Just had the best soup ever!! A pumpkin spice Thai soup. Our meal was just delicious. Absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Also, I like to mention that the quality of food for the price point is outstanding. One of the best places I have visited in a long time!
Ellas never disappoints and their food is always consistent and delicious. The Seminole Heights Strong is a great dish. I forgot to get a picture before I ate it all.Friendly staff and a great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
First time here for dinner (came for brunch before). Great food for a mix group of vegan, vegetarian, keto and eat it all. Everyone found Great food to eat. Had soup, shared spicy Edamame, and mains vegan burger, vegan curry. All was great, large portions. Only issue, the music, which was great, was a bit too loud to have a conversation.
Dizzy with hunger I stopped into Ella’s for a lunch and waddled out an hour later stuffed with a stupid grin on my face. The BLT w homemade cheese was incredible as was the patty melt. Definitely try the fried green tomatoes- they REALLY do a great job here. The lady also tried the red velvet cake - homemade- luscious - oh so good!Worth the drive, across town or across the pond. We will definitely be back!
We especially enjoyed that wonderful occasion when you are ready to celebrate. The quality of the food is extraordinary, and the preparation is perfect.
I had the ole mole and it was amazing. The arepas were so crunchy and the chicken was tender. The edemame was good too. I really liked sitting outside here because of the old oaks. Cool place overall and I will be back im sure
The food was AMAZING! We had a table outside and the atmosphere was perfect. I had the Olé Molé and it was sooo good. My husband had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and it was so good. The waitress was very friendly and we didn’t feel crowded. I will definitely be back
Waited in line for twenty minutes in the heat to eat brunch here. Once we were inside they told us that a party of two can’t be seated until later in the day regardless of many open booths and tables. For what reason? I have no idea. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m sure the food is great but we will never return based on this one bad experience.
This place doesnt mess around! Every detail - from the decor, service staff, presentation of meals, cocktails - is on point. I was amazed at how quickly my food came out. I was disappointed in myself that I couldnt finish my Sunday brunch, but I got a second meal out of it.
Unique atmosphere and friendly staff. I did reserve seats inside and they tried to make us eat outside. Had to convince them to let us sit inside and we were sat at a 10 person table (with just 2) until a booth opened up. The food was delicious. I got the chicken and waffles with Rasta fries and my wife got the meatloaf with veggies. They didnt have the ingredients for the cocktail I wanted to order so I had to go with another one; the Havana morning, which was very strong for my taste. They also didnt have the macaroni and cheese or ribs I have seen other reviewers posting. Would have given 5 stars if they didnt try to make us sit outside and they actually had the ingredients to the drink that I wanted which was on their menu.
The food is always amazing and we like to go for Sunday brunch. Just when you think you ordered the best item on the menu, a waiter walks by with something else that looks amazing. I guess youll just have to keep coming back! The Havana morning drink is so good youll finish it before you know it.
Words cant even fully describe how good of an experience I had eating here with my mom. From the moment you walk in you feel love put into every piece of the experience. From the decor, the drinks, the food to the dessert you could feel the love put into every single bite. This place is the definition of comfort food. Will definitely be back. It was so good that even though I was too full for dessert I made sure to take a slice home.
I frequent Ellla’s and today was very disappointed I ordered their special of the day sea scallops with mushroom risotto and spinach most of the plate was great but the scallops were so salty I could not eat them. The manager or owner? Was quite nice I thought she was having our scallops recooked but instead came back with a peace of red velvet cake for the table and comped a drink which was a happy hour $3 vodka and cranberry juice all I really wanted was my scallops recooked so each dish was $24 basically for mushroom risotto and spinach very dissatisfied
Love the atmosphere and the amazing staff. This is hometown greatness. I had lunch but I had entire come back for beer and dinner.
American food, mmm, so delicious. I like it here always quality food & service. The staff was helpful and kind. The place has a nice feel to it.
We asked for a seat outside... It was so nice. We then were rained on and they boxed all of our food up quickly and efficiently. What a beautiful reataurant. The food was very good.
