I highly recommend Dead Gods and Tye Youmans, artist.I first spoke to the front desk about what I was wanting, and they suggested Tye. I spoke with him and he had some great ideas right away. I paid a $100 deposit for my appointment. Tye got back to be beforehand with the design and it was PERFECT! Made a minor color change and went in a week later for the art. He did an absolutely beautiful job and I couldnt be happier. I will definitely be returning.*make sure you bring your deposit slip when you have your appointment or deposit is forfeited*

Went in for a consultation with Luke back in June 2019. Our conversation was great, he really listened to my feedback and made his thoughts known. Fast forward to November 2019, when I finally have the money saved up and have my appointment for the tattoo. I was cautiously concerned about how the design would turn out. Got to the shop and Luke showed me the design, he absolutely nailed what I wanted to have done. Aside from missing a few bits we talked about in June, we had those elements added in where they made sense with the design. About 5 hours later, I left the shop with an awesome new tattoo!

Went into it pretty nervous and not knowing fully what to expect but he was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful through both consultations and answering any questions I had. I have been tattooed at almost 20 studios. I cant imagine going anywhere else in the PDX area. Everyone here is an amazing artist and an amazing personality.Several of the guys are booked out for months, so be prepared and know the wait is worth it.Im gonna add that Dave Goldstein is truly one the coolest people I have ever known. I couldnt possibly be happier with his work - his artistry - but Id pay just to sit there and share thoughts and ideas.

Great shop! Everyone is friendly and kind especially the guys at the counter. They always call or send a text to confirm my appointment dates. Brandon was my artist and his work is PHENOMENAL! His line work alone was superb. I had unfinished and poorly done work (Dragon Ball Super sleeve) from a previous shop back in New Jersey but Brandon was more than willing to help fix/finish as well as add more to the sleeve! I felt bad it wasn’t his original work but I for sure will be coming back to work with him some more to create new pieces!Overall the shop looks amazing CLEAN and the talks going on in the shop were engaging and fun from topics of shows and music to throwback stuff. Way better than just sitting there in awkward silence.

My friend and I were able to walk in and have our tattoos done on the same day. Ty did AMAZING work and was very friendly! The shop is clean and has a good vibe. Music choices were spot on! Will definitely be back for any future tattoo needs.

We are from New Orleans and randomly walked into this place with three girls all wanting tattoos...Ten minutes prior to closing. They could not of been more accommodating and friendly. They did AWESOME work and my artist Greg Duthie exceeded my expectations on fine line tattooing, So good I ended up getting TWO! Can’t say enough great things about this place and their artist! Tyson did an amazing perfect job of replicating my Papas writing from a card. He was able to piece together exactly what I wanted it to say, and took the time to show me a couple layout variations. My best friend and I went to Dead Gods Tattoo completely on a whim. We weren’t sure if they would be able to accommodate two walk-in’s on a Saturday afternoon.David was available for us, and he totally killed it. What we wanted was small, but we were also picky about it.I don’t think either of us have had that much fun in a tattoo shop before. David was so amazing, and hilarious, and he got our tattoos completely perfect.We left saying that we will absolutely be back for any future ink needs that we may have.The shop itself was something to see as well. So clean, so artistic, so completely awesome....the only negative thing I would have to say, is that their jelly beans suck. inside joke with the artists.This place rocks. We’ll be back for sure.

Just had my initial consult with Matthew and it was the most in depth detailed consulte Ive ever had with a tattoo artist. Lots of info and a good amount of questions from him. I felt that he wasnt just trying to make the sale, but to send me away fully informed about the options in order to make a fully informed decision about my tattoo.

Went in on a whim, no appointment, hoping theyd have time for my guy and I to both get a little piece. Someone had time for me but my guy was told hed have to come back. I sat down with Shalynn who is new at the shop and 5 hours later, I left with the most amazing piece. She is a master at realism and so long as shes around, I will never see another artist. Half way through my tattoo, my bf went to set up an appointment for his and David said hed be able to do his right then. 2 1/2 hours later he came back to sit with me with an amazing black and grey tribute to his dad and uncle. The crew at Dead Gods is unbeatable. We had a great time, laughing and joking around the whole time we were there. Worth every penny spent and then some.

