This is one of my favorite places. You can get a great view of the damn in the Tempe Town lake on the west side. As well the area surrounding the arts is perfect for watching sunsets and enjoy libations from the bar just inside the building. Parking is still being worked in but it recently opened back up. As well enjoy multiple forms of transportation from skates to bikes to scooters to two-person carts to get around by the waterfront. The arts had some great water views and waterfalls. And amazing lighting at night, as well as other types of paddle boats for the water. Inside the building it is constructed in a very artistic look with bright colors and beautiful pieces of work. Great place to take in smaller concerts and performances. Truly a gem in the desert.
My two boys and I had a really fun time playing golf and air hockey. The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable.
Happened to be in Phoenix this weekend and was staying in the Tempe area. Was walking all around the beautiful area and happened upon the free friday night entertainment at the Arts center. The exhibit that night was so unique and interesting. One of the better museum exhibits I have been to in a long time. Romantic area and eclectic evening. Lots of good and cool vibes in the area and the arts center took part. Will definitely be back and keeping an eye on the events happening here.
This place is so awesome, good place to go around along with family, friends and kids. Canal view, park and good for fresh air, bike rides and scooters rented for convenience.Arts center is well equipped and very good place to host events and small meetings.
#REALLYFUN Great Christmas musical performance of “A Christmas Carol”!! It was our first time to the Tempe Center for the Arts and it felt like a scene from the Rooring 20s. Loved it!! At the time we went the parking garage was being built and we had to walk kind of far but the scenery and views was actually really nice!
Friday night happy hour at a fantastic location. Architect Barton Myers created a fantastic destination for the arts. With its picturesque setting on Tempe Town Lake, this location offers an eclectic variety of music, theater and displays. If youre in the area stop by for a visit and be sure not to neglect their generous happy hour offerings.
Modern structure and interior. Small but nice and relaxing atmosphere. Good for small to medium size meetings and conferences. Next to the river. Beautiful outside as well.
Walk-in Wednesday open mic is a free and fantastic way to immerse yourself in the local music scene. Put on by local music man Walk Richardson, this recurring Wednesday treat is outstanding. The venue itself is incredible. Beautiful shapes and colors tantalize the eyes. Great views of the lake, friendly staff, and really good happy hour prices at the bar make this a standout landmark in Tempe.
Attended a Contemporary Dance Festival presented by Carley Conder Dance! Totally excellent, from beginning to end. Well organized, on time, dancers extraordinary, technicians were the best! And the building itself is immaculate. Beautiful clean lobby, bar, gift shop (a little on the expensive side), gallery...and other smaller music performances in the lobby. Oh, there is construction going on where the parking lot use to be but they have that covered too! Free Shuttle Buses! They thought of everything! Excellent evening.
Amazing place! Great concert Soul of Stars yesterday and interesting modern art exhibition!
A beautiful building and an ideal location for having an event. We held our annual AZIMA TIMs Award event here and, by far, the best venue we have experienced. The patio overlooking Tempe Town Lake made it feel like a formal and elegant event. Our event room was a perfect size and also had great views. Well done!
Beautiful theatre and they hosted the Banff Film Festival. Love them for this. Use the free parking and trolley if possible. Or bike there (they have racks)
Beautiful building and theater on the Rio Salado. We enjoyed Flamenco La Vida outside Happy hour at the edge. Wonderful!
Beautiful venue, beautiful art work, beautiful all the way around. Right now, there is construction so you have to park away. But there temporary parking lot was well lit, had multiple security guards, and offered rides to and from the venue. We saw VoicePlay tonight and they were amazing. The staff was so nice and helpful, the jazz band playing before the theater opened was amazing, all in all it was a really good experience.
Beautiful venue overlooking Tempe Town Lake. I have been here many times for theaters and plays, most recently a trade show. There is a bar and a coffee shop most of the time. I believe food is usually catered if offered.
Beautiful! There are 2 small theaters and a small art gallery. This is worth a stop.
Saw Disneys NEWSIES performed by AYT there. Great show, great venue!