Food was good, service very laid back. If you are in a hurry, not the place. Good vibes, art work is nice as well.
Everything we ordered came out great I highly recommend this place
American food at this location - great. Great place to chill, get away, eat some good food. Really nothing but good experiences here.
Went here for their Sunday Soul Food brunch menu, loved the outdoor atmosphere but I was surprised when I wasn’t able to order a side of eggs. The server said the kitchen “wasn’t equipped to make eggs.” Ok. Weird. I get it, it’s soul food, so it’s not meant to be healthy, but I went because my friends wanted to eat here not because I wanted to, I’m more healthy. It’s brunch I just wanted some protein. The menu is all bread. The waffle ($12-14) looked and tasted super cheap. Like Denny’s. I couldn’t believe it. I ended up ordering the biscuit and gravy, it was a little cold. Huge portions. Not bad, but Whisky Cake’s gravy would put theirs to shame. Server was rude. I will be back, but not for bunch.
Amazing place for brunch. Delicious food and killer Bloody Mary. Also have a crazy selection on their bourbon list. Must visit when in Tampa!
I love the vibe and the food! I really enjoy sitting outside at this restaurant hands down one of my favorite places in this area!I highly recommend it for good food and vibes!
Heather was great at recommending food and drinks for a first time visit and made us feel completely welcome like totally warm and welcomed. The food was amazing we had The Florida Man and The Brisket Platter with Bacon Mac n Cheese. Pineapple Mimosa and Brakfast of Champions drinks. The Sunday Menu was great we have to work through it.
Trendy brunch spot on the weekends in Seminole Heights. Not much of a large menu though. They have a BBQ page and then about 7-8 entrees to choose from. We got the chicken pot pie, fish and grits, and a salmon salad. All were tasty. The bacon Mac and cheese was particularly delicious as were the bloody Mary’s with a rib on top. Expect to wait here unless you reserve ahead of time via Yelp!
This place is a must visit when you come to Tampa. The food will never disappoint you. The price is affordable too.
We came on an slow night, so excellent service! We had the edemame for appetizer and I could not get enough! The fried green tomatoes were tangy and fresh, heavy breading but I think that paired well. The pizza is outstanding! Just as good as some fancy hipster pizzeria. Chicken and dumplings were good, maybe explain its a soup because it sometimes served like a chunky plated food. The bread that they serve to you is a standalone for this place! You can definitely tell the care they take in making that in house, and the pesto butter is a great savory accompaniment. Would certainly recommend!
One of the first dine in restaurants I’ve been to since quarantine in Tampa. And absolutely loved the experience from beginning to end! Hostess, bartender, server, waiter all were so amiable. Loved the food definitely recommend the bacon Mac and cheese. Compliments to the chef. Clean and roomy place. Also had their Bloody Mary and was blown away
It was my first time there. I enjoyed sitting outside. I really liked their menu selections and our waitress was very friendly and engaging.
Was invited by friends and the food was AMAZING. My husband had the kiss my grits with catfish and I had a half slab of ribs. DELICIOUS!!!!An added bonus, there was a live band Ella Jet Duo (beautiful soulful voice).
So unique! The food was delicious, the music was phenomenal and the staff was great as well!
Since restaurants have re-opened after the quarantine, dining out has been very hit or miss so honestly my expectations weren’t high but Ella’s absolutely blew me away. The staff was super attentive and polite, service was pretty quick and the food was delicious. A new local favorite for sure!
Meg was great! She made an accommodation for my pizza and recommended the perfect drink. Thanks for the excellent food and service *****
Was told that it was reservation only and there was going to be a significant wait but went online to see a reservation available for a party of my size in 10 minutes. Called and spoke to a manager who was very nice but had no knowledge of the wait or what was said. Manager also said that they would bend over backwards to please their customers... I guess the managers enthusiasm for customer service is not equally reflected in the employees. Really love the restaraunt but probably wont be back due to the customer service.
