know if its the norm for events, but there was no charge for the ample parking, as well.
Great venue, only disappointment was when they turned the screens off sometimes between songs when the band was talking or at the end when the bands were finishing up. Be prepared for traffic in and out of event, it wasnt the worst traffic but it does back up. We just waited a bit to let the mass exodus to clear up before leaving the lot and that helped us avoid sitting in traffic. You can bring chairs for the lawn or rent them there, as well as bring in food in ziplock bags and a unopened water bottle.
Typical Amphitheater seating but I will tell you they had a good variety of food and Beverages and places to sit in the concessions area. My one and only complaint, and its a big one, is the pricing for alcoholic beverages is extremely high. Its for this reason that I just cant give it a high-ranking theyre really taking advantage of the visitors.
Went to the Jimmy Buffet concert and had an outstanding time, but was super disappointed in the vendors/ venue. Went to order a yard margarita, it was all I had been talking about because of MARGARITAVILLE, and found out they didn’t have any. Seriously?! It was a Jimmy Buffet concert for goodness sake! Then about 3/4 of the way through the concert and BEFORE the encore, they ran out of Landshark and LARGE cups. Again, SERIOUSLY?! Super disappointed.
Would be nice if you would open the box office for those of us that have been waiting MONTHS for a refund!! Especially now that VB started Phase 3 two weeks ago!

GREAT Kenny Chesney concert. Always clean and nice there. The next morning not even trash in the parking lot [we stayed overnight in the RV selection! ] Clean tailgaters?
Im just not impressed with the sound of an amphitheatre concert . The amenities are better than 10 years ago . All in all the concert was good .
Great environment. Amazing artists. Expensive food.
The concert was great, but got really crowded that you could hardly move. They should cut off the ticket sales after so many. When time to leave cell towers overloaded that we couldnt get a ride share for 30 minutes.
Always a great time! Love the music genre variety the Amphitheater has. Bob Seger was awesome last night! Great music & good memories!
Fun place Love to see shows there. I appreciate the security there. Always a great time.
No one there to answer phone calls about cancelled showsdue to corona. All they give is live nation web page and they cant help if you purchased tickets at the box office.Cant believe they have no one working from home to answer question like when they will reopen.
Wonderful Live Concert Venu! Good Place to see live concerts! Good Food! Friendly Staff!
It was so cool and very laid back. Everyone and everybody was so friendly. Place was very clean and many choices of food to choice from.
Nice amphitheater. Relatively easy in and out. Food court with food soft & hard drinks. Bring your $$$$ because like most venues, none of it is inexpensive.
Had a great time. Only complaint is that the bathrooms are stiffling hot. Put up some fans!
Awesome show!!! Thomas Rhett!! Havent been here in over 20 years. Fantastic experience!
Great venue for this amazing city! Love the availability of concerts Live Nation makes the experience equally amazing with the ability to order from our seats! Don’t think there’s a single bad seat in the whole house! Would’ve given them 5 stars if only they would invest in fans!! Put huge ones in the overhead to get the air moving! That would be great! Otherwise, no other complaints!
Great place for concerts. I prefer grass seating. It does get loud and rowdy. I’ve never had any issues with this place. It’s a great amphitheater.
Concert was great! Jimmy Buffet gave an excellent performance! I give him 5+ stars! However, this venue has the absolute WORST parking EVER! Concert ended at 10:15. We made our way back to our car and were still sitting in our car without movement 1 hour later. No one coordinating traffic flow. Lots of people with glow sticks and not one with a clue! Cmon Virginia Beach, youve got a gem here - why ruin it with poor management!
Awesome place.. This venue has housed so many top notch ARTISTS FOR YEARS.. its safe an spacious youll always NJOY yourself only thing with parking.. Just get there early to avoid about issues
As some have said very nice place, highly staffed, dont think there is any bad seats, but the drinks on the other hand a whole lot of price pinching $14 for a beer a Coors Light at that..
