Its hitting two birds in one stone. At first my goal is to just have my son lose weight for his health his 11yrsvold 54 and weighs 165 a typical boy whose cooped up in his room playing video games no activities.Since he like basketball and not really good at it .I search on line and found Hoop Dream. They will give you a free one day workout .And was impressed on how dedicated coach Beno with his students,The discipline that he teaches the kids are amazing. He teaches them how to work and help each other .i think its more than a workout.Basically he teaches them how to succeed in life. And the price is a real bargain !!!My son lost 15 lbs and hes getting better with his games in school.Iam so grateful !!!Were in our second package .And will be signing up again .
I feel strongly that Coach Memory is one of the best skill instructors and talent evaluators on the West Coast. He is a trusted source for college basketball coaches and helps his players get better. I have had the pleasure of observing him in action for years, and he has always delivered.
Kumbeno Memory has played a crucial role in my development as a basketball player throughout my career, from middle school, through high school and college, and now professionally; 15 years working together now. Coach Beno is both a student and professor of basketball and he really understands how to teach the game and develop players of various skill levels and ages. Hoop Dreams Basketball has been teaching the game the right way for years and is a great place to train and improve basketball IQ and skills.
This camp has been amazing for our son. He has improved not only in his skills but his confidence level too. They are pushed to find their greatness and for our son he has realized potential he didnt know he had. I would highly recommend these camps and also private lessons to all that are interested. Cant say enough good things.
Hoop dreams basketball is a great training program. Lead by Kumbeno memory, hoop dreams strives to teach each player the right way to play basketball. This program not only impacts a players skill development, but also character traits that are utilized in everyday life. Great basketball. Great people!
Superb! We have known Beno and his program now for over 10 years. He is consistent in his intent to improve your player. With 3 sons our family has had a lot of interaction with Hoop Dreams. I couldnt recommend it more strongly for your ball player
Hoop Dreams training is superior! Beno teaches kids theTRUE GRIT of the game, while keeping the kids engaged. The level of competition, focus on communication, and movement with and without the ball on the court is exceptional!
Benos workouts are the best in the Portland area. My son has learned a lot about himself and the game. Hes learned to work harder and smarter. I wish I had Hoop Dreams when I was that age!
Changed the way I view basketball in a positive way. Learned a lot of Basketball IQ and how to be a vocal leader. Clinic have pushed me out of my comfort zone and have helped me strive to better things on the court and outside basketball.
Hoop Dreams Basketball is the best place I have found in the PNW to learn what it is and how to be, a well rounded player on both sides of the ball. If you want your player to learn and understand the right way to play the game, send them here. My now 10 dif not love basketball before working with Hoop Dreams. Anyone with a kid interested in the game should bring your child here to learn the game.
I coach at Camas High School and Kumbeno Memory is the best trainer I’ve seen in the PNW, hands-down. There is a reason that many of the top players in the Portland metro area have worked with him through the years. Beno not only elevates each player’s skill level, but he trains their mind to allow them to be as successful as possible. He preaches toughness, both physically and mentally, which separates many of the top players from everyone else. If you are serious about basketball, I would highly recommend getting out to one of Beno’s training sessions as soon as possible.
I have been training with Coach Beno for a little over a year, and I have learned a ton from him about what to do on and off the court. He strives to teach kids how to be the best basketball player they can be, as well as a respected player off the court. He teaches you the “right” way to play basketball and he really focuses on the more important parts of basketball like fundamentals, defense and a players IQ. He shows you all the finer details of basketball that help you be the best player you are capable of being.
Beno is a great trainer. He is able to connect with players instilling in them the importance of hard work to achieve their goals. Along with fundamentals, Beno teaches the game by building players Basketball IQ. He is very engaged during training sessions ensuring everyone is actively participating and learning.
Ive been working with Coach Beno for the last year and a half and have shown much improvement since beginning his workouts. Would definitely recommend it for those looking to take their game to the next level.
Best basketball trainer and coach in the metropolitan area; self described basketball junkie and dedicated mentor. If you want your son or daughter to get everything out of their talent, this is the program for you. My son has been working with Beno for six years. He will tell you the best (and hardest workouts) are at Hoop Dreams. My daughter recently started attending JV practices. Its her first choice work out too. I have watched Beno coach for a few years. His teams always play beyond their perceived potential. Thats playing smart basketball.
