Greg and the entire staff, hotel and dining, were outstanding. Five star guest service! Rooms need a good update and so does the wifi connection for those of us who have to play and work.
The hotel is a hundred years old and it shows. The people and the service were wonderful all in a beautiful setting in Pinehurst. The staff was very accommodating. One small recommendation would be to add small coffee pots in the rooms.
Loveeeeee this place!!! Staff is always professional and on point! (Kyle is awesome!) Course is arguably the best in the county!
Great round, you can feel the history of this place inside and out. The greens were a welcomed challenge. Course layout was great.
One of the best courses I have ever played.
Just another great course to add to the list. Very well kept up
My husband and I played this golf course during Memorial Day weekend. The green was really slow, pace of play was good, bunkers were not maintained and the cart path was rough. I understand it is high season for golf so I expected the condition to match the rates.
Best course in Pinehurst !!! What a challenge. always beautiful
The Mid-Pines golf course is fantastic. One of the most beautiful places I have ever played. Ive played about all the courses in the Pinehurst area including No. 2 and I must say this is my favorite. Just a beautiful layout. Cant wait to return.
The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I was in charge of a large group with demanding tastes, and the staff met their needs quickly with smiles and extra effort. The food was delicious and our meeting space was set up to our specifications.
A really nice restoration of a classic Donald Ross gem done a few years ago to bring back this course to its former glory. No rough to speak of, but lots of sandy waste areas which allow an opportunity to recover. Very compact routing uses the land well and provides for many different shots to and around interesting greens.
SO old school! Incredible day spent on a Donald Ross masterpiece. So much history on and off the course!
Old style. Great atmosphere.
Excellent course and staff were exceptionally friendly. As soon as I walked in I felt like I had stepped back in time, in a good way. The course is not long but the greens are fast, smooth and have great sloping. I can’t wait to get back
Well maintained fairways and greens.
Played Mid Pines and as usual, just perfect!!! What a GREAT golf course. Ive played this course at least 10 times and have never been disappointed. It will eat your lunch if youre off your game. This is one of my favorite tracks...
If youre in the Pinehurst area, youre probably playing golf, so I wont waste any time explaining how fantastic a place this part of the country is to chase the little white ball around. You could argue until youre blue in the face which courses are best, but you cant beat the proximity that Mid Pines Inn offers to two of the best in the area: Mid Pines & Pine Needles.Mid Pines Inn doesnt try to be anything that its not and youre better off for it. Youre not here for amenities or the spa, youre here to play amazing golf and relax afterwards with close friends and some drinks. This is where Mid Pines excels. The patio and bar are a great place to unwind and the staff understands their guests mindset. Want to putt at midnight with a couple beers? Go right ahead. For a very reasonable price, you can stay literally footsteps away from both courses, making this the perfect HQ for your Pinehurst golf trip.
Great food fast service
Perfect conditions. Great fSouthern hospitality.
View of 18 behind greenside waste area...just amazing golf course.
This hotel and staff out do them selfs in kindness and superb customer service! Our room is newly renovated and each employee we met has welcomed us and outdone themselves in making our trip more enjoyable!! The beautiful front desk women who brings laughter and joy to the lobby kicked off our stay with her bubbly personality and attention to detail!! The restaurant staff were also fantastic and the food was delicious. What a wonderful place, and more importantly what wonderful people!
Donald Ross gem. Pinehurst #2 receives all the accolades but Mid Pines deserves the respectful eye of the golf connoisseurs.Green complexes recently restored by Kyle Franz from Coore-Crenshaw team are beautiful challenges. The Bermuda grass surface was so perfect, a pool table could not have been smoother. Bunkers were tantalizingly difficult. The routing is a wonderful walk in the park. You can feel the history here.I loved this course.
