Great roadside stop . Honey for sale . Real local artist . Stop in check out the outdoor displays, small gift shop of works on site and lively conversation w/ the Artist.
Stopped in while traveling to get a quick break and was pleasantly surprised by Mrs. Kim & Mr. Joes hippie hangout. They were both very friendly and welcoming. Even though she unfortunately wasnt able to show us the inside due to COVID19, we found some great stuff outside. Definitely worth checking out. Thanks Mrs. Kim & Mr. Joe, we cant wait to stop in again!!
I visited with the intent to purchase a pound of red wiggler worms to jump start my compost bin. The website boasts about having native red wigglers. The interaction was quick and the gentleman was nice, for what its worth. When I got the worms home and inspected them more closely, I realized that they were almost triple the size of a normal red wiggler. A quick Google search helped me identify them as Asian jumping worms, which are NOT native and EXTREMELY invasive. I was swindled! A lesson learned.
Stopped by Hong Kong Willies on my way back from a car trip north. I would be passing them at closing time on my way home but I called ahead and they agreed to wait for me. I was stopping by for some Florida Red Wiggler worms as I had gotten a worm farm for my birthday and was in need of some worms to fill it with. Hong Kong and Ms. Willie are the nicest people. I have past their place off of I-75 many, many times over the years but never stopped. So glad I finally did. Mr. and Mrs. Willie are both very interesting people. They know a lot about the area and history of same. Their place is as unique as they are. After a little chit chat took my worms and headed home. If youre passing by, stop and check this Tampa landmark out. You will be so glad you did.
This is a hidden GEM. Kim & Joe are wonderful hosts. They have many wonderful items that are truly one of a kind. If you are looking for beautiful items to decorate your home, or a gift for family & freinds you have found a great place. They are open week days 10 to 6. They know the area & have been here for many years. Do yourself a favor & stop by !
Unique and creative roadside attraction offering a variety beach themed art.
I was there to pick up worm castings compost, its the best around as it is made with selective organic materials and the composting process is continued for 3 to 5 years until the final product is sold.
This place is very unique, I got just what I needed
A must stop just to walk around their property and see the great variety of Knick knacks. Very helpful owners no pressure great ideas
Joe was so sweet. Great place for one of a kind things. THE WILD FLOWER RAW HONEY IS AMAZING. Honest Joe called me with a credit because I over paid.
Worm casting heaven
They are a 1/2 hour from me. I love visiting and learning. They use only native species and have been at it since 1965! Thats amazing! If only more people knew the benefits of raising worms
Decent selection of nautical art and some nautical junk. This location is basically a local artists studio. Be prepared to encounter a reasonably eccentric artist / owner. Worth a visit to hear some of the neat stories of Hong Kong Willie while picking up some genuine local art.
Worms worms worms very cool items. Owners are very nice and lots of stories.
Amazing body of work. Very friendly artist. Great place to stop with family.
Had a Great Tour of the Farm. Its was nice to understand why its important what you feed your red worms. I had been setting up my worm farm with cardboard and found out the dangers of toxins in cardboard. Also not using chlorine water to get your Sphagnum Peat Moss media started. I wanted a red wiggler from Florida not a import . This Red Wiggler farm only raise a native worm to Florida. They took time and did not charge me for a tour. Most farms had only been in the Worm Farm business for a year or so. This farm started in 1965. I would highly recommend this Worm Farm. Ellen Rubin
I have read your review.Your identification on the worm you bought and the worm you stated may seem similar but are not the same. The Identification of the worm you bought from Hongkongwillie is A native Red Wiggler. There are 25 different Red WigglersSorry you are missed informed. One thing you are correct is the red wigglers you refer to is Eisenia foetida, orEuropean Night crawlers.are non native. This is the worm sold that you are familiar with.Research shows that most of the Red Wigglers (Eisenia foetida, orEuropean Night crawlers) are invasive. Their ravenous appetites and reproductive rates upset the delicate balance of the hardwood forests by consuming the leaf litter too quickly. cause natural impact on the environment.I have research the Red Wiggler They sell. It is not invasive. Thanks Jay Farmer
Joe Brown was really helpful!