If your looking for basketball training to help elevate your child, then Beno is the guy to see. Coach Beno not only does a great job developing the basketball skills needed, but also spends a good deal of time on basketball IQ. If you want your child to get better and understand the game this is the place to be.
Its a pleasure to write a review for Hoop Dreams Basketball. Beno, as he is affectionately called, has been an integral part of our familys life and the life of my son for the better part of 10 years and continues to be. Beno played a crucial role in Bryces post high school/college matriculation decision and his input is valued, respected and most appreciated. The skills and mindset that has been taught, instilled and nurtured under Benos supervision and coaching is invaluable. If you are looking for a program that teaches hard work, dedication, motivation, good sound basketball skills and IQ I highly recommend Hoop Dreams.
Our son has been attending group trainings with Coach Kumbeno for almost two years. We just invested in his private trainings. Coach Kumbeno is all about basketball IQ and explains the why! He challenges our son and pushes him to be the best he can be. As a parent, I like Coach Kumbeno because he is a resource for us. I recommend Hoop Dreams basketball to anyone that LOVES the game of basketball. You wont be disappointed after attending a group session or private session.
My son started working with Beno last year. When he tried out for 8th grade all the coaches noted that he saw the most significant improvement of all the local players. If you want to work, see improvement in confidence, knowledge and grit, go to Hoop Dreams. Prepare to be uncomfortable and to work, Beno will get your best out of you.
Hoop Dreams Basketball; Ive learned everything I know about basketball from Kumbeno Memory (the founder of Hoop Dreams Basketball). Hes a great mentor, teacher, leader, coach, etc. he knows what he is doing, and he does a great job at what he does. Kumbeno strives to teach a good brand of basketball and he does, he knows the ins and outs of the game of basketball, and Id definitely recommend anyone who is really serious about basketball and is wanting to know the correct way of basketball to train with him!
If you want to know your limits go to Beno. There is nothing more motivating than to be challenged to know your limits. You cant push your limits until you know where they are and push past.
I got involved with Coach Beno and hoop dreams a year ago as Coach Beno my son as part of Portland basketball club.. Coach Beno is a very good fundamental coach but he really excells in teaching his players to play the game the right way to think the game..You will hear a lot that you can do drills all day long but if you cant understand when or how to use those skills in game situation they mean nothing..Beno preaches Have a Basketball IQ, play the right way, communicate with your teammates, push yourself out of your comfort zone, sacrifice for the good of team. All of these things kids can take with them into the real world after basketball..My son learned all of these things and it showed this winter Coach Beno continues to talk to college coaches on my sons behalf.. So if you are looking to learn how to do it the right way then thus us the spot and for my family Coach Beno is not only a coach hes a mentor and a friend
Hoop Dreams basketball is the premier basketball training program in the Portland area. Coach Beno consistently brings great energy and enthusiasm to the training sessions. His basketball savvy and IQ are unpralled as well as his coaching ability and understanding of his players. Despite Benos young age he has been around basketball his entire life and his experience is evident in his coaching. Beno has produced countless high level athletes and when you train with him you know youre making a good investment for your future in basketball.
My son was playing and training with a few basketball clubs in town throughout his middle school, now in Tigard High School team has been training with Benos Hoop Dreams for the past 2 years. He is loving it. He has improved and learn so much from the training. Beno always push all the players to be a better and smart athlete. My son gets to train and play against much bigger, taller and talented players through out the years. From top National High School players, College (such as former Ducks Mike Moser,) to International Pro basketball players. He would face those 65 to 610 players toe to toe on the court during practices. My son is only 58 during his 8th grade. Beno would make him and other developing players to see the reality that they have to face on the basketball court and not only playing against them but make them self become a better player by challenging each other. He would show the players how to play as a team but at the same time execute plays them self as a player. My son has been wanting to go back training again during the HS winter season but unfortunately there is no Varsity Practice at Hoop Dreams in the winter. So Ive been asking a bunch of his previous coaches and some experts in basketball business in town if they know any other coaches or facility that I can put my son in during winter. They all said that nothing close to Benos quality of Training. So he cant wait to go back to Hoop Dreams soon.
