Historic; gorgeous. I had the opportunity to perform on this stage when I was a company member in the Mohawk Valley Ballet. Going inside the Stanley Theater feels like walking into another, very decadent time period.

Beautiful theatre..I was there to see the awesome band .Moe. I sat Row A in the loge and what a great view. The sounds superb as well. The staff was top notch. They accommodated me with a second set of tickets after I lost my first set. My wife and I had a great time.

Great concert tonight with the Oak Ridge Boys. Im very distraught that staff members were going to great lengths to ask people to stop taking videos when most were taking pictures (pictures were allowed) This included climbing over innocent people in their seats during the show. I almost asked the staff congregating in the isle to move since they were blocking my view of the show all to stop a couple of videos from being taken, maybe. I dont know if the staff are working for the musicians or the Stanley but it left a very sour taste in my mouth about attending a concert here. Remind people coming in no videos and perhaps at the beginning of the show about videos but the video police were ridiculous.

Walking in downtown Utica and saw that the Stanley Theater was open for a body building competition. They were nice enough to allow us to walk around for a few minutes to see the inside. Beautiful restored theater from the 1930, would be awesome to see an event here.

Beautiful venue but was very disappointed with the staff for the Oak Ridge Boys concert. Instead of making an announcement in the beginning advising of no video recording, they would climb over people and shine flashlights in peoples faces to let them know they cant take videos. It was embarrassing for the people taking them and very unprofessional and tacky of the staff members. It distracted me from the concert for most of the night and it felt like we were being watched like prisoners. Even one of the singers at the end of the show realized what was happening and tapped the guy on the shoulder and told him to go away. Makes me think twice about going back for a concert.

What an awesome performance of the Nutcracker we saw last night. Regretfully, we missed the second half of the show after fire alarms made evacuating necessary. Kudos to the staff and volunteers for maintaining order in what could have been a panicky situation. So thank full that it wasnt a serious situation and the fire department deemed the building safe.

Absolutely stunning architecture. My daughters favorite stage. Only downfall was that you couldnt bring in food. They provided a lunch line at a reasonable cost. Which was nice, there just werent enough heathy options from which to pick. My daughter has to eat light and doesnt necessarily have time to leave the venue. So running out to grab her something for in between numbers was out of the question.

I really enjoy coming to this theater, so far I have been able to come for the past 2 years and the building is absolutely beautiful! There is a public lot adjacent to the building but make sure you arrive early because the lot can fill and you will need to find street parking. We have only attended dance competitions here put on by groove but they were really cool and the theater offers plenty of seating. I recommend checking this place out even if to just admire the architecture.

I attended the Styx concert on November 10th at the beautiful Stanley Theatre. I traveled 5 hours to see them perform and the show was amazing as always. Styx is a legendary rock band and this was my 10th time seeing them in concert. I do have to say that I was very displeased with my seating as well as the lack of security at this concert. Our seats were orchestra level seats with seating to the right of the stage. Yes we saw the seating chart before purchasing and yes we chose best available seats. Who knew that the sound system would be set up obstructing our view. We had three seats for $84 dollars each and we saw only half the stage. Each time Tommy Shaw walked up the stairs to sing we lost vision of him. Every time Tommy took a step to the right away from his floor mic we lost vision of him. I picked these seats to the right because of Tommys position on stage. Maybe the fact that these seats were an obstructed view should have been disclosed before allowing me to buy what was deemed best available. Whomever hired security for this concert whether it was the Stanley or the sponsors of the concert should maybe rethink how much security is actually needed. People on the balcony level were pouring beer onto people in the center orchestra level. You should not have to get up in the middle of a concert to find security to let them know what is happening in the crowd. Where was security when people were randomly leaving their seats to go watch from the isle again obstructing what little view we did have. Three quarters into the show is when security showed up to crowd control. I expected more from this venue as I have seen numerous concerts at the Stanley throughout the years. Styx is a rocking band and people are going to rock out with them so maybe next time you should be prepared for excited fans and better ticket disclosures!!!

This theater is beautiful and historic. I highly recommend getting seats in the lodge when you can, its worth the price. The only thing I dont like is parking. The parking lot on the side of the building is for the restaurants as well as the theater. If you cant get in there you have to park in the street or in a lot streets away.

The Stanley Theater is a wonderful place to add see concerts. The seating is amazing and the interior designs are relics that are no longer existing in this world. The iconic design of the two layer system for seeding is unbelievably amazing when youre on the second floor. The chandeliers are exquisitely placed. I saw Avatar, in this moment, and Of Mice and Men. The concert was amazing and the show they put on was the best. The Beverages and snacks provided are slightly expensive but worth it. The staff and see guys were extremely friendly and helpful, I would recommend everyone to at least see one concert or play in this theater. I will definitely be going again when another concert pops up.

The city spent so much taxpayer money on a building that still looks like your grandmothers attic had a bad flea market that threw up! A long standing icon of fine architecture and interior design, the Stanley Theatre is also well known for its superior acoustics and has showcased innumerable performances throughout its history. I have personally experienced many plays at this greatest of Uticas treasures since my childhood, as well as dozens of concerts and other shows during my own adulthood. Renovation efforts throughout recent years have restored much of this gems original glory, and the reputation of excellence should ensure a continuing legacy of performing arts at this wonder of the Mohawk Valley. The current management and staff only enhance every other aspect of this classic venue that everyone should endeavor to enjoy for themselves.
