The staff in the winery and distillery were very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff of the cheese and fudge lower level didn’t even acknowledge us even though we were the only ones down there at the time. They have a large variety of wines and gifts and a nice deck and outdoor seating. Our favorite interaction was definitely the wine tasting. Our hostess was so friendly and answered all our questions, was very helpful and helped us enjoy our time.
Lovely and clean. Appropriate social distance markers in the floor. The check out line inside LOOKED long with only one cashier but she was like a freaking superhero with how quick she got customers checked out. She was also extremely amiable and polite despite moving so fast! The entire experience there was wonderful and one we will be repeating on upcoming visits to Door County.
I had an amazing time, I went 3 times over this last weekend(August 21st-23rd). Solid health and safety measures were taken by both the winery/distillery, and their employees. We visited through the Door County Trolly tours and had great wine, and spirit tastings. The selection of wine and spirits are abundant, and you can sample everything they have to offer. I highly reccomend trying the Luminous Vodka, Barrel Aged Gin, and before to do a wine flight, theyve got so many wines to choose from. Will definitely be back againP.s. the building is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out
Great experience, this is a local winery with many different local lines they were all wonderful there is option to taste seven different wines with no cost. And then theres a spirits room where you can taste a pretty much any spirit for $2 a piece if you buy five then you get a free logo shot glass. I would recommend this to anyone that visits the door county area
Beware the mask Nazis. Freedom of choice is not given to the customer in this establishment. The so called owner called the police on me for not wearing a mask (even though I have a medical condition which exempts me from wearing one). I was also drinking my own coffee. He then proceeded to put all of my wifes things back on the shelf even though she was wearing a mask. He then refused to serve us in any way. Very discriminatory behavior. Bigots own and work here.
Tried to do the wine tasting inside but the lines were very long. Ended up going outside for the tasting. It was free but the wines weren’t the best. Definitely would stop again if we had free time because the wine was free but isn’t a “must-do” if we come back
Great place! Combination winery and distillery with samples of spirits which will agree with anyones taste and a huge selection of wines. From sweet cherry to dry cabernet. Definitely worth a visit!
Their wines were not my cup of tea... to use a completely unrelated metaphor. The reds had very little character. Tastings were free and wine prices very reasonable. Surprisingly my favorites were their moscato... very light. And cherry port which bought to go very well with chocolate. Wife loved their mead and we bought a bottle. Courteous workers. Nice experience
DPW is always a fun way to start or DC weekend. I was very excited to see that Covid did not have an effect on the service and personality of their team. While they clearly took precautions, the interaction between guest and the servers remained top notch! Thanks you!
We loved the atmosphere. Lots of wine and whiskey, bourbon to chose from. Found pretty much what we were looking for. Cant wait to come back and do a wine tasting here!
This is a winery you have to stop at if you are in Door County! The wine is so good and they have the cutest store. On top of it all the wine is super affordable!
I had a very pleasant experience here. Such a variety of spirits, it was hard to choose. Great customer service! Definitely worth 5 stars.
Was busy but staff did and incredible job of keeping things safe and sanitary! Complementary wine tasting was generous and very helpful for shopping Their vast selection. Outdoor seating was gorgeous!
We always stop here but we just visited during Covid-19 and I want to give them an A+++ in their health and safety measures. We were greeted by their friendly staff outside who were all wearing masks (as were we). They had markings outside to encourage safe distancing for their customers. Menus and flight options were easy to ready and visible while in line. Tables were spaced perfectly and made it easy to social distance with other customers. We did stop inside their gift shop which is currently all “one way” shopping with no back tracking. We felt they did a great job thinking of their employees and customers. We were happy to support their local business while being mindful and clean.
Get the cherry moonshine. A nice single malt whiskey also. A must stop for wine or other alcohol.
Nice place. We bought 7 bottles of wine and received the 10% discount.
Great wine tasting experience. COVID safety in place. Wonderful time here!
Door Peninsula Winery American Blackberry Merlot OMG ! I like most Merlots but this is over the top fantastic! I have to purchase a case now ! Way to go DPW you got me !
So many wines to pick from. You get 7 free tastings which is awesome. There is about 50 different wines and ciders to choose from that range from dry to sweet but they definitely cater more to sweet wines. Discounts for buying more wines as well.
