Visited during Slayland (Covid fright nights replacement) and Im really happy to say the virus wasnt the scariest thing there! They did a great job enforcing masks, social distancing, and crowds. I felt safe and comfortable. We rode every ride, and a handful of them repeatedly without lines. Great work adapting! I just wish it wasnt $40 a head including for children.

Terrible place,Prices of tickets are more for lessEnforcing social distancing did not existWait times are absurd for rides due to covid and 50% capacityThe donuts were stale...The only good this was the churro i bought.50$+ for 2 hours of nothingThe new attraction they had during covid was a joke compared to any haunted house. I even saw an actor having a coffee on the job instead of doing his job trying to scare people.Reading most other positive reviews look paid for or people have really low expectations at the moment.

Playland is a great place to take the family. There are a number of rides for little kids (toddlers) or older ones (teenagers). With COVID-19 there is a lot of walking room, and a lot of locations to sanitize your hands. Also, if you dont have a mask or face covering, they have some available.

Terrible experience. I would recommend anyone reading this to avoid. They said they sold limited tickets...I imagine this meant they sold as many as people wanted. The lineup just to get in was 40 mins and we showed up early. Most of the rides were closed and the lineups were enormous for 30 second rides. The social distancing made no sense either. Some rides people were packed together and some had most of the seats empty.Pathetic money grab by Playland.

I dont know why they charge so much for the limited rides and basically none of the thrill rides are included. I think they should have a balance because the full ride option is not feasible for many as one may not prefer to go on the extra scary ones or extreme rides. I hope they are reasonable other than that we like the experience

Went on Oct. 24th. Underwhelming and disappointing. No social distancing, lines were long and slow due to half the rides being closed and only one or two staff operating and sanitizing the rides (which took about 10-15 mins to do so). In a span of 4 hours I was only able to get on 4 rides. I do applaud their attempt to make it safe and fun, however, more could have been done to provide an enjoyable experience.

First day of Playland 2020..... We paid full price and half of the attractions were out of service. Food options were limited to 2 kiosks & the prices have increased. The staff seemed unable to manage the guests who refused to wear a mask. We saw staff at one attraction cleaning and we were there for over 4 hours. We stayed as long as we did to try and get our moneys worth on the attractions that were in service. The greeters did a fair job at explaining the physical distancing rules however they lacked the confidence to instill a sense of importance to follow these rules. We found Playland 2020, what is typically a fun experience, to be disappointing. Asking people to pay full price for this is unreasonable. Period.

Complete waste of time and money. Packed with people even with limited tickets available because of covid, and since they only fill rides to half capacity now, the wait times are insane. Literally an hour and a half wait for the beast and wooden roller coaster, which were the only 2 non children rides open. Plus when they have to take a 5 minute break to sanitize a ride, its more like 20 minutes and the ride staff literally look like theyre trying to take as long as possible. Not worth it, never coming back.

We had a great time. Playland has done what they can during Covid. Hand sanitizer stations located at every ride, both before queue and after ride. Souvenir masks given at entry. Only downfall is that it is almost impossible to distance in queue if it snakes around and unfortunately a few people who either forget or dont care. Other than that we witnessed rides being sanitized periodically, which was nice.

I love the PNE! Especially since it’s so close to home. It’s very fun with rides for all ages and if your a tourist and your traveling to Vancouver, the PNE should be on the top of your lists for places to visit. Lots of food, carnival games. They only have three roller coasters, the Corkscrew, (Which they recently closed down) The Wooden Roller Coaster, and Kettle Mines (Which is for the younger kids) So really they only have one roller coaster which is disappointing but I heard they are expanding the PNE which I hope brings another roller coaster. Anyway, It’s still a fun place to go.

Avoid pne and play land absolutely should be cancelled. It’s a joke: 40 mins for food, barely see anything in a car and few inflatable dinosaurs and animals. No.I thought it would be a nice day to take toddler for some baby rides at Playland. After two rides I just left. They charge $30 for child and surprisingly $30 for parent = $60 for only a very few rides (3 rides: train, tea cups, merry go round etc ) I didn’t see the height chart until on the way out stating corresponding rides with height at entry inside the gate. I would of been helpful to see this first and this be pointed out online and immediately upon arrival. Because my child was 35 inches was denied almost every ride except merry go round ( very dirty and run down looking no music nothing special like carousel in Burnaby ) it goes around 4 times, little train that goes around once etc. Just not worth it in my opinion wait until the kid is 4-5 and save your money and go to the free water park across the street at Hastings Community Center or the free water park at Italian garden with Covid it’s just not worth it and more stress than fun unfortunately.