Awesome time, if ever in va beach Virginia you should check the schedule and see what events are going on and make a must while here
Nice venue! I love it here!Seated or lawn view... you choose!
Great venue and good sound. However sneak your own alcohol in!!!!! $16 for a beer $18 for a shot!!!!!!Can hot say rip off???
Great outdoor venue for concerts. It is well maintained and organized, with plenty of staff to assist. The parking lot is conveniently located as well. There are large video screens projecting the stage performance so those with lawn tickets have no problem seeing whats happening on stage. The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of water fountains. The drawback is that since only the seated area is covered, weather will impact your experience.
Went to Janet Jackson concert. Thousands of people but staff did great job of getting everyone parked and admitted to the venue. The venue is a great place for concerts and I will return.
We had a great time tailgating before the concert. It was a little bit of a walk but worth it. This place is huge, plenty of vendors. We saw Zac Brown Band & they were awesome as always!
VB Local been several times to this venue. Just saw Imagine Dragons July 3rd. It was a phenomenal show!! They made amazing use of the avalible space to give an epic experience to the crowd. The staff assisted us with wheelchair accommodations and assisted my daughter when she got a little over heated with a fan and water. We enjoyed our night. The traffic in and out is a bit crazy, but most concerts have that issue for a sold out show of this size as well. Prices were what youd see at an amusement park for drinks and snacks, we ate before we went to avoid the up charge. BUT the large sodas are freely refillable.
I would choose Veterans United again for any future home buying needs. Working with them was easy and convenient. They make everything about the homebuyer and help with everything from start to finish.
Because I was a place that my family and I have great memories of rocking out together.
Drinks vary in prices, (most beers start $6) but overall a good venue for outdoor concerts pictures from knotfest roadshow 2019
I really enjoy this place. Been there 3 times already this month
Great concert venue, plenty of food & drink options. The restrooms are usually pretty messy, but having thousands of people coming in & out in a short amount of time, its not bad. Great video screens for the lawn view.
Wonderful time with my wife and two of our granddaughters at their first concert. KIDZ BOP KIDZ. The venue is great and so far no bad weather..
Really wonderful time here seeing Thomas Rhett in June! Staff are helpful and nice and I will definitely come back again! However food and drinks are pricey!
Ok Venue to see Live Music. Seats are jammed together. If it rains except a muddy mess getting to & from parking lot. Everything is easy overpriced as well. $15 beers $7 water and so on. Staff is getting a lil better on helping instead of rude. Seen a lot of shows here. Not much Metal comes here, maybe 2-4 a year at most. Seen Judas Priest this time.
The way this place is set up is wonderful! I loved being able to see everything even from the back in our lawn chairs. Access was easy and it’s a great place to see amazing music.
Great seats, sound, people and vendors. Will be back!!
Great concert venue with decent food and drink options
We waited in line in 90 degree heat huddled together for over 1 1/2 hours just to go through security. There were 5 stations and 1 was for handicapped. I understand that but when there arent any handicapped people around dont just stand there. Start letting everyone through that checkpoint. They actually had security telling people they cant use the handicapped even though no handicapped were going through. Is that what they were hired to do? When the concert started and it was obvious we had at least another half hour in line people started pushing trying to get through. We missed the first 40 minutes. Tickets are not cheap. They should be able to afford more security check points. If there is someone you want to see wait until they are someplace else.
During the Heart Concert. On the lawn, surrounded by smokers. Family of 6 next to me all were vaping (including kids less than 12 years of age), and it was not just nicotine.I considered going to the Willy Nelson concert, but I knew it would have turned into a marijuana fest! I don’t mind others smoking it as long as I don’t have breathe the residual smoke. You would think at an outdoor concert smoking would not be a problem, but it is the only public place in Virginia Beach where one can smoke, and every smoker in Virginia Beach was there!!!
