Course is well kept, prices are decent but the rolling hills are extremely overdone.

Currently airating the greens but other than that the course is excellent condition staff is amazing, and I cant wait to go back again. There was no drink cart but I played on a Friday they may pull them out on the weekend, but i suggest you call if its important to you. Course is hilly so dont drift to the left or right of fairway, and pace of play is on point. Enjoy.

Course conditions best I have seen in 20 years. Fun, frustrating course.

We liked the course and it was in great shape. This is the ASU course and it is closing after this year. The high wires and construction were distracting during the round. The staff was helpful and friendly. The price was steep for me. Market dictates this. Greens were firm and fast but fair. Give them a try this year.

Definitely a sad time. This is a beautiful park like golf course that will challenge the average golfer. It has been wonderful having it in the area and will be sorely missed. RIP

This is a 4.5 star rating for me. Great golf course at a fair price. It was in good condition and the staff was very friendly. A really good mixture of par 4 holes that make the course quite interesting. Good practice area. Nice clubhouse and restaurant as well.

Decent conditions. 5 1/2 hour round w no marshals. Rude staff at turn trying get a drink. We waited on every shot all day and guys behind us tried jump to 10 while we got a beer. Said it’s a local desert rule. Idiots won’t return

Played Karsten for the first time. As an OB Sports card holder, there have been many opportiunities. Finally glad I played. The course is in great shape. With the moguls, there are challenges, however more often than not, the roll is in the golfers favor. All greens were in great shape. If you are playing for the first time, it is a learning experience, second time is to take advantage of your now local knowledge. Outside service folks were great; very much into customer service. They made sure we started our round on an upbeat tobe. My only suggestion; if you are working the counter in the Pro Shop, smile, it goes a long wayl For those of you have not played Karsten, please do so.

The golf course is classic Pete Dye with lots of small and deep bunkers and riveted fairways. The greens are smooth and consistent and the risk reward on this course is great. The setting of the course is also really cool because you are in an Urban area playing golf. You also cant beat the summer rates for the quality of course this is. I would highly recommend it.

Golfed here with my buddy for the first time today. We had a great experience, although Im pretty biased as we were very lucky and my buddy won the golfer of the day promotion so his green fees were free and we got some balls and a 2 for 1 food voucher. Even if we didnt with that I would have said we had a great time. The course was in great condition, the service was excellent, and the course is very good value. Will come again.

The course was in fairly good shape but there were a few greens with some serious patch work - guessing those greens had some fungus issues. The cart girl was around often enough during our round but when we finished at 2pm we found out that the grill was closed for the day - drinks but no food.

Derek Crawford is the most unpleasant and disrespectful director of golf at the ASU Karsten club. One month prior to this day November, 16th 2017. I was told by both up stairs and down. Members can store clubs at the facility. Today I was approached by the people below and was told they do not store clubs for members? Funny, I talked with Derek and he refused to allow me the option to do so. This comes a day after I came to him with an issue he hadnt addressed for a month. Coincidence?? I think not. I demanded a refund, he short changes me and didnt give the full pro-rate of the remaining time. Said, I was threating employees. When I refused the lower amount he then proceeded to walk away saying take it or leave it.Very bad management with little to no communication between employees with a major lack of concern or care. Customer service is terrible. Ive been with several golfers who get blackmailed by cart girls with the bringing beer into a private establishment. Saying if you pay me I wont say anything. Overall the course shape is disgusting divots all over ever green, bunkers hard as a rock. Ive seen workers dip their towel in water on certain holes before... wow.. I dont not recommend this course to anyone unless you want to be treated like lesser of a person.. Very disappointed Derek Crawford. Shame on you

I basically learned how to play golf on this course when it first opened. Nice clubhouse with a bar and food. Staff is helpful. Conditioning isnt what it used to be or should be. The range is mediocre but the putting green is good. Theyve got a really nice dedicated pitching green. The design is Pete Dye and the holes are visually interesting. Its a test of accuracy and control. A real 2nd shot golf course. The 9th and 18th were designed to criss-cross but theyve messed that up. The 16th is the postcard hole and very difficult, especially when played from longer tee boxes (used to be well over 200 yards from the championship tees). Supposedly going to be demolished in the future which is a real shame. Itd be the 1st Pete Dye course ever demolished. Most of the cost was donated by Karsten Solheim and his company PING who were very supportive of ASU golf.

I played there today for the first time. The course has a nice layout. And is very challenging, if you miss the fairway. The buckers are not soft sand, but that seems to be the norm for Phoenix area golf courses, at least in my price range. For me the biggest let down was not the golf course, but the noise. It is under the sky harbour flight path, and their is a power generating station very close that run turbines that are as loud as jet engines. I was told that that are not always on. But they were today. If I play there again I will bring ear plugs just to be on the safe side.

This course is in the heart of the ASU campus. The layout of the course is different from many Arizona courses with less desert and more rolling grass surroundings. It can be challenging, but offers good play for beginners and advanced golfers.

The grass was very healthy for mid August. The sand traps may as well been filled with concrete, ball rolled in and left no trail and footprints really didnt need raking. It had rained the night before but the traps dont get like that overnight. Fun course that has its challenges and blind obstacles. Missing fairways and greens are penalized a bit harshly by the steep hills lining each, forcing you into trying shots you never have. Overall, fun place to walk in the footsteps of ASUs greats.
