By far my favorite place to catch a movie. But it sad to see this place close it doors. I will always have fond memories coming here. The staff and movie experience were top notch.
If you are in Stamford and would like to go for a movie, this is the best place. Cheaper tickets and free parking. Even popcorn and drinks are cheaper here. The sound system and projectors are upgraded and you will enjoy the experience. The place is a bit dated but you wont regret going there.
It is an amazing experience to be at 1 of the best movie theaters in the world... That’s my opinion but thy have good snacks, seats, and sound quality. They have Dolby speakers all around u, and the screen is REALLLY big! I guess it is a movie theater so...
Best movie prices in town. $4 on Tuesdays. Parking is limited so I advise parking in the shopping center down the street if the lot around the corner is full.
Great place. The huge theater is a very nice throwback, they pick pretty good movies normally, and the Tuesday price can NOT be beat.
A very cool vintage theater. Old school marquis and the main screen authentic retro style. The seats are a little small, but the vibe is good.
Old fashioned movie theater. $9.00 for a movie ... its the lowest price around. No fighting crowds here ! Dont know why this place is not mobbed all the time... guess its because location is away from downtown Stamford.
This is such a comfortable theater. Prices are great & the screens are huge
Its like stepping back in time to when we visited movie theaters as kids. Very nostalgic
Blank stare from the older gentleman at the ticket counter upon arrival at 7:25pm Jan 16, as if we were a major inconvenience to him closing and leaving for the night. He stated the credit card machine was off for the night, cash only. We continued on to the concession stand where we were also met by a younger gentleman with a blank stare, we wanted popcorn but felt we were a bother to him also, we skipped it. The entire first impression of the staff soured the rest of the night. I wrote this from my phone in the theater, the experience was that bad. Wont return.
$4 Tuesday Matinee of first run movies after they have been in more expensive theaters for at least one week. Clean enormous screen great popcorn but some negative is drink holders are too small on seats. Parking is challenging
Nice old time movie theater. Only 2 screens - 1very large and 1 small. Movies are shown for only a couple of weeks before they are replaced. Very clean theater and friendly staff.
One of the few places that i remember going as a little kind that i still go to
Love this place and its history. So sorry to hear it is closing labor day weekend.
Great local business theater. Cheap showings on Tuesday. Two theaters with great seating options.
This place is great unlike the other review Ive never had a problem with a movie not playing. Small theater is quite small but has stadium seats. The large theater is the original, and has lots of character.
Felt very comfortable there, would go again!
I love this theater. I am so sad that its closing.
Treasure in the world of modern cinema hall, typical old style seating... Love it
Classic theater...one of the only left in the area!
Easy to find, great parking and facility.
Nice old theater that shows films that have been out for a while at a discount.
Most underrated movie theater out there. This place is the best and for a low price!!!
Very cozy theater with an old fashion feel! Not many movie selections (two) but makes for a good date night.
I walk in to watch the new Star Wars on a whim today. The cashier is an elderly gentleman who looks preoccupied with something so I pull out my card to pay while he finishes up. His younger manager is behind him texting and also ignoring me. I inquire about if they take debit cards, to which the manager replies somewhat rudely Cash only. Ok, withdraw $20 from the arm behind me, to the tune of a $3 service charge.Walk back and the elderly guy is finished and just looking at me. No hello, hi, no smile, no acknowledgement. So ticked off already because Im expecting good service at the minimum at what is a local small theater, I ask him Are you ready? And he replies, thinking that hes witty I was born ready.I enjoyed the movie but I will never visit this theater again.
Good prices. Nice for a date night
The movie, Last Vegas, was awesome despite my low expectations. My bride noted that I was the first to laugh and it was laughing with the film, not at the film. Plus we enjoyed a dinner next door.
Always good, never bad. GOOD PARKING
Love this small neighborhood theater.
Recently went To see hangover 2 and i have no Problems with going back the theater is well Kept very clean and the welcoming.
The Best place to see a movie go and enjoy yourself
Traditional old time movie theater. Nothing special except for low prices. $9 admission! Viewed the most recent Star Wars picture on a Friday night and found the theater 20% full.
Good place for a cheaper tickets than downtown
Was at the final showing at the State. So sad to see it close. Thanks for the memories.
Gonna miss this place, they are closing this year.
Vintage 1927. Nice feel.
It was cheap and excellent.

Had a great time away from the overcrowding that is the new Stamford norm.
