We visited this venue to experience the annual Dance Dimensions recital. The Sandler Center has always provided a classy and comfortable environment to enjoy an array of performances. The ushers were pleasant, and the ladies at the concession stand were delightful. I have been here as a chaperone on field trips also, and they still did not disappoint. I look forward to the next event at this center for the performing arts.
This is a fantastic venue - especially for comedy. I think the most outstanding quality of this joint is the employees - I spoke with many of them while I was there, and they were all fantastic and very helpful! Heck, they even helped me move my seat when my neighbors were a bit too intoxicated for me to hear the jokes the headliner was telling. The Sandler Center is very clean and well-kept, and quite up to par with other venues Ive visited across the country. Great place for a show, Im sure it would be fantastic for a symphony or play - heck, just about anything. Also, Im not sure if I lucked out or something, but I managed free parking. That was a nice plus!
This is a very convenient venue. The place is very well kept. There are different levels. While attending a concert, I actually enjoy being in the front row on one of the two balconies. This allows you to have the option of remaining seated without having anyone obstructing your view of the stage. There are plenty of parking options around. Fortunately, the garages around are free. There are also several restaurants in the area.
I saw masters of illusion there and it was a good show. The sound and atmosphere were good. Parking wasnt bad. The only negative thing is, the seating is very close and makes it hard to get by people who are already seated, or for people to get by you when your seated. Its worse than the movie theatre for sure. Thats what kept it from 5 stars for me.
My first time at the Sandler Center was yesterday and its been here for years. I attended the Price is Right and won the grand prize lol.The Sandler Center is located in the Town Center area of Virginia Beach. With parking everywhere, it is kind of impossible to say that you cant find parking. There are opinions of streets, lots, and garages all over. There are so many restaurants around to grab a quick bite to eat prior to seeing a show. The center has great architecture. Very sleek in design with also a feel of classy. There are so many seats in the building, you cannot have a bad seat. While attending the Price is Right Live, my family and I ended up getting balcony seats. The elevators will help you get from one floor to another quickly or you can take the stairs. During some events, there will be concessions.Nice to know that the first memory of being at the Sandler Center will be when I won a $2,100 fridge during the Price is Right. I cannot wait to come back for more shows in the future.
This was an exceptionally great concert...the orchestra was in great form and was led by a wonderful conductor, who clearly showed his appreciation of their performance. What an inspiration! Thank you, VSO!
This may be the best venue Ive heard music or played in. I used to play in Symphonicity (The Virginia Beach Symphony) and the ability to hear sections across the orchestra while playing or listening to the music out in the hall was absolutely superb. The interior design of the concert hall is modern and beautiful. I love this place. I attended a concert here of Harry Connick Jr, and he kept saying throughout the concert, what a great place this is to perform in. High praise from a great musician. Plenty of parking in the area and plenty of places to shop and eat.
Class act from top to bottom. This place is lovely, well run and just generally spectacular. Every show weve been to here has been a good time, and the ticket prices are more than reasonable. There is not a bad seat in the house, and acoustics are incredible.
We hosted a show for elementary school aged students at the Sandler Center. The staff was exceptional! They were all very kind and very helpful. We had some hiccups and the staff was so quick to roll with the punches. I would recommend them to anyone looking to put on a show.
Its nice in here went 2 see the Disney Musical wit my daughter n her 1st grade class n all the 1st classes at her school we really enjoy the show
Beautiful spot, nice acoustics, good selection of talent coming through. Way better than Chrysler ...more intimate and much prettier. Good size for the local area.Ample parking garages for easy access is a nice bonus and lots of places for a cocktail or meal, before and after. Nice date night
A beautiful place to enjoy entertainment of various groups. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Loved the experience.
First time at the Sandler Center...We had Orchestra Box B seats, and they were great. There was lots of leg room, and we could angle our chairs towards the stage. Because the chairs are not connected, like the stadium seating in the center orchestra, there was a lot of elbow room, too.Tip: Bring a bottled drink or buy the sippy cup at the bar. No open lid drinks allowed in the theater. But the sippy cups are reusable for future shows!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved seeing Mary Poppins. Just wish the seats were more comfortable
It was very easy to locate first of all and public parking is close by for free. I felt everyone was very friendly at the entrance and the bar. Our seats were comfortable as well. The interior looked updated with this cool woodworking that resembled a nest of sorts or pickup sticks? I would definitely return for a concert performance!!! Highly recommend you go!
Not large, but decent size seats. Doesnt appear to be a bad seat in the house, but I didnt try them all. Good sound and a nice staff round things out. Only downside is that parking is difficult to find.
We went for a school field trip. And the staff was so happy and friendly. With all the littles running around it was nice to have a friendly face escorting us to seats and keep us in line. :) great seats and a great experience.