I have to say the fried green tomatoes were so good and the catfish sandwich just awesome. Our waitress was so good. We were her first customers.Very attentive and I have to say, the rules for the virus were greatly appreciated
What a shame....reserved a table only to get put in the very back top, with a burnt out light so had to use my phone to read the menu. Tried to switch tables only to be told we didnt specify upstairs or downstairs when we made reservations...thanks for letting us know when we called. Ok, fine, well eat in the back, with no light only to find out they are out of the dish we came here to eat. So I order a burger, medium, came out well done and my wifes pizza was burnt on the edges and soft in the middle. Maybe this place is good but well never know as this will be the last time we come here.
Great flavor, good variety, fresh ingredients interesting decor. If you have played PS3 Little Big Planet, you will feel like you are in the game setting.Ox tail with garbanzo had the right amount of heat. Vegan garbanzo sandwich was well seasoned. Fish was moist and fresh. Will go again to taste other menu items.
We have been to Ella’s countless times for Soul Food Sunday, a couple times for dinner through the week, and for the first time today, lunch. Every time we go it’s superb. The food, especially on Sunday, is the best. The vibe is homey and eclectic (which is a good thing). They showcase live music multiple times throughout the week, too. It’s a great neighborhood spot, and the crowds that are normally there are a testament to how great the place is. Just a note: do go for the Soul Food Sunday, but heads up that once they’re out of something, they’re out! Go early. Go often.
Food and service were very good. Summer salad with added portobello mushrooms, Ole Mole and Guava Cheesecake. Sat on the patio. Restaurant is still doing COVID protocols so felt very safe and comfortable.
Bill was incorrect multiple times, had to void the first transaction, and then the manager asked if I really wanted him to void the second one as well. I just left it and paid the incorrect (higher) amount so we could just be done and leave. Many menu items were out, which we were told when we went to place our orders. This left us with a limited selection, and honestly we wouldve went somewhere else.We came here to celebrate multiple birthdays and it was a let down. Wont return.
This place is amazing! After searching high and low for a vibrant restaurant to host my sisters bridal shower, I reached out to Ellas and am so glad that I did.The management was very responsive via email and did a great job at answering all of my questions while helping me to create the kind of event I was looking for.Day of, we sat out on the patio and it was set up so beautifully for us! The mimosas and sangria were wonderful and ready on the tables for us when we arrived. They also had a table to the side for gifts and there was a fan blowing to keep the space comfortable. The overall atmosphere is so fun here and Chloe, who was taking care of us was absolutely wonderful! She did a great job at keeping me in the loop as far as timeline for the food and there was absolutely no pressure to hurry the event along! I cant remember the last time I felt so at ease when hosting an event at a restaurant. The manager on duty (I unfortunately cant remember his name!) made sure to stop by several times to check in on the event. We were well cared for and I was so pleased with the service. And the food! Everyone was raving about how delicious everything was. Their brunch menu is wonderful and they have such a fun twist on some classics.Again, I am so glad that we ended up at Ellas for this event and I cant wait to host another celebration here!
First time going on a Sunday for brunch... Well worth the wait? Interesting seeing a place like this considering the neighborhood but the hipster crowd is quite welcoming. The Bloody Marys were phenomenal! The food was delectable, however, the batter on the fried chicken was a little odd, it looks like they put rosemary in it. Cant wait to go back.
Excellent food. Beautiful outdoor seating available. Nicely decorated inside and outside. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed my brisket bomb very much. Very flavorful and messy. My dining partner enjoyed his chicken, waffle sandwich. Sweet, salty thing. Very flavorful and tender. Highly recommend this place.
From the moment I walked in I loved the decor and the outdoor seating area. As we were taking to our seats I enjoy looking at all the art on the wall. I was very impressed by their handcrafted drink menu as well as a selection of craft beers on tap. But what blew me away most about Ellis was the food. The blackened salmon that I had in the Kiss my Grits dish was some of the best salmon Ive ever had. That dish alone will have me coming back for more!
Food was good service was amazing I loved the atmosphere the hippy pizza was good it was a good vegan option.
Had an amazing brunch today. Sage was our server and made the whole experience a pleasure. We had barbecue, biscuits and gravy, chicken and dumplings and bacon Mac & cheese. The sangria is on point! If you have never had the bloody Ella, you’ve got to try one. Then there is my wife’s personal favorite, the breakfast of champions. Great experience as always. We’ll be back.
