I love the castle and have been going for years. But after last night Im appalled. The bartenders leading to the outside back area were absolutely rude. As for the manager Sherry with glasses, she was the absolute most rudest disgusting person I ever met, no holiday spirit kicked me out because I went into a bigger bathroom to take pictures. Highly disrespectful. I paid over $200 for me n friends to get in for such poor treatment. Please consider new management. Also no respect for my breathing issues. Im a manager for a company too, weakest customer service ever especially for the price.

This is by far the best nightclub Ive ever been to. It has numerous dance floors and bars, all serving drinks and music you could never even imagine. When I went I was dressed as a plague doctor due to the Renaissance Faire and everyone loved it, asking me left and right to pose by the gothic furnishings and fellow children of the night. They even had girls dancing on boxes amidst the dance floors to keep the vibe going. You have to check it out!

Were there last night for Halloween the club is always fantastic except now theyre letting people into the dungeon that do not look like they belong in the dungeon or at the castle itself. Swim trunks and a tank top in the dungeon? Those two things should never go together also playing throwback 80s in the dungeon supposed to be dark electronic goth not tears for fears..... Bouncers were rude...

Best nightclub in Tampa. Love the ambience and the music and events. One of the few places that supports goth and cosplayer culture. They create a safe space for all of their patrons. Staff is incredible. Doesnt matter if youre 20 or 50, they have something for everyone who respects and understands the underground and alt communities.

The Castle is one of the few in this world..I always have a good time here and am looking forward to their reopening!

First time going to The Castle in Ybor City in Tampa. I specifically went for the Vampire Ball. This club is big & the decor is pretty cool. It is two stories with several rooms. If you are into the goth scene you will like this place. I only went to one bathroom and throughout the night it never appeared to get messy or nasty. Never felt unwelcome by the crowd, or any pretentiousness. The only negative is that you can smoke inside. If you smoke then it wont be an issue. The staff and bartenders working on this night seemed friendly and attentive.The only reason for giving it 4 stars is because of the smoking. I can only give my opinion based on one night during this event but I would definitely travel from Orlando to go to The Castle if I had a friend or a group of people to go with.

The castle always amazes, this time we lost our 360 camera that we take pics and post here every year we attend at one of the bars but other wise it’s always a great time just have to be careful wherever you go with your belongings especially clubs...have fun and play safe everyone the castle is a must especially near every Halloween =)

I remember going here years ago on 80s night...Those were the days! It’s still fun to pop in from time to time... I haven’t seen the Senator in while though... I’d really like to see what this place looks like on the inside in daylight.

We Love this place. A little bit of a commute for us but well worth it for a night of nostalgia. It brings us back to the romping grounds of our youth. Great music, amazing staff, always a fun night.

I absolutely LOVE this place. It is one of the few clubs around that doesnt care to be trendy and follow the herd. People can be themselves there and everyone is accepted. While some complain about exactly *what* is accepted there, that is the whole point of this place - anyone can be themselves and not be judged.

I went for the first time to the 80s night in January, and boy was it so much fun! I go every month for 80s night and sometimes go upstairs a few times to enjoy the music there. The crowd is great and the DJ selects great music. Absolute 10/10 for the experience and atmosphere that The Castle brings to Ybor City.

Great place. Not your everyday Ybor bar, more goth/rock/techno/80s chill vibe. Very fun place to go. You can go in lingerie or blue jeans. Everyone is accepted here. Upstairs bar and dance floor, plus an awesome outside patio. Definitely the hidden gem of Ybor City.

My friends and I love how unique this place is but the bar service needs to be better. If I’m spending $$$ there, I expect to get a hello from the bartenders before 20 minutes of waiting AT THE BAR.

Great place, amazing crowd. Was a little odd being directed to a specific bartender that held an open tab; I understand from a gratuity standpoint, but kind of inefficient when youre waiting on one bartender to be free whilst others arent occupied at the same bar.