Biggest and best wooden roller coaster in the world. Sad to see the corkscrew go, but with Playland expanding I am excited to see what comes next. Always order the mini donuts, but dont eat to much before going on rides like Enterprise or Breakdance. The Beast is utterly terrifying. I’m scared of height and I have light motion sickness, but I still find the ferris wheel and the super fast ride significantly fun! The mini golf was also relaxing and enjoyable :)Staffs were alright. Half of them were very happy, friendly and welcoming as they smiled and laughed all the time, and they started conversations with people. Meanwhile, the remaining staffs were very tired and bored, especially the guy at the mini golf and the Asian girl at the kid slide (near the entrance, when you use a small thick piece of fabric to sit on and slide down). They were quite grumpy, they did not want to talk to anyone, and they only wanted the day to be over.Food was CRAZY EXPENSIVE! I’d highly recommend bringing your own food, which can be bought from the McDonald’s nearby or anywhere else, or home-made.Despite some unwanted experiences with staffs, I’ll still definitely go back!

Super fun place to go, it’s very diverse in term of the visitors. One of the best parts is that on particular days PNE offers adult nights which is super great and no need to worry about kids around you. The downside is that there is always a big line up. Some rides are not included in the admission tickets and are overly expensive too. Admission tickets themselves are also very expensive per person which is one of the reasons why many people are not coming back there. In addition to that, rides are getting old, hopefully, PNE can get something new in.

An annual affair for most locals, PNE and playland offer all the fair events you need in a limited dose to keep you going until vacation. Wooden coaster attraction is a heritage and a bomb, and seems to be the last coaster left unless new rides come in. Park seems to be in the middle of modernizing some of their rides with newer versions though and this year (2019) saw the replacement of the older swings with a new version... (Bucket seats...yuck)Come for the day, get the ride pass if you plan on doing more then 3-4 rides and try not to junk out on the fair food.

PNE Fair usually happens mid-to-late August, and ends in early September, usually on Labour Day. For the past few years, they are closed on Mondays due to lack of attendance in past fairs. There are many ways in saving for admission. They do offer free admission days (X2 days), library day (show a valid library card), VanCity members (show your VanCity Credit Union card) and so on. Just check PNE.ca for deals.Parking is $20 unless you want to pay the little old ladies hawking parking spots on their properties. Transit is also good too. Free parking is available, just have to look for them about several blocks away (just make sure you pay attention to the street signs, or else pay $150 parking fine!)Games? Different games offer different prizes. Maybe I didnt notice in previous years, but the smaller kid games is guaranteed a prize. More or less, you are paying for the stuff animal. So, $5 gets a small prize to $20 get you a jumbo one. I think this is such a smart move on the PNE Fair, cuz its a money grabber but also, encourage kids to play!?My game that I play is whack-a-mole. Scored 2 jumbo stuffed animals for $10, but you need at least 9-11 players.Food? Beer? Drinks? Always expensive. The mini donuts have gone up in price this year. It 1 bag $5, 2 for $10 or 3 for $13. In 2018, it was 3 bags for $10! I guess oil has gone up!But, overall, its the experience.Marketplace? What amazes me is people go nuts for the steam mops, air coolers, chair massagers.Toon City? A different children experience. My kids highlight of the day. The dancers were awesome especially this one lone guy. Then another show on the Super Academy. Very eventful.Barn yard: same thing every year, barn animals, discovery kids tour to horse riding, blacksmith show and so on. So thankful for the sinks to wash those hands!?Rides? I cant say much on this, as my kids a bit young for them. Sure, they got children rides, but its super pack. I would rather come during Playland when its quieter and shorter lines!?Arcade? Its gone. Boarded up and the main entrance is block by the how strong you can hit game.Dog show? The stroller parking is crazy. Great to park it, crazy after the show. The staging area is now 3/4 the ice rink. Which means less seats. White Spot is in the Coliseum, so you can eat in an air condition seating area!Concerts? Two concerts. The paid one vs the free ones. The paid ones reserved seats vs general admission) happens at 830pm, namely a past headliner. This years headliner were Billy Idol, Smokey Robinson, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, TLC (although, Lisa Lopez passed away, so its only TC), etc. The free ones are basically bands playing radio hits. Not bad actually. Either case, you can find a spot and guarantee you can enjoy the music still. One thing I did notice for 2019 is the PNE has upgraded its fairgrounds. How? New blacktop among some of the rides, newer looking amusement games. PNE is amazing at night with the games and rides shining through. Before I go, and I always wanted to work at the PNE so I can say, win a house, win a car, get your tickets here!

Quite disappointed by number of rides not operating. Number one they have to be safe, and I really support them closing rides if they are not safe, but proper maintenance should be done before PNE opens, especially. It is still a fun place to spend a day with family, but if you close few of the most popular rides at the busiest time, while having so many game booths open, it feels like a money grab. Wish there is alternative place close by, to put pressure on Playland.

Such a dissapointment! Another COVID outbreak in the making. No social distancing (yes limited people went on the rides but around the playground & in lineups social distancing was not enforced), people were not wearing masks (expect for on the rides), rides were not being sanitized after each round, people did not use the sanitizing stations, and more than limited amount of tickets (way too many people). Playland failed to meet my expectations and I honestly regret going. Regulations from workers was very poor - many of them played no role in keeping safety. If Playland was strict with their rules, then people would have listened. But sadly alot of people didnt care.