This is a wonderful venue to see the stars for great prices. We have seen Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, and Journey here all since June 2018. This should give you a great idea of the variety of the acts that perform here. We have sat in the lawn area and the inside stage area. You can see and hear well from both due to the great sound and tv screens. They do have food and drinks such as mixed drinks and nachos, but the prices are steep. This is all around a great venue. Be prepared to do a long walk up a steep hill to get to the lawn and main stage area. You can rent a low green chair for $4 or bring your own. The walk to parking is not well lit, and leaving can be hectic due to the staffs lack of organization and guidance, but it improved each time we went. Make sure to where comfortable walking shoes because it is grass and tree branches you will step on, not a sidewalk. This was a lesson learned after our first show. All in all, a great concert venue. If you are seeing a show, get there early or you will be stuck at the light an hour because it gets congested!
Great place to see a concert. free parking. nice big lush lawn seating. you can rent chairs and blankets. food and drinks are pricey. good selection of food, beer and wine. covered seating stadium style is nice. great biew of stage, plus 5 jumbo monitors.
A complete experience. In this outdoor amplitheather there is no bad spot, I had a lawn ticket and was able to fully enjoy the concerts. Sound fill every corner of the place, the concessions are placed around the venue with thought, only downside is the price of everything which can be expected of this type of place but still. Parking was a breeze both coming in and getting out. I highly recommend this place for all you concert type needs.
Went to the last year of Warped Tour here. The venue is great, if you dont mind the high prices. Sad to see this type of music venture coming to an end.
Nothing but alcohol everywhere you look. Had to search for a place that sold a simple Pepsi. The crowd gets drunker and drunker. My can of sparkling water was taken from me at the gate. The woman behind me managed to get a jug of red wine in though, and dropped it so it rolled under my seat and leaked, soaking the hem of my skirt. I went home reaking of red wine.
Great place to go see concerts. They have a ton of parking and have plenty of people to show you where to park the traffic both before and after events is pretty insane but that is to be expected with places like this. Over all cant complain but drink a lot before because they will charge you an arm and a leg for drinks.
Great concert venue. One HUGE problem....spider webs and spiders in majority of back seats. Perhaps it would be a good idea to hose/power pressure wash all seats before an event? It is hot enough that those will dry by the time the doors open. Just some improvement thoughts. Additionally, reconsider vendor choices and the $12 bottle of water sales....one thing is to be profitable another entirely is to be vultures.
Loved Everyone Who Entertained Us Tonight! ESPECIALLY CHRIS STAPLETON! AWESOME, AWESOME AMPHITHEATER with Wonderful Staff! Well Worth us Driving the 10 hour trip from Ohio to Virginia Beach!! Hope We Get an Opportunity to Attend Another Musical Event Here!
The shows are always amazing! But the parking situation definitely needs help. Ive been going to concerts here since I can remember, but I have never had to wait 2 almost 3 hours in the parking lot line. Then we got sent to park in the high school lot, out by the tennis courts, while people were still parking inside the amphitheater lots (for a sold out show, by the way). They just reeeeally need to rethink their parking lots, & how many tickets to sell if they dont have the spots to park people.
I love this concert venue. Ive been here over a dozen times in the last couple years and its always a good time. The parking isnt that bad compared to a lot of the concert pavilions Ive been to and they have plenty of police and traffic guides to help get everyone out quickly at the end of the shows. The beer is expensive as with most concert venues but they have plenty of vendors to go to so the waits usually arent bad.One note about the box office, dont waste your time trying to wait in line to get the best tickets. The process at the window is painfully slow so youll get much better seats by just going through Live Nation or Ticket master.
Great spot to catch an outdoor concert. Ticket options are on the lawn or the seats which are under the pavilion.Couple of notes on the lawn tickets:- You can rent lawn chairs on site. The last concert I went to T-Mobile users got complimentary chair rentals - dont know if thats the case for all concerts- Concerts are rain or shine so if you have tickets on the lawn you may want to consider some upgrade options, which are available the day of.