Great place, very unique atmosphere, I went there for a first time with my niece and my sister - I really enjoeyd it. However by the end of the night after I already cashed out, I noticed that they didnt give me my driver license back. When I tried to talk to the employees and asked them to look for my driver license, they were ignoring my situation and basically told me to get out. If they simply told me hey look man, we are closed, but we will definitely check for your driver license and we will send it back to you if we find it or call you that wouldve been plenty.

I love this place. If you are looking for something different, this is the place. They are amazingly eccentric, creative, and open minded here at this club. The drinks are great, they have bartenders that could mix up just about anything. I love the dark, cool atmosphere.

The Castle is one of those places where you can go any night and have a great time people watching and sit back and relax, as long as you can enjoy the music blasting through the night. Its a conglomeration and mix of people having a blast being themselves in all manner of dress and costume. Youll come across everything from t-shirts and shorts to plate mail armour and everything in between. It is a fun place any time.

If youre looking for a different experience than what youre used to, this is it. I went during 80s night. Downstairs was definitely more milder while the upstairs was a lot more hardcore...it is a goth club after all. Be prepared to have a good time! This place definitely didnt disappoint, the atmosphere and decor were spot on.

5 star bartenders downstairs Tina and Carrie are smart, professional, and understand how to run a bar. if i opened a bar i would hire them to manage it. the same cant be said for current Castle management which has gone downhill significantly, petty and lacking the skill set to provide the great customer experience this bar used to have.

Love going there. Huge shout out to Desire at the Door!Its 5 clubs in one really. Upstairs Red Room for relaxing and socializing on the comfy seats, (imagine bean bag seats, but on a stool, with just the seat like a bean bag, but stuffed with feathers or cotton instead of beads.)Main dance floor upstairs has the fetishes you asked for. Whipping walls, seating lining the floor and a pretty impressive bar lined up to the north west side. Oh and the huge projectors playing your favorite horror film to the music is a nice touch. Dancers on the 4 or 5 mini stages around the dance floor for show.Downstairs is a normal dive bar atmosphere, really relaxed and casual.Patio outside to get some air and listen to the music.Inside nonsmoking VIP room is really nice, almost looks like a theater.

One of the coolest places in Tampa, very funky... expect to see everything in here! Youll get to know the local character known as the Senator. Every so often theyve funky parties... 80s, Fetish, Vampires, Zombies, etc. Not ghetto or judgmental people in here, is just about being free and having a good time.

This place is always fun. Good Goth and Industrial music. They used to server Guinness in a glass mug which was AWESOME. Last time I went they didnt even have it on tap. That kind of kills one of the reasons I liked the place, but still great club.

I loved this place growing up and I always felt so free spirited here. For years I was a regular but as my friends moved away, had kids, and school and work picked up I didnt have time. I recently decided to have a night out and was sadly disappointed. Im not sure if they are under new management but there were so many new rules I felt uneasy. I still love the music but the tension was definitely not cool.

The Castle has an atmosphere that the pictures simply dont do justice. Its a bit different as far as clubs go, but they do things their own style. They also have 20 years of experience running the property and establishment, and have their niche down to an absolute science. If you are in Ybor and like clubs do not miss this place.

No one is ashamed of taking up a good chunk of the floor to dance on a Friday or Saturday to the great goth and industrial tunes.The bar in the main ballroom can get a bit busy, so if you can, try to order your drinks at one of the other bars in the club.A great place for judgment-free fun.

The Atmosphere and music were great, but the bartender charged us too much for our shots without telling me how much they were.We were ordering $2 well shots (advertised 12AM-1AM special on a sign at the bar), and they did taste like well drinks, and instead we were given some shots that were around $7-8. I didnt know how much they actually were because we were never told until they hit us with the receipt. So instead of having some nice affordable well drinks for about $20, we were charged $73.I hate to say it, but that threw off my whole night here.

