This park is great! There is lots of space for families to spread out and enjoy the lake. There is a limited number of covered picnic tables available but you can also bring your own shade. If you plan to enjoy this park, please pick up after yourself, there are multiple dumpsters and no reason to litter on our beautiful lake.
Such a great place to be during the spring and summer months. We went there today and contrary to the world being in the midst of a pandemic there were quite a few people attending today. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. My suggestion is that you bring your pop up tents, beach umbrellas, and folding chairs because picnic tables are limited.
Great little place to swim and have a great time! Every pavilion has a grill. You may have to do some cleaning most people dont clean up after themselves very well here.... Youve got your usual small town big fish in a small pond type people with attitude problems but it doesnt detract from the beauty of the place. its usually $5 to get in for the day but right now because of covid 19 they arent charging any fees for the rest of the season I believe so good deal there.... Its not perfect but its a good place for no money. You can drink as long as you dont bring glass bottles
One of the best fresh water lakes weve ever seen and been in along with still house lake just down the road..clear blue green water..too many people throwing trash out on the shores..too lazy to walk to the dumpsters in the parking lots or dont care and the park rangers arent cleaning it up..theres no hand soap in the restrooms as of today and no soap dispensers on the walls...there should be trash cans at the restrooms and down closer to all of the pavilions not that any of those people littering would matter to them
Pet friendly, live action volleyball, great atmosphere for friends family and co-workers
Its nice. There are both rocky and sandy shores. Last few times Ive been during the weekend there have been patrols which was nice. Only complaint is that the shore tends to be covered in boats. Where we were there was 5 to 10 boats shored within a 100 feet. It was also super crowded but its a lake so that was expected.
Its a very popular place. The whole outside area seemed clean and well maintained. The double boat ramp is steep.
Love taking the dogs here and the baby to go cool off with friends and family. Highly recommend coming here
This was my first time here and I loved it. I had no idea it was so nice for weekend fun.
Nice spacious area for familys and pets. No life guard on duty but super shallow areas with sand. Almost always packed, Id reccomend going earlier in the evening
I love this lake, it is safe and fun for people of all ages.
Not too busy and clean. Perfect place to spend the day with family and friends.
Great park. You have a great view of the lake and can go swimming. Cost is only $5 for a day pass but you can leave and come back in. Wish I had brought my swim suit. Plenty of picnic tables and shade cover. First day in August and it is in the upper 90’s but there is a good breeze because of the lake. Park is dog friendly and your dog(s) will enjoy the water.
Nice swim area, several covered picnic tables w/grills. Can pull ur boat in to cove n go 4 a swing. Get there early stay all day;)
A family favorite!!! My dog loves it more than my kiddos
First time being there. It was very clean and well patrolled by the park ranger.
Nice park. Nice lake. Nice beach. Good tables for a picnic.
I love this park. Good beaches, restrooms close by, ample parking.
First time out, its was everything I had heard it was. Breathtaking . Extremely open. Lots to discover.
Big open space and perfect for relax. The entry ticket is not expensive
I loved it and my kids loved it
The area is perfect the picnic tables are closer to the water the grills are ready for barbecuing, good times!!!
Great place to swim. Lots of people.
Great place kids enjoyed it.
Great boat ramp not too steep for getting out the large boats
The kids enjoyed it. Shade is minimal. Great spot to work on your tan! They have working restrooms. There are some covered tables with benches but unless you’re the first one there, you may not get one. There was police presence. Overall a family friendly place. The one annoying thing was everyone was playing their own music off their Bluetooth speakers. All kinds of music playing at the same time from every direction. Made for an interesting experience I suppose! Would go again.
Taco Bell can Not Compare to this kind of quality and taste. You can tell Everything is FRESHLY MADE

The lake was beautiful and amazingly clean
Great little beach area for the family during the day.
Very close to town, not fond of pebble beach, but very nice picnic and play area. Beach was clean and water warm. Nice bath houses available.
A mile and a half of swimming shoreline and a large sand designated area for kids. Lots of green grass and picnic tables.
Excellent entrance to the lake.
Had a great time wish there was more tables
Its cold out tonight but its definitely a good night to fish. Husband and I are reeling them in tonight. Nice blues
In the morning its nice to have a good swim and tan before its too hot. Restrooms are clean and the place has no trash on the ground. Enjoyed it with the family
Great place to unwind.
Great park.Good:CleanNice swimming areasLots of benches/grilling areasEntry just $5Con:Not many water fountains (bring water)No hiking trails, just lots of lake
This large body of water is picturesque, and allows many activities. The entirety of this lake, to include the shoreline is managed by US Army Corps of Engineers. The city of Temple may support this park, but Corps of Engineers is the primary manager of the water. This means you will not see personal docks in this lake. Temple lake Park is five of five stars, due to the many day sites, a protective cove, and low entry fee of $5.00 per car load. If you are a veteran, you can file for your free pass, that is good for all federal park locations. The lake does get busy on the weekends, so parking may be limited, but you should be able to get parking on any given day. Water shoes are recommended, as this is not a sand beach. It is pea size gravel, and due to recent flooding, may have some submerged items like sticks. In general the park is very clean and family friendly.
I love going here, I love the lake. Camping fishing picnic tables volleyball you can take horseshoes its just amazing all the way around great place and they patrol it to make sure people dont tear stuff up and thats awesome If youre in the area especially in the summertime you need to go have fun.
Great location, beautiful lake, peaceful and safe. The restroom/changing area was clean and well stocked. There was a missing person while we were there and the local emergency response was AMAZING to see in action. Will definitely return.
It was great swimming and we got a good spot
Great place to cool down
Great place to fish and boat. Not crowded.
Have grill and seats table and roof over it of course you can go swimming
Fun day at the lake.
Great views awesome place for family fun

Great family fun!
It was very nice and clean. And just fun to be with family.
Nice swimming area. All sand
Great park. Clean. Well taken care of. Good swimming area for everyone
A great place for family and group gatherings. Very well maintained. I have been fishing, swimming, playing/ kiting and running there over the past eight years.
BEAUTIFUL place to go, nice lake where you can see through the water clearly and the pebbles at the bottom. We had a wonderful time.
Gorgeous sunset view!
Make sure to bring your own water gears to be in the water, plenty of bbq grills
Peaceful and beautiful weather
Great place to visit
Super peaceful during the week! Weekends arent terrible if you get pavilions early enough!
Its fun family beach. Nice day to spend swimming
Not too bad if you go at the right time
Nice area
I use the boat ramp there pretty steep and needs street lights
Nice park with great facilities. We loved spending time here.
The water was warm, the beach rocks are nice under your feet, plenty of room to swim even when its busy, absolutely beautiful view. Water shoes recommended, zebra mussels in the water but not too bad.
The Game warden was letting abunch of boats sick right on the shore in the middle of the swimming area. Besides that its a great place to take your family for the day
Nice groundskeeping. Thats very important to me and my family. Clean cut grass, clean areas in general. I wish Blora park was as clean and kept, blah, it wasnt even close!!We stayed for 3 hours & just had a picnic no swimming today.
My family and I have a lot of fun here we swim we fish we barbecue we picnic if you buy a season pass for 40 bucks it really makes it worth it.
Great time
Great place to hold church events
Love going here. Place is clean and well kept.