Concerts sound great! They could use more help at the beverage stands though!
Awesome experience! The acoustics was phenomenal there! My wife and I went to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and it was great! Will definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting a great performance location.
Its a beautiful place. I just saw Three Dog Night, they were great.
This place is great. Convenient parking and super friendly staff. Weve been several times and look forward to our next visit.
This is the second time I have gone to purchase tickets at the box office where the ladies behind the counter either were unsure of how things were to go or just plain slow. Tonight was a little of both. I stood at the window as she stared at the computer for 6 minutes causing a line behind me.I asked her what was the hold up she said she had broken her wrist and was doing the best she could. Why do you put people in that type of situation. She shouldnt have been working that window. The other older lady I suppose a supervisor was helping the other lady working the other window reprinting will call tickets because something happen to the ones that had printed. All in all it was a disaster buying tickets tonight.
Amazing. Staff was incredible. Went to see Chicago and the quality of the whole performance was simply impeccable.
The Sandler Center is a beautiful venue to catch a show. But we dont go there nearly as often as wed like because just like every other establishment in Town Center it is super expensive! Its a smaller, intimate type venue & its like they try to make up for it by charging twice as much per ticket. A real shame for those who either cant afford it or refuse to pay that kind of money to catch some decent live music!
Accessible seating is excellent. Friendly and professional ushers are greatly appreciated. Good parking.
Our experience was amazing! We attended a concert of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The facilities were clean and the staff were extremely accommodating. The disability seating was a little difficult as we had a party of three (one was a minor) and naturally we wanted to sit as a family. We purchased three tickets and called in advance and were told who to meet. We had a lot of undo stress before the show because we were told we could not be seated together because of the layout of the box area. My husband ended up sitting in a folding chair so he could stay with our son and me. It was unexpected and stressful, but the staff were kind during the show (except the usher who insisted my husband couldnt sit in the seat and I wanted to scream...). The usher switched his seat for a different chair in the middle of the show - it was quite distracting. I was just happy to be out of the house. Now Im not sure what rating to give.
The acoustics are fantastic and service to match. Great venue.
Cool venue for show. Recently went there to see Deja play The Wall and it was awesome. A few problems with drinks, only one concession open, and the line took forever. Compounding that were the sweet ladies manning that bar who clearly werent bartenders, lol. Give them some training or bring in some college kids who know how to pour a beer. Last, and I know to expect overpriced everything at every venue, but to take ones drink into the show an $8 sippy cup had to be purchased. Good grief.
Came here to see Miss Bernadette Peters. A beautiful venue for an incredibly talented woman.
Absolutely loved it. We went to see Bruce Bruce the comedian. Well definitely will be back nice experience.
Love the emerging artist Out of the Box series. You will too!
It was a very nice venue. We attended a jazz concert.
Located in beautiful Town center . Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Management is eager to please and assist. This is a great place, the acoustic is excellent. Please support fine arts in VB.
Great venue to see anything. Not a bad seat in the house!
This center is the perfect location for all kinds of talent, both musically and theatrical.
Live music for The Wall movie. Pretty damn good for not Pink Floyd.
We visited here for a dance competition. The restrooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and I loved that the dressing room had a bathroom inside. There was 2 hour parking all around which made it a little difficult on long days, but if you stay at a nearby hotel its easy to walk to and located near a shopping center and plenty of food places as well.
Place is great. They open the doors too close to the event. People are piling up in the lobby for too long.
The Out of the Box show with Anthony Rosanno was wonderfully done!
I took my children to see the Home for the Holidays show. We really enjoyed the show and beautiful Theater.
Recently went to see the ballet of the Nutcracker, and many concerts and events before that... an awesome concert place!
Great acoustics and decent garage parking make this a superb medium sized (approx. 1600 seat) venue for music or stage performances.
Beautiful venue, incedible accoustics, and not a bad seat in the house.
Very nice experience. Most centers have it either too cold or too hot a very comfortable temp was held and room in the seats. You dont feel like you are squeezed in like sardines. Will be coming back to enjoy more shows and concerts
Acoustic excellence !!Seating with comfy leg roomMusic piped into Restroomd
First time visiting here for a graduation (Virginia Culinary School) very nice facility. There was a reception prior to the graduation where some of the students prepared appetizers which were excellent by the way. Nice place I would go again.
Great show with Three Dog Night. They played all the favorites.
We enjoy attending events at the Sandler Center. A first-rate venue.
The childrens show was absolutely great. They enjoyed themselves.
Great venue. Eddie B is hilarious. Lots of good food to cool.
Jingle Bell Jam was a fun concert for the kids. Sandler is a fine venue.