Had a tattoo done by Luke Reuben recently and the whole process was great! I showed him the design I wanted, worked with the design and set up an appointment. Ive been getting a large piece done by Joe for almost a year now, and I could not be happier. Joes work is phenomenal. Not only is Joe awesome, but so is the rest of the shop. Everyone who works here is funny and interesting to talk to. The work-place banter is awesome and the over-all atmosphere of the shop is great. Best tattoo shop in town!!

25% of body covered in tattoos here. Its a nice studio, but the receptionist was extremely annoying. He constantly went on and on about how one of my tattoo was not true Japanese style.Even though it was done in Japan. By a Japanese national. -and it was a copy of traditional Japanese art.Artists were pretty good though. They really wanted to do their own original work even though I brought in sketches. If you do bring in artwork you want, they expect you to have the artists permission. I dont know if this is an American thing or not but was definitely not the case in Japan.They do good work and the prices are typical.

Great place, clean and professional. They have video games while you wait, and plenty of art books. The staff is also engaging and laid back. I recommend this place to anyone who is a first timer, or returning for new art!

There is a great energy and excitement when someone exceeds your expectations. I am an artist. I have ideas and vision the I have an emotional attachment to. And to collaborate with someone and be blown away by how they execute our ideas is incredible. Joe Skramstad gave me a tattoo that I will LOVE forever!

I love deadgods tattoo. I have been tattooed by Davey twice now. What a great artist and a very neat person he is. Make sure when youre shopping for a tattoo, you at least stop in and see what these guys have to offer. I wont go to another artist, let alone another shop. That is how good they are.Extremely clean and sterile environment. I watched my artist open everything from sterile bags while he set up his station during each sitting. I have no concerns about cleanliness or contamination and I have not had an infected tattoo yet. I watched him reset his entire station during my last sitting due to it not looking quite right. Davey is meticulous and accurate with his work. I have been in 6 sittings total now. No reason for me to go anywhere else.The setting is comfortable and fun too. The artists and employees genuinely seem to enjoy working at DGT. Happy employees are generally productive and do good work. It definitely reflects here.

Will was awesome!!! You know when you build up anticipation for something that when it actually comes down to the event it doesnt live up to the hype? Well this wasnt the case for me. Will and the rest of the guys totally exceeded my expectations and I am fairly particular. He made sure to take time with me in design and seemed to have all the patience in the world. During the tattoo it was relaxation and fun conversation with the other artist. It had been 15 years since my last tattoo so it felt like it was the first time again and they were great. The after care instructions were clear and concise and healed withing a couple days. I am so happy with the finished product I am starting to plan my next tattoo!!

I have put in over a 100 hours in at Dead Gods. My only complaint is that Dominick (The artist I use) is usually booked at least a month out. (A testament to his skill) Outside of that, I think this is the best place to get a tattoo. Not just in Portland, but anywhere. From the art work to the booking process, Dead Gods is a top notch tattoo shop. Youd be hard pressed to find a more professional, clean and fairly priced shop.

Brandon is AMAZING. He did my first Pokemon piece, and I am beyond in love with it. Hes great at what he does, and it looks better than I could have ever imagined. If youre looking to get a Pokemon tattoo or pop culture tattoo, hes they guy for you. I look forward to working on my sleeve with him :)

I hear a lot of great things about Dead Gods, so I decided to give it a shot. As I entered there was lot to take in. Great art work, smooth customer service, and a lot of friendly regulars. As I was getting my tattoo started there was a lot of open talk between the owner and other artiest. As the owner was tattooing a young lady he was explaining to a fellow co-worker how he doesnt like, girls holes to be tight. No, it didnt stop there.I felt bad for the girl as she was clearly uncomfortable. I really enjoyed my artiest as he was clean and did great work. I dont support open sexual talk around woman nor anyone. But in your own business? In front of woman? In front of customers? I wont go back and I definitely wont recommended Dead Gods Tattoo.

