Door 44 Winery

This was a lovely place to stop for a wine flight. They have a great open tent, and despite the rain, we stayed dry the whole time and really enjoyed ourselves! A flight for each of us was just what we needed!

Door 44 & Parallel 44 are both fabulous wineries! Their tastings are first rate, good size samples you can taste. The variety of wines are very diverse & that enables everyone to enjoy something. Their COVID-19 precautions are right in line w/the health department guidelines, and all staff & owners are so very friendly and welcoming you feel like family. They try hard to create a great experience for all guests & have fun & safe events in addition to routine tastings.

First time at a winery and it was fun! I bought a bottle of Pink Frosting. Cheers!

My bachelorette party was over Labor day weekend. We took Door County Trolley to wineries in the area and Door 44 was the best! They gave me a pretty bracelet that added to the fun and built great memories. Great place!

The winery is beautiful and in a great location. Wine is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. We went there our second night in door county and the service was wonderful. We came back on the second day to just buy another bottle of wine and the server was extremely rude, and not helpful at all. So we just left without getting our bottle of wine.

The guy doing the seating was really friendly. The land is pretty and the tents they have set up are nice. But $7 for 4 extremely small shot like tastes is a little over priced for the area. I’m not sure if the tastings were small due to covid or it’s always like this, but there are better options in the area.

Loved the unique wine, and the staff was fantastic! 10/10 recommend going for the new wine tasters in your life.

Kind of a longer wait but not too bad, frozen tundra is the best white Ive ever had. Worth the wait!

We were there last Friday and then on a trolley on Saturday. Friday it took forever to get service, which is understandable due to changes with covid. Saturday the lady that waited on us yelled at my group for trying to sit together and then spoke poorly about us to another group on our trolley. It saddens me cause I always stop on my way i to D.C. Its is now off my list. 2 days in row of poor service.

Try the new Pink Frosting, its amazing! (If you like sweet wine that can stand on its own)

WOW - where do I begin?! Even with the COVID-19 restrictions, Door 44 made our weekend in Door County so memorable. The live music by The Song in Your Head, the delicious wine (we highly recommend Bubbler) and the tent shade provided for the event was just perfect. Our expectations we definitely exceeded and we highly recommend Door 44.

My Moms group and I had a trip to Door county and travelled to this winery twice. The first day we understood perhaps they were overwhelmed and the lengthy service of over 20 minutes was met with our understanding. The following day we visited Door 44 Winery along with the Door County Trolley tour. They were under-prepared and had our table sizes mixed up, so we corrected this by assembling them at a table that could accommodate our party of 5, apologizing for their mix up and for wanting our party to sit together. This was met with abrassiveness from the server, who then subsequently was overheard at the neighboring table asking if our group was annoying the entire time on the trolley, which they said we werent. She was extremely slow at serving our table and when visiting the neighboring table again was overhsard saying how unprofessional she was being by saying something about our table, and how she would hunt down the table (who was visiting from Texas) when she went down to Texas on vacation in a week, if they said something to us about her comments. I was appalled at her disrespect. We still tipped her, but we were extremely disappointed by her lack of tact and slow service.

Dont waste your time, drive right past and go to door peninsula winery instead. Been here twice and had bad experiences both times.

My husband and I were on our way back home from our trip in Sister Bay and decided to stop for some wine. We decided to each do the tasting and then enjoy a bottle. Wine tasting was nice: we enjoyed several different types and the staff was very informative. We bought a bottle of the La Crescent and sat on the patio which was very relaxing. The price was a little high but still comparable to other wineries in the area. The only thing I didnt like was that the staff kept trying to push me into becoming a member or buying a case of wine. We just wanted to enjoy a bottle before leaving Door County and we heard the same pitch from 4 different staff members to buy more. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and we would go back.

My Bachelorette Party went here this last weekend and we all had an amazing time! We each received our own wine flight, which was 4 samples, of either sweet, dry, red, white, or rose. This was a great idea that worked perfect for my party of 13 especially with each flight only being $3. Very fun idea and reasonably priced! The customer service was exceptional and we were serviced right away. We enjoyed ourselves sitting outside at this beautiful winery in Door County. I highly recommend & cannot wait to visit here again!

This is a small local winery most definitely nice people, a nice selection of wines most definitely recommended for people traveling through.

I have always enjoyed their wines, a couple of them are very good. They do not try to do too many and stick to a few quality ones. On the other hand, finally visited their new winery and was not impressed. The road in is poorly marked, know they’ve had some signage issues, and the road in was rutted out very badly so hopefully that will be repaired for next year.Once inside, you were greeted promptly but told you have to pay seven dollars to taste. Other wineries in Door County do not do this and are usually packed, but Door44 was empty. Having recently visited wine country, tasting is often accompanied by a price but if you purchase a bottle, it is waived. Don’t know if that occurs here, never got that far.The winery seemed too large and not very cozy, warehouse feel. I would suggest skipping this winery, if you like their wines, buy them at Econo foods, and go to the Door Peninsula winery just up the road for free tastings, a more pleasant, fun atmosphere.

