Free daily! Beautiful and incredible pieces. If you want to see something exquisite but only have 2 hours I highly recommend coming to the Glass Pavilion. Easy to navigate and very knowledgeable guides.
Really cool variety of glass work from many different time periods. Definitely worth checking out!
Some beautiful glass displays. Highly recommend checking it out.
Wow, the Glass Pavilion has left me breathless. I have never seen so many beautiful and timeless glass displays than what is displayed here in the Glass City.I am new to Toledo and after last weekends block party at the Toledo Museum things are beginning to fall into place in regards to me understanding the many subcultures here in the Black swamp, the Mud, Holy Toledo and Glass City. While at the museum i met some true historians that were delighted in sharing the history of such a beautiful city and state. You will do better in Toledo.
Parking is just to the East of the Pavilion & costs $8 a vehicle. Its secured parking though & its no cost to enter the Glass Pavilion. Amazing glass art from historical treasures to modern pieces. Glass blowing demonstrations are available to watch. Give yourself time to enjoy this place, many plaques to read and the demonstrations are worth watching. Families are welcome but tiny kids you might have to restrain & would probably do best in a stroller. This is an extension of the Toledo Museum of Art across the street but The Glass Pavilion could take a good chunk of time all on its own, dont rush!
We went for the glassblowing demonstration, which was perfect for children and adults alike. The presenters were thorough in showing and explaining every stage of the production of a glass pitcher. They even explained the annealer in such a way that my little knew what it was for.We stayed to look at the many glass pieces and just explore the beautiful building. Also, the cafe has great coffee if you want something to warm you up on your walk back over to the main museum building.
A great way to spend the day.
Impressive glass collection with works dating back to early Mesopotamia to modern day. You can also watch glass blowing demonstrations in the center of the museum.
I absolutely adore this museum and everything its taught me over the years. The support system this museum enjoys is astounding. Highly recommended for an afternoon or an evening, for kids classes and adults... just a gem for our community.
Incredible art and amazing staff
The Glass Pavilion in Toledo, OH is beautiful! Such an interesting building, thought it was worthwhile to see as much as the items inside. Spent a little over 2 hours. Read the info cards for the items that appealed to me, otherwise leisurely looked at the majority of pieces. Wasnt able to stay for the glass blowing demo only because it didnt fit into our schedule.
Amazing colorful collection of glass through the ages, plus an informative glass blowing demonstration.
Amazing collection of glass...I couldnt believe how well preserved some of those pieces were...ancient pieces.
Great place to learn about glass and its history and how Toledo fits in.
We stopped by the Glass Pavilion on our way to the art museum. We caught the glass blowing demonstration and really learned a lot. There was one artisan creating a piece while another wore a mic and talked us through the whole process. He told us everything from the elements of the periodic table used to make the pieces, to the tools, to the temperatures of the glass required for different parts of the process. They made a beautiful blown bowl right in front of us!The rest of the museum had cool pieces displaying different techniques. It was a really nice place to go, it was free admission, and a well air conditioned place to beat the heat!
Amazing place! The building is constructed of so much glass. The pieces on display represent such a fabulous history of glass. Wonderful reception by staff. Great glass blowing.
Highly Recommend- 2p.m. workshop MUCH MORE TONS OF HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS ENJOY YOURSELVES BRING YOUR F&Fs
Wonderful display of history of glass making as all as historical pieces and a working glass blowing forge.
Wonderful glass specific gallery!! There is such a wonderful variety of works between modern and ancient. The admission is free and the staff is lovely. Plus you can watch demonstrations and such with their hotshop! Would absolutely go again!
An amazing place to see glass art and watch demonstration
Parking $8 for nonmembers in museum lots, museum itself is free. Excellent exhibition. Greenfield Village in Dearborn also has an excellent glass display from the last couple centuries, but need to buy full admission to Greenfield Village.
This place is a nice little gem tucked in Toledo. The space is well thought out and walks you through historical art pieces to how create your own.
Super fun workshop...pick your project glass blowing. There were 8 things to choose from, paper weight, ornament, fortune cookie, apple pumpkin, mushroom, doughnut, and flower. The guys are very knowledgeable and helpful...as well as encouraging! I was a little nervous but they set me at ease! They did a nice job educating us on safety and glass in general. I will definitely be back to make more!!
This museum is AMAZING. It’s worth seeing along with the art museum across the street.
It can be easy to take a gem such as the Glass Pavilion for granted when its right in our back yard. A world class facility in the heart of the city, there is no better live music venue to be had.
Artisans blowing glass and demonstrating the process. Beautiful glass exhibit, historical and modern.
