Very kind hosts. The farm has great views, and abundant coffee plants, as well as many fruits. The coffee prepared for us was very good and we purchased pounds of such to bring home.

Poorly mark signs could not find the place. Puerto Rico in general is a wonderful island with warm loving people. However very frustrating when this business and others seem to show a complete lack of any attention to detail.

Lotty and her family are one of a kind, as well as their coffee! They offer a farm tour, which allows you to enjoy the wonderful scenery and learn about coffee production, its history and importance in the island, and their family story. I have visited a number of times, and just can’t get enough of the beauty of this place and its people! Also, their coffee is absolutely fantastic!

This place is must visit in PR. If you are coffee lover it will conquer your heart. Owners are very warm and friendly. Coffee is delicious and you should take some home. They sell it by pounds there and always fresh. We were lucky to get our portion right after roasting process.

One of our favorite experiences in Puerto Rico. They’re incredibly real and hospitable. Wonderful stories. Their processes are 100% ecological, and because they don’t sell their coffee in stores, this is a truly special artisanal experience.

We called 2 days prior and were told they were open and we could come for a tour. We showed up at 10:45 and waited outside the gate. We called at 11:10am and left a voicemail. At 11:15am someone walked out of the gate and called to let them know we were outside waiting. We were told someone was on their way. We called ourselves again and reached the voicemail. At 11:30am we decided to leave. Very disappointed. We drove 2 hours to get there. We waited after contact was made and were still not able to get communication with anyone. I will not recommend this place.

My wife called a couple of days in advance to let them know we would be coming and the owner told my wife that they would be open on the day (Wednesday) that we were coming. We called again before we took the over two hours to get there and nobody picked up (which was fine since they were still closed and did not open until 11 am, left message with our number). Drove through narrow and horrible conditioned roads to get there, even sliding off the side of the road slightly due to us and another car trying to occupy the one car width road, get there 15 minutes before they opened and called again, but no answer (left message again with our number). As we sat outside the closed gate, a neighbor walked through a path around the gate to enter the property. Shortly after when the farm was supposed to be open, she came back out through the same gate. I asked if the farm was opened because we left a message and have not received a call back. She said she would call the same number we called, except they answered the phone her. She told them we were outside the front gate. She then told us that they were on their way to open the gate then she left. 15 minutes later, nobody came to the gate yet so we called and left a message again. Another 15 minutes later we repeated the process and no answer again. I was there for over 45 minutes and not even the decency to call us back or open the farm KNOWING that we were outside the closed gate. Dont waste your time taking the long and dangerous drive out there even if they post or tell you that they will be open, because they may not open it for you anyway.

Went on a tour at Cafe Gran Batey and can tell you We had a really memorable experience. From Daniel we learned the art of coffee from the plant to bean to the cup. From Galilea we learned that 6 year old girls can also be brave (we watched a video of her from that morning of her holding a snake!)Lotty is the best, she made us coffee and we all sat around the table to talk just like family. We could not leave without taking some of that coffee with us. Loved it.

Very disappointing to arrive to the farm to find it closed and the the hours of operation not updated especially when we traveled for 1 hour to visit. I had to call at least 25 times before someone even answered the phone. Won’t try to visit again and will not recommend.
