The chapel was so beautiful and I felt so at peace inside. My boyfriend said, I cant believe you didnt take pictures inside the chapel. I just couldnt because it felt so calm, warm and spiritual. I felt like it was an honor to be able to enjoy the inner peace of the chapel. When I went into Mr. DeGeazias home, it felt so inviting and warm. The whole property has been so well maintained and loved and it shows. I cant wait until the gallery re-opens. I need to see more. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property with us.

I used to bring my kids here several times a week when we lived in the neighborhood. The chapel is a magnificent place of meditation and solitude. The grounds remain accessible during the pandemic, but the gallery remains closed as of this review. We look forward to the reopening.

Amazing story of how it became. The man had the Indians help him build the place..He lived there and is buried there. There is a large gallery of his paintings. Beautiful work.

The number of works of art were unbelievable. Be sure to allow enough time. You can look in some areas free of charge, and another areas, you pay. There is also an area where an artist has his or her work for sale. Great way to support artists.

Beautiful art in the many mediums of Arizona native DeGrazia. Be sure to see the film that explains his concept and design of the studio. Many of the special touches and meaningful symbolism you probably did not notice, but DeGrazia thought of everything.

What a tribute to a truly talented and passionate human! This gallery and previous home to DeGrazia was stunning in its simplicity and depth. Each room lovingly created and designed by an artist. I really enjoyed the flow of the self-guided tour. The art immediately takes me back to my childhood and my grandmothers love for his paintings. The garden area was also a favorite for our little group as well. The garden is home to a fountain with another beautiful piece of sculpture art created by DeGrazia as well. What a talent, what an experience. I highly recommend this gem!

As an artist I was truly moved by this memorial art gallery. It was very cleverly designed by the artist himself to put the lay person in the artist moccasins. To teach perspective, line, form. It was colorful, tactile, and beautiful. The admission was $8 for adults and worth every penny, not to be missed. If your going to it from the South one cant see the signage, its only a block or two above Sunrise on Swan. M

My first time visiting this gallery. I was really impressed with it. Id heard of the artist but wasnt familiar with his art. Art was so different from what Im used to seeing. Yet it pulled you in, you could relate to what he was thinking. After we watched the movie and saw how he painted, it made you really appreciate his work. Its a must see when you visit Tuscon, Az.

I really enjoyed this gallery and it was only $8 to get in. According to the sites description, its on ten acres. I read that as you can roam those ten acres but thats not the case. However, they do have a nice area to walk around and take in the views of the mountain.Unfortunately when I was there the chapel (I think thats what it is) was under construction so I wasnt able to go inside. It looks like it has been that way for a while. It was a little disappointing but you can still roam the other buildings. There is an artist selling her personal pieces in what used to be his workshop and you can check out his house.

Love his artwork & his place here is awesome! Didnt make it to the gallery, they close at 4 but got to stroll around the grounds where the famous artist did his work. Another amazing place itself to hike to if u ever get the chance.

My only experience with this artist are his very ubiquitous prints, which I dont find that interesting. I was almost not going to pay the $8 entrance fee. I was sure glad I did. I came away appreciating the greater depth of this artist. Many of the rooms have several of his wonderful series displayed. All are well worth viewing. Also, do not miss the chapel, his residence, and a number of other buildings that are located on the property. The chapel has been partly destroyed due to a fire, but parts of several of his amazing murals still survive. For some reason the staff behind the counter do not mention these buildings.

The gallery offers a wide selection of beautiful and challenging art; paintings, pottery and jewelry. The gift shop offers a wide selection of items. There is a video documentary on deGrazias life and art. The turnoff to the gallery is poorly marked as the signage is only visible heading south, away from the mountains. I highly recommend the gallery for anyone visiting Tucson.

I visited the Gallery in the Sun on Ted DeGrazias birthday which meant free admission. It also meant no available parking in the parking lot and I had to park down the street. It also meant that a bunch of little kids and people who couldnt care less about the artwork were there. However, I saw enough to be impressed and will definitely go back when it is quieter and less hectic. There also seemed to be someone working there who was well versed on DeGrazia stories and it would be neat to return and hear those along with watching the video. The grounds were beautiful and there was something to look at everywhere you turn. Truly a Tucson gem and not what I had expected.