Fleetwood Mac Tribute concert a perfect nite. Beers with purchase of cup was over the top price. 2 beers case n a half price. All n all worth the memories, just remember to bring back cup to next event.
We loved Cinderella! The music, theater and sound was outstanding. We will definitely go again!
I always love this place its played back and smooth
Very nice center and a great 3 story building located in. The optimal part of town center!
Great actos/singers. Wonderful live music. Well worth the money
Thank you Sandler Center for an excellent night at the ballet! The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. The ushers and ticket staff are very friendly and helpful. The performance was delightful! Your extra efforts made the whole experience magical for my granddaughters and I.
We went to see the Abba tribute concert. It was very nice. However, the souvenir shop had only one color hats and 2 color t-shirts only and cash only, with no atm on premises.
Always enjoy this venue! Not a bad seat in the house!
Watched a dance competition...so beautiful those girls
Love this place for plays and concerts. All seats are good and the sound sure beats Chrysler Hall in Norfolk. Parking is easy, too, and plenty of restaurants to go to right around the corner.
Absolutely love Sandler Center. Best place in Hampton Roads for a concert. Saw Travis Tritt tonight doing an acoustic show. FANTASTIC!!!! Sound, lights and his talent. All first class. Saw Kansas there a few months ago. Same thing,FANTASTIC!!!!
Went for the Bach Cello Festival amazing staff and enjoyed the show very much
Great location. Clean, easy access and very helpful employees. Parking can be a little challenging but theres plenty close by - you just may have to walk from across Virginia Beach Blvd.
YNot Wednesday nights have been wonderful this summer. Will miss the mid-week fun!
Great acoustics and sightlines. Friendly staff!
Always a pleasure coming to the Sandler Center. The staff and service is amazing!
Great acousticsVisited for a shows and enjoy the time spent . Good seating, good shows ... Hope to return there soon .
Very nice facility. Not a bad seat in the house.
Great venue. Sound quality awesome. Not a bad seat in the house. Chick Corea and Bella Fleck concert was amazing. More please.
Best venue to see any act... Not a bad seat in the he place. Staff always friendly and helpful
Beautiful atmosphere with great acoustics. Nice employees. Pleasant and helpful.Great location and free parking!! What a plus!
Love the variety of entertainment offered, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Always excited to see whats coming next!
We attend the center because of a dance competition and let me say I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful place, well kept and staff is friendly we are happy to return in couple days for nationals
Street and garage parking but you still need to allow time to walk a little bit. Theres a courtyard in front of the main entrance that is large enough to accommodate a weekly summer Farmers market, vendors, band. be aware there are streets on either side that have parking, but you would have to be an early bird for that. Friendly ushers, okay I know some of them from performing organizations, and I think its a great idea to have these volunteers greet us, welcome us, and usher us into the performances. Comfortable seating, good views everywhere, always enjoy going to the Sandler, and so happy Va Beach has this venue for so many excellent performers, international, national, regional, and local. Thanks! Could someone please donate a good quality rehearsal piano for the Miller studio/rehearsal hall? Its sorely needed.
Spacious and great seating. Pretty and modern
The absolute best place to see a concert! There is absolutely not a bad seat! And the Acoustics are phenomenal, in fact Im going to see Travis Tritt there Monday night! You got to go its amazing!
Amazing acoustics! Intimate venue.
I played here once it was very fun
Beautiful venue, awesome shows check out there schedule online or there Facebook page. Really wanting to bring my grandmother here to watch Mama Mia in April!!!
Loved Virginia Symphonys PB&J Series. Lots for kids to two. Kid friendly show duration.
The venue itself is located in a nice, calm town center area. I came to see Tianwa Yang’s oerfmance with the VSO. Hearing the Virginia Orchestra Symphony live in the auditorium was fantastic. The instruments sounded full and in perfect unison throughout each and every movement of the performance. I look forward to coming here more often for their future events.
Did absolutely nothing to stop the interruptions of a very drunk heckler which ultimately lead to a bad performance. But were quick to jump down your throat and toss you out about a Coke bottle inside the venue.Just pathetic the way staff conducted the event that night.
Beautiful facility and this was the first concert I had ever attended. The center was beautiful and I am thankful for the opportunity to attend!
Maestro met with patrons in lobby after performance. Organized staff was pleasant and helpful.
The Sandler center is great. I went here to see the Nutcracker. Plenty of seating and they have the best performances. Great location
Went to small concert last night that was part of Out of the Box series. Turned out that if you paid for VIP table, which was essentially Walmart porch furniture, you could sit.If you didnt, you were expected to stand for 3 hours. Whoever was responsible for this situation needs to be looking for a job.
