Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Art is a hidden Gem in Houston. It is in the mist of plazas (church, neighborhoods, stores and eateries). I have been in the vicinity many of times, down that particular street. This street will lead all the way to I-45 North Freeway in Spring,Texas. That been said, I missed this museum plenty of times and not knowing its there. I had the pleasure of visiting, ( as chaperone) on my sons field trip. Its a small one, but with a lot of character and it has a library thats along side it. Not only that. . . . It also has a basketball court and baseball fields. We didnt explore the grounds in its entirety. My sons were asking me, what was further back along road? I told them, we would have to come back and explore more of the grounds. They enjoyed the field trip. We, enjoyed it!
The art work was quite spectacular. They change out the 2 exhibits every 6 months so this is something you can do over and over again. There was a beautiful selection of stuff you could purchase jewelry and other artwork some of it even stuff I could buy but I didnt know that and hadnt planned for that so I didnt but I definitely will next time I go. Also it is a museum run by donations so you can go even if you cant afford much.
A hidden gem. Great experiences whenever Ive visited. I was there for their opening day, and have been going back since.
Hidden treasure in Houston! You should really check out this small gallery/museum off of Cypresswood. They always have excellent showings and its FREE!
Nice museum in the Klein area. Personal, helpful docents and a really great gift shop. Ive loved every exhibit Ive seen there. Easy parking and convenient location!
Always a great experience and always free. If you cannot find hate or only $1, then go and enjoy the art we all need for sanity
Wonderful little museum next to library
We love the family activities on the weekends, we try to go at least once a month.
We had our wedding reception here. It was fabulous! Kayla was a huge help in getting the space ready for the big day.
We loved visiting the museum today! They have a great super hero exhibit right now that the kids really enjoyed. Visiting the museum is free but they do accept donations.
In a suburban location next to the sheriffs station and a church. It is hard to see exactly where it is from the main highway. I had to drive around the library and the church and come back to it. if you come around you can find the front entrance on the opposite side from the library. There is ample parking handicap parking and a handicap access. Its very nice and clean. Its a small museum maybe fifty paintings okay. But the paintings they have were high quality and well-known painters and artists. When you walk in the people greet you and there is no charge it is free. Because some of the items are high-dollar someone must go with you and watch you as you observe the artwork. It was very enjoyable and you can look at the paintings and there are seating to sit with them and enjoy them. They do not allow photography because the flash might damage the paintings. They had a Norman Rockwell the day I went. Most of the items may be on loan from private collections. It was very clean and the air conditioner was comfortable. I would not advise small children because they might damage something. It is a fine art museum. It was my first time here and I will come back again. I highly recommend this to anyone. If you like my review give me a thumbs up. Thank you
Loved the staff and the museum. Truly a relaxing experience just for you and your thoughts walking through
Great little gallery!
A fun little gem with great artwork. My wife and I took an art class here. Really good instructor with lots of patience.
Wonderful friendly staff and very good exhibits. My kids enjoyed the superhero showing!
Cool superhero exhibit right now-If you are a fan of Superman, Batman, Spiderman, etc., definitely worth a visit.
Very interesting display of super heroe works from around the world. Took my grandkids ages 12 and 17. They also enjoyed it.
Small museum but they have very nice special exhibits and events that kids love!
It is a no admission fee Museum worth investigating -- collection changes every three to fourth months, always leave something in the donation box. So accessible to the community.
Free little art museum that also does activities for kids sometimes (Saturday mornings, check the website)! They rotate the art and include exhibits from local artists occasionally. Ive enjoyed coming here with my family a few times. Its the only art museum in the nearby area and we are happy to have it.
Small museum with friendly staff. We arrived to find that it was their monthly family day, so our children enjoyed participating in the craft project.
I saw the first Andy Wharhall that I have ever liked! Many stunning pieces, especially if you stand back and take them in.
The curator is extremely rigid and hovers over you as you walk through. I was afraid to sneeze for fear of being yelled at. The whole experience was very uncomfortable. This was our second time to go and she hadnt changed from our first visit. The first time I thought she was having a bad day. Today I was sure its just the way she is. We will not be returning. There are better places to go that wont make you feel like your not wanted in the first place. Snooty is out dated.
Such a wonder place with so much planned for the future!! Looking forward to deepening the relationship with this museum.
Nice little gallery and nice people.
What a gem. Was on a bicycle tour through the area and -- happily -- saw their sign as I went by. Spent a delightful hour -- interesting, welcoming, helpful staff; spotless facility; attention to detail; logical organization of works displayed. And, as a landscape photographer myself, I was impressed with the quality of the curation of the exhibits -- works were meticulously presented.
Nice little museum.
They have great artwork, very peaceful. The front desk person does walk in with you as you are not allowed to touch, but either way if you love art its a nice quiet place to be.
Clean place awesome environment
Very disappointed. After driving out there we found out that it was closed to the public that day. They told us they were having a group private tour. We think they should have posted something online to let people know this. It was a 20 minute drive of wasted gas and time. Not to mention the 5 and 4 year old grand daughters disappointment.
Amazingly beautiful collection in such a small space.
The installation changes quarterly. And, it is free!
Its a very small space, but they have rotating exhibits, and its Free!
Best art museum ever!
Enjoyed their exhibits.
Great exhibit in a small museum and the gift shop is unbelievable with quality hand made items. took care of a lot of my Christmas shopping!!
A hidden jewel of museums and they also offer a variety of frer family programs and the ones that have a cost are very nominal for the quality educators that they bring in
Excellent museam. Small and interesting. Free.
A museum close to home. I enjoyed the walk thru and the personal is knowledgeable and friendly. Worth a visit! :)