I love eggs Benedict unfortunately they had shells, and not one piece, lots of shells. They have unlimited mamosa and bloody Mary brunch but if you dont plan on binge drinking on Sunday its severely over priced for what you get. Crunchy texture over cooked poached eggs, dry coconut cake, the lamb chops and shrimp cocktail are the only reason I gave 2 stars. They were fantastic but I didnt think they were worth the $40 price tag for the brunch. The servers kept glasses full but spilled a fare amount on the guest and tables. I wasnt there to drink so I dont have first hand knowledge of the quality of them but the table said they were heavy on the oj toward the end.
The rooms need upgrade: air conditioning unit not working properly, shower head loose and rusty. The place is cool to visit. Bartenders Chris, Scooter and Bobby are incredible! I enjoy my stay overall.
Mid Pines allowed the veterans golf association to play, and its was an amazing course. A must play for anyone in the area.
Great food but the old house needs a renovation badly. Its a historic place and needs to be maintained better.
Excellent Service, last Sunday we had wonderful Birthday event at Mid Pines Ms. Deanna barefoot is Very nice and friendly she is did excellent setup birthday party my family and friends very happy for events setup and excellent service, i highly recommend it Mid Pines Inn and golf club for any kinds of party, We will be back agin mid pines soon. Thanks Ms. Deanna Barefoot and two more persons helped me idk the name very good peoples Thanks agin.
You can tell this is a really old hotel. The rooms are small
Front desk very nice, but we were very disappointed in hotel maintenance. Our rooms curtains had visible dust where they had not been cleaned in awhile. When I tried plug my phone into outlet floors, etc had not been vacuumed in awhile...I mean awhile. I know this place is historical but daily maintenance would help, Carpets in bedroom and hall were clumped up. When paying $150 a night I just expect cleanliness.
Historic Donald Ross golf. Love the place!
Donald Ross gem of a golf course.
Love this course. Always in excellent condition. Beware, if you arent familiar with the greens, putting will be rather challenging.
I attended a meeting here that included lunch. It was well organized in the food was very good.
Gem of an old school golf experience. Great staff and one of the better pro shops in the area. Good bar staff that makes great drinks.
Classic old Pinehurst style course thats very well maintained with friendly staff.
Do not play Mid Pines! I just wasted $175 today. Their grass died in the fairways and tee boxes and every fairway is mostly hard mud. I have never played a course in this bad of condition. Absolutely infuriating that the course would not say anything and still collect full price. If you read this and still decide to play, just remember I tried to warn you....
Incredible place to play golf! Challenging course with beautiful greens. Great food in the clubhouse which retains its old feel, even down to the old wooden lockers and shoeshine stand. Feels like its the 1920s inside!
A group of us played July 20, 2019. When we checked in the rate was reduced from $175 to $150 which was nice, but in hindsight should have been reduced much more. The greens were in great shape, but that was about it. The fairways had multiple bare spots, the grass was more like what I would expect during winter conditions. The kicker was, very slow play and no marshal to be seen anywhere until the 18th. We also had what was reminiscent of Bushwood Country Club on Caddyshack. There was music playing throughout from other groups, dancing in the fairways and the list goes on. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The only reason I gave this a 3 is because of the nostalgia and green conditions. Seriously doubt I will be back.
Need to work on fairway consistency but overall one of the best experiences around.
Tough course but loved watching the Kids Golf World Tournament!
Great place and well maintained courses
Great course and beautiful clubhouse. They also have overnight accommodations.
Decent bar food & great Donald Golf course!
Very nice coarse.
Great course but difficult, classic Donald Ross design.
Favorite golf course in Moore County. Great shape for the time of the year. Remodeled Pops Lounge.
Mid pines. Not my go to, but a nice course and the staff is top notch.
True to golfs traditions. Quaint.
Course was not in good shape. Greens had been aerated and less than perfect conditions were expected, but fairways and tees needed much work. That stated, its a wonderful Donald Ross course. Easy to walk and great to play.
