Really enjoyed the experience at this historic theater. Small with cafe dinner seating, dinner was included with the one woman play Mae about a grandmothers history and life in and around New Orleans. Dinner catered by Herberts was delicious. Looking forward to going back for The Drunkard performance some Saturday night. To note, the dinner isnt always included, and the chairs can get a bit exhausting for a back after a while.
Very nice little theater. Their childrens plays give young talent a chance to build their skills. Come see a show and enjoy the laughs.
This is a great place to go for a good night on the town, particularly if you are looking for a great play in an casual atmosphere. The play, The Drunkard, is the longest running play in the US. It has been preformed weekly on Saturday nights since the 1950s. Located on Riverside in the downtown Tulsa area, the theater itself was built in 1929 as a joint venture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Would suggest you eat prior to going to the theater as they only serve snacks and drinks. This is a good place to go for an overall, great experience.
Most fun weve had in a long time. Would recommend to any age group
My wife and I went to see the Drunkard and the Olio on our anniversary. The performance was entertaining and the crowd participation was fun. The theater has seen better days but the drinks are snacks are very reasonably priced. We unfortunately were seated at the back table next to the theater entrance which was very distracting but not the end of the world. If you havent seen this Tulsa tradition I would definitely recommend.
I grew up going to the Spotlight theatre and seeing plays as a child, so this place is very special to me. The weekly show, The Drunkard and the Olio is hilarious in a very cheesy kind of way (which I love). The building itself is extremely historic and cool and has all sorts of weirdness about it. I recently got married here as well, although, if you want to plan a wedding here, make sure you are in COMPLETE control. they are not quite used to having such kinds of events there and had I knew that more, I would have been a little more prepared. but overall, it was an amazing experience, at a beautiful and odd place. Ill never forget that night
Had a wonderful time watching the Drunkard, great family fun... plus everyone was so amazing. We will definitely be going back.
Great evening of entertainment. I highly recommend it.
Such a fun show! The performers are great and the atmosphere of this show provide such a great time. I highly recommend everyone see it at least once.
A wonderful step back in time. The building is a piece of Tulsa history, a lot of history has taken place in the building, the staff is wonderful and entertaining, definitely a great time! A must-see!
Went to watch the drunkard and the olio, absolutely loved it. They serve snacks for $1 and beer for $5. They also have bottomless coffee for $5 but youre really paying for the souvenir mug. Its a great atmosphere and the cast really gets you involved.
The Drunkard is some of the best melodrama Ive seen. Go in with an open mind and play along with them. Youll enjoy the longest running play in the US for years to come!
We went to see the Drunkard Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The sing alongs with all the audience participation was so much fun.The show was fantastic and it never gets old. I have seen the show at least ten times but it is always fun to see what will happen with the crowds. Good old fashion fun!!
Great night of entertainment. Bring the whole family.
This place is one for record books. it was the first time for Mays family and we all enjoyed every minute of the show. please make it out and support the arts it is a nonprofit. Loved it thank you JERA.
Family fun, unique experience. Interactive show, it is melodrama and its the longest running melodrama in The United States. The building is part of historical downtown Tulsa....go check out the show, see and experience something new. And learn about the Spotlight Theatre
We took our 2 and 4 yr old girls to see The Little Princess. It was our first time at the theater and didnt know what to expect. We fell in love with the shabby eclectic deco feel and strength in the community and passion driven performances. The girls loved it and we would go back again. It was a little hot inside but not too big a deal. was a little pricey, but we felt it went towards supporting the community.
Its a legendary place, I had a wonderful time as always
I went there to see The The Drunkard & the Olio and it was fantastic! This place is brilliant.
A rare Jewel in Tulsa Ok. So much history in one building. The Drunkard and Olio are must dos while in Tulsa.
Our family had a wonderful time watching The Boxcar Children! The actors were all very talented and funny kids. It was a fantastic production!
Was awesome. I am visiting Ok. from RI and am so far loving everything. Was a great live theater production and their was audience participation that made it even more fun and enjoyable.
Saw the Drunkard twice! Brought friends the second time! Very fun and entertaining. Its like preserved prohibition history!
Had a fun time. Lots of audience participation.
Great fun! Sing-a-long, variety acts, a fantastic melodrama. A must see for everyone living in or visiting Tulsa.
Great children’s theater
A great piece of Tulsa history! Not only with the longest running play the Drunkard, but a great childrens theatre with a place for the whole family! love it!
Not real ecstatic about this place it was actual. Bit dull but with great chance for talent and to come up
Wholesome entertainment for the whole family
I get the opportunity to clean this theatre and its a very historical theatre. I havent had any spooky or ghostly experiences.
Old building with a lot of character.
Great place for kiddos interested in theater
Best play and time Ive had in a long time. Interactive play. Had a blast.
Great place to see a play. Either childrens playes or The Drunkard. Found out they have birthdays, anniversary, reunion, and shows. Great old place built on 1928
Older crowd. Cheap bottled beer.
There for 98th birthday had a blast everyone should go see this 61 years and still great will def go AGAIN
Best experience Ive had at a Dine-in Theatre before. Quality production and talent. A must-see stop in Tulsa.
Very enjoyable
Money hungry and terribly produced. This company went straight downhill ever since the Barkers left. The childrens theater has never been the same and hasnt been able to reach out to the young community like it used to, with terrible play choices and even worse sets- no wonder no decent actors come back. The attitudes of certain producer/assistant directors pushed my whole family out of acting here. I grew up at the spotlight. Been there since 2005, Im just sick to my stomach watching my favorite childhood memories crash and burn. That is all.
Every body needs to experience the spotlight
Funny, Friendly, Talented
Very historic venue just updated. Nice
Tiny (cozy!) theater, and so fun!
A fun evening event!
Great show. A lot of fun, will definitely visit again.
Affordable old timey fun.
Great place to take the family and / or friends for a evening of fun entertainment.
Grew up doing theatre here.
The Drunkard and the Olio was a great play and perfect place to go with a date. I highly recommend this for a Saturday night.
Amazing outdoor theater
Wonderful family entertainment!
We had a lot of fun celebrating a friends birthday
Excellent volunteer staff and great show! This place is certainly a hidden gem and deserves more support.
The best place in the world.
Good fun.
Awesome atmosphere
This Historical place is a must see. The Drunkard &Olio is the longest running play in the USA. We are looking for taxable donations to renovate our Building.
Great experience. Watched the Olio and the Drunkard. I will definitely come again.
Its old. May be a place I visit once
Anything that has to do with Michele Dill Miller or Rebecca Ungerman, people should avoid at all cost. Michele Dill Miller is currently being sued in her capacity as an employee at the University of Tulsa. Discovery in the lawsuit uncovered e-mails from her, to Susan Barrett to Vice Provost Winona Tanaka where they speak of a Plan to harm another student. Michele also made sure to tell all students that one of her former students, Michael Hunt had died from HIV... then orchestrated attacks on my husband because they cannot control what I say. Rebecca Ungerman is some what of a drifter... she has never really made it in theatre and owed my husband quite a bit of money, which she never paid him from a production he worked for her in at the Tulsa PAC. Rebecca even went to the stage and told people thank you for coming, she will be able to pay her rent this month. It was the most unprofessional thing Ive ever seen. These two are fly by night acts who just.
FUN FOR ALL AGES!
I love performing here!!
Small, personal theater. Very intimate feeling.
Tulsa treasure with a classic look. Be sure to visit and take in the performance.