The Castle will always have a great atmosphere and be a good time, if you choose to enjoy yourself. Tia is the greatest and Tom, Sean and Mark play the best music in the biz. Dont act like a muggle and youll have a good time!

Cool place, different music by floor. Nice open area outside. There is a slighly dark undertone here but it is still fun. Be ready to drink, because there is a $20 minimum on cards.

Ive moved away from here and I cant find another club like it :( I went to the castle for the ten years I lived in Tampa. Its a great place for women especially because we dont get hassled like we usually do at regular clubs. The music is awesome, the people are nice, and you can just be yourself and have a good time.

My favorite club in the US. Great vibe. Reasonable drink prices and selection. Bar tenders know how to mix liquors well. Wonderful eclectic mix of patrons both local and from afar. Great goth and industrial music sets with a mix of some 80s and electro and synthpop snuck in. Several venues in one with a few different bars and lounges and an outdoor area too.

Great place to meet friends, the smoke inside can be a bit much.They now charge $9.00 for a tiny dixie cup drink.I needed a reason to be done here. This was it.

This club is fantastic, everyone there, staff and patrons alike, are very nice. Everyone is super respectful. The parties they throw are always entertaining with burlesque, costume contests, and gogo dancers. Drinks are pricey on party nights but its no more than youd expect to pay elsewhere in Ybor. Love this spot!

Was accused of giving alcohol to my girlfriend on no basis what so ever. SHE HAD A WATER CUP. The lady wouldn’t believe us, wouldn’t even smell the cup for alcohol or even look into the cup. Whats the point of allowing 18 year olds in and selling water cups, if you’re gonna accuse said 18 year olds of drinking. We were standing near the bar, you really think I’m gonna give someone who is underage alcohol, right next to the bar? She threatened to call the cops on us on no grounds and was accusing us on no grounds. Ruined our night completely. Lady was nothing short of harrasing us, and then followed us around for a while after. My mom came here when she was younger, so I figured I’d do the same, guess not anymore as clearly this place isn’t what it used to be. By the way, my dad works for tampa police department.

Very cool set up. Two floors, plus a private area you can rent out, lots of bars so you never wait long for a drink, the downstairs dance area is outdoors partially covered by trees. The wait in line can be pretty long.

Excellent entertainment and staff the night we went. The sound system was clean and booming in both rooms. Well worth the price of admission!

A few friends of mine kept asking me to go so I finally I caved. I was a little nervous at first me being a country dude in that atmosphere but a few beers later Im in the cage dancing lmao what a damn night... People were cool, Ladies were hot as hell if youre into that sort of Goth style chicks! what more could you ask for. Loved it.

Got introduced to this club back in 2013 and have loved it eversince. Even if you go just to people-watch, admire the decor, and make out with your significant other, you will have a good time... so long of course as you are more of the classic alternative type (lover of industrial music, indie rock, and /or cyberpunk and goth fashion) or at least have an appreciation for such things. Free cover till midnght on Fri nights! Enjoy!!

Its a great place to be. Everyone is accepted for who they want to be. If your uncomfortable with letting people be who they want to be stay out and let everyone else have fun. Lots of entertainment, low cover charges and great drink prices!

One of my favorite Goth Clubs in the country. Fantastic venue, great bar tenders, friendly staff. The regulars were receptive to out of towners, music was spot on. Only thing I wish they did differently, was allowing everyone on the rises/stage rather than only allowing the gogos. Just what Im used to at alt clubs.

Best goth club in central Florida, hands down! A great selection of music and one hell of an eclectic crowd. Ive seen all walks of life in the club. The place is expanse with two upstairs bar (The Tower & Main Hall) a two first floor bars ( The Dungeon and Saloon) outside patio (Courtyard) so there is plenty of space to move around if you so desire. Most of the action will be taking place in the Main Hall (dancing). Most nights they also have dancers as well to get the party started.There are also periodic fetish parties, if that is your thing.

I had the best time of my life here, and I need to get my butt out the door and enjoy this place more often
