Amazing Views! A must see if visiting Puerto Rico
Cueva Ventana is a suitable place to visit as a family, if there are no children under 9 years old. At the entrance, you must pay a ticket of $ 11.45, if you are a resident of Puerto Rico or $ 21.00 if it is not. It has parking facilities and every 45 minutes there is a route of 25 people per guide. It lasts approximately one hour round trip. It is advisable to wear comfortable pants and shoes. Beautiful and impressive place.
We stopped by here to do the tour for the Cueva Ventana. We were especially lucky to have Ernesto, the parks wildlife biologist guide us that day. He is so passionate about his job, and the park, and the animals and that in turn inspired a lot of us in that tour group. He had such an immense amount of knowledge for us, and could answer any question we could throw at him, and he could get us all hyped up for what turned out to be a two hour hike. (Wear comfortable shoes) I give five stars for Ernesto alone. So soon after hurricane Maria, and the forest is still recovering, but it is making a comeback. Its very beautiful and I can only imagine what it will look like once its at its full majesty again. All of the animals were deeply affected, but none so much as the fruit bat. (Where there were once thousands, only a couple remain). I deeply suggest helping in any way that you can. Ask the park rangers how you can do so, or even just tip the guide some extra money because he will use that to help feed the animals and build them shelters.Seriously, save the bats.PS: obviously, the bats are very sensitive to light. I recommend bringing a red-light which is the only safe light in which to view them.
Lovely forest, off the beaten path!
It is a wonderful place to visit. Be prepared to be part of history, nature and physical challenge. Was raised in this town, and never figure out the wonderful things that are around us. I am proud of having this wonder of nature.
Gorgeous views, friendly staff. It can be very strenuous waking up but beautiful window at the top.
Absolutely amazing place!!
I have not been to Cueva de Ventana for 30 years. We were kids and of course this was free then. But Im sure it still as beautiful as ever. Looking out into the panorama from the Ventana of this cave.
Great place to visit, nice trip full of information great and funny guide..
Very good place to go and learn about PR natural forest just be prepared to walk and hiking trails etc where long pants and hiking shoes and some bugs repellent only 4 stars because the close everything after 4:30 pm although they still have excursions and if you buy any gift from them they do not have bags or anything to put them. In general have fun and be prepared to walk and do some extreme cardio
A must place to go if you want to have a complete experience in the forest! This place is a heritage of our ancestors, a sanctuary that must be preserved, with ancient drawings in the caves they tell us their story. A river crossing the Cueva del Agua a unique treasure built within hundreds of years with rain that penetrate te surface until a cave was form. Follow the trails and youll find some of this beautiful hidden treasures. Waters are pure and cristal. There are bathrooms and camping grounds that you must reserve before going to camp out there. Go,do it! You wont regret it!
Following Google Maps, tha steep, narrow, pot-holed road Peters out at a DANGER NO ENTRY sign. Park is no longer accessible to humans. Better for the parrots, I suppose.
It was a beautiful place to take a casual hike, see nature, and learn a few things. I wore shorts, sneakers, a tshirt and was just fine. The trip from San Juan was a bit far (1 hour), so bring some music for the bus ride.
PUERTO RICAN CAVE
Closed after the hurricane. No more trails, no park rangers, no ranger station, road to park ends in forest. Great drive, tho. Single lane, winding, lots of chickens.
Beautiful place and the view expectacular.
This was the most beautiful experience ever i will return again
Great way to spend an hour with the family or group of friends! Staff are awesome!
Easy hike, the whole tour is about 2 hours, maybe less. The view is amazing, i knew what to expect, but you guys, the aesthetics were crazy. They offer a variety of juices at the end aswell, that tasted really good too!
Beautiful rain forest.
Great hike and very rewarding when you make it to Cueva Ventana. A rare opportunity in life for most.
This is the most beautiful place I ever seen
Fantastic. Great views and nature
A nice adventure from one of the islands for my carnival cruise vacation.
Very interesting to see a young, second-growth jungle (regrowing after being clear cut in the 1930s and re-planted after 1945). Some trails were still closed, but observation platforms were open along with about 6 miles of trail as of Aug 2018.
A nook with a short underground cave! absolutely beautiful
Very nice place and the views are awesome!!!
Is a wow expierence! Love it!!
Great trails. One of the few places to see the Puerto Rican Parrot. The camping area is well kept. Many trails to explore and enjoy nature. Birdwatching is great here with many Warbler passing here in migration.
Beautiful place. Could use more hiking tours and rare trees should be labeled with their scientific name. That would make this wilderness enthusiast and other curious minds very happy.
If you want to get away this is the perfect place. Its quite peaceful and the temp is perfect. I come quite a few times every year. Theres a pretty big bat cave, just have to look for it its up high and be careful
1 hour tour. Its good enough with information. Little exhausting.
Fabulous, friendly tour guides that were extremely informed.
Beautiful place for visitors from Europe especially.

NO WORDS TOO EXPLAIN.

One of my best experience in cave.

Beautiful! Get the permit from DRNA and camp here. Theres amazing fireflies at night and the Coquis are everywhere, you can hear and see them. Hike to the Cave (cueva del agua.... its totally worth it! Usually theres no one around. You can climb up into the waterfall inside the cave (barefoot or bring water shoes) and find another exit there! Totally amazing!

Beautiful park
Pretty nice and quiet place