These guys are so very entertaining when you go in. If you want a quality tattoo every artist here is amazing. I have been going to Will since I was 18 (now almost 24) and he has yet to disappoint. Ive had a friend go to Bacon and he did wonderful. The other artist I have only seen them at work and their past works and it is beautifully done. Clean and sanitary place. My best friend has gotten piercings from here as well and the guy did a good clean job.Overall great place and great people.

It wasnt my first tattoo, but it was going to be my biggest, spanning across my shoulders and upper back. With a tattoo of this size, it was crucial to select a shop and artist that I would be comfortable working with. I visited a few shops and met with a handful of artists; I chose Shalynn at Dead Gods Tattoo.First, Id like to touch on the space. The shop is clean, cool, and natural light comes in through big windows. The decor consists of skeletal remains with a Disneys Haunted Mansion feel. An eclectic mix of tunes ranging from indie to metal and EDM blessed my ears. I could live here.All the artists that work here seem to get along really well with each other, doing small favors for each other, but also joking around like friends, it made for a pleasant atmosphere.Most importantly, the artist that made it happen: Shalynn. I think she was as excited and eager as I was to get the ink flowing and that kind of passion matters because it shows in the art. She did a great job listening to what I wanted, answering my questions, calming my worries, and making sure I was comfortable for the 15+ hours I spent getting my skin stabbed repeatedly with needles. I came in as a walk in on a busy day and they were more than willing to fit me in between appointments. They were super friendly and awesome to talk to. They fit me in within an hour and did my tattoo very well. I will definitely be back when I do my half sleeve and for any other tattoos that I want in the future.

I came here after going to a place down the road (connected to Taqueria Seven Estrellas), that told me they couldnt do a tattoo of snowflake in blue ink... After full well knowing what I wanted AND tattooing my two friends that came with me (we were all getting tattoos together).So we came down to Dead Gods and was immediately greeted warmly by Luke. My friends and I asked if he could tattoo a snowflake in blue ink. Of course the answer was yes (because what tattoo artist cant do a simple snowflake). And Im actually so happy the other tattoo shop was incapable of this because Luke from Dead Gods became my new favorite person.Luke was fantastic and I highly suggest him! He did an amazing job and was thoroughly entertaining. Not only that, but every employee I encountered was great. Super nice, very helpful and genuinely good people.I cant emphasize how much I suggest going to this place. Its tucked in the corner right next to Vine Gogh and has such a cool atmosphere. I will definitely only come here from now on!

I got a half sleeve done by Will Bowler here. Not only did it turn out great but the art work is all his. I came in with an idea and he took my idea and made it great with his own style and thoughts. The place is always clean and the guys are artists and great ones at that.

Not intimidating, despite the name. I thought itd be this super-intense hard-rock place based on the name, but everyone was really chill and weird in a fun way. The employees clearly like being around each other and sang along to Gettin Jiggy Wit It. Im very happy with the work.

Do yourself a favor and go here if you need a tattoo. The place is clean, they accommodate walk ins when they can and everyone there is nice and helpful. All of the artists are great, but I recommend Keoki. I cant tell you how happy I am with the tattoo he did for me. It is a masterpiece and Keoki is such a nice person. He really cares about you as a person, not just a customer. The price he charged was amazing, given how much work and how much of himself he put into the tattoo he did. I looked around a lot before settling on Dead Gods Tattoo and am so glad I did.

These people are very rude that i didnt even go in. Called to make an appointment and they said we dont do that over the phone, so i asked if there was time and again they didnt do that over the phone. So i asked for a price range of a simple tattoo and he said we dont give that either. It states piercing so i asked about piercing and they said they dont do that. I asked is there anything he will provide over the phone he said no if i want to come in then come if not then dont.Didnt GO
