A few months ago we went to Florida for a family vacations and all we wanted to do was go fishing. We booked a fishing charter with another guide that left us stranded at the boat ramp and never showed up. We were unaware that this young man does this often until we called around and was told Max does this all the time. Luckily we called Captain Dave and he dropped everything he was doing and took us out on an amazing fishing experience. Thank you so much for saving our vacation we are still so very grateful. We caught lots of fish and Captain Dave even fillet our catch. I now know you get what you pay for and it’s not always best to try and save a dollar when it comes to fun and memories

We went out with three kids ages 8-10 and they literally had the time of their lives catching pompano, cobia and rays – and getting the chance to see sharks, dolphins and manatee. Captain Dave took us out on a half day. We caught Snook the first part of the trip then Reds the second half. We must have caught 40+ fish and 6 big Reds. We had an awesome day on the water! I was a little nervous beforehand because we we’re a party of six and had limited experience with saltwater fishing, but Dave put us on the fish! He worked very hard and was all over the boat looking out for each of us the entire time. Great day on the bay! Capt Dave took us to several hot spots and we had more fish than we’ve ever caught before.It was like a nature guide to the species of the bay! Our best day of Fishing ever!! We caught more Spanish Mackerel than we could count and limited out in a couple hours, caught a king mackerel, little tunny, cobia, sharks, and various other species. Capt David worked his tail off and did everything in his power to keep us catching fish and targeting the species we were looking for. Would 100% recommend him to my family and friends. Dave at Shallow Point fishing is the man. Three buddies and myself called Dave up while we were in town for 3 days. We asked him rates and how long he charters for - with a quick response we went for about a 6hour charter the next day.I can’t express this enough - just listen to what he says. The first stop Dave took us to we threw 3 lines in the water. With no bites after 2min Dave said I don’t like this lets get out of here.He proceeded to take us farther along the coast and said this is the spot. Dave baited a line casted it and as he was handing it to be there was already a bite. I kid you not for the next 4hours we had none stop bites. Within 10-15seconds of the bait touching the water there was a hit. “REEL DONT SET THE HOOK!” - Dave 2019Do as the Captain says and your sure to have a blast - he filleted up the 8 largest Spanish Mackerel we caught. Told us how to cook it and we all enjoyed more fish tacos than we could eat.I would recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced guide who knows what he is doing. Couldn’t has asked for a better charter.

I haven’t used them yet, I was planning to since my birthday is around the corner. After seeing what the captain did to the manatees I would never book this charter boat. It’s on fox13, guy tried to say he was trying to take something off the poor animal but then gives a high five to somebody else. Come on man?! Please don’t use this charter boat, captain only care about the money at the end of the day. I was also told this ain’t the first time he does something like this. The only reason I have one star was because I had to if I wanted to post this, if not he wouldn’t get nothing! Let’s boycott this charter boat!

Captain Dave was great! Conditions on the day we went out were not at all favorable but he was still able to make some adjustments early and put us on a lot of great fish. And the equipment was phenomenal! That Van Staal and St Croix was the absolute best combo I have ever fished with. I’ve been out with captain David 3 times now and every single time he put us on the fish like I’ve never been on fish!!! I went with him last weekend and literally didn’t stop reeling in fish until he parked the boat on the dock. We must’ve caught at least 75 fish a mix between snapper, snook, red fish, Spanish mackerel and jack. This guy knows his spots knows the areas where the big ones are as well I definitely plan on hitting the water with him again and highly recommend others to do so as well.

Captain Dave was awesome. He told us it was a funky day and he didnt know what was going to happen on the water. he put on fish asap. His ability to see fish a hundred yards away is incredible. Hes funny talkative and super enthusiastic about fishing. It was my first time salt water fishing and it was a blast. Massive schools of redrish. We caught redfish, snook, catfish, we saw Jacks, and sharks as well. The only bummer was we didnt have anything we could take home to eat. Dave had a snapper 1 ft from the boat and it got away. But thats fishing. Had a great time, cant wait to go again!

I have gone on 2 deep sea charters before this, one was very boring and the other was alright, we did have some fun but our party could not fish all at the same time. I did a lot of research through all the Charters in the Tampa Bay/ St. Pete charters for my brothers bachelors party. Captain David at Shallow Point Charters stood out because his prices were competitive, he had outstanding reviews and he had a boat big enough for our group of 5 men. At two different locations he had all 5 of us fishing, catching a huge variety of fish. You can tell with the Captains enthusiasm that he really enjoys what he does which made it a great experience. We paid for 4 hours of fishing and we got 4 hours of actual fishing along with him filleting the fish for us to take home. I look forward to going on another Charter with David soon. A list of fish we caught that i can remember was lots of Florida pompano and sheepshead, catfish, stingray, puffer fish, grouper, jack fish, cobia, grunt, pigfish, seabass, and snapper.