Beautiful Structure, Too late to view art exhibits.
The building itself is beautiful and very accommodating. However, I wish there were more options for shows and more diversity in they types of shows.
It was surprising to me to visit such lovely site like that
The show was great. The facilities are super clean and the ushers are quite helpful. The parking seems ample and Google directions worked like a charm. Cant wait to go back some day.
Phenomenal exterior design. Great use of lining up edges in the fountain outside. Great use of flame effects and lighting. The place has a very futuristic and almost military fort feel to it. If I am not mistaken the whole place is made out of poured cement.Ever wanted to see a ton of glass lined balconies and stair cases. This is your place. If they ever decide to get rid of the glass and renovate the place PLEASE CALL ME I will gladly show up with a base ball bat and smash the heck out of the glass that is all over the place and get rid of it for you. You dont even have to charge me. I will do it for the fun of it.
One of my favorite places to do photography.
If youre in Tempe this place is really cool to check out. I went to see a free art exhibit. The museum Docent was so nice and very informative. She was really knowledgeable and made me feel welcome. I left with so much information and tips on when to come back for other exhibts.
Such a nice little theater. The front row is against the stage. Very friendly staff and several amazing places to take great photos
Great venue that overlooks Tempe Town Lake.
We have utilized space at TCA for several years for events. We could not be happier with the level of communication before, during and after our event. Every member of their staff who assisted our productions went above and beyond to be helpful and courteous. The pricing for the amount of support and experienced staff you receive hosting an event on site is unmatched.
Tempe Center for the Arts is a great venue. They have a little of everything for the Arts. Gallery, Theater, Studio...theres even a great water feature overlooking the Tempe Town Lake.
Beautiful place!! We were there for a wedding and it couldnt have been more perfect!!
Love this place! Very cool to check out day and night. lots to see!
Wonderful place in a beautiful setting, we were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor patio before the performance. The performance was wonderful, every seat is a good one.
This was our 1st time there. And I definitely will be coming back. I really loved the friendliness of the staff and I had a really good time. I came for the purple experience which was attributes of Prince it was awesome. So Im looking forward to going to him the more events at this location
Excellent! My first visit am a native of Phoenix and didnt know this was here and so beautiful.
One of the best kept secrets in Tempe. Well worth the visit to see the art and architecture.
Lasting memories, and a great performance with awesome seats looking into the opera pit from birds eye view. I experienced A Christmas Carol in a new way. WOW- is how I felt seeing both the stage and opera together.
Great place to watch a show. Easy to get to and plenty of close parking.
Good event place, even if a bit small. They could really use a good anchor restaurant.
I love the Open Mic on Wednesdays from 6 to 10pm. Spirits & coffee are sold and some snack dishes. With that, just pull up a chair & enjoy the talent. And on Fridays & Saturday the Edge has specials to get to socialize, live music & dancing.
Beautiful venue. Lovely picturesque water/buildings surrounding the center.
I’ve only been in one space but it’s such a neat venue!
First time here. Saw play Asha. Venue is beautiful. Loved the high ceilings. Theater was cozy. Id definitely come back
Totally awesome and the lady was great explaining stuff. Beautiful art. Must see.
Great place to watch the Sunset, have a week ending drink on a Friday evening and listen to some excellent music. Happy hour at the Edge.
Pretty cool place for a conference. Lost a star due to poor parking options - pay $3/hr for garage or park in big dirt lot.
The place was clean and inviting. The people were very helpful with any questions that I had and was not left wandering around.
Fantastic design and architecture of the whole facility. Once they finish the parking it will be top notch.
This is the place where I turn around and start the way back on my 13 mile ride.
Parking problems! Plan for more time. Theyre constructing a big multi level garage and parking is somewhat off site with a shuttle to take you to the center. When we arrived many roads were blocked off for the iron man triathlon too. Totally frustrating and almost didnt make our 2pm show. Otherwise its a very attractive venue for smaller scale shows and has a small rotating art space too. Beautiful views from the lobby
Whitney Jones was singing in hotel lobby there. Very nice. Looking at water was nice
Had a great time, watched A Christmas Story in the theater. Date night. Great venue.
