Veterans Park

Great little park but also has a long trail that connects to another park. Quiet and low key with unpaved trails. If you want a nice quiet trail this is a nice one.

Nice park..very clean friendly environment

Great trail to walk. Awesome books that we can share. Could use a small childrens playground. Saw a veteran grandpa sitting on a bench just having a conversation with his grandchild.

Great place to walk and take a breather. Quiet and relaxing. The only problem is people that fish in the area have been leaving their trash. Otherwise it is quite enjoyable for a quick walk.

A lot of different routes and my boys 9 and 12 have no problem completing them. Theres bike routes, walking and running routes, disc golf and places to just chill and have a picnic.

Its a new little park. So its untainted, clean and quiet. Not much in the way of fishing but still a nice spot to drop a line to relax.

This park is beautiful with all new pavilions! Unfortunately the only way to get there now is to walk. Aviation will be open soon though!

Peaceful quiet very clean relaxing just a good place to be

Very cool, pristine park. Very quiet, and a good place to chill, be by yourself and contemplate the world’s problems, or the meaning of life. It’s also a nice memorial to our country’s veterans.There’s plenty of natural space to wander around, there’s a couple of picnic tables and benches, and it also connects to the trails that lead through the Universal City Municipal Park and even on up into Selma. It’s a good 7 miles of trails if you zig zag and take all of the side trails.But if you’re just here for the day, it’s a nice place to hang out for quiet picnic.Parking is bountiful and there’s hardly ever anyone in this park - it’s very quiet.Restrooms with running water are available here, so it’s a good stopping point if you’re hitting the U.C. trail system. It’s also right alongside the Cibolo Creek - it’s usually dry, but sometimes there’s water in it and you can hang out with the ducks - yay ducks!Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the best part about this park. There’s no playground, so there’s no screaming kids!

It’s a small clean park BUT it is a trailhead to Cibolo Creek Trail which is awesome. You can walk almost 4 miles on the creek trail. Further if you cross the street at the end and do the loop at Red Horse Park. There is frisbee golf and dirt bike trails on the creek trail as well.

This great little park has good sidewalk or longer paths for a hike. The newly built covered pavilions are a great add!

Nice lil niche. Simple paved trail and some people fish at the creek. Theres also a community library box.

Veterans Park is my destination when hiking from Red Horse Park. It is a well maintained park with beautiful trees, paved walkways and even water fountains. Once I kake the loop on the walkways I get back on the trail and return to Red Horse. Good exercise for me and I get to watch the T38 jets coming in to Randolph field.

Its getting better, they are making upgrades to the park, they have restrooms now and a paved walking trail and are building covered picnic areas, looking better than it ever has.

Great run/walk/hike/bike trails!

Took my dog for a walk and enjoyed reading the bricks, under flag. Well maintained and know still working on tables, etc.

Awesome great disc golf course. And awesome bike trail.

Nice little park with access to Cibilo creek. Took my son to fish and there were so many turtles in the water we really enjoyed it! Sadly, there was also trash, and drug paraphernalia left at the edge of the creek too.

Clean restrooms. Paved walking path near creek. Nice place for a quick break.

I love this park. It has a nice trail thats good for walking, jogging and biking. The trail has lots of trees and shade so its great during the summer when its hot out. There is water and bathrooms at the park itself. Once on the trail there arent any facilities or water. The trail is about 2.5 miles to the end and back.

Love how quiet and nice it is. No tall grass and weeds everywhere. Ive been taking my cat (yes cat) there every time Im off.

Nice place, not many people. Short walking track but you can hit the longer trailhead (if its not right after rain). One poke stop

Its a fairly clean park, where people like to go to enjoy walk-in their dog, and getting ready their exercise! Plus the CIBilo Creek runs through it! Guys like to try their luck, to see if they catch the big one, lol!

Its got great trails that are marked pretty well. There is a body of water and most of the trail is shady. My dogs loved it. I would love to see a water fountain for the dogs to drink from!!

Hi. When I first saw this, I thought, oh no, not another slap in the face for us vets! But I was wrong... That park is beautiful! Its peaceful. There are several tables and seats. Im not sure I have to see it again, but I think u can bbq there too. Its not very large, but its big enuff for us vets, our families, friends and folks that support us. And the restroom facilities are nice, very clean, and maintained. Thanks. Happy 4th of July!!!

Lovely walking trails, Super clean, quiet

Barely a park other than in name only. No amenities other than bathroom, water fountain, some concrete walking trails and a few make shift trash barrels. No playgrounds, no sports facilities, no interactive activities, no picnic tables or BBQs. It is well maintained though but there is not much to care for other than the grass. Enjoy.

Not really kept up park . Nothing really special about it.

The restrooms have never been open, not ideal for longer periods of time especially with two kids and an elderly disabled man. There are no restrooms available at the Sonic, laundry mat or any gas stations unless you are a customer

Always a good place to go and gather your thoughts...never crowded.

Nice you can walk the whole creek now on a walking trail and not have to worry about crazy teenagers shooting you with bee bee guns like when I was a kid in the late 80s.

Great place for a short stroll with clean bathrooms! Good for long strolls, too, if youre okay having to make laps.

Small park, not a lot of people there. You can hear the road constantly, and it seems like the fishermen are leaving a good amount of trash out there.

When will the water be back on and restrooms working? It has been weeks and was a real problem on 4th of July.

Lots of cops ..... Cops that are looking to give tiickets or arrest anyone possible. If your a cop it would ve a good chill spot.

Has a nice trail and its close to our job/work.

This used to be scrub brush and wooded area prone to flooding. It is now a nice walking trail back to a caved area I used to roam as a kid.

Great nature walking trails

Not a lot to it, but the grounds are very nice, there is plenty of parking, and they have bathrooms and water. Theres also an entrance on the back of the park to the Cibolo Creek Trail system, which is really nice for running or walking.

The park is a good start. Central in the park are memorial bricks.