Cool 2 story building with outdoor seating, it has alot of art to look at both inside and out. They also make their own barrel aged bourbon which is pretty good.
We eat here all the time. Wino burger is different then what you are use to and is a staple in my diet. Viva la chim for potatoes lovers. Never overlook the specials. Come back Sunday because the chicken and waffles could slap my mother and still come to Christmas dinner.
Spiritual breakfast worthy of waiting for. Will go back! The biscuits and gravy were magical!
Loved it! My first time here, my friend reserved a table so I got her at 11, already a line and I can see why. The ribs were amazing! And collard greens and grits . Great prices for the food and mimosas. Different that they had multiple flavors to choose from. Will definitely come again
I love that they had vegan and vegetarian options. I came for the chickpea “chicken” sandwich but they were out so I had the veggie burger which was still pretty good. I didn’t like the vegan mac and cheese.
Great brunch and lunch spot. Menu has something for everyone but not overwhelming in terms of choices. Food is excellent. Full bar and great drink selections.
Absolutely amazing place for brunch! The fried chicken and waffles, ribs, fried pickles, and cornbread were all amazing! They have a solid bloody Mary and you can even get a rib with it!
Drove from Orlando for Sunday Brunch! It was worth it. Not many options but what we got was simply mouth watering. Pics do it no justice. Couldnt even finish half my meal. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Cozy unique place. I hope they add an egg option to the brunch menu!!!
Top notch. Eclectic setting. Tasty, fresh food. Excellent whiskey list. Polite, knowledgeable server. A must try in Tampa.
One of my preferred spots for American food. the staff was very helpful and observant. it has a great atmosphere.
The bourbon was definitely the star of the evening. The food was amazing and will definitely be back to try another awesome meal.
Food was very tasty! Very well seasoned. Skip the rice as a side, just plain white rice. Veggies were yummy, my one year old loved them along with the salmon choice in kids menu. Its somewhat pricey. Place is clean, unique, eclectic. Service was great.
The brunch here is delicious and they have a wide selection of mimosa flavors. I tried the huckleberry mimosa and it was wonderful. The shrimp and grits were also great. This is definitely my new brunch place and I look forward to going back.
Great Food & Service! Highly recommended. Diverse menu. Atmosphere second to none?
The staff is taking this pandemic very seriously and this is one of the few places Ive eaten at recently, all wait staff wore a mask and mask were required or you were standing up. The food was so delicious and the mimosas were huge if you get the double!!
WOW Really authentic At one time or another I have tried all of the local Mexican restaurants. Padilla blows them away. Super nice people.
I just to hate this place . But the redeem themselves. Awesome food and service
Needed that chicken and waffles and got it! Want a mimosa? Go for the double. I went for the boring regular but they have way more. Only reason for the four star was the slightly undercooked chicken? But its great Kansas city style BBQ for brunch or rather the only meal of the day. Great art collection and vibe.
This place is great! We ordered lunch the other day and it was really good. I had the BLT with Palmento cheese and potato wedges - thats a really tasty combo! Our kids split chicken fingers and sweet potato fries with a side of fruit - our server refilled the kids fruit without a problem. The service was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. Ill definitely be coming back.
Yummy! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! I had the catfish & a huckleberry mimosa, and my partner had “the itis” (brisket and ribs). This place is truly a gem and a must try!My only note is: mimosas should be poured with BRUT champagne, NOT Prosecco.
Super cute folksy vibe. Great happy hour prices and delicious food. Also the servers are attentive, fast workers.
Wonderful evening. Entrees were 5 star. The waiter who took care of us was Charlie Waters. If you visit the restaurant make sure you ask for Charlie. Too notch waiter. The restaurant was extremely busy but with our reservation we were seated quickly. It just turned into a wonderful evening. When we visit the city again well make sure to stop in again for dinner.