Bought many bottles of great fruit/sweet wine from here. One of the best wine tastings Ive done in terms of how many you get to pick from. They also have bread and flavored olive oil tasting along with pretzel and mustard tastings.
It is a shame that they only allow you to do five small samples as they have 63 ones to choose from. Seems like they have something for everyone.
Free wine flight and fun distillery! Got a bottle of door county bourbon. Great time!
Well worth the drive from the fox valley to stock up for the winter, or maybe just the week!
Free tasting, super friendly staff, shaded outdoor seating, and pet-friendly attitude all added up to a lovely, relaxing afternoon! The bottle prices were great, too...brought home half a case
You cant complain about stopping and getting free samples of wine. The bottles are very reasonably priced as well. Wasnt able to do the tour during COVID but that could be fun too
Experienced staff helped us select great wine! Highly recommend this winery!
Covid safe great wine. Flight tasting.
Great wines! By far the best, most organized wine tasting experience with all the COVID precautions happening right now. Great job!
It was fun, but not a place to take young kids.
We stopped in yesterday not knowing what to expect. We were so impressed!! We had a blast! The energetic, sweet, knowledgeable bartender Christine, was so helpful! The tour is also worth doing! When we come back to the area we will be sure to stop back. I will also be purchasing Door Peninsula Wine locally now as it is wonderful tasting wine.
Free tasting of wines .. Beautiful shopping and discount if you buy 12 bottles
We were pleased, areas outside where masks were not needed and masks to be worn indoors for shopping and tastings.
Christine was an amazing host! Took care of all of our needs! Suggested products based on our conversation and what we told her we liked. I would highly recommend the winery. We will definitely be back!
My Bachelorette Party went here this last Saturday & we had a lot of fun! I had called 2 months prior as well as the week before to confirm and they appreciated the call-ahead. I was told there busy time was 10am-noon, but when we got there around 12:45 I thought it was quite busy still. The 13 of us enjoyed ourselves despite the semi-crowded tasting bar. We were able to wiggle our way into a spot at the tasting bar where we were serviced by the nicest gentlemen. The employee who gave us our wine samples was joking with our party and giving us all a great Door County experience. He really made the busyness a non-issue with how great his service was. The wine was phenomenal! The fudge + cheese areas as well as regular bar were only mildly busy in comparison to the tasting bar and eventually we checked them out too. The fudge was delicious as well as the the drinks that were not wine! Overall I would highly recommend visiting here with the great customer service and light atmosphere, but know that it might take some time to get serviced.
I placed an online order and they called me to offer a better deal and 2 free bottles! Great customer service, and great product! Thanks Door Peninsula Winery!
Awesome set up for social distancing this weekend. Loved the tastings outside! Thank you.
Stopped here on my way through Door County. They have an extensive variety of wines to try and purchase. The tasting room allows you to try seven different wines. There is a large retail area with lots of local products along with their wines. Dont forget to go to the distillery in the same building!
They have some wonderful sweet wines. The mead is dangerous!
We stopped in to tour yesterday. Walking in, we were shocked with the amount of wine selections that Door Peninsula had to offer. We tasted with Christine/a (sorry!) who was so knowledgeable, sweet, and kind. Our experience here was phenomenal and we will definitely be back again!
A lot of wines from $10.99 to $12.99 Also some wines on sale for less. A large free wine sampling offer, as well as free food sampling.
Great wines, friendly staff!
Pre ordered, everything was ready a day earlier, staff were so friendly, will be back next year, cant say enough great things, just go there and look thru the website and check out everything
These are awesome people. A must stop in Sturgeon Bay
Always love this place. Me and the husband always go there every year for out anniversary to get a bottle or 2 of wine.
GR8 place Super Friendly Staff We were even Happier after the Case of Wine!!!
Great place to deliver.
This is my favorite winery in the area. Actually, its probably my favorite winery, period! They have plenty of dry wines, but I like sweeter varieties, and they have an excellent selection of them as well. My favorite is Sunset Splash. The ice wine is amazing as well!
Nice place with Free samples.
Wasn’t a fan of the wine at all. They should go back it the drawing board.
Cannot remember the girls name today at the wine tasting counter but she was great and has a sense of humor. Told her I was getting a case of the same wine and she said she would have it brought up. Didnt know that they do that. Helpful for us both. She was very informative with us as well as where some of the ingredients come from so that is good to know as well.
Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. Cant wait to return
So many good wines here!! Hard to NOT walk out with a case
This place is amazing! Just to see all of the equipment, including the giant copper still, is enough reason to stop. I loved this place, and I dont even drink! Exceptional selection of wines, hard ciders and distilled spirits to choose from, along with specialty food items and gifts. Tours, tastings, great prices, stimulating conversation...a very enjoyable experience even if youre only shopping for others. A Door County must do!
Goox wine, with outdoor seating, with social distancing.
They have everything plus free samples (depending on the day and time)
Awesome place ! Must stop
I visited several wineries while in Door County with Door Peninsula being the first. It was very hard to visit some of the other wineries after being here first. There is so much to discover here from over 50 delicious wines a distillary with flavored moonshine, Bourbons, other liquor, cheeses, dips gifts and an amazingly spacious building. I love sweet fruit flavored wines and these were fantastic.I started out with a bad experience in the distillery sampling bar where I absolutely could not get a bartender to take my money even after 20 minutes standing there with a completed sample list and cash sitting on the clip board. I understand first come first serve but if poeple were so indecisive as these individuals were, there was no reason that they couldnt served me and returned to them when ready. I was so upset that I almost headed to my car before seeing the rest of the building. The process of serving people absolutely needs to be changed!I was so disgusted that I headed toward the front door and at the last second, decided to see what else was being offered. I enjoyed the company of a super hard working bartender, which I dont remember her name but she was definitely a multitasker unlike the two ladies in the distillery area. She handled at least a dozen peoples orders and was able to keep track in her head how many each person had taste tested and what kind. Between the bartenders actions and the amazing array of other things to discover, my image of Door Peninsula was restored before I left the building. I really wanted to purchase something from the distillery but never went back.
All employees wearing masks, but not enforcing mask ordinance on customers. Cannot believe they are still doing tastings in the Distillery while we have one of the highest COVID growths in the nation. At least a dozen people unmasked standing in a roughly 6x10 area. Unreal.
Liquor tasting was great and very reasonably priced for 5 tastings. Cherry moonshine was out of this world. Wine tasting was great too with a fantastic, high energy bartender. Store has all of their wines and liquors of course but a ton of other stuff too.
Everything is delicious. Ended up doing multiple tastings and loved it all.
We stopped at three wineries in Door County on our recent vacation. The first made no bones about it, they charged for tasting. The second advertised free tasting but when you got there, you got one taste free of a sparkling wine and they charged for five additional tastings. Then we came upon Door Peninsula Winery. What a refreshing difference! Seven tastings at no charge. Then to top it all off, their wines are very reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Its no wonder we spent so much time and bought so many bottles. Next time, no other winery stops than here!!!
Very nice place
We thought this was the best winery we stopped at in Door County for their selection of wines available. There is a vast assortment of wines available here to try and buy. The staff is very friendly and courteous, and the winery, distillery, and snack food sections are nicely separated. While we ran out of time on our first visit with the Trolley Winery Tour, we made it a point to stop back on our way back home.Great job everyone and thank you for the great experience!
This is our favorite winery in Door County! We love the free wine tasting because we always end up purchasing 3-7 bottles each in our group! The people there are always friendly.
Excellent tasting menu and a terrific bartender for service!
Fun tour, great tasting and good gift shop.
Absolutely hands down one of the best winery’s in Door County. The winery and distillery are huge and you could spend several hours at the entire place, they have an awesome selection of products to purchase and samples to try and it couldn’t be in more of a perfect location right along the road making it an easy stop. Great selection of wines for a wide variety of palates. Highly recommend making a stop on your trip up to Door County!!
Loved walking in there with my Deaf friend and being served by a very welcoming woman (Christine) WHO KNOWS SIGN LANGUAGE! She made the entire experience ACCESSIBLE and enjoyable! Thank you for the great wine and even better service!! Will definitely be back.
I alway love their wine selection. I had to pick up their port wine today.
My wife and I liked it but we wished we got more information about their wines.. Especially if any were from Wisconsin. There were so many to choose from and you got to pick 7 samples. Not a whole lot from Wisconsin. Don’t get us wrong we enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting. There were a lot of people trying them and 2-3 staff people taking care of them.
