Scalzi Park in Stamford, CT., is a great family style park. Its got great walking paths, skateboarding, playground, multiple tennis courts, baseball fields & park benches. And, the best part is the Park is free.

I just recently moved here and was very pleased to discover this park. It is practically hidden off of Washington Boulevard. I was walking my dog and I saw a footbridge crossing a small river. I decided to see what was on the other side and came upon Scalzi Park. So nice there, very well maintained, very big and great for walking the dog walking around a very long path that surrounds the entire park for riding the bicycle in the bike lane that circles the part, or walking through the Nature Preserve. Unfortunately all of the fields are closed due to covid-19. Looking forward to see everything come back someday. But I will definitely be back, many times.

Scalzi Park has everything. Lots of sports. Picnicking. Nature trail by the river. Walking circle

The tennis courts really MUST be redone, theyre way overdue! But other than the tennis area, the park is well kept, a great place both for serious training in a variety of sports, as well as family leisure time, walking the dog, etc.

People for their best in keeping their cook outs in a safe distance to other parties or workout spots.

Clean, landscape upkeep is great, and the plenty of recreational options to choose from.

No violence comfortable peaceful place to have a picnic the people was so pleasant p I recommend it to anybody to go to you have a great time in the park dont close until 9 Love itAnd I met my family

Great park! I primarily use to go for a run, but there are plenty of things to do here; workout, basketball court, tennis court, skate park, 2 baseball fields, kids gym, barbecue, and more.

I just love this park. Its local, its clean and I love watching kids at play.

This park is great! We will get to the missing star in a moment. The basics: the park has a nice, perhaps quarter of a mile-1/2 mile loop paved trail, has some little fitness stages set up, a softball field, baseball field, nice playground area for the kids, huge tennis court area - I think there are 6-8 courts in total which seem well kept, there is a solo practice wall for your tennis improvement needs, there is a really nice skatepark area as well, open field areas for sprinting or tossing a frisbee or ball. There are grills with covered picnicking areas. They have an inaccessible tree obstacle course - some youth group of some kind has access to it. They also have a inline hockey rink and two volleyball courts which is great and a huge win! The problem is the hockey rink is run down - I blame people and what would appear to be the skatepark kids for some of this as they have makeshift ramps and grind rails set up. I also have not been able to find any information on leagues or drop in activity - I think this rink could be utilized much more, i for one would love to find a league to play in here. Volleyball courts - there are two volleyball courts which is great as the next closest are at Leone park, the issue here is that there is no sand or court lines/rope, and it is not well kept, I would like to see the parks and wreck improve these a bit, especially after all the work that went into revamping this park to add all the amenities that it has now! So, overall great, safe, park with lots of things to do. I wish they would do something with the roller rink and improve the volleyball courts! Oh! - they have bocce ball lanes as well with league play of some such going on all the time - looks like a fun time. Anyways, stop by and enjoy the park, keep it clean.

There are about 12 tennis courts with night lights. Plenty of area to walk or run and a playarea for children

Really great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors a bit. Baseball field, safe play areas for the children, a great skateboarding park. Most people walk and bike the park. Easy to meet people, bring your picnic or have a cookout while playing volleyball. Lots of parking most of the time. Close to restaurants and shopping.

It is very spacious. Good place for kids to play, provided the weather is good.They have already closed all the restrooms. The got to go restrooms are filthy. If atleast one restroom can be kept open, it will help.

Nice friendly people. I wanted to play volleyball with my friends but there were only 4 of us. Then A group of 5 people asked if we wanted to join them and so we did. We played for hours with them and we had a blast. Overall the park was nice not too loud or chaotic. Good place for families to visit whether you want to play tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, catch or just want to relax, its a good place to visit.

Always a fun day here! Water Sprinklers are great on hot days lots of room in the park to do pretty much anything. Basketball tennis baseball skate parks open fields great for a family day

Good park! Scalzi is family friendly, has spots to grill, a playground, kids water area, baseball and softball fields, a basketball court, tennis courts and walking paths. Even though its an older park, I still enjoy visiting!

Its a great park with a lot to offer! There are many courts for different kinds of sports and theres also a bike path and walkers trail along with a childrens park. Has public restrooms also.

Great playground for kids

There for my nieces birthday picnic party ....lots of people in different areas of the park no one on top of each other kids running around and on the splash pad too .....only issue i had was people next to us had their dog off the leash and it chased one of the young boys in our party scared him ....not much grass under the trees ...where we were cooler in shade

Great small park neighboring a public school. Good for a stroll or a number of sports.

I love it there but the smokers are annoying. Not regular smokers.

Great park for toddlers and young kids. Splash pad is fun on a hot day. The park offers shade which is also important and bathrooms across the street. The ice cream truck is usually sitting there and sometimes food trucks too. Its our go-to park!

I choose to go there for running, sports and a casual walk to get some fresh air. Its always had been a wonderful place for refreshing myself.

A lot of facilities. I go there for tennis. It is usually crowded when I get there. And a lot of tennis coaching there makes it hard to do recreational tennis.

Nothing like a place like this. I spoke to an Asian man who was collecting bottles around the area and he explained to me that every Sunday there are events in this wonder park. It has a lot playground for all the members of the family. Its amazing!

Great, welcoming, free spirited, safe and relaxing place to take your children/family for a day of fun and out door cooking. It would be nice to have a few hot meals, snack and ice cream pallors/stalls/stands in the park to quickly refresh visitors and passersby.

I understand is fall, but there are kids coming coming to the play ground, and having the restrooms lock, I don’t think is a good idea.

For Stamford, this is a pretty good park. Best unique aspect is the real clay bocce ball courts - haven’t seen that in many places. Also has a pretty good jogging loop.

Its a safe place for children. There are plenty of parking but its better if you do carpool.

There is a very nice skateboarding park

The park is nice but in the summer with campers at the park its not so nice. Because of the little splash park. The kids run from the water to the slides, everything gets wet, I get it, its fun but then the kids who are just there for the playground cant really enjoy the play area. I wish the camp counselors where more considerate of this.

I go here to run... but also there’s a nice playground for kids. Over the summer they have a small area with water next to the playground for the little ones, and around the whole park they have grills so you can do BBQ! Also they have tennis court but most of the time they are packed. Other than that - love this park!