Incredibly cool art is sprinkled around this cafe - from creatures made from recycled metal, to a wall of Elivs, to the (famous) two headed alligator.Lots of seating inside and out. Parking is a bit of a puzzle - read the well written signs directing you to where you can and cant park.
This place is awesome, what a great find. The Ella Jet Duo was great. Good food, music and atmosphere...
The Sunday brunch thing was absolutely delicious and I just loved all the little statues and antiques and things there it was just wonderful. The help was great the servers were wonderful and just will go back again
Update: still amazing, love it had wine and a barrel aged cocktails. Still ️️️️️️️This place is so amazing, I cannot believe I have not reviewed it yet. From their banging brunch to Saturday night date night. Come for the eclectic folk decor stay for their many craft barrel cocktails or incredible food. Google local guide approved. ️️ I do not have any photos but the food speaks for itself. Dynamite.
Awesome place..very whimsical, food is excellent and friendly staff.
Great food with a quirky decor. They have a busy bar with quiet a few interesting choices. The food tries to mirror the variety in NOLA but falls a little short. Overall a good place to hang out.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Many vegetarian options, comfort food that is way better than most places in the area. Soulful Sunday is a must try.
Brunch is great here. Mimosas are good. Shrimp and grits are my favorite.
Cool atmosphere, good food, and kind customer service.
6 stars. This is our go to spot. Weve tried most of the menu, its all good and they make good strong cocktails!
1st time there. Bartender Nick was awesome.....highly recommend the bacon mac and cheese. Yum! Original live music was an added touch to an intimate hideaway spot.
Stellar brunch experience as usual, Meg provided fantastic and friendly service.
Fantastic food, wonderful outdoor seating, very friendly staff. This place is clean and respectful during Covid-19. Masks are mandatory
We love this place. Morning time is the best time. Honey love his Bloody Mary!! We will be back!!
We use to go to this place every week. Now only go every now and then. They took my favorite item off the menu, butternut squash ravioli. I loved that!!! Would go every week for that. Bread is good but oftentimes way too salty! Mixed drinks are hit and miss. Sometimes great, sometimes not. Anyways, we still go but we dont like as much as we used to.
You can never go wrong here. The ribs are amazing ! The Blood Mary is on point and this coffee concoction is a meal in itself and loaded with alcohol. Soooo delicious!
Great art, awesome food, and yummy drinks.
Great little hidden gem in town. Menu is amazing and drinks flow like waves on the ocean
Very very very cool decor from kitschy elvis and two headed alligator to the crafted found / repurposed object art work. Menu was fine. It was interesting that with the ample space there seemed to be a wait.oh. read the oarljng signs!
Excellent and yummy food, I loved the ambience this spot has, and the employees were super nice. I will definitely eat here again.
Always on point for brunch. Veered off my usual today and got the Florida Boy (hot dog with baked beans and apple slaw). Usually not a fan of slaw but this was perfect match with beans and beef hot dog - added just enoughsweet. Id probably add a jalapeno or two to kick it up (or ask for hot sauce). And dont forget the Havana Morning.
This restaurant was such a fun experience. From floor to ceiling, there is Much to look at as far art work and decor all over. The colorful decor is a prelude to the colorful menu that is offered at Ella’s.
Fantastic food and even better service!
We ended up here on a Saturday afternoon, and they told us they were only serving pizza until 5 (presumably so the kitchen staff can take a break), but it was happy hour, so we sat at the bar for a bit. We ended up getting the Cuban calzone which was amazing, and came with a tangy sweet pork au jus...yum. I would also recommend the skirt steak salad - it is really a model of what salads should be. Everything was seasoned in it, including the avocado, and it was just special. The mojito was pretty good, super minty, which I appreciate.
Best vegan pizza ever! Ive had to cut meat and dairy from my diet for health reasons and Ive missed pizza but no more! Thank you Ellas for bringing me such happiness! I took one bite and was full before I even thought to take a picture but Id highly recommend this yummy pizza! I also had to exclude the almonds and they were very accommodating. SO happy I have a place to go next time Im craving a pizza!
Awesome food, awesome drinks, Awesome Service, what else could you ask for!!!!!!7ujjb