There was a lightening storm last night. The venue didnt let us in until 2 hours after the original start time. No umbrellas neither... I was soak leaving the concert. Usually this place is good. Last night it sucked.
Free parking, great staff, not a bad seat in the place
Went to see Heart with Joan Jett and it was a good show! We had VIP, which was my first time doing the VIP and it is something everyone should try! We had table service, which was nice, but very pricey! It was nice to have access to the bar area and sitting places, plus more ladies rooms to go to!
Great venue which allows tailgating before the doors open, staff was very accommodating and you dont have to be concerned with being rained out unless on lawn but even they still had a great time.
Always a good time and they offer a cart for those of us that can’t make the long walk to our seats. Lots of food choices. All Drinks are expensive. I always take an empty water bottle and fill it at the fountain. The staff is always helpful.
Great place to see a concert. Plenty of concession stands to get a variety of food or drinks and the bathrooms were very clean . It is HORRIBLE trying to get out of the parking lot,we sat there for an hour and a half. Please get us the hell out of there faster.
Amazing venues and great place to watch concerts and amazing places to watch the show with a great view no matter where you sit
This is one of the best concert venues in America.
Concert was awesome! I love the amphitheater usually. I was incredibly aggravated that my husband spent $10 on a can cozy that he then couldnt use because they dont allow cans in the seating area! Why sell the cans and cozys if you cant use them?! Makes no sense. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! Thanks for just taking our money. Smh
Went to the final Warped Tour (2018) here. Staff is helpful and the venue was clean and accommodating.
Nice clean environment. Only thing is our show was cancelled due to weather . Thats not their fault
Surprised how nice it was. First concert the other night, and had a great time.
Chris Stapleton concert was amazing.
A great place on a great summer night to hear all kinds of bands and artist. Pretty easy to get to. Plenty of grass space. Bathrooms are pretty clean for a public place.
A pretty nice amphitheater. Lawn seats available. Food is incredibly over priced but thats to be expected I guess. Theres a app that allows you to order food and theyll deliver it to you.
Enjoyed the mary and nas show omg
Great Venue and very organized!
This area is FANTASTIC.. we’ve enjoyed many concerts there. However, there seems to be an overwhelming number of small children attending which worries me because there’s a lot of drinking, smoking, and parents leaving children unattended. There should DEFINITELY be an age limit. We go to relax and have children as well. So hearing children crying during the concert puts me on alert as a mother which makes the concert absolutely not a relaxing, good time.
I was appalled at how disrespectful they treated their employees by insisting that they stand with their backs to the stage. As if they couldnt do their job facing the stage or God forbid that they got to enjoy any part of it. Im sure the wages that they are paid far out way being treated so horrible that they will all be able to enjoy early retirement.
Pros:WoodedPlenty of bathrooms that are decently cleanPlenty of alcohol vendorsGood sound qualityRelaxed atmosphereSome options for dietary restricted patronsFree rental chairsTV’s at concessions show stageAffordableGood seats, even on lawnEasy and free parkingThey allow patrons to bring in any food as long as it’s in a 1gallon or less ziplock.Cons:Too many cigarettesNot enough food vendors caused very long lines and food shortagesToo many cigarettesNot enough drunk driving preventionToo many cigarettes, no seriously everything we brought with us absolutely wreaks of nasty cigarettes and our sinuses are inflamedSound on lawn is too quiet so we could hear people around us even when they weren’t loud, let alone the drunken ones that wereSuggestions:Create a smoking area and make all other areas non smoking, you could even charge smokers for a “Smokers Pass” and make a profit.Get more food vendors
Love it!!! Clean easy to navigate.
Love love this place. Great concerts definitely recommend
Its awesome experience especially if its a band you love also everyone is so nice
Best venue I have ever been to. It was clean, comfortable and I absolutely loved that fighter jets was flying in the background.
Chris Stapleton and other bands were awesome. Traffic was insane after show. Need to work on that. Poor traffic plan at amphitheater exit. Dont plan to go back !