Peaceful, fun, energetic, lively way to spend time with friend and fam.
The concert hall is beautiful, comfortable, and has great sound quality. A top notch facility.
It was very nice. Seats with leg room. Very good service. It would have been nice to have an intermission.
Great place to check out art or music or food I like sitting on the balcony
I love everything about the Tempe center for Arts...
This venue is magnificent! Great ambiance both inside and out!
Relevant shows, a well curated gallery, and a celebration room w infinity pool. Fri/Sat happy hour a big plus.
Beautiful facility with multiple theaters. Good for a wedding / reception venue
Was here for a charity event recently. The sound system and video system kept going out during the performances/show. Also, the A/C was not working very well and it was rather warm in the venue. The venue itself is nice, with a large foyer for mingling before the event itself.
Beautiful bridge in the back took a few photos even though I didnt look my best! I wanted to capture this beautiful location!
Always love stopping in the museum and seeing what is being displayed. Staff is very nice and its a great place for a date
Always a good time welcoming and inviting environment love the architecture of the building and surrounding sights
I went to play guitar at Open Mic night that they advertise on their website, but apparently it was canceled. No sign on the doors to let patrons know, doors were locked.I wandered around with my guitar like Im john cougar mellencamp, then i left. I could have jammed a song along the middle of the bridge somewhere, but I think if it until now.
Road construction made it difficult to get there. Shuttle from a distance off was helpful, and a delay in starting the performance helped. Leave extra time.
The Center for the Arts is a jewel in Tempes beautiful lake district (if thats what its called now) not only does it sit at the pinnacle of the lake and the dam. Its architecture and interior are aesthetically appealing. The mission and community outreach are possibly the best parts of the TCA. Run by a tremendously talented team and there are a number of dynamic programs housed here that offer something for everyone. Funded by the City and the residents of Tempe programming is focused on the mission and intentional offerings. We love the TCA
Great facility Beautiful setting Good staff BUT poor parkingI have passed by here many many times, mostly biking or running with a few visits to the museum and a few events in the main gallery. But this is my first time at an event in the main theater. Nice. I was there with a group of friends to view the Tempe edition of the Banff Film Festival . The main downside was the parking. They are in the middle of completing a building where the parking lot used to be. They did supply a shuttle to the temporary parking, but we walked. I hope they have sufficient parking when all the construction is completed. Thank you Tempe
Tempe Center for the Arts is a great place to go see a performance and support the local theaters in Arizona. My sons just performed for actors youth theater in the production Newsies. The people were friendly, cocktails were excellent and it was an amazing time.
This is a great place to attend a show, gala, or event that makes ya feel fancy. Ive participated in several shows in the Lakeside room which has stunning views of Tempe Town Lake. Ive also seen all sorts of cool events as I go to my class on Tuesdays. The only reason Im knocking 1 star is due to the parking. Its awful. You have to park 5-10 min walk away - fortunately most of the time they have folks in golf carts that come pick you up. Most of the time.
Great place to go for a walk and enjoy the water and the people.
Great place for pictures but be warned their will most likely be other people their to. It has a great view of the Tempe Town Lake and it also has mini water falls. All in all it is great place to vistit and take pictures.
Love this venue. Not a bad seat and a beautiful setting along the lake.
Nice Venue! It is quaint to a certain extent, and the staff is warm and very personable!
Great venue. Easy to get in and out of.
Beautiful architecture, very plesant curators, beautiful art gallery.
Saw the Christmas symphony orchestra here. Was amazing
We used the bike/running/walk loop on the Salt River. Rental bikes and scooters are available.
Enjoyed a Simrit concert here. The facility is breathtaking
Great little theater where every seat gives you a good view of the stage. The performances are very professional and good for all ages.