A must-see in Toledo. Stunning building and grounds. Beautiful collection. Events held there are top-notch. The walls are all transparent so it has a real ethereal vibe.
Love this place. I wish they had tours though. The artists who work there have a plethora of interesting information about the pieces on display, the history of glass blowing and glass itself. They need to have little tours to make it more interesting.I took Glassblowing a few years ago and the instructor took us around one night and told us about a lot of the pieces in the galleries, some of them were even made there! We also learned a lot about the history of glassblowing and how its traced back to Toledo. Visitors would love this kind of information!
I took my brother to a glass class. We had so much fun. The instructors were very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend taking a class. I already want to do another. Thanks
Very awesome exhibit at the Toledo Museum of Art. Im not the biggest fan of Art, but these works of glass were great and worth a visit. The staff we talked to was knowledgeable, but very weary Id break something. I was just pointing things out. Chill. seriously though, check it out.
Beautiful art and a lovely intimate venue to see local musicians.
Beautiful and the had a chess board that me an my daughter had fun playing ( my daughter is between 7 and 10)
Just wish I had more time to visit! Beautiful facility & who knew it was in Toledo!
My brother was apart of the Art Tatum play preserving his history and it was his actual birthday that day. Happy birthday little brother. I also want to say that the Art Museum has always been a fantastic place to view extraordinary collections of art. Check out this impeccable chandelier!
The building itself is an impressive work of art. Inside you will find diverse exhibits of glasswork from modern to ancient antiquity. There are also glassblowing demonstrations fir the curious and classes for the artistically inclined. Should you need a pick me up there are concessions and gifts at the front.
Neat place. Free admission, so thats nice. Lots of cool pieces to see. Have a historic timeline of glass, too.
Very interesting. A lot of glass. Enjoy
I highly recommend taking a glass blowing class here.
Only 45 minutes North of Findlay sits this amazing gem of culture and history. Free to the public. Parking a minimal cost. Easy to find and right across the street is the Toledo museum of arts, which is filled with a collection that astonishes the most cultured visitor.Dont miss out!
The gentleman i had as an instructor for glass blowing spoke slow, clear and lound enough to be heard. Very clean. Safety is their #1 priority. But you do have lots of fun in class.
A real gem of a museum. Very small but great.
Great glass and Demo was wonderful teaching style.
Took Lapino inspired glass class. Kelly and Mesha were excellent, and so encouraging! So looking forward to Tuesday when I get to pick up my finished piece!
Great experience every time! Love watching the glass blowing demonstrations!
Really cool glass pieces, from antiques to modern designs. Check the schedule for the demonstrations in the workshop since they happen at certain hours and not every day!
This is a supurb resource. The art is spectacular and the architecture is an inspirational. For an open to the public exhibition the people here were also very helpful. Its such a beautiful place as well.
It was so magical! Honestly captivating. It has a cafe, outside dining area, and its genuinely so beautiful.
Amazing glass sculptures. Awesome to be able to see glassblowing. And the building itself is cool
My spouse and I went to a glass blowing class here and had a blast! Hands on instructors with years of experience made the class a ball
Beautiful showcase for hand blown glass and excellent catering events
A very unique building, displaying beautiful glass works and a hot shop, based on times for watching the workers making glass. Id highly recommend visiting the Glass Pavillion if you have not been here yet.
This is absolutely a splendid venue. We had the opportunity to enjoy it during a company event and it surpassed my expectations. The staff is always courteous and I found the environment to be awesome. Highly recommended.
Part of the TOLEDO Museum of Art Complex. Nice collection and you can watch live glass blowing. You can also sign up to take a glass blowing class or workshop. The grounds are beautiful. Worth the trip.
DO go to one of the demonstrations!!! They give a great background of glass making and its process. Afterwards, check out all the glass displays. The demo gives one a better understanding of the process, layering and designing, otherwise it might be just a glass building with examples of pretty glass objects. It is a wonderful visit either way...but, the demo is a good place to start! Also, ITS FREE!
Very neat place with some great pieces. I really enjoyed watching them do a class on glass. I’d like to do that class in the future at some point.
This is a must see in Toledo if you like art made out of glass
Always a beautiful and interesting place to visit
Loved the glass blowing demonstrations. Gotta see it. Great!
Amazing architecture with great glass art displays and glassblowing demonstrations.
Beautiful. Attended glass blowing demonstration
This was excellent. Instructors were knowledgeable and patient. Experience was well worth it. My wife and I are considering a larger class.
Awesome little area to watch people blow glass, you have to check it out! Plus there is plenty to look at as well as snacks, drinks, info, etc.
