The Oliver House

Hostess was not friendly at all! Sat at the table for a while why everyone who worked there actively ignored us. When our waiter finally came over he apologized for not seeing us and he was incredible after that. Food was really good and the atmosphere was very cool.

Very delicious. looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. prices were fair for the quality of the food.

Very attentive service, great drinks across the board, and i would literally try anything on the menu. Get their special chocolate dessert-it is the best!

Got there near six, it wasnt packed at all. It has a good interior.

Coffee was good, omelet with my choice of additives was very good. My partner in crime has the breakfast burrito, both are do overs.

I love going here. The service is always great. The food is so amazing, that I keep eating it before snapping a picture of it. Maybe next time Ill be able to add a photo.

The food I had was good. No frills. Atmosphere was pretty awesome. Kevin was my bartender/server. He was very friendly and answered a lot of questions I had about Toledo. He gets 5 stars! Great service. Decent Food.

Coffee cake, pecan bourbon pie, biscuits and gravy and corn beef and hash. Food is always taste you when I come here.

Food and service in the tavern is always good. Im not a beer drinker but am told by my friends who are their craft beer is great and they make a lot of in house. Their vodka they make at their distillery is really good and they have a good martini and other drink menu if you dont like beer.

Best place in Toledo to get a Croque Madam!Atmosphere is wonderful. It is rather a maze to get around the building but that speaks more to the character of the old hotel turned factory turn offices turned abandoned turned great restaurant and brew pub and the Toledo Strong mentality of the place than anything else.

Fantastic corned beef dip and pita bread appetizer! Salmon BLT was great. We ate in the upstairs pub. Beautiful building.

Sat at the bar. Good selection of beers but I stuck with Blitzen. Had the ” Oliver house” pizza and my wife had the fish sandwich. Ordered beers to go.Our bartender was amazing. 5/5 will go again.

Tried three PBBJ burger... was very good and also enjoyed the sampler of beers. Shirley was a sweetheart, I didnt care for a beer and she changed it out no problem.

Stopped in on the 26th of December about 730p pretty busy for a Thursday the manager got us right in we had a party of six. The food was very good and even though they were under staffed that night the service was excellent. Our waitress was Ann Marie very pleasant and attentive. Need to brew more blitzen

Met friends for a delightful gathering tonight at Oliver House. The creative menu, house brewed beers, and friendly staff combined with our excellent server, Jeff, afforded us a wonderful night out! The shaved prime rib sandwich was the best my husband has ever eaten. My PB & J bacon burger was delectable! The Mudhen dessert was fabulous! Everyone was pleased and satisfied.

The fish sandwich was a joke. 2 small pieces on a bun the size of Texas. The fish itself was delicious but needed 4 or 5 pieces to fill the bun.

The website says casual dressing however everyone was in Business attire/ well dress that was kinda off putting. the food is amazing dont get me wrong. I just wish the service was alot better. I order a larger then normal size burger. Needed a knife to cut it. Took 15 or mins before my Server came back so I could ask for a knife. Never ask me if I wanted a refill until someone else ask me for one. Im just disappointed in the service really, food and beer was amazing

I was recently in there for a quick brunch stop and my server Cynthia was wonderful. I had let her know I did not have much time and she put my order in quick and the food was amazing. She also kept checking on me to make sure I did not need anything. Will definitely keep visiting because of the great hospitality I receive when I visit. Came in after working third shift was surprised they The Cafe was open so early. Had an excellent breakfast. Ham and cheese omelette with hash browns. My server Cynthia held a great conversation and told a wonderful history of the place. Great food

Offbeat, out-of-the-way bistro near downtown Toledo. Basement of a historic restaurant. Good sandwiches and soups. Brews own beer, if youre into that sort of thing.

Service is good. Prices are fair. Food is average. Acoustics are bad.

Cannot praise this place ENOUGH! Oliver House generously and eagerly helped make our Thanksgiving party a success!!! I work for a non-profit agency which provides case management and rehabilitation services to women who are recovering from sex trafficking. For many of our clients, a family Thanksgiving is not available whether it be due to location/lack of transportation or broken relations. Oliver House helped these women have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving, thanks to the amazing meal they provided for us .Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We are at the Cafe in the Oliver House. I had the Broccoli, bacon Quiche and the Parisan salad. It was very good. Iced tea was refreshing and freshly brewed. My niece had a burger and fries and it looked delicious and she really enjoyed it!