The course was beautifully setup. If your golfer is worth playing. The bathrooms are setup with the pines decor. The restaurant source is good. Its great for a quick bite
Outstanding Donald Ross golf course, friendly members and staff, classic clubhouse.
ECH & MSH School Reunion Banquet was held there and it was very nice, clean and the servers was on time. The food was emaciated very well arranged and the brisket was very tender we all loved it. The entire dinner was wonderful. I recommend Mid Pines Inn& Golf Club to any one. Thank You
Their service is amazing and who can say no to bottomless mimosas!
Mid Pines Golf Club have the best staff around. They took care of all of our needs while we stayed there. Our group was pushing 80+ people and they handled it well. The course was in great shape as well. Donald Ross greens are easy to identify.....
Flawless
It was just a fabulous day of golf had a great lunch
Mid Pines is one of my favorite courses to play. Its absolutely straight forward. However the simplicity of the Ross design along with the generous fairways hide subtle dangers. Many of the fairways are severely sloped. Solid shots down the middle can lead to having to be very creative on the approach. There is no rough but theres lots of sand. When you get to the green if youre on the wrong part youll likely 3-putt.
Greens are impeccable! Great service!
One of the best Donald Ross golf courses you can play anywhere in the country. Great condition and very playable course. Love the old Clubhouse.
The wait staff is friendly. I was surprised when the waitress even remembered what I drank the day before.
Old world, classic, great brunch!
Golf was great, hotel is old and run down, ac didn’t work on our entire floor?
Beautiful bones and setting but smelled of mildew and ready for an overhaul.
Amazing golf course unchanged with time
Always a good place to be.
Great golf course. Great customer service. Hard to beat!
Great golf course. Challenging, but highly playable. The greens were immaculate (even in the middle of winter).
Just returned from a four day golf trip to Pinehurst. Mid Pines golf course is 5 stars, great condition, fun, challenging golf course. The resort is old and is in need of a face lift. We stayed in the villas, which are retrofitted older homes, they are great for a guys golf trip, but certainly no frills.
Hard course, trick greens
The brunch here is great! Prime rib, Lamb, smoked salmon, crab legs, waffles, eggs Benedict, fresh salad. And its only $33 with the service charge! You are very likely to see me and my friends there enjoying the bottomless mimosas.
GREAT Golf (18 holes)
Get golf course! I had fun watching my little brother and his teammates play the course.
Great service, wonderful golf golf course a CD practice facilities. Good food and comfortable accommodations.
Enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Very casual and enjoyable surrounding. Lucky to get a table by one of the fireplaces. Good food nice service.
Excellent food and courteous staff. The structural appearance, both inside and out, is in need of major attention but somewhat expected given the age.
Beautiful!
Great course, facilities are top notch. Staff and service are great.
Very outdated hotel rooms. Bathrooms had mold, ceilings were peeling and carpet was disgusting. Heat in rooms is controlled by front desk. Would not recommend this hotel. On a positive, the bellhop Chris was delightful and made our stay as pleasant as it could be with his great attitude and eagerness to please. He is why I gave it two stars instead of one. The bartender in the clubhouse was great, too.
Classic old country club. Tough course but worthwhile.
Old time hotel in the middle of golfers mecca. If you cant afford the Pinehurst Golf Resort down the road, Mid Pines is a nice alternative. The hotel has been updated, but still has a lot of early 20th century character. (Like the bathrooms, for example.) Rooms are comfortable and food decent with a nice hot breakfast buffet. Note there are three floors, but no elevator! Great golf course.
Terrence is amazing!
Just stopped on the patio for drinks with a friend after shopping. Service was a little slow but very kind once they were able to get to us.
Excellent!
Golf course was in awful shape. Green had more grain than anyone could handle.
The Golf Course is Outstanding and the Food is delicious. You wont be disappointed.
Well maintained greens. Beautiful scenery. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend for all avid golfers!!
Great food, staff and chef. Its sad that they dont do an effective job of publicizing the restaurant.
