I went for “slayland”. There was one haunted house. No people in costumes walking around. On that thursday they closed at 11 but stopped letting people wait in lines at 10. Most of the rides were closed. Most of the games were closed. There was no alcohol. Overall I would not go again during covid. It’s not worth it, it’s sad.

Its fun, especially with friends. The food is great and tickets are much cheaper compared to the ones here in Ontario. However, its not the best Ive been to. They have 2 roller coasters. Although the other rides are fun, there should be more roller coasters. They dont have any hyper coasters (extreme drops) and I feel as though if there was one, more people would come. I also love more extreme roller coasters.I came to Vancouver as a vacation. I would choose Canadas wonderland over Playland, but theyre both fun.

I come by every year and always have the same experience: fun! There are a many rides and the restaurant-Triple Os- is very delicious. The place isnt the cleanest but the cleanest amongst the other amusement parks Ive been to. Though my only complaint is the long line-ups. Some big rides can have line-ups over an hour long! Staff are nice. They do their job well. Overall a great amusement park.

This amusement park is a no brained for families to visit throughout the summer and autumn. While not the biggest amusement park in the, Playland provides a large variety of rides to keep most easily entertained throughout the day.My personal recommendation would be to attend Fright Nights in the fall season. With the addition of close to a dozen haunted houses, youre never having to wait a long time to get on any ride. The food options are decent; theres even a mini Triple Os diner at the entrance of the park, which provides a nice little spot to take a bit of a break.

Security isnt the best here because there were numerous times my friends got their things taken when they put it in the little cupboard areas. Generally be careful with your valuables. The rides are exhilarating and varied. Coming here on an overcast morning is the best because there would be few people around and theres no risk of heat stroke (which is common).

A theme: Hooray! I’m going to the park today. To enjoy the fun, phylactery in hand, nothing in my way except the sun.Donuts to be destroyed, balloons to be popped, my wallet to be dropped. Some heights, some twirls, some spills, pink and blue cotton candy to settle little tummy ills.Speed on the coaster in matching the waiting time leaves life in beautiful contrast.Day is done, I can have no more fun, weary through, the theme has changed to boohoo.

This is a beloved Vancouver attraction, I think mostly because of memories of teenage first dates and the sugar coma induced by the mini donuts. Its pretty expensive to get in and once you do there are so many extras all of which are a complete con. You expect to get ripped off at a travelling fair ground but this place, because its permanent, seems like it should be more straight up. Still you get amazing views of the city from the ferris wheel and the wooden roller coaster is a classic.

Playland and the PNE were honestly a lot of fun this year. Cleaner than ever before, and just as much fun as we remember back when we were kids. My daughter and I went with one of her friends and spent all day long (over 11 hours!) without getting bored, tired or overwhelmed by crowds. Water refills are available everywhere and there is good food mixed in with all the carnival stuff. A great day that well definitely repeat.

Greedy management. absolutely crazy lines. Could visit just about three attractions in four hours. And the duration of the attractions is obviously cut to speed up the lines. If you have that big lines, reconsider the maximum amount of people in a park. If you have too much people willing to attend, cut the bloody marketing budgets.Lame management. Its my first and last time in this particular theme park.

The park is an average size with many exciting rides. The lines are usually quite long and exhausting since you have to bake in the sun while you wait. A lot of rides seem outdated and slightly boring, but as far as I know, the park will be renovated in the next several years, so it should improve a lot.

Its a must visit for tourist. As for locals, its a annually visit if you have kids. There are more rides when PNE is opened but alone it has some fun rides. Most modern roller coasters are elaborate and thrilling, but they dont really make you fear for your life. For that you need a coaster thats old, slightly ramshackle, and probably built before the health and safety codes we know and love today became so darn stringent. The wooden roller coaster at the pne is 100 years old, made of what I can only assume is 100 year old wood, and it is near impossible to throw your hands up in the air when they are vice gripped around the single slack lap bar that is more of an aesthetic than functional safety device. Good times abound at the playland!

Fright Night ... you got to be kidding me. I would give this zero stars if I could. A 40 minute wait to get in...40 bucks per person...then one hour and thirty minute wait to walk through a tent covered in garbage bags with stuffed snakes and weird, broken, mechanical spiders...yes, that bad. Our group was so angry. We wandered over to a ride...waited another 1 hour and 10 minutes. That. Was. It. They were closing. PNE should be ashamed of themselves. Do not bother, not even with children. Go to a park, or a movie. This place should be shut down for fraud.

Fright night here is a joke! Only way to get in any rides is if you pay for the $100 ride advance ticket and that slows down the rest of the lines for the rest of the people who already have to pay $40... was there for 4hrs only got to ride on three rides and couldnt get into any haunted houses. Lines were 2hr plus wait time. Super disappointing.disgusting really how they have this worked out. Classic wooden coaster is a must. Large children ride area. Smaller park probably about the size of 3 midways that you would find on a weekend in your local malls parking lot. If you are going during the PNE I would rate Playland 2/5 as the whole ticket system is terrible and the requirement of hand stamps is a disaster.

My niece wasnt acting any different than any other 5 year old and the worker made her cry. My boyfriend took her to another ride and my other niece and I came a couple minutes later. He told me the worker on that ride was swearing and slamming the gate when people were getting off. A lot of the staff seem to not have tolerance for children and probably should if they want to work at a place like Playland. The staff that were happy to be there made up for the others. One giving the 5 year old a prize when she was upset made her day better!

Playland is a poor imitation of what people experience at theme parks and attractions anywhere else in the world. Certainly, there are some fun rides here, but that does not excuse how old, neglected, and obsolete the facility has become.Honestly, it should be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. We should be looking to examples such as the Ferrari Centre in Dubai, Sealand Orlando, and Six Flags throughout the United States. Look at the new Manta Coaster that opened this year in Sealand Orlando as an example - a massive coaster that cost $24 million USD alone!Thankfully, there is a current plan before Vancouver City Council to entirely renovate and create a themed park. Lets hope the typical no response that Vancouver has become known for, doesnt occur. But more importantly, lets hope Vancouver and its residents stop with its small-town thinking; realize that there is an opportunity to make Playland a destination theme park; recognize that a proper theme park will bring tourists to the city and hence money for our social programs.Otherwise, Playland will continue to be the poor, neglected, cousin that most people would rather forget than acknowledge. But not to be completely critical, the mini-donuts and the food selection (during the fair portion of the year) have been quite delectable.