High quality food and handcrafted brews. You really cant beat the view- its especially great during summer and fireworks displays downtown. What a Toledo gem.

Paul is definitely one of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered while dining out. Definitely ask for him. Food was great. The mud pie dessert is exceptional as well. Fun place.

I had a wonderful chicken sandwich that was less than I thought it was going to be! Perfect place for lunch or a relaxing dinner.

The staff here is super accommodating. We had some restrictions and special requests in our party and the staff went above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations. Excellent service!

You cant beat a cold craft beer, homemade Quiche and Lemon Cake for lunch. Service very good and excellent food.

Couldnt stop going here if I tried. This place is so good I find myself wanting to go here very often, and do go maybe more often than my wallet wants. 5/5, absolutely recommend.

If you are a fan of craft beer, this is a good place for you. I am not, so I didnt get much out of that. We were there for a Christmas party for my company, so had I actually paid for my meal out of my pockets would have only given one star. I got the NY strip steak, it had no flavor, it was cooked too hot and was dry a novice could make a better steak with a round steak pan frying it at home. The mashed potatoes were simply that no seasoning and about as bland as a potato could get. The two best items of the night were the salad which was the portion size for a child, and the dessert. I had the cheese cake for the dessert, my wife got the chocolate cake, the cake was very rich but good and the cheese cake was very nice aside from it maybe being a touch dry and crumbling.

We had 40 people there last night, all meals came out hot and very tasty. Everyone was happy. Thanks for the good service. IYFR Rotary District 6600.

Good food but high-ish prices

Interesting building and atmosphere. They had 10 of their own beers on tap when I was there and I didnt care for any of them, which is a first for me and Ive been to many breweries. The food was okay not really worth the price and hype. Several in our party got ribs only to find out that they boil them! The ribs were so nasty that nobody finished them. We had a party of 14 and they insisted we sit at two separate tables instead of putting two tables together. Other than that the service was great. We wont be going back anytime soon.

Great atmosphere, very good beer and food. Service is very competent. Burger was a bit overdone, but not at all to the point of being dried out. The pizza looked quite good though we didnt get one at our table. Try a flight of beers.

To leave a review I suppose in all fairness you should actually get waited on. It was my best friends birthday party the hostess sat us at a table there was a approximately seven of us there we were waiting on 10 more guests and we stated that to her. In The meantime nobody came by to see if we wanted a drink order and our intentions were to buy alcohol. And we waited and we waited and by the time our other guests showed up nobody had still come to our table mind you this was probably about 40 minutes in two are sitting there total. We got up and left nobody even acknowledged us leaving. We took our business to San Marcos right up the street were immediately served and seated food was good service was good and she ended up having a nice time no thanks to Oliver house we will never bring our business there again

Best beer and food anytime!

Went here after visiting the Toledo zoo. First the specials of the day board way too confusing. My dinner was a chicken with Jack Daniels sauce over grilled onions and mashed potatoes. Jack Daniels flavor was completely missing. My wife had a Fish special which was had way too much breading. Waitress disappeared after serving us and felt like a cleaning crew moved in sweeping moving chairs very inconsiderate to us. Waitress returned with check to see wifes dinner only a couple bits were taken. She did ask if she wanted something else, but we were ready to go. Didnt offer to ask a manager to discount wifes meal or anything else. Nope WE WONT RETURN OR RECCOMEND.

Awesome historic space downtown. Brew pub located upstairs has really solid pizza. Some pretty good veggie sides on Rockwells menu makes for a sneak attack vegan meal. Sports bar in the basement lets you order off any menu in the building. Find the pool table down here in the back

Enjoyed a lovely evening with our family (6 in our group). The restaurant is in a really cool historic building; food was delicious and our waitress, Melissa, was outstanding. We will be going back soon.

The Oliver House is a lovely historic building in downtown Toledo. Housing several restaurants its whatever you need it to be. Fine dining at Rockwells, draft beer at Mutz, wood fire pizza and lunch can also be found on the premises. They have indoor and outdoor event areas.