Make a point to visit! Not only is it FREE it is a gorgeous display of actual glass pieces through history, from ancient to present day. Make sure to give yourself 30 minutes to watch the glass blowing display! It is amazing! You can purchase in the on-site gift shop pieces crafted during the demonstrations. In the gift shop, there is a wall of glass through which you can see the outdoors. We purchased glasses of wine (good use for glass!) and relaxed here, surrounded by beautiful pieces of art while taking in the beauty of the outdoors. The pavilion has pieces on display as well as an installation by my favorite glass artist, Dale Chihuly. We hope to go back one day. This glass pavilion sits directly across the street from the Toledo Museum of Art.
Wonderful collection of glass art. Glass blowing demonstration was one of the most informative and interesting I have ever attended. Great complement to the main Toledo museum
Great selection of glass history. They also have classes and workshops you can take for glass blowing which is awesome or you can watch a glass making demonstration there too. Parking kind of sucks but definitely check out next time youre going to the art museum
The glass blowing demonstrations are fantastic!
Stunningly beautiful setting for one of the most complete collections of glass, spanning centuries. Glassblowing demonstrations are also a part of this great part of the Toledo Museum of Art. Highly recommended.
Very cool place to visit an watch the glass blowing demonstration! Its very warm though and makes you want to take a nap :)
This newer part of the museum is a multipurpose facility. In addition to various exhibitions there is a well equipped glad shop and conference rooms. On weekends there is glad making demonstrations by local and visiting glad artists. They show a step by step demo on how a decorative glad is made from molten glass. They also sell those pieces.
Great place to come visit if youre going to the art museum! There are a ton of interesting and beautiful pieces here, and there are opportunities to see glass blowing and take classes! If youre interested in seeing how the Glass City got its name, you should stop by and see the building made from glass!
I attended a wedding reception here and it was a beautiful venue. There was a glass blowing demonstration while we waited for the wedding party to arrive, which was a nice entertainment option, plus snacks and an open bar. The food was also wonderful--we had fresh salad and lamb, plus a dessert bar with lots of options. The service was good, they seemed a bit short staffed and could not get around to everyone at our table with wine, etc., but other than that, it was perfect!
Fascinating museum. Demonstrations of glass-making in the Hot Shop is the big attraction. I only wish they had more on display.
I absolutely loved it. I did think the lighting could have been just a little brighter in one room to enhance the shine of the artwork.
The glass blowing demo is fantastic . Also loved the Friday night wine tasting.
Amazing what can be done with glass.
Beautiful, love the hot shop, love all the glass, love the Chihuly chandelier
Great staff and lovely paintings and just general historical vibe
Beautiful glass artwork of all different styles! There was a glass blowing demonstration which was lots of fun to watch and was also very informative!
Hot shop to watch glass blowing, fabulous glass artwork. Wine by the Glass.
Awesome! Loved it!
Absolutely beautiful venue for a wedding. So unique and offers an interesting experience, especially if you watch a glass blowing demonstration. I highly recommend visiting.
Liked the building design, reminded me of a glass jar. Wish they had more glass
Beautiful space...
Watching the glass blowing demonstration was interesting and informative
My favorite part of TMA! I especially enjoy the public glass blowing demonstrations. Each visit brings a new experience. A true Toledo treasure for the whole family.
Amazing place to see some great art. My son glass blows there and its amazing.
What a wonderful place to check out unique and different glasses made from different parts of the world and here in Toledo Ohio its also extremely fun to watch them blow glass right there in front of you. By different artists
My husband even loved it!
Fun addition to the museum located on the front side
Beautiful glass art. A demo of how glass is made and blown.
Awesome glass blowing demonstrations every day and great collection of glass art
Fantasticly beautiful! From watching glass blowers creating something gorgeous to looking way back in time at the most ellegant glass items from all around the world! The buildings outer walls are curved glass, makes for a modern facility with breathtaking glassware from long ago. They have a little snack shack that offers wine and other beverages and a variety of snacks. Just when you think it sounds to great to be true, except for parking, IT IS FREE ADMISSION!!! 7$ PARKING AND THAT GLASS MUSEUM IS ACROSS FROM THE ART MUSEUM, IMAGINE THIS...IT IS FREE ADMISSION AS WELL!
Good place to visit in Toledo. Found the story of Libby Glass very interesting. The glass demonstrations are great
Great museum. Excellent docents. Great teaching.
Great itian sub wrap. I was starving. No seats but that was my fault because we ran late missing most of the music. Standing was not my idea of fun.
Beautiful place, can also watch glassblowing demonstrations.
