Civic Arts Plaza Theatres

Great place to see concerts and shows. Easy to park and find where you need to go. Its also a beautiful place to just simply take a walk around the area and gardens of the world is right across the street as well.

I work on the remodel of the Performing Arts Theater. Looks really nice. Probably never see it in action though, kinda far form HB. Flooring installer, Go Cir.

An beautiful, upscale performing arts center. A lovely place to spend the day, and also the area immediately surrounding the building is lovely to walk around.

Nice seats, not a seat without a great view. Soda, drink, and snack line out the door. Very long wait, understaffed. Poor showing on that end. Volunteers at the door (god bless them) are a little long on the tooth. Simply taking your ticket with the electronic reader was a task. Just my view. That did not take away the great sound system, and would not keep me from going there again. I have been going a few times a year since they opened. Its a very nice place

Great acoustics-comfortable seating. Helpful staff. Convenient parking. Beautiful was a great performance! A definite go back!!! If I lived closer Id get season tickets.

During Covid19 I just walked outside. It is so beautiful, day and night. In good times there are many great performances.

Get there early if youve never been before because the directions are a little misleading and parking is on the otherside. Overall, We had a great time! Staff was helpful and friendly.

This venu is decent, but lacks an appropriate amount of concessions for any long period of time. Also, the facility lacks enough instructions to guide guests to where they need to go easily. Getting lost can happen here.

Saw Beauty and the Beast tonight. I loved every moment! Only thing that got to me was how much and how loud the ushers by my seat were talking! Also they could benefit from the outdoor bathrooms being unlocked before doors to the house and lobby open...

Good organization and a lot of parking lots

We saw the play Beautiful tonight. It was fabulous! I cant say enough about how good it was. Go see it in Thousand Oaks. You wont be sorry.

A spectacular place for artistic events

Its a fantastic space to see a live show of any kind. Unfortunately theyve recently begun doing TSA type screening prior to entering. As a senior this practice is annoying, particularly when 90+% of attendees are 65 or older. What is it that they think were going to do anyway?

Excellent! Excellent! First time to the Civic Arts Plaza. We saw the Nutcracker and it was a beautiful production - they even had performers from the NY ballet! Beautiful venue. Great productions. Five stars.

They have the best shows with a ballet company, a theatre company, and an orchestra. They bring life to the community. It’s like you went to los angeles to see a show except you only had to drive 5 minutes!

This theater is awesome. Every seat has a great view of the stage. Very up close and personal feeling.

I go here every year for my dance concerts and their stage is amazing an absolutely wonderful. They have many dressing rooms and its very clean. It you ever have a concert of any kind, you should definitely go here!!

Nice new building with great accoustics and small enough that it cant get too crowded. Intimate goodness.

Great place to watch performances whether its in the big auditorium or the 2nd smaller one...outstanding acoustics.And there are frequent art shows that hang for months allowing theatre patrons to enjoy during their visit.Outside on the patios there are beautiful views of the city with easy access to city hall and plenty of parking.This review just touches this place because year round...theres always something wonderful happening there!

Plays are fairly good, snacks are bare, patrons walk very slow. Decent experience overall.

Took my girls to go see The Music Man with Adam Pascal it was awesome and my girls loved it we all had a blast the cast were all on point and funny, beautiful dances and the singing was out of this world!

The theater: the timeless and delightful repspite from the chaotic tumult of daily life. The Thousand Oaks Civic arts plaza offers your dose of culture in a lovely and enjoyable setting without forcing you to brave the apocalyptic traffic of Los Angeles.Plus you can subtly mention to your friends that you visited the theater and use words like respite and tumult then laugh when they ask which movie you saw. Movie... You reply, a person of culture invests their valuable time in Opera and ballet. Perhaps you mean the cinema?

Clean, well-appointed, comfortable and good seating. Friendly, helpful ushers. Ample parking.

The Wizard is Oz in Ballet form performances and the Wizard is my handsome brother Georgy Sweidan the most talented actor in Hollywood and Thousand Oaks lovely theatre

Be careful Google map takes to the backstage parking lot, which is not the correct parking lot. This backstage is for staging truck parking. Google map take to the second right turn, should be the first right turn. Then walk up to the Civic plaza theatres. 1/17/2020.

They gave a great selection of plays. Been a season holder for over 15+years

The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and quiet. Too bad the restaurant was not serving alcohol, we would have stayed for dinner.

Excellent venue! Easy parking. Lots if places to dine and hang out at if youre there early for an event. Especially if its assigned seating, you can enjoy yourself and not rush to get comfortably seated. Easy, scenic walk from the parking into the orchestra hall. Overall wonderful experience

Tonight was Sound of Music. My grin became bigger and bigger as the show progressed. I particularly loved the woman who portrayed the Mother Superior... what a set of perfect pitch lungs... just awesome!

This lovely theatre hosts a wide range of acts and shows. Parking is easy and a good price $8, and easy walking distance to the theatre. The outside is well designed, with places to sit and a relaxing fountain. The staff are very friendly, and there are refreshments served inside, including alcohol. The place is well maintained, and the acoustics are great. Overall a wonderful place to catch a show!

It was so fun I went to the choir and at the end the entire sch9l district did a really nice ending

Huge fan of the TO Civic Arts plaza. We go to the Pantages a lot, but TO is so much easier to get to, to park at, and they allow you to take your drinks into the theater. Such a good experience.

We saw the Nutcracker and we loved it! TO Civic Art Plaza has a beautiful theater. My kids loved the show,too. After the show they could not stop dancing !