Food was great and reasonably inexpensive. Had a beautiful soup and salad for 8 dollars. You really cant beat that. Every penny was worth it.

Best beers and reubans in toledo

An amazing place full of history. the craft beer is great. The pizza is one of a kind. This is truly a gem in Toledo.

I cannot even give one star for my review, but Google made me select one star to post! I booked a private room for my wedding reception. I couldnt be more disappointed in the experience. The event coordinator seemed to be annoyed with my questions and desire for coordination of my special day. I had my flowers and cake delivered to the restaurant the day of. I asked before making these arrangements to make sure it was okay and that someone would take care of these items for me. Also, I arranged for horderves, since I was told that our salads would take at least 45 minutes after we arrived and I knew folks would be hungry when we got there after the ceremony. We arrived a little before 6:30pm (our start time) and the room was not set up. My flowers were in a bag on the floor of the room, the cake (which was supposed to be refrigerated) was sitting out on a table, and the staff was not available in the room. Thankfully, my family stepped in and took care of things for me. I had to ask to have the horderves delivered to the room and to have to the staff start taking drink orders. We asked for a booster seat for one of the little ones three times, having to finally go search for one ourselves. One of the friendly staff from the other part of the restaurant was kind enough to find one for us. One hour later our salads were delivered. Keep in mind, this is one of the premier steak houses in the city - no one was asked how they would like their prime rib cooked. The response to our inquiry was - you can get an end piece or a middle piece. When we got our bill it was over $1,800 for 18 people (including 2 little one who had kids meals). My husband asked for a detailed bill. Upon quick review and disagreement with the bill, the staff said they found $200 that they could remove that was added to our bill incorrectly from the people who were in the room prior to us for breakfast. We had people going to our house directly after dinner so we had to leave and hesitatingly paid the bill. Upon reviewing the detail on the way home. I discovered we were charged way over what we should have paid and that there were drinks on our bill that no one ordered -- like 41 mimosas. Hmmm...16 adults drank 41 mimosas for dinner????? The staff should have looked at the bill and discovered that something was incorrect, since they were bringing the drinks to our room. Someone from the restaurant called me back and I only authorized the revised bill amount; I have yet to see the detail. When booking a private room for an event at a nice restaurant, you should be able to expect good food (at $28 a plate) and good service. I am very disappointed with my experience and will not be going back.

This is a quaint little beer pub and restaurant. The menu is that of bar food but they take it up a bit with their different types on hamburgers. The beer is a selection of local favorites. There are beers interesting enough to give you a wide range of choices.

Okay so Jennie Kay rocked my world with the Corned Beef with breakfast potatoes and 3 sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection! The cafe experience was exquisite and relaxing knowing that I will get a tour of Maumee Bay Brewery to top off my love of excellent craft beers. Kudos to Jennie Kay and the friendly service with robust coffee and a smile. Thank you as you know I will be back. If you come to downtown Toledo, you cant miss this!!

The Cafe was open. It was a very lovely place to have lunch. The cheddar broccoli soup was amazing. The Reuben sandwich and the burger was great.

Do like the female waitresses but the one older male effuses phoniness. Neal is superb and the food is great, areas of historic charm. Love going there but avoid the one waiter.

Lunch on Monday at the Café while my car was getting fixed across the street. Friendly staff, great food! Ordered Tomato soup (Which I generally dont like, but was excellent, lumpy and flavorful,) and a bacon, asparagus and Swiss cheese quiche, plus a Total Eclipse, to balance things out a bit.YUM!

We came to Toledo for a wedding... And coming from the craft brewery capital of the country, Fort Collins Colorado, we were pleasantly surprised to find the Oliver House and Maumee Brewing Company. Olivia was a super friendly waitress. Our party enjoyed burgers, Reuben, and invented the Out-of-towner beverage: eclipse stout with 1-2 inches of vanilla shake poured on top. Yum!

Never have had a bad meal or a bad beer. Always good service. Its a favorite of ours.

Every room, and there were many, was filled with brews and memorabilia about brewing. It was a kind of maze to get to the room where the meeting was being held but it was a maze of cosy and fascinating rooms.
