The deserve more than 5 stars Id give them 10 stars if I could. I called in the morning when it was pouring rain to see if they were open and the owner answered the phone and said that they were closed with the kids starting school and were in the middle of figuring the hours that would work. She asked me what I was looking to do and I said that I was just looking to do something inside with it being cool and pouring with rain. She said that she could open it up for my Granddaughter at 3:00 for her to come in, I questioned her and asked her that I thought they were closed that day and she said yes but she would come in for my Granddaughter so that she could paint something I really have not heard anything like this kind of kindness to come into her store to open it up just for 1 person. When we arrived I kept on praying that someone would of walked in to paint something in the store but no such luck. But well be back and hopefully to have a party there also if COVID-19 clears up to have a party. She had her mask and a faceshield on and kept her distance to make us feel comfortable, she did everything she possibly could have done to make us feel safe and comfortable.Thank- You The Painted Penguin, well be back..
Great, clean and nice place but little bit pricey
It was a great experience for my son to make something for his father for Fathers Day, and I remember adoring businesses like these as a child. However, I feel it is a tad overpriced. At a hefty $17, we painted a six-inch figurine that I couldve purchased at a craft store with paints for less than $10.If the store associate had been more interactive, or even hospitable, I would have easily understood the upcharge, but she really seemed bothered that we interrupted HER Saturday morning. My experience with these types of establishments was that the associates were always friendly with the children and interactive, but that is definitely not what we received.Save yourself the extra $5 and gas money, and go to a craft store to do the project at home.
My daughter and I had a great time at The Painted Penquin. They had a large birthday party going, but still had staff to help everyone else. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great place for a rainy day
Great little place and the workers are a lot of help
Visited the day it opened (November 18, 2017 which was yesterday) and the people were very nice and its a great place. It used to be open but closed in 2012 and was replaced by AMC.
Great concept with most workers very friendly. Awful front desk manager that made every effort to ruin birthday party for our daughter including cancelling some services we ordered and still charging for it.
Never been but looks decent