Theater attendee in Los Angeles--first time to Thousand Oaks Plaza. Good parking but poor signage--Stood in line 20 minutes to pick up prepaid tickets only to be told will call was one floor down!! Went down one floor--again no signage re location will call--wall to wall people standing around--saw desk at back of room--unmarked--that was will call. If buy tickets thru ticketmaster better have smart phpne. Ticketmaster penalizes any senior who does not have a smartphone--by charging senior $18 to mail tickets to you!! No more--will attend theater in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley where theaters are senior friendly and can buy tickets either on line or by phone with option for mail or will call

Watched West Side Story and had a wonderful time. The theater is very comfortable with friendly staff.

The ushers are rather forceful, which I did not care for at all.

Cost $8 for parking. Should have parked on the street for FREE. Got there an hour early too!

It was truly spectacular! The best show Ive ever seen that effortlessly transported me to the heavenly sphere. The dancers were breathtakingly graceful like angels sent here from above. My husband and I will recommend the show to all our family and friends.

Cool Civic Plaza. Lovely center of performing arts. Low key. Parking not difficult.

Beautiful place. One of the only places where the parking hassle isnt a nightmare and youre not paying a fortune. We really enjoy the plaza often.

Local approachable venue for high quality entertainment

Beautiful theatre, freeway accessible, inexpensive $8 parking in a structure (back into the parking spaces for easy exit after your event), extremely helpful staff and volunteers, very good selection of entertainment. I have seen both concerts and plays here. It is a great venue for both. Plan ahead for traffic, though. Getting through the interchange of the 101 and the 405 is a pain, if you have to take that way to get out there.

Came here for Jordan Peterson lecture. Loved how well organized the event was from friendly security guards, staff to help you find your seats to VIP check ins and cafe. Plenty of staff to help and direct you. They allowed us to go late, overtime just so we could get the most out of Jordan Peterson.

Great place to see all kinds of entertainment no bad seat in the house. Affordable prices.

I enjoyed my event tonight I am enjoyed a lady named Isla I did not care for a lady named Lucy Im disabled and I needed to charge my phone in my scooter in order to you know be okay but all they did thats what Im talking about Lucie I put my phone to charge and she had a hissy fit believe she could have done is going saying I can go put your phone in your scooter over there for you because I understand youre disabled and need the phone and scooter because thats your means not to be stranded I would definitely love to go to another event at the thousand oaks Civic plaza is a very nice location seats are comfortable all in all it was pretty good thank you

This is one of the most busy and welcomed theater with the options to have gathering outside too.Some of the areas, you have to preplan and booked very early since this booked very soon, soon after the last event.

Went for the beach boys concert, and the venue was pretty nice! Small but cozy, has everything you need and ample parking. The staff were kind of uptight when my brother and I brought in outside drinks that was actually trash, but we couldnt find a trash can before we got to the door but other than that everyone was friendly and helpful, and the concert itself was great!

I have always loved watching shows here. Always a great venue where there isnt a bad seat. The only drawback is the parking. It takes forever to get out of the structure after the show.

Well maintained and beautiful, expansive water fountian. Its a pretty big theater with decent parking. It also has a lot of plays and is pretty popular. It is a little dated on the outside but, nothing too big to complain about. If they gave the place a fresh coat of paint and got rid of the wood accents at the top, this place would look super modern and fresh. They frequently host popular plays that were once broadway shows.

RUDE USHERWe saw “Beautiful” today . My husband and I changed seats during the intermission because he needs to go to the restroom often and he has balance issues and I was worried about him falling . We sat in unoccupied seats further up from the ones we had paid for . This older usher was very rude to us . She needs to learn how to speak to the patrons or maybe she’s too old to change and should retire instead of ruining our first time at the theatre I do not think we will return

Beautiful center west of the valley and if not at the same stature as the music center, for the average audience is as good.

A good venue for a large variety of events. Good parking, though it can be a long walk to the entrance and to some seating. Well staffed with polite and knowledgeable ushers.

Watched Shrek and got passes for the next two shows in the same seats because they were fantastic. West Side Story is up next. Shrek was very good, my daughter loved it. She was just one number off on the raffle to dance with the cast at the end. Very fun day.

Surprised at how big this place is. Id actually go here more often if it werent a 2 hour drive from the Westside -- in traffic, of course.

Great show & venue itself, could use some improvement with its staffing. Appreciate a wonderful locations and open stage set up, unfortunately being handicapped I did not feel assisted especially when I was redirected without option upstairs during intermission when I can barely walk

Parking was easy, the theatre is a great size, and they have a bar with cocktails, beer, and wine! Cannot bring food in, though :(

Saw Motown there and it was excellent. The venue is very nicely. Not to big so the seats are good. Parking is organized for easy in an out.

Great venue to see a play or music performance. I think it is ridiculous you cannot buy tickets at the box office, you have to buy them from Ticket Master. That is the reason I am not rating it five star.

REO Speedwagon, Sir, Please, Richard Marx & Eddie Money put on Superb performances changing the venue from part of their tour to a BENEFIT Show for the BORDERLINE Victims aling with the First Responders!The Music was GREAT. The Venue, which Ive frequented for MANY Performances over the years, was in top form, and all the Ushers & Security personnel were gracious helpful & attentive!

This theatre is excellent, there is not a bad seat in the house and they feature many of the same shows that are playing down in Los Angeles without having to deal with the drive. We enjoy attending many shows here every year.

Its thrilling to have such high quality performances in Thousand Oaks. The theater itself is lovely. The Five Star (previously Cabrillo Theater) shows and performances are Broadway quality.

Howie Mandel+Jeff Dunham show, outstanding, very funny. Great venue.