We caught so much mackerel, snapper, snook, and more even though most of us had little fishing experience. With Captain Dave’s mentoring and knowledge of the bay, we were able to quickly catch on and bring home way too much to eat. Definitely the best fishing experience I’ve had yet.

This is the Captain you want to fish with. The whole experience was excellent, start to finish. I spent 8 hours with Captain Dave and I feel like Ive known him my whole life. Hes an expert fisherman and a great guy. The boat was top notch too; big, clean, and comfy. If your searching for the most memorable experience look no further. Our arms got tired from reeling in fish amidst flying Rays, Dolphins, and Manatees. It was like a sight seeing tour on steroids! I absolutely cannot wait to do it again.

Captain David knows what hes doing. His knowledge of Tampa Bay and fishing impressed us from begining to end. His boat and equipment are excellent and his skill at finding fish blew our minds. We went fishing and it was more like catching! Giant trophy redfish and snook for 4 hours straight I felt bad that captain dave had to work so hard! Lol. It was rod bending action and a great time. Captain David Beede took three of us on a half day Tampa Bay charter September 30, 2017. We caught snapper, grouper, mackerel, sea trout, ladyfish, black sea bass, snook, and others. For three hours the water around the spacious 26 boat roiled with fish, including tarpon. We caught over 50, nonstop action, so many keepers we had to tell Dave please stop. I lived in Clearwater for 30 years, fished with half a dozen guides. Captain David is easily the best.

Called last second after deep sea charter cancelled due to rough seas, captain Dave took my 12 year old son and I on about 2 hours notice! He was amazing with my son teaching and showing great paitence! We had a blast and caught a ton of fish!! I highly recommend captain David 120%!!!!!!

Went out with Captain Dave on March 8th 2016 for a morning charter. We had a blast catching all sorts of different weird species of fish which is exactly what we wanted. Captain Dave was very knowledgeable on where to go to catch fish. We also saw a wide range of wildlife including having dolphins and manatees really close to the boat which was awesome to see. All in all we were extremely happy with the fishing and getting to see the wildlife was a huge plus. Great trip!

Took a charter with Capt Dave on May 17th. My parents were in town visiting and he was able to cater 4 of us on his boat with ease. He is very knowledgeable of the waters in the Tampa Bay area and was able to put us on monster fish, 3 of which came home with us at the end of the day. Would highly recommend him to anyone (even novice fisherman as he will teach you proper technique along the way) and will be a repeat customer for any future charters I take.

Great guide that kept us on fish when the odds were against us - negative tide, 20-25 mph wind gusts and a cold front. Caught bait immediately and was fishing soon thereafter with consistent hookups on large trout, snook and redfish. Captain Dave took his time to find the right spot to get us on the fish. He spent additional time with my parents who have never been fishing in salt water before. We caught a variety of snook, redfish and trout. It was a great day for all of us! We will def. book him again!

I wanted to take my brother-in-law and nephew fishing while they were in town. An acquaintance recommended Captain Dave. Captain Dave responded to me quickly with his availability and we booked the trip. While my brother-in-law and nephew have experience freshwater fishing they were pretty new to saltwater. Captain Dave was very patient with us including my early teens nephew. He explained exactly what we needed to do. Once on the water we started catching snook less than 20 minutes into our trip. At our second stop we hooked a couple nice keeper redfish. Just about at the end of our trip the 3 of us all hooked up on trout at the same time. Once the 3 fish were in the boat we noticed the trout were by far the biggest trout I have ever caught. Thanks to Captain Dave my family went home with the memory of a Florida fishing trip they will not forget.

Had an amazing trip yesterday. Seriously the best guide Ive had the pleasure of fisihing with. Landed 4 hammerheads in the first 15 minutes. My arms wouldve fallen off if I had to keep up that pace for four hours. Had a few small jacks, several stingrays, a couple of blacktips and 8-10 hammerheads. Looking forward to my next trip with Dave.

My family went out fishing with Capt. Dave on July 3rd and had an amazing experience. He put us on a ton of fish. We landed 7 redfish (6 above slot), 2 snook, 3 bonnet head shark, a mangrove snapper, goliath grouper, red grouper, gag grouper and a lizard fish. He is a knowledgeable and fun captain. My kids loved his first mate, Jetson, as well. Highly recommended.

I took my friend and my boys fishing with Captain Beene in December. We had a great time. He was very professional and took great care of us. He was patient and helpful with the boys. He was very knowledgeable and still excited about fishing. We went to a beautiful spot in north Tampa Bay. We caught a lot fish even though it was winter. He spend extra time with us until tide changed so we could catch more fish. Many trouts, snooks and red fishs. My kids enjoyed the keepers for dinner.I would go fishing with him again and recommend him to anyone.

My wife and I went on a bow fishing trip for stingrays and all I can say is awesome, when we got done with that he took us out fishing for cervelle jacks then onto reds and cobia, David is a awesome captain!!!!