Beautiful location. Excellent jazz and blues concert
Great venue - many thanks to The Stakes for a great show
I would give them 5 stars if they could get their act together about FOOD! 3-6 years ago when they had the cafe/lounge open and serving salads and wraps, especially for happy hour events and concerts, they partnered with CATERING companies to provide the food and alcohol and service. The TCA manager is a city employee who gets paid no matter what. Now, there is NO FOOD available (except sun chips) and a small carbs laden $8 buffet during weekend HH events, and they wont allow you to bring in your own food! Has completely mystified me for years! As a result, attendance at The Edge HH events is shamefully sparse when years ago when the food buffet was free it was packed and people purchased a lot of alcohol. Ive noticed that most other events are also thinly attended...makes me wonder how long they can keep this up? But with the new parking garage and forthcoming retail stores and restaurants might help. Partnering with ASU has saved their butts! One Tuesday/month during regular school season, ASU provides free musical events in the Lakeside room with complimentary coffee/tea/biscotti service. Get there before 9:15 am when the busloads of seniors unload and you will be sitting in the back.DO stop in regularly to check out their Art Gallery as they do a great job with this. Their gift shop also has a delightful selection of LOCAL artist jewelry, wearables, cards, etc. The Friday and Saturday night Edge HH also promotes local musical talent gleaned from their Wed walk-in mic nights. Hopefully attendance will pick up again once there are available food options close by.Otherwise, it is a stunning building, especially at night, and with the infinity pool, gas fires and color lighting. Very magical. Still a favorite place to go to, but it could have been so much more!
What a great venue!! Even in the balcony not a bad seat in the house. Here for deadhot workshop.. so excited for them
Lovely performing arts facility on Tempe Town Lake. Parking is a little awkward at the moment due to adjacent construction as Tempe stuffs in buildings along the lake. But a nice stroll along the lake from the temporary parking lot and they have a golf cart shuttle as well.We saw Detroit, a play about the 60s race violence (cops v. Blacks) and the impact on one middle class family. Well done in the smaller theater. Good acting. Beverage service available in the lobby with small snacks.
Lovely little place! The parking is a bit cluttered but Im sure theyll fix that eventually with the new garage going in.
The Tempe Center for the Arts is a lovely building on Tempe Town Lake. Brilliant date spot with the bridge going across the lake, free music on Friday and Saturdays in the lobby, and art exhibits in the gallery.
We go regularly when they have good plays there.
AC was either broken or management was trying to save money. VERY uncomfortable
Its such a cool building! i didnt have the chance to explore too much but the bathrooms are cool
This place is really nice to visit. However, the staff are very rude and judgemental. They treated us as if we were not welcome and we were loitering when all we were doing was sitting in the outside area enjoying the view. THATS WHAT THE PLACE IS FOR!!!! They really overstepped a few boundaries as far as Im concerned.
Ive only been to this place once for a career mixer. The view was spectacular. They seemed very organized.
Nice little venue with a lots of thing to do. Staffs are great and very helpful.
Romeo Y Julieta Siglo 21. Estuvo muy bonito el show! The play we saw was beautiful and the views at the theatre are so serene. Im excited to come back and see more plays!!!
This is a beautiful arts center and I truly enjoyed attending a Christmas music event Swinging Christmas Too in their Studio Theater. This is a smaller, more intimate theater in the TCA complex, and it was a perfect venue for this event. its truly lovely to look out over Tempe Town lake at night and see the lights across the bridge... all so nicely done!
Stopped by for a play, nice intimate theater, great tickets prices. They have a bar with different happy hour events, tonights was a jazz trio. Will stop by again.
Great place to check out. Family friendly.
Beautiful venue.. fantastic show
Outstanding sight located on the Tempe town lake.
Great atmosphere to experience art. The ushers are very nice and welcoming. Theres a small bar inside the place, and a great view of Tempe Town Lake
The theater and location is very beautiful, not one bad seat in the place. The parking is under construction but the trolly bus and golf carts were convenient to get us back and forth to our vehicle from the theater, so we didnt have to walk. I would love to attend other venues in the near future.
Beautiful building and location, talented artists and musicians.