I was very disappointed with not only the operations of the traffic flow, but also with the view of our seats. We sat in traffic for an hour and a half and ended up getting out of line and decided to park across the street in the shopping plaza. My husband and I ended up walking to the venue which was faster than the line in traffic. We ended up missing 60% of the Nas performance since we had to stand in the security line which moved like molasses. Finally we get to our seat and there is a huge pole obstructing our view of the performance. Aside from that the stage screen was also blocked by the overgrown bamboo to the left of the stage. The website did not show nor note the details of the seat section. Our seating was in section 205 seats 36 and 37 row J. Avoid this section at all cost. Viewing show from the aisle is not an option which is understandable for safety reasons. Performances and music was great, but overall the amount of money we paid for our tickets was not worth it.
My experiences here keep getting better and better. Was appreciative that allowed to bring either own water bottle to refill on such a hot day. Security personnel were friendly yet stern in their policy enforcement. Facility was clean and maintained.
Ill tell you what.....as much as i prefer to listen to live music outside, the cigarette smoke has me longing for indoor concert venues with stricter rules. The facility is beautiful, i love that most of the workers are volunteers because it keeps them friendly and unbored but my god.....the smoke. Ive heard you cant smoke in the viewing area of the stage but if thats true, it is not enforced. P.U. killing me to pretty much 3 stars.
I forget how hot summer nights can be. Other than the weather, this is a great place for a show. If you have an option to buy preferred parking, it is worth the price to avoid the traffic.
Concert was amazing except the staff was constantly harassing some of the patrons for the littlest things and it was distracting from the show. For an outdoor venue its pretty sad you cant vape/smoke. I kind of get the cigarettes because of the butt clean up, but really its the same as the smoke machines the bands use!?! Some of the staff was amazing and very helpful, other staff members were slightly power hungry and it took away from the show. I will not be going here again unless its a concert I cannot catch at another venue. I wish the concert was at the Portsmouth Pavilion, they dont harass people constantly.
Always fun great place. Grounds are always clean bathrooms are clean and there are plenty so the line moves fast! We always have a great time when we come here!
Good concerts have been attended here and staff are very organized, professional and courteous. One staffer caught someone smoking and swiftly took care of the problem. I was impressed how fast they caught that.
The veterans united amphitheater is a decent venue for a midsized event. It has a moderate pit area and pretty comfortable seats. Also note that this is an outside venue, whether that is a positive or negative is up to you and the season. That being said, the biggest issue I had was that security was obnoxiously tight. After verifying tickets and utilizing metal detectors at the front, they herd you half a mile to the food and drink area, then push you past dozens of security ticket checkers. Every seating section had someone demanding to see your ticket. You cannot buy a seat and then go hang out in the pit. You cannot buy a pit ticket and then go grab an empty seat later. Your seat is assigned. Every time you go to get a drink or use the restroom, expect to have your ticket checked 3 or more times on the way back.
Friendly staff, grounds are kept nice, bathrooms are kept well, but high beverage prices. And when its a general admission show, EVERYONE should have access to front area by the stage, not just a select few, and or lawn section should be open if thats the case.......not cool to heard everyone into seating area only. This venue has slowly been becoming less and less appealing everytime we return.
Great venue, well organized, staff is super friendly.
Ill give you a little hint. Buy section 101 or 103 row Y (last row lower level) the isles are twice as wide and you have a yellow concrete slab to set drinks on/put feet up a little.
Had to go pick up my Something In The Water 2020 Tickets ! Was captured by the news standing in line and these were some of the cars that came through to get their tickets as well.
Nice and clean. My son lost his phone there. The administration was nice and let us in to look for it.
This is my 2nd concert here. Went Lawn both times. Dont think there is a bad place to sit in the entire place. Saw Def Leppard last time and now Luke Bryan today. Being a good chair and enjoy. Sound is good.
