Memorial Church

The most gorgeous church around here to me.I just love to walking in here, looking around and feeling the peace.All the stained glass windows reminded me of God always with me.I couldn’t get inside of the church, it is closing, I think the COVID-19 has something to do with this too.

I very rarely photograph church weddings but Id come here weekly if I could. Its a beautiful church to have your Stanford wedding at!! Please note you have to be an alumni in order to get married here. Gorgeous inside and out ... perfect places outside of the church for photos afterwards as well. Cant wait to shoot more weddings here!

Amazing church and if you are around go inside to check it

A beautiful church inside and out. Very large with many pews. Quiet and peaceful. They were having a small service in the corner of the chapel & it was nice to hear little pieces of the singing and sermon.

This church is one of the earliest, and is still among the most prominent, interdenominational churches in the West of the U.S. Jane Stanford built the church as a memorial to her husband, Leland. Together, Senator and Mrs. Stanford had constructed the University as a memorial to their son, Leland, Jr.The Stanford family, who were religious, but not committed to any denomination, decreed that the church was to be open to all. Adopting such a philosophy, they felt, would permit the church to serve the broadest spiritual needs of the university community. Stunning church at Stanford. It is majestic and rivals famous cathedrals found in Europe! Be sure to walk up to the front and see the East and West wings. What a treat

One of the most beautiful buildings if not thee most beautiful Ive ever been in. Has to be one of the most beautiful buildings on earth (internally). All glory and honor be to the name of Jesus Christ forever.

Attended an ecumenical service in this beautiful church. Lovely pipe organ and great choir. Ive also attended two marriages here. Recommend

The Stanford campus has an eclectic and vibrant energy, that make for a fun day. The Stanford Memorial Church, on campus, is a must see in Palo Alto. The people who work near the church are very knowledgeable and generous with sharing local stories. Youll find interesting sculpture clusters near the church. Inside, the mosaic work is inspiring. If youre lucky enough to hear the organ then youre really, really lucky. Enjoy!

Very beautiful church. I visited for a baptism. But you can just site see around the campus and in the church. Parking is difficult so be prepared to walk. Even handicap fills ups so be prepared. Nice place to sit in the grass and just enjoy the scenery.

The church is located inside Stanford campus. You can see it right away from the university entrance. I love the details of paintings on the wall as well as the colors.

If you happen to be visiting Stanford University do include time to visit the Memorial Church. It’s exquisite, and the Stainglass windows are gorgeous. It’s actually available for weddings.

This is such a beautiful Church. The golden tiles glimmer in the sunlight, and the details in the mosaic are amazing. I also love the stained glass in the middle that makes it look like you are looking into the church. Super pretty, and well worth a visit just to see it!

I love the main squad and this church is just as impressive. I haven been inside but just staying outside looking at the decoration and taking picture is worth a visit. I recommend going on a weekend to enjoy the place better without the student crowds.

Amazing church. Was there to see Choir of Trinity College, Melbourne and was blown away by the attention to detail given to every surface of the place. The accoustics were out of this world and the organ? Forget about it! You dont just hear the sound you feel it. If there is ever a chance to visit during a performance or mass, do it! This is a church designed to be experienced with eyes and ears.

A beautiful space for beautiful music. Includes a gargantuan, beautiful organ. Too bad Leland and Jane chose Romanesque architecture—they were only 100 years off of the soaring gothic style whose cathedrals dot the countryside in France.

The Ash Wednesday service was a touching reflection on the St.Valentine’s love and the blessing of ashes and repentance, the paradox of Chocolates and Ashes. This church is such an incredible sanctuary for all to find solace and comfort.

A beautiful memorial, this chapel was built by Leland Stanfords wife for her husband. I have had the luck be there when the organist was playing the tremendous pipe organ. Wow, it was a spiritual moment!

Beautiful place, a lot of tourists. Hundreds of history. Parking is also accesible. it has Good places outside for pictures. Recomendable.

Stanford Symphonic Chorus Spring 2019 Concert. Great concert venue for sacred. music written for churches with strong long reverb or with organ. Chorus members hard to see without risers. Bing a much better venue for most concerts.

Incredibly breathtaking every time, from its murals on the outside and its ornate tabernacle and ceiling/walls on the inside. A classic cathedral with a beautiful Mediterranean/Spanish exterior, which is typical of the Stanford campus.