This is a great little winery. The new building felt new in that it didnt have the cozy feel yet. It is a great modern look though! Its $7 to taste which seems high. We recently found a free wine tasting coupon and when we handed it over a lady behind the counter seemed irritated we were using it and was kinda rude about the whole thing. Everyone else seemed nice though. It also appeared that our pours were half as much as other people tasting. Our first impression of the place is very mixed. We arent sure well be coming back after this experience. The wines however taste great!

My boyfriend (who is not a wine drinker) and I LOVE this winery! We visited the first time back in June and made a point to come back today. We were greeted with a hug from the awesome lady who did our wine tasting at our first visit and she treated us like family. $5 tastings, great wines & discounts when you buy 4+ bottles. We will be back again

This was a smaller winery in Door County, but service was prompt and the woman serving me was knowledgeable and warm. Warning, there are not many sweet wines here. I did find a delightful semi sweet that I regretted not buying the whole way home.

I went in to buy wine for Christmas. All I wanted was to sample a few types before I bought them. They made me pay $8 to have for three sips and still left with no wine. Will never step foot in the place again. Ended up going to Red Oak Winery instead. Sampled the wine I wanted to buy and bought some.

They have great wines and have great hospitality!

The building is brand new (opened within the last week). We paid $5 each for two flights of samples and I was impressed with almost every wine we tried. One of the servers was great with providing additional information about each wine.

Very informative and very attentive. Nice wine. Will likely be coming back.

Got a free wine tasting from one of the magazines. It was nice that we also got a free glass with the tasting. The wines were okay. My husband really enjoyed the ICE wine. We did buy a bottle of wine. There wasnt much more to do there.

Excellent wine and service!!

Was not greeted. Was not helped even after waiting fifteen minutes to try wine. There were three workers, two were helping the six total customers aside from the two of us in the building. No one bothered to even make eye contact. Weird way to treat your customers an hour and a half before you close. Even as the last group of four was checking out no one would even say hi to us. Do not recommend if you like service or trying wine. Had a great time at Door Peninsula, Harbor Ridge, and even Orchard Country even though their samples were really small. Better than nothing.

Just had the best ice wine in the world!! (Literally!!) Nel (our host) was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We only could stop by for a quick minute and she took very good care of us in helping with our wine selection. We cannot wait to come back. Please visit if you are looking for a wonderful, delicious and informative experience!!

Super disappointing wines. New building doesnt feel welcoming. It feels like being in a storage shed. Staff was cold. Just over all it was a disappointing experience.

Disappointing. Clean and tidy, but not much to do. Wine tasting had a cost. Others in the nearby area were free. Not much to experience.

Very simple winery, tastings are done in a fun but thorough way, going through the history of almost all of their (short) wine list. Getting to keep the class was a fun and we took a couple bottles home. Would recommend!

Got here at 5:30, before we were 2 steps in the door the worker gal said they are no longer serving, no hello or anything. I said oh your page says 5:45, she didnt even look at us said, Ill look at that and continued to serve people she was serving. What if we were there just to buy bottles of wine and not just sample? Customer service is not their forte.

Grandma Tommys Country Store is an integral part of the Door 44 Winery. Sharing a common building but offering separate sales staff you get 5 wine tastings for only $2 as well as shop in the country store for countryesque souvenirs.We used the wine tastings to narrow down our purchases to 3 wines that suited our personal tastes. With only 1 more wine, we could have gotten 2 free wines glasses. The staff was very helpful and personable!

No free tastings, but they came with a glass. Red wines were kind of mediocre. The Ice Wine had extra cost just to taste.

The wine was ok, but the service was very disappointing. We stood at the tasting counter for 10 minutes without being greeted or even acknowledged. When we said something, the hostess snapped back at us. She was also very rude to the customer next to us.The policy about some wines being exclusive to club members is silly. You just lost sales because we didnt want to buy into a membership.

Could not find one of the wines I wanted. Clerk said Id could only get Blue Moon at Parallel 44. If youre affiliated, why dont you offer all wines at both wineries?

Absolutely delightful staff, who were knowledgeable and patient! I recommend paying for a tasting- its completely worth the $2 to try some of their original to Door County wines.

We always visit this winery when we are in Door County! The employees are very helpful and friendly! There is a wine for every taste at Door 44!

Umm...we opted for the more expensive “Valentines Day” tasting flight, and they brought out 4 plastic cups for both of our flights. We requested that we’d rather have glasses (like everyone else in the room), rather that plastic cups. She told us “It’s the same amount of wine, it DOESN’T MATTER.” Umm...that’s not the point, but thanks for presuming we value quantity over quality. Cheers!

I had a great time at Door 44 and found the perfect combination of wines to make the one that was perfect to my taste. The staff was extremely helpful and polite, even fun!

The wines themselves were incredibly good, but the atmosphere was cold and uninviting. The man running the wine bar was intimidating and not all that friendly. I would not visit again.

Friendly staff, average wines. Disappointing that it wasnt an actual vineyard as the vineyards are quite a bit farther south. $2 tasting which was ok. We ended up purchasing something called Drink Pink.

Poor service, you had to register at the cashier to start tasting. There were empty spots at the bar, but the cashier was so backed up we didn’t stand a chance.
