The park is under construction. I was told by people using the archery part that it wasn’t worth the money. There was a pavilion there that was being used by a group for a family reunion. They drained both sides of Alexander lake so there’s nothing there. Currently they’re constructing a path through the middle and once that’s done they’re supposed to restore the lakes. This project is supposed to be finished by the summer of 2019. This area is part of the 33 mile PATH system. I did speak to people who were biking through it and they said it was actually quite nice except that there was no place to shelter from inclement (lightning) weather. I did see picnic and sitting benches along the path. The historic Parker House circa 1830, is also located in this area. The house is boarded up though, I was told it is not accessible.
Trails are clean and several observation points. Nice for where it’s located. Some construction to improve but that’s all for the better, ignore that and enjoy the scenery.
Nice place. 3d range about 22 target and excellent static field
As of the data of this review, they have upgraded the targets on the 3D range and will replace the 2D ones soon. This is a great archery range and I enjoyed my time there.
Due to budget cuts and State Government, many of the funds needed to update and repair targets and the 3D range at Panola Mountain were used for other purposes. The targets are shot up and most of the 3D walking range targets have holes through them or are falling apart. I will keep doing what I can to support the park as it is overall a great range and one of the few in the metro. If you are interested in letting your local government and the park directors know, we can maybe get some funding to keep the range usable.
$25 for parking and 2 people to shoot 3d... unfortunately the targets are in awful shape.. the course layout is pretty nice..trails well groomed... targets are awful.. cant make out the rings on most, probably 5 targets are completely broken, another 5 to 7 arrows go right through as the centers are completely worn out... save your money.. dont go
Very well kept Park, good bike trails and nice Nature Center with some live snakes and turtles. Not many hiking trails though and wish there were more. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
This is a great and expansive range that offers a wide selection of 3D targets. The land used to be a golf course development, so you get nice hilly trails to wall through between the 22 courses.
Have great targets but,The price is too expensive to shoot but had a great time.
Not all that...no places for motor home camping...not much to do really....
Great Park.. fishing and relaxing
Great park!
Great place and well kept!
I enjoyed it, nice quiet place to practice