Im like a kid in a candy store in here lol. Two levels, consisting of a restaurant, tours, wine tasting and whole more always ensure I spend a good couple of hours at this place. The wine selection is huge and impressive, while also offering everything from brandy to moonshine if you prefer. Additionally, they have a huge amount of oils, spices, and chips to sample and purchase. My favorite is the sage and mushroom oil, wow! This literally is one of the best Door County wineries ever.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Great wine, awesome drinks, and very reasonable prices. I stop every time I am in DC, and end up spending way more than I wanted to.
Very friendly staff and we loved that we could go and sample many different wines. My personal favorite was the Lighthouse White which is similar to a Riesling. The only thing I didnt appreciate is that its a popular spot for tourists so its not a small feel and you dont really get to sit and enjoy wine. Theres a long counter you stand at to sample 7 different wines, which is nice, but will also require you to wait a long time for people to leave after sampling.
Huge variety of wines and food for purchase!!
Great variety of DC wine and spirits!
My family and I went to the winery while on our annual Thanksgiving vacation to Door County and it was a wonderful experience. Christen, the lady behind the bar, was amazing. Very attentive, extremely knowledgeable about everything they had to offer. Recommended some of the best wines Ive ever had. This place is great, lots and lots of wine, great spirits selection. Highly recommend this place.
Widest selection and best prices for wine in Door County. There is something for everyone ...or a bagful! I especially liked their coders that were crisp and bubbly
Great wine, great employees, great experience.
The wines were amazing with a wonderfull selection. Our server Chritine was excellent and very knowledgeable. Great personality. We purchased 6 bottles. Cant wait to try them. Definitely going to come back again. The free wine tasting was a nice touch also.
Great winery! Its a must go, if you are in Door County.
Free wine samples and heavy pours on the liquors. We bought the Cherry Mamosa wine, golden rum, and cherry infused bitters.
We stopped by on 7/23 around 3:30: This is the first of my two-part review. Beautiful setting, nice wines... and excellent customer service by the young man who was in the tastings area. I wish I would have gotten his name; he was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable! Now for part two of my review: The two ladies at the payment stations / registers (one was upstairs and one downstairs) need to work on their customer service attitudes. Both were rude (especially the one who was at the upper level register). I could go on and on, but in the interest of brevity, I will just say it was very evident they did not want to be there. Ladies, may I suggest that it you are going to have such poor attitudes you may want to find another place to work. Your demeanor does not cast your employer in a good light.
Knowledgeable staff that are ready to greet you, this is one of the best wineries I have visited! A great experience to say the least!
The wine tasting line was long so we started shopping through an awesome selection of items and wondered into the distillery ‐ very nice place and the drinks are outstanding and reasonably priced! What is not to like!
Christine was the best bar/hostess. This was our 1st winery and will definitely be coming back. Left here with some of the best tasting wines and whiskey.
I stopped at Door Peninsula on Saturday (8/3/19) as one of the stops on the Wine Trolley Tour. Our private tasting with Tracy was AMAZING!! She is so fun and very knowledgeable about the wines. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to see her! However, my rating is low because of a staff member named Kyle who was VERY rude and unprofessional to our group. He raised his voice and made a scene when we asked a question about where to go for payment and accused us of having more tastings than allowed, which we did not.. We then overheard him talking unprofessionally about our group to other patrons. We are very disappointed in the service we received from him and will likely not return.
Mummy Wine! All I have to say!
Suburb quality wine. I ask one of the wine tasting staff about one wine and he had not idea about it. great place though.
This distillery and winery located near Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin offers an excellent tasting experience. They have a list of at least 40 varieties of wines and spirits available for tasting and purchasing. They have also a nice shop with infused balsamic vinegars, jellies, spices, cheese, and fudge. The facilities are sprawling and they offer tours, although we did not take one. Definitely a recommended stop when visiting Door County.
This was one of the most outstanding customer service experiences I have ever had. Kristine at the wine tasting bar was very upbeat, fun, and knowledgeable of the products. I highly recommend going here. the wines were great and she made a very memorable experience. Sergio the the man!!
My wife and I went on vacation and the sampling you could do was perfect! Its great to try before you buy! The port they offer rocks as well.
A delicious sweet(ish) wine selection, plus you get 7 free samples when you come in!
Excellent winery and spirits manufacturer. Great place to stop and do wine tasting as well as spirit tasting. Fudge and other items local food items. All around great place to stop and experience Door county
Beautiful place...
